Hey there!
Are you alright?
I'd like to hear from you and know that you're safe and sound ;_;
Why is this a reenactment of Tom's fucking childhood 😰
Ask from @poosste: Hi Katrin. I really do hope that you're going to be okay. Stay safe 🙏
Ask from @themoonfoundmyfantasy: It’s been a while friend, how are you? x
Another ask: Hi! I hope you're okay ❤️ I'll be sad if anything happens to you. I'll continue to pray for you. It's true many people forgot about the war because of the new other war happening too. But everyday, I will always think of you and how strong you've survived. And how you're still writing despite it all. Really inspiring indeed.
Another ask: Please can you give us a sign you are okay?? It’s been a while!!!
Another ask: i really hope you’re okay :(
------
Hi! As always, thank you all so much for worrying and caring about me <3 @homunculusdm-blog, some parallels between what Tom lived through and what I'm going through will definitely make it into ATLWETD - I'm very interested in portraying the contrast between his and Harry's reactions! And who knows, it might actually be healing for me to describe everything like this, in a story. The first anon, I'm very grateful for your words! Very often, I don't feel strong at all, but then it's a deeply subjective thing, and I'm happy if I can inspire anyone.
There were a few bombings since I posted the chapter, but this time, the reason for my absence was actually good. It's my birthday soon, I'm turning 30, and my mother, my brother and I went on vacation for a couple of days to a safer part of Ukraine. It was such a wonderful time. I planned to respond to some asks and comments there, plus to write my fics, but honestly, I got completely lost in all the nature and peace. I felt like I was in some other country - everything was so lovely, soothing, and quiet - just the forest and the mountains. My brother and I rode a thing called the Alpine coaster, it was so fun. And I got to swim in a hotel's swimming pool - it's been a while, and I love swimming.

Coming home to Kyiv was almost sad, though I missed my pets a lot. I feel really well-rested now and eager to start getting more things done!

"Ukraine, struggling with the same post-Soviet legacy as Russia, proved something else: Freedom and democracy are possible but only when challenges are recognized, faced, and overcome. Time after time these past 30 years, Ukrainians have done what Russians have not: prevented any one figure from gaining total control, defending the outcome of free elections, while accepting that their country would benefit from friendly cooperation with its neighbors. None of this happens automatically; all of it depends upon taking responsibility and taking risks. When Zelensky chose to stay in Kyiv a year ago, he was doing (as he told me) what he felt he had to do. But no larger force made him do it. He did it as a person taking a risk and taking responsibility."
I love Timothy Snyder ❤️

Iryna and her Zaporozhian Cossack boyfriend Mykola. ❤️
During the 16th century, Mykola emerged as the Zaporozhian Sich (a Cossack State in Southern Ukraine). This state was formed by Ukrainians who had fled Polish rule, and they would play an important rule in halting foreign incursions into the Polish Commonwealth. The tensions between Poland and the free Cossacks ultimately resulted in a Cossack uprising against Polish rule, which would culminate in the Cossack liberation of Kyiv. With Iryna liberated from Poland, she and Mykola would come to represent the newly declared Cossack Hetmanate.
Unfortunately, issues between them would arise. Mykola’s starchly independent spirit and growing resentment towards Iryna’s dominance in the state would spur arguments, and foreign powers would soon find ways to exploit their problems. There would be civil wars and periods of foreign rule amid attempts to reunify their state, but the unfortunate end ultimately was the Russian Empire annexing Ukraine and explicitly ordering the execution of the defiant Mykola.
He lived and went on to stay a headache of a region.

