Dulcisregnum Dorm Trivia:
Tumblr media
I listen to ONE Kyary Pamyu Pamyu song and this is where I am 30 minutes later (trivia under the cut)
When it comes to the atmosphere naturally th dorm has a “candyland” feel to it
Since the dorm is made of sweets (mostly some some limitations and magic added) littering is heavily frowned upon.
If a student ends up eating the candy, there are many special magical side effects (think Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) that will encourage them to NEVER pull that shit again (Dorm leader’s words, best to not fool around and find out).
Things like water appear thanks to general magic.
The dorm smells like a literal Dairy Queen and the air actually tastes sweet.
Tumblr media
Unlike other dorms Dulcisregnum requires magic to change the tracks, meaning the entire dorm can switch looks/climate for the sake of track variety ::3.
Since Vincent is the most magically skilled in the dorm she is the one who is in charge of changing the dorm layout while Temperence makes sure Vincent doesn’t fuck up and accidentally magically kick all the students out of the dorm….again
so far, the dorm has taken on around five different looks; The default track that mimics sugar rush, an ice cream mountain themed track, a chocolate waterfall themed track, a rainbow taffy themed track that goes through cotton candy clouds and a konpeito track that makes the dorm look like it's set in outer space. (More can always be added)
Tumblr media
Out of all the dorms Dulcisregnum is the second most dangerous not only due to the track changes but also the general nature of the candy landscape (double stripe branches in the candy cane forest causing students to fall and get hurt, taffy swamps that nearly calcify unlucky ones who fall in and the dreaded nesquik sand).
^Crowley claims no one has died in Dulcisregnum but that doesn’t explain why the laffy taffy vines have a mind of their own.
After races the dorm members can relax at a relaxing all-purpose cafe in the castle grounds (other dorm students are welcome but Temperence doesn’t advertise it as much).
The dorm has a hidden factory where all the karts are built, if you get on Temp’s good side, he could show you around and possibly let you build your own kart.
There are 25 karts for the first years (they naturally take turns) and 50 karts for the second years. The third years all get their own specialized kart.
Tumblr media
The races that are held in a general event are divided into seven categories: 1st year race, 2nd year race, 3rd year race, duo team races, item mania, battles and vehicular sports.
The first 3 races are pretty much self explanatory, duo team races have students pair up from whatever year to race as a team on special karts made for two people.
^Item mania is when the entire track is LITTERED with item sugar cubes ready to either help you or deter other racers.
^Battles are basically when all racers are sorted into two teams and either have to collect the most amount of gum drops on the course or survive with a limited amount of candles on the back of their kart before the timer ends (think Mario kart wii battles).
Tumblr media
When it comes to entertainment for the racing events Temp usually hires pop groups or artists from the Glace Duchy to give said artist more notoriety since the events are live streamed.
Currently the dorms magicam account (co-managed by Vincent and Terrence) has over 500K followers.
Thanks to said live streams Temp has been able to get sponsors to help fund the racing events (did you REALLY think CROWLEY was giving this dorm any money?).
Thanks to said sponsors Temp has been working hard to form a racing team out of NRC that can allow students from the dorm to showcase their skills among actual racers at actual events.

TEENAGE MUTANT SIBLINGS: THE BEGINNING
Mikey is the oldest at age 17, and is a Scorpion mud turtle.
Donnie is the second oldest at age 15, and is a Black softshell turtle.
Raph is the second youngest at 14 (and ten hours!!), and is a Black knobbed map turtle.
Leo is the youngest at 14, and is a Blanding's turtle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
^ in age order
They all have human designs because of cloaking magic, and Splinter is still a human named Hamato Hiroshi.
Mikey is a trans man (he/him, 6'1)
Donnie is agender (they/them, 5'7)
Raph is a trans girl (she/her, 5'1)
and Leo doesn't care about gender (any pronouns, 5'5)
Mikey is bi, Donnie is a lesbian, Raph is bi with a preference for women and Leo is aroace.
The main villian is not shredder, nor Karai.
It is a very powerful yōkai who found out that the american government experimented on a human and four baby turtles, before the lab "mysteriously" blew up and the results were deemed inconclusive.
Hamato Karai is Hiroshi's older sister, and is the person he called after being experimented on by the american government in an attempt to make indestructible supersoldiers. He moves back to Japan and lives close to her in Osaka. She is the cool aunt. It is her.
Hiroshi is a single dad raising four mutant teenagers, and teaches them ninjustu in case anything bad happens in the future. (Which. It will.)
Mikey uses nunchaku as well as a kusari-fundo, Donnie uses a metal bō staff outfitted with hidden blades that's painted to look uncannily like wood, Raph uses tonfa as well as sai, and Leo uses dual katanas with hidden tantō in his belt.
