Koli National Park is situated in the remote North Karelia region of Finland. It is an incredible destination in both winter and summer. 11. favourite native writer/poet?

This might be a tad cliche, but I adore Tove Jansson. She is best known for creating the Moomins. She was a swedish-speaking Finn, author, painter and illustrator. I've loved her Moomin books since I was a child. I even have a Moomin tattoo! Tove was also a queer icon and there are many queer themes present in her work, including the Moomin books.

28. does your country have a lot of lakes, mountains, rivers? do you have favourites?

Whoo boy 🌊 Finland has the nickname "the land of a thousand lakes". Technically there are about 180 000+ lakes! Finland is mainly forest dotted with a shitton of lakes, and rivers too. We don't have any big mountains though. Our highest peak is 1,3 km (Halti) up in Lapland. My fave lakes are the ones I have spent most time around: Pielinen in Eastern Finland and Päijänne in the Midlands. Our biggest lake Saimaa is gorgeous too, and home to saimaannorppa. 🥰
