infodump time!
this is for my TOH au, some basic information for the big three of the cast and what their roles are! aaaand maybe also a sketch dump since I have too many pencil drawings of this au...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dr. Henry Jekyll
Leader of the Secret Society for Wild Magic. Also a part-time potions seller.
After graduation from Hexside, his initial aspiration was to join the Emperor’s Coven. As such, he began trying to test out his magical prowess and became a curse researcher, collecting rare curses (akin to Eda’s) and began looking for cures. While some of his methods proved effective, during this time Jekyll was deeply absorbed into his work and started neglecting his own health, leading Lanyon and Rachel to become very worried for him.
One night, while researching a particularly gruesome curse, Jekyll believed he finally worked out a cure. With no other subjects, he could only test it on himself. Thus, potion in hand, he decided it was a great idea to go curse himself with a cure that he believed was mostly effective.
Lo and behold, that was the first transformation. The curse lashed out in black ribbons, enveloping Jekyll before diving straight into his heart, issuing several screams from the brunette until all that was left was a bundle of loose clothes, shattered glass, scraps of paper leftover from the curse and research, and one tiny blonde gremlin among said loose clothes. Thus, that very night, Hyde was born. A curse that should’ve killed Jekyll, torn his very body apart, taken control over the leftover scraps, now resides in his body as half of himself, shares his memories and would become the mask Jekyll uses to indulge in activities he finds unacceptable for himself to engage in. The potion that failed to cure the curse is now the key to transforming into each other.
With Hyde, Jekyll quickly realised that joining the Emperor’s Coven is no longer a feasible choice for himself and instead, with Lanyon’s help (due to his family being super wealthy and influential) was able to pull some strings and fake a Potions coven sigil, thus taking suspicion off of him while keeping his status as a wild witch.
His palisman is a crow named Crowley. His staff also never initially had the red gem lmao, he stuffed it in himself to try and give it a more sophisticated look. He also has ear piercings! First made just to get Hyde to stop whining, he later decided he may as well wear something, namely tiny black diamond studs.
Mr Edward Hyde
bithc.
Jekyll’s personal “assistant”. A trader and scammer at the Night Market. He often enjoys committing petty crimes and also trades his potions for rare ingredients required for more powerful spells. Sometimes he’d even bring a few of the Lodgers to sell their inventions too, to make sure the Society still has snails to spare for basic necessities. Most of what Hyde earns in the Night Market goes to his nighttime adventures, but whatever’s left by the time he transforms back will be used by Jekyll to keep the lights on in the secret Society. Besides the Night Market, he likes to go drinking at the sketchier parts of Bonesborough, often getting into skirmishes and bar fights. He relies on Jekyll’s magic and rarely ever uses his palisman to avoid divulging his identity. For transportation, he prefers teleportation spells or magic some wings to make a quick escape. No, he’s not a bird beast. I’ve long decided he is not some crow beast or something, he’s just an amalgamation of Jekyll’s worst traits.
He has about the same relationship with Jekyll as in TGS, perhaps even more tense as Jekyll is very concerned about ensuring that Hyde keeps a low profile and does not reveal the fact he’s a wild witch. Hyde hides it about as well as you’d expect, and eventually the information that he doesn’t have a sigil is picked up by the Emperor’s Coven. He’s never gotten caught before though, oh, and he also idolizes Eda the Owl Lady very much, but never goes to find her, since he’s terrified of Hooty.
The oopsy-doopsy arson will still happen, which I will cover eventually but bottom line is it’ll make Belos strengthen efforts into finding and tracing Hyde’s roots. Through the following disagreements and punishment from Jekyll, Hyde learns he can block Jekyll from using his magic for short bursts of time, and eventually with practice, longer periods spanning from hours to days.
He also has silver ring earrings. Every time he transforms he takes the time to take off Jekyll’s plain black diamond studs to replace it with them and I find that funny.
Dr. Robert Lanyon
A master illusionist, one of Jekyll’s closest friends and co-runner of the Society. Also helps around Jekyll’s potions business.
He’s the reason Jekyll was able to stay a wild witch in the first place. He was able to use his Illusion magic to fake a sigil for Jekyll and using his position of power, pulled some strings to prevent the scouts from investigating further. His father is a prosperous Constructions witch who helps Belos strengthen the castle and fortify bases for scouts throughout Bonesborough, earning him a position of high rank in the Isles. Lanyon despises it though, and took Illusions to spite his father, who wanted him to take a more “useful” track in school such as Abominations or Constructions so he would have more job opportunities. Outside attending dinner parties or finishing errands for his father, he does whatever he wants, usually sneaking off to parts of Bonesborough or to the Society to see Jekyll. He doesn’t even necessarily attend dinner parties, often preferring to have an illusion of himself attending. Lanyon Sr pretends not to notice this.
Unaware of Jekyll’s curse, he hated the idea of Hyde being affiliated with him and yet always so dangerously on the brink of exposing his identity as a wild witch, but so long as Hyde continues helping the Society stay afloat and doesn’t get caught, Lanyon keeps his thoughts to himself. That is, until the arson changes everything. While he helps sort out the paperwork and aids Jekyll in keeping the Society hidden, he is not close to any of the Lodgers and prefers to pretend he isn’t associated with them, mostly out of concern and to keep suspicion off him and by extension, his dear friend.
He has the most insane piercings too, with large gold spheres resembling Eda’s, along with two more piercings further up his ears.
also, minor thing but I've finally given this au a proper name lol, it's now called The Crow House after Jekyll's palisman, which is a crow! I've also updated the tag for it in my pinned post so not to worry!

guys, i have been so insane about convergent evolution lately. (my ‘Lanyon takes Henry’s theory of duality a bit too seriously….’ tgs au)
wild. foaming at the mouth.
They meet! But they don’t know it’s each other! They fuck, and don’t know it’s each other!!! A relationship forms slowly... but they’re still torn over the person they loved, and continue to love so deeply. (They don’t know!!!!!)
Imagine this;
Hyde sees an oddly familiar, but incredibly handsome man. (He’s so damn familiar, for some strange reason, but they can’t remember where they saw him from…)
He glosses over that profound familiarity and goes over to proposition him.
(They’ve seen so many people in both bodies. Rich and poor. It’d be unusual if they didn’t recognize at least one someone in a room…)
Lanyon is trying to drown out thoughts of Jekyll in his other body. Hopefully while drunk, and roughly fucking his thoughts away.
The face of the man in front of them is familiar to him, yes, despite never meeting them before... (How unusual, for a person who is unique in appearance.)
To sate his curiosity, he lets the man flirt with him. Lets him drape himself over him, rest a hand suggestively on his thigh, and whisper in his ear.
Lanyon sees hints of Jekyll in that man. The Scottish accent [dulled by years in London, but still prevalent], and the fiery passion in his eyes.
Other smaller things. The way he sat down, leg crossed over leg. Something about his smile. The way he tilted his head…
That unshakeable confidence in his posture, even as he begged Lanyon to do filthy things to him.
(The features that were different, such as sharp claws and teeth, an insane glint to their eyes, and a high and raspy, almost shrieking voice, more of an exciting draw, then a downfall.)
Why not? He seemed so eager anyway…
It’d just be a one night stand. They’d never see each other again.
He’d never be faced with that man who was oh so much like Henry ever again.
So why the hell not?
[…They saw each other again, and again.]