Mikey's fashion sense is very bright and flowy, taking inspiration from harajuku streetwear. He loves anything bright and comfortable, with as much freedom to move in as possible. His fashion icons are Myspace Scene Kings/Queens, A Certain Kpop Idol (Jung Hoseok.), and Lil Nas X.
Donnie's fashion sense is basically just goth, techwear, and cybergoth in various shades of purple, black, and maybe sometimes indigo. Their fashion icons are Ye Olde Myspace Cybergoths, Vkei idols, and young Donatella Versace.
Raph's fashion sense is deceptively cutesy. Anything pink, fluffy, comfy and lolita-inspired. She wears bike shorts under every outfit, and is adept at fighting in any kind of outfit, though she's always sad if one gets ruined. And then she beats up the person who ruined it. Her biggest style icons are Princess Peach, Strawberry Shortcake and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.
Leo's fashion sense is very androgynous, with inspirations from mode fashion, academia and classic 2000's aesthetics. Their fashion icons are David Bowie, Yohji Yamamoto, and (according to Raph) "Every librarian ever."
All of them are blasian, and ended up moving to New York with their father and aunt when Mikey was 15. They currently live in Brooklyn.

Hii, An! For the fashion ask game, how about: 2, 3, 11, 22 and 27? C:
(referring to this, asks always open!)
Heya, thanks for asking >< it's long so under the cut it goes!
2. who are some of your style icons?
as a kid, i really loved avril lavigne's music and style, so i naturally started to love the way she dressed. she used to have a brand called abbey dawn, and although it was my least favorite album, i really liked her "the best damn thing" vibes. i had always liked scene fashion, not knowing what it was called; i liked loud colors, clashing patterns, etc. specifically, in this case, i LOVED the combination of pink and black, of pop and punk, of girly and messy - (not from the same album, but to quote one of her songs "i am a motherfucking princess, you still love me").
Tumblr media Tumblr media
not too much later, i got into lady gaga's music too, and of course, her fashion style blew my mind. i loved how she was so experimental, not giving a damn about what others might say of her. my favorite era of her was "the fame" (and again, quoting a song from another album, "to crash the critc saying 'is it right or is it wrong?'").
Tumblr media Tumblr media
my current style, at a first sight, is very different from those two, but i think the core remains the same - they taught me that fashion is a way of expression.
as i started growing up, i also discovered j-pop and k-pop so i blame kyary pamyu pamyu and girls generation in that sense (i miss ~2013 kpop era orz). again, full of colors, kind of in-your-face feel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and then- i discovered lolita fashion and i loved it (as well as other j-fashion styles). my first lolita icon was a girl who had a blog on blogspot. this year i tried to search for it but it's no longer there q.q nowadays, i follow a lot of people whose styles i love, so i have a lot of style icons i guess. it'd be hard to name them all, that's why i did a little timeline with my very first inspirations.
3. what piece would you consider to be your best find?
umm possibly my ichigo millefeuille skirt!!! i got it second hand for a pretty good price ^^
Tumblr media
11. what are your favorite shoes?
converse all star chuck taylor!!! i have owned them since i was 10. when they get old, i buy a new pair. i can't live without them. i have owned many black pairs, a black with white stars pair (which i used to wear with hot pink lace on one foot and cyan lace on the other, in full lilia vanrouge fashion), and i currently have a pink pair and a purple pair. they are both pretty torn apart, so i should buy a new pair some time soon. can't decide on the color tho...
22. what do you wear on a comfy day?
so most of my days because i almost don't go out haha. i just wear sweatpants, a t-shirt, and a hoodie. yes i can dress normal sometimes too!
27. do you ever diy your clothes?
no, not at all. i am very messy with manual stuff. sadly, i am also a perfectionist, and that is a bad combination. i would like to learn to sew with a machine but well, i have yet to find the time to go to classes for that and all...
anyway if you read until here, thank you! i'm sorry that it was so long, i just love fashion and can't stop talking about it ;;

Albums That I Listened to in April 2024
Tumblr media
This month started out a little slow and then went wicked fast in terms of how motivated I was to listening to albums. I largely attribute this to a depressive episode that I was dealing with starting in late March and going through part of early April. Once I had the energy to actually listen to music, I went through albums in pretty rapid succession, and I was done with listening to all twelve by about halfway through the month (So much for saying that I needed to pace myself in March's post. 😅). Hopefully, I actually take my time more with this project in May.
