Jewelry of Consort of Imperial Prince Yeong, Crown Princess Uimin (1901-1989).
Tumblr media
One of a pair of white jade ornamental hairpins with phoenix head-shaped design. Used in upright position on a braided wig, it is decorated with gold thread, pearl, red and blue crystal beads, and kingfisher feather on top of the white jade phoenix. This hairpin is part of a daesu 대수 ensemble. A Joseon wig worn by Queens for ceremonial occasions resembling a helmet [image source].
Tumblr media
This women’s ornamental pendant, Norigae was made by vertically connecting two pieces of white jade plates. Each jade plate is decorated with a pierced open work of a butterfly. Norigaeis an ornamental pendant for women, which is worn by being hung from the top garment or skirt with a string. It is one of the pendants which Lady Hyoyeong, the consort of Imperial Prince Regent of Gang, presented to the consort of Imperial Prince Yeong in 1941 [image source].
Tumblr media
Jade hairpin in the shape of a flower worn with daesu. Kingfisher feathers are inlaid between delicate gilt gold framework in the shape of various flowers and phoenixes. Blue and red glass stones adorn the pin along with pearls [image source]
Tumblr media
This is a silk-lantern-shaped hairpin made of jade. The head of the harpin is sculpted after intertwined tree branches in openwork, with plum blossoms, bamboo leaves, and birds represented in between [image source].
Tumblr media
Bongjam is a phoenix-shaped hairpin. It has 6 pearls decorating the tail, wings, and eyes of the phoenix, three red glass stones at the end of the tail, top of the head, and front of the bottom support, and two blue glass stones on the sides. The red glass stone at the front is framed by an 8-petal flower decorated with kingfisher feathers [image source].
Tumblr media
One of a pair of hairpins used by the Consort of Imperial Prince Yeong for her daesu, worn together with a ceremonial pheasant robe. The head of the hairpin is carved in the shape of a dragon holding the pearl of wisdom in its mouth. The mouth, filled with red beeswax, has a red glass bead inside, but only small portion of the bead is visible. The whole piece is gold-plated, but two small pearls which had been studded in the eyes are missing [image source].
Tumblr media
A plum blossom is embossed at the center of a milky-white jade in the shape of a chrysanthemum. An eight-lobed metal support is placed on top of it. Golden stamens were added and shaped with a technique called eojamun 어자문 to flatten the top. Kingfisher feathers are used to decorate the support at the center. Finally, a red glass stone was added on top [image source].
Tumblr media
Hairpin in the shape of a butterfly worn along with the daesu. Four large pearls flank the corners of the wings to create flowers. Golden stamens surround them. At the center is a lotus flower with a red glass stone. Eojamun technique was employed to decorate the frame with small rounded indentations where kingfisher feathers were inlaid on top [image source].
Tumblr media
A one of a pair of phoenix hairpins used with the daesu. This type is worn horizontally [image search].
Tumblr media
This hair ornament is to be vertically placed in the front of the queen’s wig. It is made of carved white jade connected with a gold-plated skewer. It was usually worn with a pheasant robe. Both sides of the white jade plate, where circular longevity symbols, a phoenix, and arabesque patterns are carved in relief, are decorated with pearls and blue and red crystal beads [image source].

it goes without explanation with zhou's new helmet is dope as hell. i will provide explanation anyways.
Tumblr media
(above, zhou's helmet design as posted to the KV design twitter)
the central design on zhou's helmet is almost certainly inspired by the traditional craft of mother-of-pearl inlay in lacquerware, a practice which originated in China over 6 thousand years ago, and which has been developed and practiced in discrete forms historically in Korea and Japan alike. (continued under the cut!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(on the left, a korean (goryeo dynasty) lacquerware stationery box; on the right, a chinese (song dynasty) lacquerware lidded bowl for cosmetics or incense. both photos via the met museum website)
traditionally, lacquerware is created through the refinement of a toxic plant sap into a naturally deep and glossy adhesive coat that is built up and polished often on top of wooden furniture and decorative items, such as chests and jewelry boxes. in the above examples, you can see two types of lacquerware practice.