They both bump into each other at the bar again. Stare at each other awkwardly, before drawing closer and closer, towards each other... (It’s still two strangers fucking. Nothing else. Nothing more, they assure themselves…)
Both happen to visit Blackfog on the same day. Happen to visit the same stall. A conversation is struck up and they rant about chemicals and alchemy (A relatively new interest of Lanyon’s, developed entirely by his interest in developing the potion, and a longstanding obsession of Jekyll’s), before ducking into an empty alleyway…
Time and time again, they find each other. Spend time with each other.
They become fast friends. They enjoyed each others company, the easy, effortless friendship, with a familiar dynamic that they slot into. (…Almost as if they had already known each other.)
And so, eventually they both begin to deliberately seek each other out.
Regular meetings at the bar, same table every single time.
Hyde shows him how to scale a building. Which foot-holes are too small, how to angle his foot, and which windowsills would support weight.
Snarky, and witty jokes, and friendly conversations are exchanged. (And for Hyde’s part, crude jokes, that always had a hint of intelligence underneath them; a glimpse of another side of the person Lanyon had initially only considered to be a hedonist...)
Lanyon showed them a cynical view of the world. Bitter, and dry, but when motivated or interested, passionate and opinionated.
And Hyde showed him his world. The joy and passion he had for everything in life. All the stupid shit they did, with absolutely no fear of pain or death
(If only they were like this full time! They’d grouse to themself. How nice would life be for them if Henry Jekyll wasn’t so damn numb, and sad!-)
As time goes on, they grow closer, and closer…
Hyde turns down invitation after invitation from perfectly handsome people because ‘Oh, he said he be here in… Ten minutes, sorry.” (Words said completely unapologetically, as they tucked away their watch.)
Lanyon drops a gala, because Hyde wanted to go to the park and catch rats for a rat census, and requested his help. (And if the two of them stayed just a little longer than intended, doing things they probably shouldn’t of, who cared?)
A one night stand evolves into some sort of shaky, undefined relationship.
Hyde starts to bring the man he doesn’t know is Lanyon chocolates and flowers. Other little presents and gifts. (He loved wine. And Jekyll’s own cellar would not miss a fine vintage…)
They start actively craving attention and love from him. (Something they had sworn against, after their heart break tore them apart…)
Jekyll ends up sitting in their office doing paperwork, bored or tired or angry, and imagining what HE would do if he was there. (Sometimes Lanyon, with his biting snarky comments, and sometimes that intense man, with a tease on his lips that always made his heart race…)
At a gala alone, wishing he had someone by his side. (But which someone..?)
Then he stuff the thought away in the corner of his mind, in favor of joining a conversation he prayed was interesting enough to draw this thoughts away completely…
Lanyon starts to look forward to the evenings. He strokes their hair tenderly, runs a hand up their naked spine. (No longer just rough touches, that they begged him for…
Soft fleeting things, that they never requested, but always accepted happily. Sometimes even with a purr.)
Alchemical books carried around all night, taken out of Lanyon’s bag and shoved forcefully into their arms, before he ran off back home for the night.
Their face, surprised at first, and then joyful and pleased when they saw what it was, burned into Lanyon’s retinas, and memory…
(Wait… Since when did seeing Edward happy make Lanyon so happy?..)
Both, a second away from whispering a certain four letter word, before choking it back…
Then, they both realize it’s gone too far. It’s no longer just a one night stand!-
(But none of them want it to stop…)
And Lanyon has to admit to himself that he’s falling for someone again, even through those thick walls he put up. And he also has to admit that their similarities to Jekyll are not the only reason he’s pursuing them. (…Or are they? Was Eddy just a replacement for Jekyll? They were so similar. But so different at the same time.
Which was it?-)
Hyde has to consider that their policy of being completely emotionally detached relationships is being challenged.
(Just one more time. There’s no emotions. Just good sex. I don’t care about him. He doesn’t care about me. It can’t be that bad! I would never let it get that bad!-)
Other times, they scream at the top of their lungs, and break things. How dare their heart betray them like this!-
HOW DARE IT MAKE THEM LOVE AGAIN!-
As Jekyll they sigh, and wonder if it is unfair. A betrayal, to love two people at once. (Both to themself, and to them…)
Could he truly devote himself to one now? Which?!-
(They did not have an answer for himself…)
Both shake, and lie awake at night, wondering, pondering. (Should I break it off? Should it keep going?
…How did I let this happen?)
But they’re both in far too deep to quit without broken hearts and pain…
And they don’t want to anyway.

TGGTVAV x TGS AU!
Ok so Sage has always been talking about The Gentleman’s guide to Vice and Virtue and I finally got around to reading it and to say the least… I LOVED IT, every part of it! Whilst reading this fantastical tale, I just COULD NOT stop thinking of the Jekyon parallels to Monty and Percy… Just AGRGHHH they are all such big, lovable, queer Victorian idiots! Anyway If you couldn’t tell by the title of this post, I slam-dunked that book into my favorites pile and hastily made another AU. (also,,, SPOILERS! I am warning you. But what are you doing? Go read this book already!)
In short I’ve basically taken The Characters from TGS and dumped them into the storyline/plot of TGGTVAV, In saying that neither Jekyll or Lanyon are strictly Percy or Monty, if that makes sense? I contemplated this over and over and I just couldn’t cram Jekyll or Lanyon’s characters into Monty or Percy’s. as an example; Lanyon’s personality is a lot more similar to Monty’s than Percy but Lanyon isn’t bisexual (a big aspect of Monty’s character) Yet at the same time both Lanyon and Percy play the Violin, both have dreamy freckles etc. But he just doesn’t fit into either of them, same goes with Jekyll; Jekyll and Monty both share similarities but are both very different, yet not different enough to take the role of Percy. So with all of that confusing explanation, Jekyll and Lanyon remain themselves with a few extra ~touches~:
Jekyll is going to be sent to the mental asylum in Holland due to the existence of Hyde. Lanyon finds out about Hyde when he involuntarily transforms in Marseilles.
Lanyon still plays the Violin and brings it on the Tour with him (for the reasons of plot accuracy and me pushing the Violin-Lanyon propaganda)
Lanyon takes Monty’s position of power (as in his father is an Earl, and sends them on Tour) although Lanyon is rich, racism still very much exists and isn’t a terminated theme.
Before I continue and as a side note: Felicity Does not exist. As much as I wanted to work her into this, I just couldn’t without complicating a bunch of things, and as I said this is an Au, my au and I can do what I want - I do love Felicity but She just wasn’t going to work here.
Frankenstein (still a woman) takes the role of Mateu Robles because I thought it would be fun to play on the idea that Frankenstien created life and that Mateu’s panacea can heal people. After researching and experimenting, Frankestein tried the potion on Elizabeth but it stopped her heart, similar to how Frankenstein's original creation (the creature) ended up killing her love. I thought it would be interesting, that because Frankenstein kind of killed her wife, she created Helena and Dante the same way she made the creature, although they technically aren’t human, Helena and Dante still look and act like humans, and they believe Elizabeth equally as their mother as they do with Frankenstein. (Don’t ask me how a WLW relationship would work in the 1800’s ,,, everyone just thinks that Frankie is a guy {kind of like in TGS} )
Queen Lucy is Scipio because a.) We need more female badasses and b.) take ONE LOOK at her character design and Tell me she DOESN’T Look like a pirate queen- I also just think Lucy is a super fun character that I wanted to incorporate here.
Those are about all the added things/changes - the rest basically just follows the same points of the plot :0
If I’m completely honest, I probably won’t do much with this I just had an idea and wanted to share it :))
Here’s a little image of them - Also I gave them both slightly longer hair because I looked at fanart of Percy and fell in love.