Here's what I listened to this past month:
Crashlanded - Madeline Edwards (2022)
Love in Constant Spectacle - Jane Weaver (2024)
Spirit of Eden - Talk Talk (1988)
Speaking in Tongues - Talking Heads (1983)
Trail of Flowers - Sierra Ferrell (2024)
Oracular Spectacular - MGMT (2007)
Pamyu Pamyu Revolution - Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (2012)
The Colour of Spring - Talk Talk (1986)
Cheese - Stromae (2009)
Fabiana Palladino - Fabiana Palladino (2024)
Under the Pink - Tori Amos (1994)
Come Around and Love Me - Jalen Ngonda (2023)
If I were to rank these albums, here's how I'd do it:
Spirit of Eden: As someone who tends to gravitate towards art pop, I had always meant to get into Talk Talk, but never really delved into any album of theirs until now. Oh my god, was I missing out! This album is an absolute journey from start to finish and the instrumentation and transitions, both within and in between songs, is incredible. I just know when I listened to this that these tracks sounded amazing performed live. On top of that, Mark Hollis (Rest in peace) is a phenomenal singer and lyricist. The emotionality in his voice is palpable and really adds to how powerful these tracks are. Talk Talk is truly an underrated band and anyone who is interested in art pop or is trying to get into more 80s music absolutely must listen to this album. 10/10
2. Under the Pink: Tori Amos is an artist of whom I highly respect and adore, but I also haven't really gotten into a full album of hers before. Only her sophomore album, Under the Pink manages to be sonically cohesive without sacrificing any of the unique personalities of each track. I thought it was interesting how the album goes back and forth between telling fictional stories as vignettes and giving the listener glimpses into Tori's own life. Based on what I've listened to so far, this is definitely among her most underrated albums. 8/10
3. The Colour of Spring: Since I absolutely loved Spirit of Eden when I listened to it, I decided that I should give another one of Talk Talk's albums a try. I think that Spirit of Eden is the better of these two albums, but The Colour of Spring is phenomenal in its own right. I love the little details like the children's choir on "Happiness is Easy" or the harmonica on "Living in Another World." On top of that, tracks like "April 5th" and "Life's What You Make It" are incredible. To me, this is just about at the same level as Under the Pink. Between their two albums, it's clear that Talk Talk were on top of their game in the 80s and are a truly underrated band, at least in North America. 8/10
4. Speaking in Tongues: Talking Heads are revered among both other artists and music enthusiasts, and for good reason. The melodies are solid and all have their own unique grooves to them. I also think that David Byrne's voice complements the instrumentation, too, which sounds like differing types of squiggly lines. I don't really know what else that I could say about this other than it is just bop after bop and a fun album to put on every once in a while. 8/10
5. Come Around and Love Me: I had never heard of Jalen Ngonda before until he was recommended to me on Spotify and I've got to say... this album is really good. Its sound kind of reminds me of Marvin Gaye or something that Motown would put out, which makes the fact that this came out just last year a little shocking. The only real critiques that I have are that it gets a little redundant having nearly every track begin with a drum fill, and I thought that the track "Lost" was kind of half-baked. Overall, listening to this album was a pleasant experience and I hope that Jalen's work gets more exposure. 7/10
6. Trail of Flowers: Sierra Ferrell appears to be a fairly new artist who is combining folk with country music and honestly, I'm here for it. She brings a lot of energy to this album, and I appreciate her ability to paint pictures with her lyrics with the backdrop of some truly beautiful strings-based baroque instrumentation. Even tracks that I felt like needed more work like "American Dream" and "Chittlin' Cookin' Time in Cheatham County" still have a lot of potential. I think that Sierra has the prospectives to become a wildly successful artist, and I am eager to see what she puts out in the future. 7/10
7. Pamyu Pamyu Revolution: For the longest time, I only really knew Kyary Pamyu Pamyu for her song and music video for "PONPONPON" that went viral online in the early to mid 2010s (And also for somehow knowing Charli XCX), but I had never really sought out the full album "PONPONPON" is on until this month. I wouldn't necessarily call it groundbreaking, but each track is loaded with infectiously catchy hooks. This album is really just bop after bop. If you're looking for something in the same vein as Carly Rae Jepsen with a touch of eccentricity, this is definitely a project worth checking out. 8/10
8. Oracular Spectacular: MGMT seems to be a popular band with people around my age (Gen Z-ers), so it only made sense to explore their work more; especially since I listened to their sophomore album Congratulations back in December. I had already heard the three singles from this era before and they're all as phenomenal as always, and the deep cut "Of Moons, Birds, and Monsters" is a lovely acoustic guitar-centered track. I really didn't care for "The Youth" and "4th Dimensional Transition," though. All in all, this is a pretty decent indie album that has held up pretty well. 8/10