on the left is mother-of-pearl inlay, which is created through the careful grinding down of tortoise or abalone shell into thin iridescent sheets which are then carefully cut into shape and imbedded into the coats of dark lacquer, being repeatedly covered and then polished down in the lacquer until the shiny shell surface is level with its surroundings. it's both visually stunning and incredibly labor-intensive: for a case like this, there would have been separate artisans making the wooden base box, making the metalware (hinges and clasps) for the box, applying the base layers of lacquer, and then completing the inlay itself.
on the right is (what i understand to be) a predominantly chinese lacquer practice, which is carving into the layers of lacquer to form images in relief. while this practice is not replicated on zhou's helmet, the image selected does display the pattern of the peony flower, which i believe to be the flower depicted in the inlay! the striations of the central petals seem to match zhou's. of course, this is speculative and only based off an amateur's eye, especially considering the motif of scrolling foliage is fairly ubiquitous and somewhat generic in east asian decorative art.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(on the left, zhou's 2024 helmet (detail). on the right, a detail image of a korean chest decorated with mother-of-pearl. zhou's helmet via twitter, right image via the met museum website)
the 'metallic' or 'holographic' effect a lot of people have recognized is a natural property of polished mother-of-pearl: look at the iridescence of the design! while it has been exaggerated to some extent on zhou's helmet (for good effect, i must say), you can clearly see the inspiration when compared side-by-side with a more predominantly mother-of-pearl composition: the variegation between blues, greens, and warmer peachy-reds is mesmerizing.
i really want to drive home how brilliant of a design this is and give the due appreciation to KV Design, who made this helmet for zhou. clearly a lot of thought and creativity went into it, and I can't wait to see it in action. >:D

hohoho. so. my parents and my inlaws asked me whether the other pair expected gifts. after talking to both of them I said no. I forget if I specifically made my mom promise not to bring gifts, but it's the kind of thing I might have done in this conversation, because she's so bad at coordinating with herself across time. and then she got a gift anyway. a traditional Korean jewelry box thing. she got a thing that my inlaws can't possibly fit into their living space. it's both something I told her not to get and is useless to them because she didn't take any of their known preferences or constraints into account. hightly typical
anyway I got very angry at her (some of this was real but some of it was to drum it into my mom that she messed up The Contract, to head off future bitterness on her part that they didn't give anything back)
so today. she presents the gifts at dessert time
and to preface the gift giving, as she pulls the bag out from under the table,
she says, "so, I made a problem"
which was so cute that I admit I melted immediately

What I have not finished yet are the "service" signs -- police, hospitals, banks, etc -- because I have some different meshes in mind for those (I love this mesh but it's definitely got a strip mall/shopping plaza kind of feel, and that seems a little sketchy for a hospital lol). They will be coming in part two!
These are on MogHughson's Illuminated Shop Sign mesh, which is BG compatible and is not included. You will need to pick up the mesh from the above link (I'll also link it near the download below). It is six tiles wide, but in case you want something smaller, I'm also working on a hanging sign add-on. Here's a peek:
Tumblr media
Probably should have zoomed in, but I wanted to show how it looks with the big sign, and then I got distracted by my little courtyard. XD
Icons are by Freepik, piksart, Luvdat, NT Sookruay, Vitaly Gorbachev, JunGSa, Smashicons, surang, justicon, ultimatearm, paulalee, iconriver, YI-PIN, smalllikeart, smashingstocks, Agung Rama, Futeur and monkik. Huge thanks for all their fabulous resources!
Numbered versions of the swatches are included so you can keep just what you like.