Guys wait- I just had a thought.
Idk if anyone has written a fanfic concerning this specifically, but I know a lot of people experiment with the idea of Lanyon, Rachel, Jasper, etc. taking the potion. I haven’t seen one quite the way I’m thinking, but like-
Okay, so you know how Lanyon said Jekyll had the most uncanny ability to compartmentalize his own mind? And we all are far too familiar with what exactly he meant by that. (Also him saying that it was almost like there were two Jekylls when they were together.)
What if the reason why the potion was so successful in splitting Jekyll’s soul was because of this ability in the first place? He had basically already done it mentally, but the potion completed it by separating them spiritually and created a means by which they were also separated physically.
So now I’m wondering realistically if someone else were to take the potion, just how successful would it actually be? Maybe I’m just being a slut for scary fanfics, but imagine that person becoming something otherworldly. Like if instead of separating, everything melted together, and it was super hard to tell where their surface persona starts and where their subconscious thoughts end. And in turn, their physical appearance becomes uncanny valley. Because, sure, they look human, but something is off and it’s hard to put your finger on exactly why looking at them puts a cold weight in your stomach.
Because again, Jekyll was already dividing the different parts of his brain before the experiment, so it was like sorting out a fruit bowl. There’s still the leftover flavor of pineapple on the grapes, but they are no longer mixed together in the same bowl.
But when you try to sort out the sugar from cake batter, it is incredibly difficult if it’s evenly mixed. And even if you do manage to isolate some grains of sugar, there’s still bound to be large traces of the batter. It becomes a frustratingly sticky mess where you were better off leaving the batter alone, but you didn’t and now the kitchen is a mess and the batter is ruined.
Am I making sense? Agh, I kinda want to read something like that now. All the angst one could fit into an au like that is too good. Cause in some way, it was Jekyll’s fault (left it out for some curious lodger, someone misinterpreted which vial he instructed them to consume, idk), and now he’s grappling with the realization that his potion isn’t a guaranteed divide and he’s rushing to find a cure, falling more apart every time he sees the person.

oh my god oh my god can you tell me more about the hyde wins au??? it sounds so cool im going insane-
Oh! Thank you! I'm happy that you like it!
It’s an old au of mine that I haven’t touched in a while. The entire au was basically "What's the angstiest idea I can think of?"
-
It's basically if Hyde's plans worked out. These ones:
Tumblr media
Instead of Jekyll managing to get the upper hand or things backfiring, Hyde ends up with what he wants. He goes out whenever he pleases, does whatever he wants, and only lets Jekyll out on occasion for survival purposes. And, eventually, Jekyll just ends up accepting this.
Except the plan isn't quite well-thought out enough. After all, Jekyll still has a society to run, patrons of that society, and, of course, close friends who have already been concerned about his behaviour recently who would instantly notice if Jekyll started disappearing at random for days on end. Moreover, Jekyll never quite looks the best whenever he shows up again. It's not like Hyde's ever been the one for cleaning up after himself which often leads to Jekyll coming back to the society bruised, dirty, sleep-deprived, and hungry. Not that this is particularly new for their relationship with one another but, with the disappearances, Lanyon and Rachel end up hovering around Jekyll a whole lot more in an attempt to stop them happening. As such, they start catching him in these messy states a whole lot more.
Meanwhile, Rachel and Lanyon are terrified of these random disappearances. They know that Jekyll's not just the type to vanish when important work needs doing which means something bad is going on. Worse, the disappearances never seem to leave a trace behind. No signs of a struggle, no witnesses seeing Jekyll leave, just like he vanishes into thin air. However, for as distressed as he clearly is, Jekyll refuses to talk about it. As such, the only thing for it is to catch one of these disappearances in the act.
Jekyll's health gets considerably worse with Hyde not taking care of it and Jekyll not really taking care of it either (After all, he never really took care of it beforehand either, but Hyde came out less back then so it was at least less strain for him to deal with.) So, Lanyon, Rachel, and eventually more of the society as more and more people start to notice, have to start taking care of Jekyll as well as keeping an eye out to try to figure out what’s going on.
Each time he disappears, nobody’s really sure if he’ll return or not. Each time, he comes back looking worse. Each time, nobody knows if they missed their last chance to save him.
From there, I’m not really sure what happens.
Maybe someone catches Jekyll about to drink the potion? Maybe Hyde starts to realise that going out all the time isn’t all it’s cracked up to be? Maybe Jekyll’s so absolutely terrible at his job of looking after them both that Hyde has to start actually looking after them? Or maybe Hyde goes full villain mode when he realises that Jekyll’s useless to him and starts to let him out less and less?
I don’t know, it’s vague.
Thank you again!

Going insane, it’s past midnight and I need to be up early tomorrow, BUT JEKYLL AND HYDE BRAINROT HAS HIT SO-
Jekyll and Hyde AUs / random takes I have in my tiny brain.
Jekyll and Hyde’s appearance stops changing when the potion malfunctions and they get stuck as one of their forms. Have ‘em stuck as Jekyll if you want Hyde angst and Jekyll suffering from withdrawal; have ‘em stuck as Hyde if you want the lads on the run from the law.
Lots of folks have Jekyll and Hyde communicate through mirrors. What about through their shadows? “Utterson could swear that he saw Jekyll’s shadow blink, but it must have been a trick of the light”
AU where Utterson is the one to witness the murder instead of the maid and he helps Hyde cover it up to protect Jekyll. How long can a man bite his tongue when he has blood on his hands? Oooh... Tell-Tale Heart (Edgar Allen Poe) vibes...
Lanyon seeing Hyde transform into Jekyll and instead of dying, he spreads the truth around London. You can either have him called a madman, or have the cops trying to break down Jekyll’s door.
I’ve got several Jekyll and Hyde stories where instead of dying in the end, the lads run away to the country side, blending in amongst a small town. In most versions of this ending, they write letters to Utterson that they never send out of anxiety. In one version of this ending, the town they run away to is the same place where the DeLacey family lives and Mr Hyde ends up befriending a certain Monster of Frankenstein’s.
^ I’m not saying that Jekyll and Hyde in the countryside need to have a cottagecore alchemist aesthetic, buuut... y’know, they could, if that’s your thing. I like to write them as local doctors who use herbs and plants in the area to make their potions. (Sadly though, I usually set their story in winter, so goodbye cottagecore, hello big fluffy coats).
Victorian doctors are certainly funky, huh? If Jekyll and Hyde ever get a penny dreadful, having them penned as “Sawbones” would be iconic.
I am very sad that I have no Einfield thoughts, but am too sleepy, need to go to bed now.
Also if any of these rambles have sparked art, meme or writing ideas, pleeeeeeease go for it. I love seeing anything Jekyll and Hyde related, so I will happily consume your content.
(And I swear that I will write my Jekyll and Hyde & Frankenstein crossover someday, or maybe make an ask blog (via reviving Hyde-jacked Asks). But not rn. Too many projects, so little time.)

You know, since Yana and Balor were two different beings and conciousnesses that merged into one, there could be an alternate reality (or AU) where Yana is a scientist like Jekyll, and later on discovers Balor, who acts as Hyde… At first, they are one whole being - Yana, both good and bad, and with the help of the potion, they emerge as two separate beings. In the beginning Balor can, same as Hyde, be controlled, but later he takes control and shape whenever Yana is asleep, making her existence a, pun intended, nightmare. Hyde is hideous, deformed, as Balor had turned Lugh’s face into something dark, twisted and terrifying.