9. Fabiana Palladino: Apparently Lorde was recommending this album to people, and it appears to be getting positive reviews, so I thought that I would check it out. There are some great tracks on here, but there are also some that are pretty boring and were kind of a chore to get through. Overall, this album is pretty hit or miss, I would only suggest checking it out if you're curious to know what producer Jai Paul has been up to lately. 7/10
10. Crashlanded: I've been meaning to get around to listening to this one for a couple of months now, and I'm glad I finally did. The production on this album is exquisite and in all honesty, is probably a large part of the reason why I enjoyed listening to it. Madeline's voice is also great and overall, this is a strong country album from one of the genre's newest artists. The only track I didn't care much for is the title track, mainly because it's one of those songs that wants to have a message, but doesn't necessarily have one, and it consequently comes off as a little cringey. Otherwise, a lot of these tracks clicked with me immediately upon listen. "Forehead Kisses" is a particular favorite of mine. 7/10
11. Cheese: Stromae is one of those artists that I keep hearing people praise a lot online, but I haven't heard much from him or heard very many people talk about him in person. This is his debut album, and it sounds so different from the couple of his songs that I have heard. I was kind of expecting a more experimental pop sound, but this is more of an electronic/dance record. It's not bad at all, but I do think this is a situation like Waxahatchee's Cerulean Salt that I listened to earlier in this challenge, where it's clear that this only sounds rougher compared to what I imagine their future albums to sound like solely because it's their debut. Overall, though, it's a decent listen. 7/10
12. Love in Constant Spectacle: I had never heard of Jane Weaver prior to listening to this, I just stumbled upon it while looking for something to listen to on Album of the Year and decided upon cursory glance, that it's something worth checking out. I was kind of under the impression that this was going to be an art pop album, but it's more like an alternative/indie rock album in the same vein as some of Feist's work. Sometimes it can get a little boring while I'm listening to it, and I feel like Jane is trying to have a Julia Holter moment with this album at points. While the aforementioned Julia Holter/Feist-esque aesthetic doesn't really land at all here, I will say that there are still a few good tracks on this album. 7/10
I already have a few albums lined up for next month, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out. I think I will be skewering more towards indie and older artists, which should be an interesting listening experience for me.

I’m on a journey for to better my spirit and stay away from darker content like music and movies and pictures even. And I noticed a difference just from that. Like just simple pure pictures of baby ducks or animals makes me happy and music that’s gentler makes me feel better. When before with heavy metal and rap, I’d always feel weird after listening to it - like it would be a high then a crash after
God bless you anon🤍
Purging this content out of my life was one of the hardest decision....but I regret nothing. With time, you'll notice you don't even miss it like that.
Rap and metal have extremely dark, lowbrow energy. And you don't even need to be Christian to acknowledge that. It's no coincidence many killer listened to this type of music before (or during) committing their crime.
I recommend you to cancel any subscription you have to streaming service and throw away dvd, games, etc. you have, so you don't be tempted to go back to it. Ngl, I sometimes get very nostalgic from some of these songs that paved the way of my teenagehood to adulthood (Kana Nishino...lol) but I quickly snap out of it. I've watched way too testimony of professional of music saying that music gets 'laced' with (demonic) energy on to get people addicted. Even the cute/seemingly harmless music. God showed me Kyary Pamyu Pamyu music would send me to hell. I also think Taylor Swift music is 100% demonic and that she's some sort of a high witch to get people hooked on it and worship her like a goddess. I have secondhand embarrassment at Christian women listening to her music thinking it's safe... The spirit of discernment.....is non-existent to those people.
And you're absolutely right about being more sensitive to dark/evil content once you live a pure life. I sometimes get horrified by the type of content that's trending or is popular. Look at Hazbin Hotel, those hyper sexual TEEN shows, hyper sexual music with artists literally being half naked/pulling out pornographic shows on stage, pedophile propaganda/mentally regressive anime, etc. I'm like "HOW DO YOU GUYS CAN WATCH THIS TRASH??" Jesus was so real when he said we shouldn't let our heart be "hardened" by this stuff : it will NEVER ok and we should never be used to it.
One of my favorite media content is video of humans saving/protecting animals because it reminds me that that's the purpose of humanity when God created us. We had to take care of the garden, nature & the animals. Despite the fall, humans and animals still have that 'link' of love and dependency. I really hope there are animals in heaven🤍
I remember the testimony of someone who experienced the presence of God while outside, and he said that at that time, even the animals went quiet - because they acknowledged the presence of their creator. And this was one of most beautiful thing I ever heard : realizing that even animals know and more importantly recognize God 🤍🤍