Whew! Okay! I'm going to work on the last set of hobby posters tonight, although I'm not sure if I'll have them done in time for tomorrow. D;
DOWNLOAD (SFS) | Recolors are ~1 MB! 🚨 Mesh is not included! Get it -> here. 🚨
Lots of love, Spacey

big hit was on the brink of bankruptcy while debuting bts so my group and bts suffered on our early days. in 2016 bts gained interest in korea which follows cosmic’s slow popularity growth. however, cosmic focused more in the western market and finally hit the charts after our comeback in December of 2016 (after zero wins since debut) while bts won the first daesang in 2016 and got tremendous hate, cosmic won their song of the year & hit the billboard chart and stayed first for a few weeks. also getting tremendous hate from k netz, not believing a rookie girl group managed to secure billboard for their first win.
the next year my group decided on each solo comebacks, where other member success domestically my solo album went back to the billboards charts for weeks gaining cosmic its international popularity along with bts. in the end of the year bts won best group in pop while my album won best solo after that bts and cosmic soars in popularity both domestically and internationally.

LoZ - Hyrulean Cultural Aesthetics
Important to note, Hylians, Sheikah, Gerudo, & Lupáns are all considered human.
Those with pointed ears are referred to as Cuspan & those without are called Ovelian.
Overall Cultural Influences:
Central Hyrule & Hylians specifically = Medieval Germanic & Arthurian English with some variation depending on location. All Hylian towns will likely have a little bit of this in them.
Ovelians = Rural, small town, down home, farmer, tough as nails, survivor, rough around the edges, traditional, conservative, but still rebellious, & generally very good-hearted. That means they are the rednecks, the cowboys, the military men, the American Southerners, the Vikings, & the Celts kind of characters. You're salt of the earth types. At least in feel, though not necessarily in culture. It's because of this that humans generally get along well with Gorons. Either way, humans stick mostly to the agricultural & ranching settlements for the most part.
Zora = Hard to tell as they generally don't wear clothing, but they do wear a lot of jewelry. If I had to give them clothes, I'd definitely say they'd be something flowy. Possibly Roman or Greek in fashion to go with the water theme? As for sensibilities, maybe a bit of French Rococo. I also get the impression that the Zora's Domain is actually divided into 2 levels: the Upper Domain & the Lower Domain. The Upper Domain is what we see in the games & consists of the commercial district & palace. The Lower Domain is entirely underwater & is where the Zora actually live. The reason we don't see it is because Link can't dive.
Rito = Northern Native American. Aldean specifically. Maybe a bit of Latin American.
Goron = A mix of Maori (Polynesian), African, Dwarven, & maybe a bit of Old West mining town, though it's hard to tell for certain as they generally don't wear clothing. Definitely something with a decent blend of caballerismo & machismo. Something masculine & tribal, but also community oriented & friendly.
Gerudo = Egyptian/Middle Eastern Amazons with some Orc influence. Possibly with some hints of Hindu too. At least as far as fashion goes.
Korok/Kokiri = If Peter Pan & the Lost Boys were Hobbits.
Twili = Possibly Scandanavian? Also Chinese with some Japanese influences.
Mogma = They seem to be Brooklyn-ish. Maybe even a bit of an Italian-American Mob feel, but more so in the "friendly gangster" way. So, I'm seeing some Bensonhurst influences, which is a specifically Italian-American borough within Brooklyn, I believe. Maybe even a bit of New York Jewish? Like, they come across as being Italian mafia adjacent, but only in so much as the accent, the attitude, & family-oriented organization. Sort of an "it takes a village" & "we take care of our own" type of mentality. Not in any way actually mafia though & certainly not in the romanticized view of gangsters as I don't actually see the Mogmas being the types to actually commit crimes on the reg. And despite being avid treasure-hunters, they seem to have a general culture of altruistic generosity. By that, I mean that their love language is gift-giving.
Yeti = Norse Viking.
Minish = Borrowers.
Anouki = Inuit.
Lokomo = Possibly Greek?
Zonai = Mesoamerican.
*Búralupán = Gaelic, Celtic, & Nordic. (This is a race I made up, if you wanna know more, go to Wolf Link & the Lupán Race.)