Hyde is terrified of death, and dreads Jekyll’s thought of suicide, killing Hyde in the process, same as Balor escaping and clinging onto everything, just to keep himself alive. Yana being unable to lock him out, no matter how much she tries to highlight the positive influences and thoughts in her life, inevitably leaving him to take her place. And just like this, their character arc is turned backwards.
If this were an AU, Danila could be Utterson and Pasha then Lanyon.

Porcelain Jekyll au
-
This is gonna be long so heres a tldr
TLDR: Jekyll gets taken to a sort of real nightmare party full of dolls, if he misbehaves they'll kill him and if he's a perfect gentleman he'll turn into a doll. There's a branch where he's rescued and two where he turns into a doll
--
•The au starts with Jekyll going to sleep, timeline honestly doesn't matter as long as Frankenstein, Jasper, and Jekyll are all around. Could start where tgs currently is? But Jasper doesn't accidentally wake Jekyll up in his panic
•"The Party of Dolls" is basically a supernatural nightmare? I haven't found a better explanation but basically it's a nightmare that's real and happening, while still "just" being a nightmare. It takes you to like a different dimension while you sleep basically? (The party of dolls isn't the only one but that's not relevant)
•The dolls invite specific people, they invite people who want to be perfect. People who dont want anyone to hate them or find a flaw. Jekyll fits this perfectly
•Jekyll is taken to the party. He tries to be polite despite being unnerved. There's another human at the party, he doesn't learn the man's name before the man gets ripped apart by the dolls for shouting
The dolls target specific people, but they can still take "fodder", people they know will immediately break the rules. So that their actual guests can learn what happens if they are impolite. The dolls also surround guest on all sides, and have them in the exact middle, so that the guest cannot just run out
•Jekyll is terrified, now knowing he'll die if he does something wrong, he tries his best to be perfect
•Unknown to Jekyll, if he's "perfect" he'll start turning into a doll. Ultimately it's a die or die situation
•Jekyll does start to notice the porcelain creeping up him, its be hard not to. He is very much (silently) panicking. But,, the more porcelain on him the more calm he becomes, the more he acts as if this is a simple party and nothing is wrong
•Eventually he reaches a point where he'd actively resist being taken away from the party, but still not fully covered by porcelain
A quick note, Hyde can't do anything about the situation. He wasn't invited and the dolls are suppressing him so much he can hardly even tell what's happening, or leave the mindscape. He's absolutely terrified about this because he can Feel something is wrong and everything is just becoming more and more suffocating
Now onto the branches! There are 2 and a half branches for this au!
Branch 1: Jekyll gets rescued
(Assuming this takes place at Chapter 11 Page 8)
•Jekyll is asleep on the couch, Jasper rushes in the room like his panic on the page except this time Jekyll does not wake up at Jasper's sudden entry. Jasper, noticing Jekyll is asleep, silently contemplates on if this problem is really worth waking Jekyll. Because on the one hand he's probably overreacting in his mind, but on the other Jekyll is really the only person he can panic to?
•He decides not to wake Jekyll, and wait until it's properly morning or noon?, now that the panic is a bit subdued he probably still has stuff to ask Jekyll
•He goes up to find Jekyll is still asleep, and Zosi frantically pawing at Jekyll's chest, occasionally nibbling him, and seemingly really wants to wake Jekyll up. Jasper tries to wake him up but it seems no matter how hard he tries Jekyll stays asleep
•Seeing how Lanyon probably isn't in the Society at the moment (and besides Jasper is pretty sure Robert dislikes him) and he's currently avoiding Rachel. Jasper cant ask Jekyll's friends if this is normal behavior. Why doesn't he ask the lodgers? Maybe a combination of they all seem busy and still being a bit intimidated by them? So he goes to his last best bet, Frankenstein. She's, kinda a doctor and has traveled quite a bit, so she may know whats up with Jekyll and why Zosi is panicking
Note: This whole decision happens in like a few seconds while Jasper is panicking
•Frankenstein does not ease Jasper's worries
•Ah, I guess there has to be some sort of tell, something that makes it clear someone is in one of these "supernatural nightmares" and that Jekyll is specifically in the party of dolls. Idk yet what that tell would be. But Frankenstein knows and thats all that matters
•They take Jekyll back to the attic, lock the entry, and make preparations for a rescue mission
•Frankenstein will be going in to try and distract the dolls while Jasper will be looking for Jekyll. Creature is there as plan B in case the dolls get hostile towards them (as Creature is fully capable of lifting them all up and running out of there. And the dolls are very likely to get hostile towards them)
•They get in, how? I have no clue. But they do. Probably a potion?
•Jasper quickly finds Jekyll and tries to convince him to leave. Much to Jasper's concern, Jekyll doesn't want to leave, and keeps brushing the danger off
Frankenstein and Jasper dont know much about the nightmare. Its likely all they know is that its filled with dolls and people who are "invited" are never seen again/found dead
•Frankenstein's distraction consists of pointing out flaws in how the dolls act. The dolls keep finding excuses, but eventually become agitated with her
•Japser notices the porcelain on Jekyll and loudly panics, attracting the already agitated dolls attention
•Creature picks them all up and runs towards the doors. Jekyll is greatly struggling against this rescue attempt, but once they get out of the building and onto the stretch of yard before the exit Jekyll calms down significantly
Jekyll did not actually calm down, but rather Hyde managed to weasel control after they left the building. Hyde absolutely does not want to be at this party, and Jekyll's struggling could've jeopardized the rescue
•They get back! Whatever porcelain was on Jekyll falls off him with ease. He's angry for maybe half a day or more. But when the doll's control completely leaves him, he's nothing but relieved
Sidenote: It seems reasonable that this whole experience would leave Jekyll with a fear of going to sleep. Perhaps give him something that can deter these types of nightmares? A desire for the comfort of another person, at least in the room, while he's asleep?
Branch 2: Jekyll fully turns into a doll
•Well either Jekyll went to sleep at his own home or some place where no one would think to look for him, as if he was right in the society they'd certainly take notice that something is wrong
•Jekyll fully turns to porcelain. Once he's a full doll they give him new clothes (the sand/beige colored suit I tend to draw porcelain Jekyll in)
Previously, Jekyll had been wearing the suit he wears at any formal party, like the ball in An Army Of Nightmares
•Porcelain Jekyll gets back to the real world. This is not entirely out of the ordinary for the dolls to do. If a guest was reasonably young or famous they'll be returned once a doll, to make themselves more known or respectable before they "die" and go back to the party full time
•Zosi notices something is Wrong while Jekyll is asleep and tries to wake him up to no avail, Zosi can't bark for attention and he's scared of leaving Jekyll alone, the few times he does go out to find someone he's largely ignored or avoided, or they misinterpret what the zombie pup wants. When Jekyll does wake up, Zosi immediately notices that it's not Jekyll, at least not anymore. Zosi knows he's supposed to get rid of any evil creatures, but this was once Jekyll. So the pup runs away and avoids him instead
•ooo I dont want to describe this whole branch? This has already taken way longer for me to write then I want XD, just check out this reblog chain about it bsksndks
Branch 2 ½: Jekyll dies
•Jekyll fully turns into a doll, however instead of entering the real world his real body simply dies. He's found rotting in bed. "Jekyll" however, is still in the party. (Fun fact, this was the original plan for the au)
-----
Extra notes:
▪All the dolls in the party were once people, except for maybe one or two? A handful? But it has long since been lost who's who. And it never mattered
▪Lanyon would not have ever been invited to the party. He doesn't seem to want to be a gentleman, and he knows too much about etiquette to be fodder either
▪Jasper is a proper candidate to be invited, and in branch 2 "Jekyll" is giving him alot more lessons on how to be a proper gentleman, planning to invite Jasper to the party at some point
▪The party always has a host that they cycle though, the host talks to guests a bit more than everyone else
▪Porcelain Jekyll gets to keep his new clothes when returning to the real world

Jaylock, specifically with transmasc Jekyll? T4T legends.