How are you doing now? I hope you and your family are well❤️😞 May this whole nightmare reach its ending.
Another ask: Please let us know you’re okay!!!
Another ask: are you alright? 🥺
Another ask: Are you ok ?
Another ask: When do you predict your Black Butler fanfiction Will be completed? It is no rush at all by the way! Take all the time you need. I have been following since the beginning and I will continue to follow until the end. I’m just curious about your plans and how long it will take you to lay them out.
------------------------------
Hey, thank you all for support! I'm doing well enough - I spent almost a week at my brother's new place, which has no Internet yet. We were playing Sims 4 - it's been ages since I've tried this game, even though I hold much love for it. It was fun!
The morning after the drone attacks, my city was attacked by ballistic missiles - it happened so fast that the alarms sounded only after the fact. Fortunately, thanks to our foreign partners, some of our air defense systems are modern enough to work automatically and intercept missiles like this, so the missile that reached Kyiv was shot down. Still, waking up to explosions and seeing the smoke from interception in the sky isn't my idea of a good morning.
I deliberately included a Black Butler question in this post because it's been on my mind throughout the week. In regard to the new chapter, I'm stuck for now because I've been getting a lot of work plus there is a final plot point I'm still figuring out. But I decided to maybe break the chapter into two parts like I did before and post the first half now and the second one in a week or two, whenever I finally finish it.
As for the story as a whole, unfortunately, I cannot really give even approximate estimations! It'll be years for sure, I haven't even reached S2 yet, and after that, I plan to write multiple post-canon chapters.

remembering the time i wrote a portfolio about ukraine while i was in germany so i could get my final grade and my teacher gave me 13/15 point on it and wrote me a whole ass LETTER explaining why he thought i was too extreme. here’s the first few sentences!! (translated from german so some things r probably getting lost in translation lmao)
“dear anna, your portfolio about your home country was amazing — the portrayal of kyiv was very interesting. however, nationalism is a very dangerous thing”
anywya i didn’t read after he called me a nationalist and ripped the letter up <3
i didn’t even say anything bad i just said that russia was a state based on colonialism and brutality, like did he want me to lie?? 💀💀
was i supposed to be like “oh yeah russia is sooooo great ‼️‼️❤️❤️ i LOVEEEE the multiple genocides they committed on ukrainian soil! i, as a ukrainian, think those genocides are actually SOOOOOOOO cute fr 😍😍”