Smaller Settlements:
Hateno = I'm getting Gaelic Scottish farming town. Also maybe a bit of Spain, Italy, & Greece. Mostly inhabited by humans, both Cuspan & Ovelian.
Kakariko = Japanese with maybe a touch of American Old West. While primarily Japanese, there's also some definite South Korean influences. Especially in their cooking.
Mabe = Rustic dairy ranching town vibes because I'm putting Lon Lon Ranch there. Based on how AoC & LA's Mabe was designed, their roofing is colorful terracotta tile & generally has ivy & such growing on their homes, so maybe Colonial Spanish. Mostly inhabited by humans.
Goponga = I'm getting rural Luisiana Bayou vibes, most likely due to it being located in a swamp. So, primarily Cajun, French, & Colonial Spanish with some Zora inspiration maybe. Mostly inhabited by humans & Zora.
Deya = Not sure yet, but I'm giving them a vineyard, peach orchard, & making them use them to make moscato, so maybe an old Tuscany winery & fishing village? Mostly inhabited by humans. From what we see in the games, it was actually the biggest settlement in Hyrule besides Castle Town, so it could've been a full-on town or city.
Ordon = Has a rural ranching feel & might be inspired by a southern agricultural town in Italy called Ordona. So, maybe rural Italy with American South mannerisms & sensibilities. Culturally, though, I get Gaelic Irish vibes. It might be the smials… Also, maybe a little bit of Welsh too. Either way, it's mostly inhabited by Ovelians & Lupáns (more human than Lupáns) with the occasional Hylian, Sheikah, & 1 or 2 Gerudo. (For more of their overall culture, go to Ordonian Culture & Ordon Cooking Culture.)
Lurelin = Rural Hawaiian fishing village. Maybe a little bit of Caribbean & Okinawan? With a little bit of Mesoamerican mixed in due to Zonai influence from the nearby ruins.
Ealiyah = Tibetan-flavored Gerudo farming & brewing town. Maybe a little bit of Russian too? Also, interior decoration is eclectic & cluttered but cozy & colorful in a vibrant, rustic Bohemian sort of way. There are also some influences from humans, including Ovelians, Hylians, Lupàns, & even Sheikah to a degree as several of each race lives there too (all men), but overall, the culture remains mostly that Tibetan-Gerudo sort of style. They do a lot of weaving & sewing as well as dying. (This is a town I made up, for more on its culture & history, go to Ealiyah Town & the Highlands Gerudo.)
Tabantha Village = Norse with Rito, Yeti, & Lupos inspiration. So, old Norse Viking, Aldean, Celtic, & Gaelic with a Russian & Welsh accent. They use a lot of furs in their clothing. Mostly inhabited by Ovelians, Hylians, Rito, Yeti, & Lupos.
Shadow Hamlet = Dwarven possibly, with Goron inspiration. So, very masculine. Maybe a bit of Old Western Mining Town. A mix of Gorons, Hylians, & Ovelians tend to live here.
Koholint Domain = This is on the Koholina Archipelago, which Eventide Island is the smallest island of & will eventually become a fishing & port town. In-world, it has influence from Zora, Rito, & Lurelin. But, from a real world perspective, it's mostly Polynesian, coastal Native American, & coastal Hindu with some ancient coastal Greco-Roman (even Atlantis-like) influence for the underwater sections of the settlement. As well as in their formal fashion. There would likely be a tiny bit of Carribean & Okinawan influence in there too. The population is made up of Euryhaline Zora (able to survive in both salt & fresh water), Coastal Rito, & Lurelin humans. And, much like with how I think the Zora's Domain is built, the settlement's commercial district is on land, while the Zora residential area is underwater. The Rito & human residences, as well as the Cheiftain's home, are also on land. (For more on the specifics of this, go to Euryhaline Zora & Coastal Rito Port Town.)
Gatepost, Outpost, & East Post = These are all a package deal. These are mostly military towns, so that'll definitely factor in. They are positioned in such a way as to protect Oldcastle. Mostly inhabited by Hyrulean Humans, but with smatterings of the other races too.