Ah yes, my favorite mix; a trans guy who wants to get trample by a big, strong werewolf, and a trans werewolf who is basically just a puppy. Hell yes <3
Also did I say that these were going to be complimentary to canon? Ahahah well I have no idea how to do that with thi- oh yeah it's an au it doesn't have to be canon complaint ahah nvm also realize i keep steering these to how these ship begins but eh no one has complained so far <3
Also at this point I think I will have to put in keep reading links bc these are getting long sjdhfsjdf
MMmokay. We can all agree that Jasper had a huge crush on Henry from the beginning? Good.
Like, Henry saved him from the cops, was incredibly nice to him from the beginning, and showed him/let him join the Society in the first place. Jasper looks up to him a lot. Henry becomes his only real friend (except for Rachel but... Well... She is more out to get with him rather than be friends with him) so of course he would just... Really... Really... Like Henry after a while.
Virginia catches Jasper watching Henry talking to some of the other Lodgers at some point and she knows exactly what he is thinking. He can try defending himself for exactly 3 seconds before all excuses die in his throat and Virginia begins to pat his back.
"That's normal, mate. Everyone has a crush on Henry at some point." - "Everyone????" - "Yep. You won't hear half of this lot admit it, but everyone has had some kind of crush on him." - "Even you?" - "I said everyone, didn't I?"
Cue a lot of embarrassment from Jasper, cue a lot of understanding and sympathetic gossiping by the other Lodgers, cue a lot of "What do you mean that's the best thing about Henry?", cue a lot of "don't worry, you'll get over the crush soon!".
Except he doesn't. He waits days, weeks, maybe even months, but the crush never disappears. The fact that Henry is so stupidly sweet and caring and loves to spend time with him doesn't help Jasper's situation at all. And the Lodgers notice, and the Lodgers tease him about it.
Henry, as often, remains blissfully unaware.
Or at least that's what Jasper thinks. When Henry comes around to his lab to say hi and check in, and when he brings him some sweets that he claims Rachel sent him to give to him, and when Henry just so happens to eye Jasper up and down, Jasper believes that Henry is just being... Friendly. Very friendly.
And he is just being friendly, at least Henry tells himself that too. Or maybe it's the way he sometimes have a hard time looking away from the werewolf that he realizes that he is... Quite accidentally... Being a bit more than friendly.
And then Jasper-- accidentally or inaccidentally-- comes out to Henry. Perhaps it would be like the same panic in canon but him actually confessing to Henry instead, or Henry would maybe accidentally walk in on Jasper changing. Either way, Jasper halfly panics and Henry just gets the brightest grin on his face, so excited, before he immediately tells Jasper that he can be calm because he understands perfectly!
He doesn't even manage to get out that he, too, is trans, before he immediately starts asking Jasper if he has started to medically transitioned-- like "have you had any surgeries? Or have you taken potions? Oh there are a lot of good potions to change-- personally, Lanyon helped me with surgeries but I made some helpful potions for Virginia-- Oh did you know Virginia is like us, too? But reverse, of course--"
Henry is just. Rambling to poor Jasper. Poor Jasper who is permanently stuck in a :O. He can barely process the words that his very own crush is telling him. For a moment his brain shortcuts and all he can do is to stare at Henry-- the way he is so wildly gesturing as the words roll off of his tongue at 100 words per second. But then Henry notices Jasper's confusion, and he stops, and he repeats himself. He is trans, too.
It ends up with the two of them having a long, long conversation about gender identity as the evening wears on. Henry tells Jasper practically everything he knows about it. He tells him how it wasn't until he started puberty that he realized that it felt wrong, but he couldn't fully transition until later on in life. Lanyon helped him with surgeries but it wasn't until he fully started playing into alchemy that he found and created potions that could help with transitions.
To make a long story short, Henry promises to help Jasper with transitions.
Maybe that's why they suddenly kept getting closer after that. They could relate to each other. Suddenly they wanted to spend more time together. Oh wow huh they are really spending a lot of time together. Wow they are sitting really close... Huh... Wow, wow, wow, Henry is certainly in Jasper's personal space... And Jasper is not pulling away...
Oh wow they smooching. So much smooching. So much smooching yet it's so soft and careful and gentle, Jasper practically melts; melts into the kiss just as much as he melts into Henry's arms.
Aight now some time for the actual relationship hcs.
Hai yes I have said this with every ship so far but consider; cuddles. Jasper is a cuddle bug, Henry craves the warmth and affection.
(Both of them can agree that their favorite cuddles are the full moon cuddles when Jasper is just. A fluffy werewolf. And Henry can bury his entire self into his fur).
Boyfriends helping each other with hormone injections? Boyfriends helping each other with hormone injections.
Sometimes Henry will be very swamped in paperwork, sometimes Jasper wants cuddles, sometimes they compromise and Jasper gets to sit on Henry's lap while he does paperwork. Sometimes Zosi or Christopher will be jealous and it will end up with them in Jasper's lap, too.
Jasper is the only one that supports Henry's obsession with wanting every pet he finds. Jasper is also Henry's alibi when a new stray animal ends up in the Society ("ahah what do you mean "new stray" that's Abby, y'know, one of Jasper's pets").
Jasper's main goal in life is to hear Henry talking in his Scottish accent as much as possible. Jasper is the only one Henry allows to hear it.
Cuddles in bed with Jasper tracing Henry's chest scars (is... Is there an actual word for those scars? Ahaha I don't know) and Henry stroking his hands over Jasper's sides, almost happy that Jasper didn't have to go through surgeries like he did.
Rachel and Robert teasing Henry for having a thing for werewolves? Rachel and Robert teasing Henry for having a thing for werewolves.
So many smooches. Henry can't keep his lips off of Jasper for more than a minute most of the time. So many hugs and so many cuddles after a long day of boring meetings and socializing. Jasper always giggles because he is super ticklish.
Henry reading a book or the newspaper on the couch, reading glasses hanging low on his nose, drinking a glass of wine with his free hand while Jasper is seated on his lap, head rested against his shoulder as he gently snoozes bc poor boy is tired <3
Henry has... Stupidly many nicknames for Jasper. "Fluffball", "Fluffpuff", "Sweetheart", "Wolfie", "My Mister", "Little Sir". He literally will come up with something on the spot and stick with it because Jasper will always giggle and blush.
Surprisingly, Henry is the clingy one. He is also the small spoon most of the time. Man is just skin and bone, he can curl up perfectly so that Jasper, i.e chubby and strong legend McGee, can hold him <3
Virginia third-wheels them a lot. It will start as her trying to have a conversation with her mentor and fellow trans legend and then they will be interrupted by a clingy (and also fellow trans legend) Jasper who came to Jekyll's office in the search for some attention and affection. It ends up with Jasper on Henry's lap while Henry continues his conversation with Virginia like nothing happened.
Jasper was the first one to get to know about Hyde. He was... Surprisingly unbothered and casual about it. That was, at least, until Hyde pinned him against a wall one night and began to flirt with him. Jasper was quite sure his face exploded with blush.