Thanks to Ukrainian drones, the Russian guided missile corvette Ivanovets is now sleeping with the fishes. BTW, great vid above! 🇺🇦❤️
Ukraine thought to have sunk Russian warship near occupied Crimea
Ukrainian forces are believed to have sunk the Russian Ivanovets warship near occupied Crimea in a sophisticated overnight attack by multiple sea drones, demonstrating Kyiv’s expanding power in the Black Sea. Ukraine’s military intelligence published a grainy video showing several sea drones attacking the Russian corvette, ending with three dramatic images showing it listing, exploding and sinking into the water. Ukraine said the boat had been sunk, as did leading Russian military bloggers. Hours later, western officials said they believed the warship had been destroyed in an attack that used long range uncrewed drones. [ ... ] Russia did not immediately comment on the incident, but a number of pro-Kremlin military bloggers close to Moscow confirmed that the Ivanovets warship was hit. [ ... ] Although Ukraine began the war with no navy, scuttling its only frigate to prevent it from falling into Russian hands, Kyiv has gradually pushed back on Moscow’s early dominance of the Black Sea through long range missile attacks and the innovative use of sea drones.
Considering that the Vermont National Guard probably has more military ships than Ukraine, the Ukrainian Navy now terrifies the Russian Black Sea fleet. There's little Russian presence in the western part of the sea these days.
The Ivanovets probably thought it was safe where it was anchored. It was in a body of water called Lake Donuzlav in occupied Crimea. Though it is more like a bay with a narrow opening to the Black Sea.
Tumblr media
^^^ That opening is just 435 meters wide, a little over 4.5 US football fields. But Ukrainian sea drone pilots managed to navigate several of their kamikaze vessels into the bay without being detected up to that point.
The sinking of the Ivanovets is just one of several bits of good news for Ukraine in the past few days.
Putin toady Viktor Orbán, the homophobic leader of Turkey Hungary, was forced to back down from his threat to block €50 billion in aid to Ukraine.
EU agrees €50bn package for Ukraine as Viktor Orbán bows to pressure
A robust and united position among EU member states convinced Viktor Orbán to end his “blackmail” and support a €50bn (£43bn) funding package for Ukraine, European prime ministers have said. The Hungarian prime minister, who had been vowing to block the funds since December, performed one of the fastest U-turns seen at a leaders’ summit after six weeks of brinkmanship. There was relief that the deal was finally done but also a sense of fury among leaders who had been dragged to Brussels for the second time in as many months to try to get the package over the line after Orbán blocked the aid in December. The Finnish prime minister, Petteri Orpo, said: “Nobody can blackmail 26 countries of the EU. Our values were not for sale.” Donald Tusk, the Polish prime minister, who said he had “nothing nice” to say to the Hungarian prime minister, warned there would be no reward for Orbán or anyone who had tried to solicit “rotten compromises”.
Also, Dark Brandon strikes again! President Biden is using his discretionary powers as commander-in-chief to get some military aid to Ukraine while the House Putin Caucus at the direction of sex offender Donald Trump continues to block Biden's $61 billion aid package.
First Ecuador, Now Greece: Joe Biden Is Finding More And More Countries To Help Him Arm Ukraine
“Ring-trade.” Remember that term. Increasingly, it’s how U.S. president Joe Biden is arming Ukraine. He did it with Ecuador. Now he’s doing it with Greece, too. A ring-trade is, in essence, a circular swap. One country pays or arms a second country so the second country can arm a third country. Germany pioneered the ring-trade—Ringtausch—for supporting Ukraine, most notably giving to... The Czech Republic: 14 Leopard 2 tanks and an engineering vehicle in exchange for the Czech Republic having given to Ukraine potentially dozens of T-72 tanks; Greece: 40 Marder fighting vehicles so that Greece could donate to Ukraine 40 BMP-1 fighting vehicles; Slovakia: 15 Leopard 2A4s to compensate for 30 BVP-1 fighting vehicles Slovakia donated to Ukraine. Slovenia: 45 military-grade heavy trucks so that Slovenia would give to Ukraine 28 M-55S tanks. The United States with its greater stocks of old weapons eventually could surpass Germany as a ring-trader. And it has every reason to do so. For four months now, a small contingent of pro-Russia Republican lawmakers, led by the extremist speaker of the U.S. House Mike Johnson, has blocked $61 billion in new U.S. government funding for Ukraine’s war effort. In early January, Ecuadorian president Daniel Noboa revealed in a radio interview that Ecuador would give to the United States “scrap” weapons in exchange for new weapons—worth $200 million—that the United States would provide at a later date. The United States then would donate the “scrap” to Ukraine. Some of that old hardware apparently shipped aboard an Antonov An-124 airlifter on Jan. 25. [ ... ] According to Greek newspaper Kathimerini and other media, the Biden administration offered the government in Athens three 87-foot Protector-class patrol boats, two Lockheed Martin C-130H airlifters, 10 Allison T56 turboprop engines for Lockheed P-3 patrol planes plus 60 M-2 Bradley fighting vehicles and a consignment of transport trucks. In exchange for this largess, the Americans want the Greeks to donate more weapons to the Ukrainians. “We continue to be interested in the defense capabilities that Greece could transfer or sell to Ukraine,” Blinken wrote. The Greek government reportedly already has earmarked old weapons for onward transfer to the government in Kyiv. As with Ecuador, the trade could involve air-defense equipment: S-300 and Hawk long-range missiles and launchers and Tor and Osa short-range missiles and launchers. This indirect U.S. support of Ukraine via ring-trades is necessary because, starting in October, Republicans in the U.S. Congress made it clear they probably never will approve additional direct military aid to Ukraine. [ ... ] [L]ook for Biden to get more creative as Republican intransigence persists. The president even could donate excess defense articles directly to Ukraine, and in large quantities, assuming Ukraine or some other country pays for shipping.