Oldcastle = The site of OoT's Castle Town, a.k.a. the Great Plateau, so there'll be some DEEP historical significance going on. As such, it's mostly Medieval Germanic & Arthurian English. Mostly inhabited by Hyrulean Humans.

PLEASE share your thoughts on Gamorran/Parousian gender roles!!!
THIS IS GONNA BE A LONG ONE CAUSE IM GONNA REALLY GO FOR IT, OKAY OKAY
So first I want to establish some things about Gamorra/Parousia and its history for those who haven't read the absurd amount I have: Why do I call it both?
Simply put, its because Gamorra is actually the colonized name of the country. Though its origin varies from text to text and iteration to iteration, generally, the history of Jay's home country goes like this:
It was Parousia for a long time, with native Parousians occupying the land and particularly claiming home within the mountainous terrain of the island(s? its unclear what Gamorra's land mass is like)
During the early twentieth century, the Japanese clan of Gamorra, usually helmed by Kaizen Gamorra, takes over the island, renames it Gamorra after himself, and founds a dictatorship over the island. This involves the usual colonialism hallmarks of restricting Parousian land territory and a resistance movement (parousian liberation front) and eventually the island moves into becoming a democracy. President Yumiko Gamorra takes over after her father and welcomes American banks and financial influence.
Once the clan Gamorra serves their purpose, american-sponsored dictator Henry Bendix takes over and the island essentially becomes a colony for the west.
Tumblr media
(Waller vs. Wildstorm, issue 1)
Obviously, their history very closely resembles the history of other groups that suffered under colonialism, namely people of the Korean peninsula and the Ainu people of japan. So, within this context- Parousia, and its people (The parousians or parou depending on how you'd want to singularize it), are likely considered and recognized as an indigenous group within universe.
I obviously headcanon Jay as being part of this group on his other parent's side, but that's another post! Right now we're talking about fictional cultures, baby.
So, what do we know? We know two things:
One, like I said in my previous post, women and men of the island tend to sort of uno-reverse the usual western gender roles around hair. Women keep their hair short, VERY short, and men are shown to be depicted with long hair: Its actually pretty apparent in the screenshot above that this at least generally true. Two: Birds. There's a thing about birds that Nicole Maines actively took the time to draw attention to.
Tumblr media
So obviously this got me thinking: Okay, what if the hair thing is because they've based their cultural norms at least in part around birds?
It makes sense: Parousia is a warm climate, we're told it actively has jungles and what not, and in places like that there tend to be LOTS of birds. A lot of the colorful birds that have drastic sexual dimorphism tend to come from climates like that for a reason.
More than that, a lot of cultures tend to base their cultural and spiritual practices around whatever animal impacts their local ecosystems the most- not only do people everywhere be like staple crop and dumplings and what not, people also be like "hmm. Animal."
If birds are the most populous animal on the island, and they keep pests down, and they're both an available food source and an indicator of how well the environment is doing- it totally makes sense that Bird would be the Animal Of Choice.
Birds can have some really wacky sex dimorphism- Famously, their gender roles are pretty much entirely swapped from the "human norm" pushed by the west. Female birds tend to be dull in coloration. Male birds, famously, are extremely colorful and are the ones who are expected to pursue courtship. Notably, also, female birds will have shorter flight feathers in species (such as the quetzal) where they have long, flowy flight feathers.
So I'm thinking, generally, gender roles and tradition in Parousia reflect this. Men are expected to keep their hair long, women short. Clothing patterns and colors are brighter for men, while women wear largely browns, greys, and black. Jewelry and makeup is largely a male tradition, while any tattooing traditions are done for women before marriage. Men are the ones who are responsible for courtship, and perhaps even some aspect of homemaking/providing.
I have more specific ideas, but I'd have to draw it first!