Hyde loves to tease Jasper. Henry constantly tells him off for being... Ah, well, uhm... AH... Too "flirty" with him, so to speak. Jasper has learned to turn the other way and run every time he catches the sight of blond hair or a whiff of spearmint unless he wants to get a heart attack.
Have I told you how much I love the thought of werewolf cuddles?
Also, full werewolf!Jasper basically losing his... Um, sense of awareness? Like he forgets that he is human and he often forgets who the people in his surroundings are, unlike when he was a half-werewolf and fully aware.
What I'm saying is; give me werewolf!Jasper being so incredibly curious by Henry and sniffing him everywhere, somehow opening his shirt just so he can lick his scars because the pack and mate instincts in Jasper is through the roof and his mate is hurt why is he hurt wHO HURT HIM hE SHALL HEAL HIM THROUGH THE POWER OF KISSES.
Henry kissing Jasper's snout. Henry rubbing Jasper's belly. Henry constantly praising and complimenting Jasper.
Henry always making sure Jasper knows how handsome and manly he is. Henry always making sure that Jasper has clothes that aren't torn or dirty and that are comfortable and fits well. Henry doting on Jasper.
Jasper always being there for Henry when things get rough. Jasper stating everything that he loves with Henry and kissing him on the nose when all Henry wants to do is smash his head against the desk and cry. Jasper and Henry taking care of each other <3

I present, from my new Lanyon drinks the potion AU (working on the name), Robert Lanyon and his HJ7 Alter ego!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Taking pictures of colored pencil drawings is the bane of my existence, bc lighting is so annoying.
Anyways!!! I've settled on the first name Elias, bc I feel like Henry would help name him and Elias is a letter off from Alias (which means a fake/pen name), so I thought that'd be funny :3 still working on the last name tho.
Yes, that is Hyde's vest that Elias is wearing. Henry gave it to him on his first night alive after clearing everything up with him and Robert about what just happened to him. Since he's near Hyde's size, Jekyll decided that he needed some clothes, at least temporarily, but Elias refuses to give it back now, despite having his own clothes. Why? Because Henry gave it to him, and he loves Henry so much. it's also Hyde's vest, who's part of Henry, so by proxy he's gotta love him too, right? How could he hate any part of Henry?
Unlike Hyde, Elias isn't some self-proclaimed evil incarnate. He's very easy to read emotionally and is very honest to everyone around him. He's very open about his feelings, which are generally very quick to change, especially towards those he cares most about (*cough* JekyllandHyde *cough*-) and he strives for praise. He likes accomplishing things and has more of a liking for "sciency stuff", he also recalls most of the doctor things that Lanyon learned from university and isn't deterred by gross things and blood. He shares hyde's wanderlust and will run around town with him, though Elias prefers parks and nature over the slums of London, and he also enjoys the rooftops.
Timeline wise, Lanyon accidentally drinks the potion after all the blackfog and queen Lucy stuff, when they "kidnap" Hyde. Specifically, it happens right before Jekyll dumps all the HJ7 down the drain- like, right before. Lanyon kinda interrupts him doing that. Henry reenters the room in the middle of Lanyon's transformation, so he's there when Elias kinda "wakes up".
Anyways, please please PLEASE ask me questions about him, I'd love to answer them :3 also, I'm currently working on a fic for this!! The first chapter is almost done I think, I just need time to actually sit down and write.
Also jejvkekkvke character design is SO HARD, shout out to people who do it all the time. Also apologies if the skin looks off in any way, I've never really used colored pencils to color any characters, much less any colored characters, so I kinda had to figure it out as I went lmao.

@casinocats 's baby Hyde au drawings got me thinking:
Jekyll theorises that the reason why Hyde's so much younger than him is because he's spent a lot more time being good rather than evil. So what if Jekyll repressed his evil urges to such an extent that Hyde really did end up being a small child? Because think of the possibilities:
Baby Hyde tramples the little girl and the little girl tramples him right back.
Baby Hyde doesn't have to pay a fine but Enfield still wants to have a word with his 'parents' and follows Hyde to Jekyll's back door and is shook.
Enfield: "Is Dr. Jekyll your father?" Baby Hyde, realising his perfect reputation as Jekyll's gonna get fucked over if people think he's his illegitimate child: "No. Damn you."
Enfield to Utterson: I met the rudest, most unsettling child the other day-
Baby Hyde doesn't have a key to Jekyll's mansion's back door because he can't reach the keyhole. Poole has to let him in.
If he does have a house in Soho people are probably gonna assume he's a rich orphan whose parents were Jekyll's friends.
Baby Hyde tries to beat up some dude in Soho and nearly gets beaten up instead. Onlookers call for the dude's hanging.
Baby Hyde tries to Create Chaos At The Pub™ but he gets thrown out by the scruff the moment he steps inside.
Utterson still probably keeps track of most of the things Baby Hyde does.
Utterson: Jekyll you ought to discipline that child. Jekyll: dw, I can cut off all ties with him anytime I want. Utterson: 😳wait no-
Baby Hyde tries to bludgeon Carew with his fancy cane and Carew just goes "who gave you that," and then takes his cane and picks him up.
The only consequences he faces are people talking about how he needs to be caned for being unruly.
Baby Hyde isn't a wanted murderer so Jekyll can continue his potion medicine addiction indefinitely.
Baby Hyde, to Lanyon: do you want to learn the truth? If you learn it you can't unlearn it. Lanyon: No. Leave.

Night is day and day is night In a world that's lost its mind! Chapter 1
Summary: Jekyll always thought no one else could have something worse to keep a secret than he did but he will find out, others have things they choose to "hyde"
Oh, Robert was going to be so upset at him when they got back to his house!
Hyde ended up losing control Henry was able to wrench it back and return into his body, thankfully Edward had enough sense to rush into a motels bathroom before it got too bad, the visitors having been pissed off members of the black fog Bazaar who had been less than pleased to have their shows canceled early because the feds got led to their hiding spot and they nearly tore the blond to shreds before he ran for the nearest room with a lock and barricaded himself in and changed back.
Robert had managed to get the trio of Bazaar employees away from the door, using his alpha presence to force them out of his way, he despised using pheromones to get what he wanted, too much like an animal, he had confided in Henry one time, before they had chosen to become mates and he had never used them on the chemist once before or after.
Robert's father had not approved of them getting properly married, despite complimenting the omega on his work ethics, he still refused to bless a marriage between the two.
He had been the reason they bonded in secret, witnessed by a couple of trusted friends, even to this day he knew nothing, just assumed the two had managed to remain good friends.
If he only knew...
Henry still had to fight down giggles or a blush whenever the stern alpha ended up sitting on a chair or sofa they had...christened, and was sure Robert sat his father in said seats on purpose, the little subtle smirk he wore when the elder Lanyon sat down said it was intentional.
The omega had nearly bolted when the door opened and he saw his mate on the other end, staring with wide chocolate eyes before Robert had grabbed Henry's arm and pulled him out, not saying a word, somehow that was more frightening than if he had chosen to scream.
Couldn't he have just enjoyed getting one over on Hyde for ONCE!?
Sneaking out the back way proved easier than expected and not a word was said between the two, what could Henry possibly say to save his skin? Robert had obviously seen Hyde disappear into the bathroom and found just Jekyll inside with no available windows or any other methods of escape but the door, he was caught...what would ..could he say...
That he created Hyde in a poor attempt to cure the depression that nearly killed him back in school?
That the pest known as Edward Hyde lived rent-free in his brain till he drank a potion to change...and this same omega chose to unleash horrific monsters only the body-sharing omegas could see out of the said brain to torment him? All because he wanted to go to the mad scientist version of a mall?
