DOUBLE-BARRELED SOUL

A program first developed in 2022 at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa's college radio, KTUH FM Honolulu. The same show was later continued on KKCR-Kaua'i Community Radio-before returning back to KTUH.

Under the deejay moniker "Aunteh K"-a partial anagram of the college station's call sign- they became a popular radio host on Honolulu's airwaves curating sets with a focus on vintage funk, funk-jazz, Latin soul, and reggae music while incorporating the sounds and history of underrepresented Hawaiʻi artists that fall into these genres with a special emphasis on using vinyl LPs for their sets.

The curations of Double-Barreled Soul have permeated from the airwaves to the events of Honolulu with DJ Aunteh K making guest appearances to spin vinyl at venues including EP Bar and the Aloha Got Soul record shop.

Off the Air 9/14/21 LAST SHOW!!!

After eight years at KTUH, it’s finally time to sign off. Thank you to everyone who has tuned in over the years and supported Off the Air. I started at this station as a college student excited to share unique music with a community of like-minded DJ’s.