OMG REI!! CAN YOU DO A SIMILAR PIECE OF YORU LAST POST AND EXPLAIN HOW YOU THINK THE ENHA MEMBERS IDEAL TYPES ARE??? PLLLLLLEEEEEEEAAAASE! I AM DYING TO ASK YOU!
Sure.
Again, i don't know any of the members and this is not by any means factual as I am merely expressing my own thoughts and gut instinct on what my opinion is in regards to the member's personal/ideal type.
Jay:
As I stated in the last post, I think he would be into a very well mannered woman who carries alot of self respect. I don't get the vibe that he would be into looks too much, maybe like 40% appearance and 60% personality. I can see him being into types that are simple, and elegant types that wear little makeup, maybe has some or very little surgical alterations (i dont think he really cares too much about that, but i dont think he'd be into the ones that over do it and do alot to completely change their whole entire look). The people that come close to mind would be like Jisoo, IU, Rose (with natural colored hair) etc. Now, this is my own opinion, but i do see him being the type to more than likely go with a Korean woman, which is why i listed those three above as examples. If he does go with a foreigner, I feel like it would be an American woman but someone he already knew from his childhood or like an Asian American. Idk why, i just get that vibe.
Sunghoon:
Again, as I stated in the last post, Sunghoon would (like Jay) want a very well mannered, proper type of gal. I think he would be 50/50 on looks/personality. I heard he listed Irene as his ideal type, which tells me he likes the type that fits majority, if not all, of the korean beauty standards. IMO, i feel like he'd would only go with a korean woman, and wouldn't be open to date foreigners, merely out of comfort and preference. he comes off as the type that would be very traditional and i just get this feeling he'd be into a an Irene look alike (not to be confused with an ulzzang or 얼짱) like a nice girl that is simplistic and doesn't wear too much makeup, wears nice clothes, and is very easy going. I feel like he cares alot about what his parents think, and that may influence his preference and standards. Considering how immensely supportive they were in his figure skating days, I feel like he has a strong bond with them and like most Asian men, they love their mothers very much and sometimes will tend to go with a woman if she has gained their mother's approval (not saying it's right but it is a thing people...) I can see Sunghoon (not necessarily being the type to rely solely on his parents approval) but i can see him being the type to really be attracted or want someone who is presentable and he feels comfortable to bring to his family. I feel like he comes from a very traditional upbringing and family background.
Heeseung:
So with Heeseung, i can see him being the type to date foreigners, but if it came to settling down in a very serious relationship (like marriage) i get this vibe that he'd most likely marry a korean woman. there is a sliver string of my gut instinct that thinks he'd consider or would marry a foreigner, but he'd be selective on the type of foreigner mainly because of the language barrier. basically, if she speaks english with some korean or is fluent, i think he'd be willing to make that work. Idk why, but again, most asian men love their mothers so much, and i feel like if there was a girl that had some minor attribute that reminded him of his mother (one that makes him nostalgic) like the sound of her voice when she says certain words, or the color of her hair, or the way she smiles, i feel like he really would cherish that since we know how much he loves his mother.
i feel like that heeseung wouldn't really care about looks so much. idk why, i just get this vibe that he might have preferences and some standards but it's pretty flexible. in fact, i actually see him as the type that eludes the 'less is good' aspect. so less makeup, less flashy clothes and jewelry, and i dont think he'd really care about plastic surgery but to be honest, i feel like he'd be the type to really appreciate a woman who is comfortable in her own skin and maybe only had some minor surgeries (like the common ones that they do with their eyes and nose, considering he himself has had some work done. lets be honest now) for some reason, i get this vibe that he'd be into an older girl, likes someone who is mature and carries a sense of classiness and sophistication that only comes with age (IU comes to mind alot whenever i think about this, like her personality).