this year broke my heart and left it lying in pieces. the worst thing one can imagine become daily news reports. death, ruins, destruction, that godforsaken air-raid siren, constant fear and anxiety but there were also love and hope, pride and joy - there was everything.
i would never forget that day, the shaking of my hands and worried voices of my parents. that first week or two when you don’t know what will happen next. than there were 5 month of daily volunteering through which I hopefully helped people who needed it the most.
there were also two semesters of uni, the interest in which I lost a long time ago but still couldn’t dare to let it go. there is now only one semester left and I will be a bachelor, what happens next? who knows? I hate myself for thinking the worst, for not knowing what to do with myself, not trying in general - I will try to change it, I will, I must.
this year was one that almost gave a reason to keep going. those tragedies became a point of no return - my worldview changed completely. there are things that will haunt me for the rest of my life and there were people who will be with me forever.
the only thing I want to talk about now is my country. my beloved motherland. my people. my greatest support. my steel. nobody believed in us, no one thought we would withstand but we did. as we always do. we showed the world what courage looks like, what actually great culture looks like - the one that blossoms even under the rocket fires not the one that destroys museums and theatres - what great people look like.
I’m eternally grateful to all of the defenders for everything: for every lived moment, for every eaten meal and coffee, for every read book and concert. you give everything and much more for our future and all I hope for is that my support is at least a ted helpful.
eternal glory to all the fallen heroes. to everyone who gave their lives for peaceful and victorious Ukraine.
there were so many things that keep appearing inside my brain right now. that first zelenskyy address on 24th. bucha and irpin’. me and my friend making the most random playlist during the night because we just couldn’t sleep. azovstal’ and mariupol. roman ratushnyi. eurovision win. kremenchuk. vinnytsia. when I started watching football again. kharkiv. mykolaiv. liberated kherson. mass graves in izium. our soldier castrated and shot by russians. bavovna in belgorod. olenivka. patron the dog. bakmut. first hug with my friend from kyiv. severodonetsk. return of mariupol defenders. ukrainian football even with the air threat. finished course paper during the blackouts. sunflowers. my skies covered in smoke. cyber bullying of russians. zhadan as leitmotif. pain. so much pain. and hatred. unfathomable hatred toward everything russian.
that is not even the whole list. hopefully next year will be more about love and joy than about pain and hate but even if the world has something more in stall for Ukraine and Ukrainians - we will withstand. that’s it, nothing less, nothing more.
thank you for everyone here who was engaged in our own informational warfare. thank you for sharing information and donations, thank you for kind word and constant support and also thank you to those anons that thought that Ukrainian thick skin could be pierced with cruel words and propaganda stories - everything was well and truly appreciated.
love you all. here is to victorious 2023. victorious for the one who doesn’t give up, victorious for the fighters and warriors and for those who stands on their side. to the other side of the world: you will lose. shamefully and disgracefully without a single droplet of tears from us.
glory to Ukraine! ❤️

Szeszgyár ❤️
Tumblr media
Margit and members of Szeszgyár began mobilizing emergency housing and food for people directed to them from contacts at Kyiv Pride, Budapest Pride, and OMOH, a kinky queer techno collective.
Garden work doubles as political practice. By decommodifying their relationship with the land and leaving room for rewilding, Szeszgyár is helping to redefine public land use in Budapest, where manicured city parks restrict social activity and discourage the growth of local biodiversity.
On any given day, a small fleet of mismatched knives thud against wooden cutting boards, peeling and dissecting knobby root vegetables. Neighbors, mostly queer and trans volunteers, rinse fresh herbs and lentils, dust fistfuls of spices, and stir bubbling pots that splurt hot vegetable broth into the air.
Mi erre a jó kifejezés? Kosz-kultúra? Vegán Roncsfilm Kommunizmus?
A Szeszgyár a fotelszociológusok kincsesbányája.
