Thought I'd reprint an old papercut-inspired block designed by @ghostbees and carved by myself - we used the gold-on-black version as our Xmas/New Year's cards in 2021.

{2023} We will judge your soul
(the beginning of Cinema Strange's https://lucaslanthier.bandcamp.com/track/aboriginal-anemia popped around my head as i was working on this; old loves have been extremely intrusive lately)

Cut-paper work created by the 17-year-old Anna Maria Garthwaite in 1707. She would grow up to be one of the most talented silk designers of her generation.
Garthwaite made it by first covering one side of a sheet of brown paper with black pigment. She then cut out the picture using either a scalpel-like knife or very fine scissors and pierced the surface of the paper in places with a needle or a pin. To add interest to the surface, she cut off some slivers of paper and stuck them down elsewhere in the picture, brown side up, as for example the branches of one of the trees. The cut-out paper picture was then laid onto a sheet of very white vellum to make all the details as visible as possible.

Okay, wow this took me a ridiculous amount of time to post. Not just in the making process, but also my horrible posting procrastination. It sucks!
And I just so happen to post it on Christmas. Funny.
Anyway enjoy this collage that I made from magazine cutouts that I cut using an exacto knife (is that how you spell it?) and I wish I could've put more effort in but I wasn't feeling like it.
@maxphilippa I hope you enjoy this long overdue art piece and I'm sorry if it's a little bit unclear because magazine paper is shiny. Happy holidays.