I also think he'd like pale skin, but also would like a nice olive, tan complexion, and likes a girl with natural hair colors that compliments said complexion. i really do. and if they have a good personality, that pretty much seals the deal for him. someone who maybe looks like IU, Jisoo, Yuna, or even Danielle from new jeans (i know she's a minor, i'm not implicating anything, i'm just using her features as an example) fresh faced, and elegant type of beauty. as for foreigners, I could see him finding someone like Barbara Palvin, Kendall Jenner, Catriona Gray or Kaia Gerber (idk why but i get this vibe that he likes the mature and almost sexy type looks when it comes to foreigners) I feel like (again...imo) i feel like he has a soft spot for Filipina women because...well...Philippines is one of the top three countries that heavily supports kpop, has one of the largest fanbases for kpop, and he has alot of fans from there so i just think..yeah...he has a soft spot for them. if you're Filipina and carry some traits of Catriona Gray (whether its the hair, skin complexion, style, or the bold lips).....yeah...that's a done deal.
Jake:
I feel like Jake and HS are similar in their taste in women. And i also see him preferring korean women out of comfort, but if he met an english speaking woman that carried some or all of the attributes he likes, then he would be down (just like HS). I feel like he and HS are very very similar when it comes to their preferences and ideal types, so it's almost the same, and i also think he might be more attracted to an older girl, but if he met a young girl that carries the personality traits he likes (like that sophisticated and classy attitude) then he would eat that up. Idk why but when it comes to the legal line in enhypen, i see them liking the very mature types. I feel like Rose (looks wise) and Danielle (again, looks wise) are the types he is fond of, but i also think he has a wide variety when it comes to his preferences with foreign women. because so many foreign women are drop dead gorgeous (and i mean like...all over, every country has the most beautiful women i swear) i think the aspect of seeing a woman who is, again, comfortable in her own skin and hasn't had alot of surgiers (no slander against koreans but south korea is the plastic surgery capital of the world and it is very common over there) i feel like the members really find it refreshing when they see a woman who only enhances her looks with some simple makeup (and from what i've seen in all of the fans during these fansigns and fancalls....there are alot of beautiful girls out there, i dont know how these guys keep their cool...no wonder they get so flirtatious).
Like HS, he likes the simplistic types (no heavy makeup, no flashy or costumey looks, etc) as much as people love the ulzzang look, like karina, i really dont think the guys would be into that bc lets face it, those ulzzangs (while beautiful) have lots of makeup, filtering, and surgeries to achieve that look. again, less/simple = good. for the members, i feel like they prefer a simplistic and simple, elegant type of beauty and if you do wear makeup, wear flashy clothes, or get surgery, less is good. (in my opinion that's the vibe i get).
Jungwon:
I feel like Danielle (i know i used her for the third time now) but i feel like her image and features fits JW's type, also IU's visuals. I get this vibe he is more into Korean women, so that's why I feel like he'd be either into a full korean or maybe a half korean like Danielle or Somi before she dyed her hair and adapted the very bold makeup look. I personally think of him being very into the type that are (again) less is good, so simple makeup looks, loose jeans or sweat pants with hoodies and butterfly hair clips that pins your long hair on the back. I kind of get this vibe he's similar to Sunghoon in regards to splitting the personality and visual appearance down the middle, holding them both equal in value.
Sunoo:
So Sunoo is the only one where i don't get any vibes that he really cares too much about looks. If you look presentable, have some sense in fashion and have wide eyes, and an awesome personality, i feel like he'd be into you. if you're smart, know how to take care of yourself and can take care of him, if you're both a giver and taker, and know how to give back and remind him to take, i feel like he'd be really into that. Sunoo gives me humble vibes, i feel like he is a very humble person and would really like someone who is just the same, very humble and kind....super kind.
Niki:
Since this is SFW content, i'm going to include Niki. I get this vibe that Niki can find two appeals attractive. one being the cute appeal, if you have the very youthful and cute, soft look and appeal, he'll like that. but if you also have the very mature, sexy and fierce look, i think he'd like that too. the thing that will seal the deal is the personality, if you're personality is not to his liking, he wouldn't even entertain the idea of bonding. I personally get this feeling he's a little bit (just a tad bit) more into the cutesy appeal. I dont have any examples of real people to use for Niki since i dont really put too much thought into him (for obvious reasons) but i will say that I can see him being heavily reliant on looks because he is at the age where young men are starstruck by visuals, and i do think since he has fame (and ever since i've known about enhypen, he seems to be the most popular of the group...there's something about the youngest in each group that gets people fanatic about them) i think he is cocky (not in a bad way) and is obviously not at all serious about anything other than his career (which is understandable since he is still so young.)

