Cryptid of the Day: Lake Tanganyika Monster

Description: In 1893, a Mpala missionary claimed to have seen a sea serpent in Lake Tanganyika, Dem. Republic of Congo. It was seen again in 1907, described as tusked, and in 1928, described as saurian. Unidentifiable two claw tracks were found around the lake shores 

The Lake Tanganyika Monster is an African lake monster found in the countries of Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, and Zambia. It's thought of as a number of unknown animals, being described as tusked, saurian, serpentine and shark-like.

The Pamba is a cryptid purported to live in Lake Tanganyika in Tanzania. It has been described as a giant fish with a mouth so large it can swallow a boat and its crew whole.

While Lake Tanganyika is large enough to sustain such a creature, some have suggested that Pamba is nothing more than a Tanganyika lates, which can grow up to six feet in length.

Для вас читатели моего блога, знакомство со страной Конго. Конго небольшая страна в Центральной Африке, население около 4 млн человек. Почти половина населения  дети до 14 лет и там бедность и куча проблем. Причем проблемы постоянные и разнообразные: то голод, то война, то вирус Эбола. По данным на 2000 год младенческая смертность в стране сто пять процентов Так что всё свое свободное время люди заняты выживанием. Вот недавно вроде бы пережили вспышку распространения вируса Эбола, сейчас за западные деньги пытаются этот вирус уничтожить. По разным оценкам в Конго одна целая две десятых миллиона человек, зараженных СПИД и ВИЧ. Климат экваториальный, жаркий и влажный на большей части северо-запада страны и более прохладный в южной, восточной и центральной областях. Растительный мир богат благодаря обширной речной системе. Благодатная почва, богатая плодородным илом реки Конго, покрыта пышной растительностью, тропическими лесами. В стране находятся несколько заповедников. Через страну протекает знаменитая во всем мире крупная река с одноименным названием - Конго и расположено не менее знаменитое озеро Танганьика. Животный мир представлен всеми типичными представителями африканского континента. На лианах раскачиваются, издавая пронзительные крики шимпанзе и мартышки. В густой листве порхают разноцветные попугаи. В реках плескаются крокодилы и гиппопотамы. Только в Заире водится окапи, травоядное животное семейства жирафов, которое стало национальным символом страны. На юге, в обширных саваннах, пасутся стада антилоп, бродят леопарды и львы. В заключении добавлю, что Конго называют заколдованной землей, где обитают мифические чудовища и каннибалы.

Only in Zaire is okapi, the herbivore of the giraffe family, which has become the national symbol of the country. In the south, in the vast savannas, herds of antelopes graze, roaming leopards and lions. In conclusion, I add that Congo is called the enchanted land, where mythical monsters and cannibals live.)