He would be lucky if Robert did not demand a bond severance immediately! He knew those occurred over cases FAR less serious than this!
The alpha would no doubt survive the break, he was strong, but the chemist was sure he himself would come down with mating sickness...and die a slow and painful death of heartbreak.
Please forgive me, Robert...
The door opened and closed in a flash as soon as they made it to the porch of the Lanyon home and Henry noticed too late it was Roberts FATHERS house, and a chill ran down the omegas spine at the realization.
No...He couldn't possibly be about to...it was too cruel!!!
Robert was going to denounce him in front of his father and any servants who came looking...any way but this way! Henry knew his mate would be mad at him but he did not think he would be THIS mad!
The chemist found himself pulled inside and was gently sat on a sofa, Robert surprisingly sitting next to him, the other now facing Jekyll properly so his face was in view.
He was smiling
"This is amazing, why didn't you say anything? Wait...I know...you thought I would be mad" Robert still smiled as he looked sympathetic at the other man who just nodded dumbly confused "Don't worry father will certainly let us...make it official once I tell him you have your own ...little secret,"
Little secret?
"I will explain everything to my father and you go pick out a nice wine in the cellar, whatever you like, I'm certain he won't mind" Robert smiled wider and helped Henry to his feet and pointed towards the cellar and walked away when he heard the voice of the elder Lanyon in the other room and the split man found himself doing as he was asked and headed for the cellar.
'what are you doing?! We can get away now! He's faking being all happy about it so we won't escape well his pops calls the police!'
'Robert would not do that...he can't fake his emotions that well...I can tell by his eyes...he is happy...'
Edward went silent after that
Deeper and deeper into the cellar Jekyll went, where did they keep the wine? After the events of tonight he might have to bring up two bottles! And force himself not to drink one by himself...escaping three angry Bazaar benefactors by the skin of their teeth and finding out his mate had some dark secret of his own...
What could it possibly be? He always was a perfect alpha to him and others, charming, well-mannered, attentive, and handsome to boot, did he also dabble in dark science? He did co-own the society, but he never really seemed too interested in the goings about there.
Something wet squelched under his shoe, and looking down, the chemist went pale.
A bloodied severed hand lay on the stone floor, tools that had been previously ignored because of the chemist's thought process also hung on the walls, dark with rust or fresh blood that had not yet dried and Jekyll slapped a hand to his mouth to keep from screaming or throwing up.
Robert's voice drew his attention back to the enterance.
"Love? Did you grab the wine? I hope you did not trip down there, several items my father uses are sharp!"
This could not be...
This is a more modern AU so if you see references to up-to-date stuff that is why I can't write victorian to save my life and this will also be a dark comedy (with some grimmer stuff later on that I won't spoil ) so do not take any of this TOO seriously and let your own Hyde's take the forefront! Mine certainly is with this fic!
fun fact: an actor who played Jekyll on stage (back when the book was first published) act was apparently so convincing HE was a suspect for jack the ripper! (bet that was FUN for him...not)
PS: should Jekyll and Frankenstein be related here like they are in my "Son of Frankenstein" story?

Help! My daughter’s a Werewolf!
1 (you are here) : 2 : 3 (coming soon)
Taking a break from the Vampire AU because of a slight case of writer’s block. I’ve had this sitting around half-done for a while so I thought I’d finish it off and post it now that I’ve done a little development on it. The title is a reference to the knock-off knock-off movie “Help! My mummy’s a werewolf!” from Gravity Falls. This is very likely to be continued but I won’t put chapter notes until I add another chapter. Thanks to the TGS discord for reminding me to work on this AU!
Henry was minding his own business, wandering about the Society when suddenly he was faced with his two best friends, Rachel and Lanyon, arms and expressions looking quite crossed. Lanyon spoke up with a dramatic open-handed gesture towards Jekyll.
“Henry, this has been going on long enough, is Hyde your half-werewolf illegitimate son or not?” he asked pointedly, Jekyll just stared at the both of them, first being frightened at the confrontation but then simply being confused at the accusation.
“My… half-werewolf illegitimate son?” he repeated, unsure if he’d processed the statement correctly.
“Yes, there’s no point in hiding it any longer, Doctor, so just be out with it!” Rachel demanded.
“How would that even work? If I were his father I’d have had to conceive him in my teenage years, not to mention that if I knew I had a bastard child I would certainly tell you!” Jekyll protested.
A heavy knock pounded against the front door. The three halted their argument as Jekyll took the liberty of answering the door, not wishing to be left aside to continue a quieter argument with either of his friends. As he opened the door he decided that he was the best person to have answered, since Morcant was standing at the door beside a shorter figure with a deep hood covering their face, Morcant herself wearing a similar cloak that had seen far less care to maintain it than her companion. Upon seeing who it was, Lanyon made a sound that vaguely resembled a high-pitched harrumphh, whereas Rachel had opted for more of a quiet excited squeak.
“Ah, this is… strange” Jekyll said simply, “What brings you to London?” he asked, plastering a clearly fake, shuddery smile on his face.
“I’m here to tell you about your illegitimate child” she responded. Jekyll stared at her for a moment.
“You’re kidding…” he said, slumping against the door slightly, the arm pressed against it being the only thing keeping him from falling over.
“Not at all, Nora, say hello to your dad” she told the figure beside her, who pulled off their hood to reveal a half-werewolf hybrid girl with a fuzz of fur nowhere near as thick as Morcant’s that looked very much in the age range to be his daughter. Jekyll shoved a hand against his face and grimaced through it. He carefully looked back at Rachel and Lanyon and wasn’t pleased to find that Lanyon was staring daggers into his back and Rachel looked fit to burst with joy at her greatest dreams relating to Jekyll’s love life coming to fruition.
“You can’t expect me to believe this is my daughter?” Jekyll finally asked, developing an obvious annoyance at the circumstance.
“Believe it or not, she’s yours” she shrugged.
“So you don’t bother telling me for… I’m sorry, Nora was it? How old are you?”
“Fourteen”
“Fourteen years! Did you just forget that I might want to know I have a daughter for fourteen years?” he said, voice growing louder.
Some of the lodgers had heard the commotion and filtered out of their rooms and strangely enough, Frankenstein had also been intrigued by the racket.
“Look, she wanted to meet you and its her birthday so I figured it would be fine.” Morcant said, raising her hands defensively.
“Good lord, you could have at least sent a letter!”
Murmuring began to grow from the balconies that lined the lobby. “Oi, Jekyll, you never said you bedded a werewolf!” a voice called out. Countless others joined in, asking all manner of questions and inspiring a deep scarlet to form on Jekyll’s face as his well-kept secret was suddenly the most well-known piece of gossip in the whole building. He felt a hand on his shoulder and was anything but relieved to find it was Lanyon.
“Perhaps we should… discuss this… in more private quarters?” he suggested, raising a stern eyebrow at him.
“Er… yes of course” he turned to his guests “come with me, we’ll talk in my office” he said as he gestured for them to follow him to the stairs and through the looming door at the top of them. As they entered and Jekyll shut the door behind himself, the protests of the lodgers were muffled and subsequently died down and he internally grimaced at the looks he was getting from Lanyon and Rachel, who were livid at being shut out of the room.
Jekyll turned to the pair and stared at Morcant, searching for some sign that she was kidding and that this was all her way of asking him for some favour and be on her way. He was unfortunate enough to not see anything of the sort.
“I’m not kidding, you know, she’s your daughter,” Morcant said with her arms crossed and an eyebrow raised at him.
“You’ve had plenty of time to tell me, why now? Why not contact me first? Do you have any idea how bad this could be for me if word gets out I have an illegitimate child? Let alone a werewolf?”
“And do you have any idea how little I care? You know I’ve never been one for all of those strict rules of society that you people insist on keeping to.”
The girl, Nora, stepped closer to Morcant and placed a hand on her shoulder, looking at Jekyll pleadingly, “I’m sorry, uh, dad? Can I call you dad?”
Jekyll contemplated it for a moment, “Fine, but it’s Dr Jekyll should you ever need to address me in public, which I hope won’t be happening”
Her face lit up slightly, “Well, uh, Dad, I just… wanted to meet you and it was my birthday recently and I thought that I could find out about my human half. I understand if you don’t want anything to do with me, but I just wanted for you to at least know I existed…” she trailed off and held her arm to her side, looking at him expectantly.
Something tugged at Jekyll as he looked at her. The more he looked the more he couldn’t deny it. The way her nose stuck out like his own, the kink in her hair as it reached her shoulders, even the crook in her eyebrows were unmistakably features that insisted on showing up in his family’s features.
“I… suppose we can spend some time together… but the full moon is tomorrow, and the exhibition is coming up, you’d have to take a wolfsbane potion if you intend to stay.”
Morcant cocked her head slightly, “You know I don’t touch that stuff, Henry, if you’re gonna make us take wolfsbane I’m leaving,” Nora glanced at her from behind with alarm.
“What? I don’t wanna go home!” she quickly looked at Jekyll, “I’ll take wolfsbane, I promise, I’ll be on my best behaviour, mum even taught me about how humans act!”
Jekyll smirked despite the situation, “Knowing her what you’ve been taught is bound to need some tweaking.”
“I’m standing right here.”
“So you are. Fine, she can stay, but you have to go home if you’re not going to take a potion and you,” he pointed to Nora, “will have to let me do my work every day before I’m able to spend time with you.”
Nora’s face was simply glowing with excitement, “Oh! Thank you! I can’t wait!”
-
The room was eerily silent as he led the two out of his office and marched solemnly towards Lanyon, who was at the foot of the stairs on his own. The room was clear but something about how quiet it was told him that everyone who had likely been shooed off were watching from hidden spots, but they were doing an awfully good job of it if they were. Lanyon just gave him a look of such annoyance that Jekyll was thankful for the silence.
“Robert! Our friend Nora is going to be staying with us for a bit. I’ll take care of everything, though!” he said, desperately trying to be as cheery as possible, but the lack of change in Lanyon’s face made it clear that he was seeing right through it, Jekyll dropped his facade and pleaded “Look, I know we need to discuss this but I promise I’ll take care of everything.” he waited expectantly for an answer.
“I’m going to be calm about this, but you’re right, we’re going to have a very long discussion.” He didn’t seem to want to continue the conversation, “Do what you need to, I’ll be in your office,” he walked up the way Jekyll had come without another word.
The walk across the lobby was brisk but it took an eternity. Despite Morcant’s utter lack of being being impressed by the vibrant displays strewn about the room, Nora was glancing about with such pure awe that Jekyll couldn’t help but feel a twinge of pride blossoming within him. It felt nice to know that to some degree, his love of science had been passed down to his daughter without any of his influence. The door seemed to creak more than usual and he pulled it open and let Morcant pass. She took the offer and turned back to Jekyll and Nora, paying more attention to the latter. She stepped forward pulled her into a big hug, making sure to use her abnormally strong muscles to squeeze her tight.
“I trust you’ll only do what I would do, behave yourself,” she pulled back and looked at her with a mischievous grin, “but not too well, when I come back I don’t want to find you’ve been turned into one of these posh fuddy-duddies.”
“Oh, mother, I wouldn’t dream of it!” Nora exaggerated, placing a dramatically ginger hand to her chest.
“I’ll be back in about a week, Henry. Any past connections we may have will be ignored if I come back and find something has happened to my girl,” she said sternly.
“Of course”
“Good! Until we meet again, Henry Jekyll,” she said with a grin that inspired a nostalgic blush on Jekyll’s face as she turned and walked away without a care in the world. The fond moment was lost the moment the door creaked shut again and Jekyll remembered the encounter he had waiting in his office and the very real problem of a 14 year-old half-werewolf bastard daughter staying with him for the next week to add to the 5 course meal of misery he was being served by the wonderful struggles of London life. The howling laughter of Hyde from the back of his thoughts was anything but reassuring.
What on earth had he just been talked into?

...y’all have seen “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”, right?
If not, here it is on Youtube, it’s only 45 minutes long and parodies the superhero/supervillain genre, the songs are amazing and overall it is a delight.
Anyway, here are a couple ideas for a TGS "Sing-Along” AU. Beware of spoilers!
Edward Hyde (or "Eddie") is a young mad scientist trying to make a name for himself as a villain, but a little scarecrow of a man who's no more than twenty is difficult to take seriously no matter how well he monologues. With the aid of magic science drugs, he is able to change his face and form to that of Dr. Sulphur, who we would know in canon as Henry Jekyll.
(Sulphur sounds like "suffer" and it’s associated with Hell. Molten sulfur is red, which fits with the aforementioned Hell theme and is Jekyll’s signature color. And I'm pretty sure the potion canonically has sulfur in it? He uses the ph spelling because it’s Fancy.)
Since the setting is so different, I don’t think Eddie would have enough of an internal crisis in the beginning to try and “separate good from evil”, so the potion just changes his appearance and voice.
"Dr. Sulphur” looks old enough to have a PhD! The news won’t call him a millennial! The Evil League of Evil might actually take him seriously!
The ELoE is headed by Moreau, or maybe one of his creations who snapped and ate him and took his place.
Rachel is Eddie’s roommate, she has minor heating/cooling powers that she uses to bake. She’s supportive of his dream to be a villain, but a bit too quick to suggest murder as a solution.
Jasper takes the place of Penny, and since this is a modern AU, uses they/them pronouns. (I seem to remember Sabrina saying something like that.) They're trying to get signatures for an animal shelter, in keeping with canon Jasper's interest in cryptozoology.
Jasper and Eddie are around the same age in this AU, since Eddie is a twentysomething who sometimes pretends to be thirtysomething rather than a thirtysomething who sometimes pretends to be twentysomething.
Frankenstein and Creature (here called Adam) are the “Captain Hammer” of this AU. Adam does the punching and Frankenstein does the showboating.
Frankenstein believes that by playing the part of hero, she can draw out and defeat "fake" scientists who have impure motives such as money and fame. She has access to better equipment and materials in this modern au, so Adam is human-passing, though he is still noticeably Large and Strong and Eerie. He doesn’t share his mother’s enthusiasm for their line of work, but stays by her side because he doesn’t really have any other connections.
I don't think Jasper and Creature have ever interacted in canon? But I'm weak for the "misanthrope character is soft for the sweetheart character" dynamic so they’re friends.
Adam figures out Eddie was Sulphur fairly quickly, but doesn’t take advantage of that knowledge because he is Tired and doesn’t want to start drama.
Frankenstein finds out eventually and absolutely gives Eddie shit over the fact that Jasper is bonding more with her son than with him.
Lanyon is Johnny Snow maybe idk. I like him but there’s just not a lot of characters in the musical.
Anyway, that’s “Dr. Sulphur’s Sing-Along Blog”. I might add more later or I might not, either way feel free to add your own ideas!