I find it really hard to word this properly but does anyone else feel some kind of sense of dread or loss over the parts of our tradition and culture that we lost to westernisation?
Where are the καράβια for christmas? Why are traditional clothes so incredibly hard to find? Why do we barely get taught the easier dances at school (πχ συρτό στα τρία) and that's it (unless of course you decide to pay to take lessons or your family teaches you)? Why has our cuisine changed so much? There are so many more examples, I've lost track at this point
I absolutely understand why many people, especially younger people, don't care since anyone that feels rejected by the culture will reject the culture back (especially if you grew up feeling abandoned by the state and ESPECIALLY if you are gay or any other type of minority in greece). I still hate it though
I know what you mean. We are basically a second little US compared to how our country would be if it were free of that heavy outside influence.
Modernization is good, buuut it's not without cons. I've heard a young Greek call the color combinations of traditional clothing "tacky" and I sense that's how many Greeks think given how our nationality aesthetic has been reshaped. The fact that we have to get used to the aesthetic our ancestors appreciated for generations....
That's just one example of how we have embraced modernity on the condition we completely reject everything traditional. Even when we "modernize the traditional" is 99% (mostly) USian standards and environment and 1% of Greek culture just to add enough palatable uniqueness. I wish we could have both.
On top of that, religion doesn't appeal to a growing number of Greeks for various reasons (which I don't condemn). Unfortunately, religion used to be the glue between any Greek community and now we can't bond over that. We have nothing to replace it with so far, leading us to further isolation.
(That's partly why I occasionally reblog things such normally more religious people would be interested in. The history of the Greek Orthodox church is also Greek history. It concerned the people of this land for thousands of years, and we cannot separate our past from the church completely.)
And, on another note, why the fuck do we have to get to specific events and lessons to dance our traditional dances? Why don't we wear traditional jewelry, for example? Why most of us don't know how our traditional clothing looks like? Many Greeks admire traditional dances and clothing from other cultures (Indian, Korean, Native American tribes, and more) but when you ask their opinion about traditional Greek clothing and dances they are suddenly disgusted. Their appreciation for culture stops in their own culture 🤦

accept?!! another way?!!
TPOL!JK
you pout when you look at what he did to the bedroom. there’s flower petals trailing all around the bed, there’s even petals on the bed forming a heart. “jungkooook~ this is-“ you’re speechless. the room is dark yet there are lit candles places all over the bedroom to light the room up.
when jungkook comes to give you a kiss, you kiss him back with just as much fervor. “am i proud of you? of course i am but you don’t have to do all of this for me. this is too much” you say in a shocked manner. it was so unexpected and you can’t believe he did all of this for you. YOU.
the regular girl from college that works at a coffee shop to buy his lunch, yeah you. here’s this rich guy that could have any girl in the world and he chose you.
sure, he’s got daddy issues. SEVERE daddy issues and has patience as thin as paper but he’s all yours.
jungkook then brings you a tray of food he made with all of your favorites. from cut up fruit, to pasta, salmon, sushi, and much more. even traditional korean dishes your mother made for the two of you.
“wait, wait, i want to get undressed! give me a sec” you say and you run to the closet to get yourself undressed and into something more comfortable while jungkook puts on your favorite movie: tangled.
when you finish, you’re wearing an oversized shirt of his and your hair is down, which gives a more comfortable look, and jungkook plays the movie while the two of you dig in. “this. is. so. goooood. i never knew you could cook” you say while chowing down on the yummy food he made for you.
he peeks at you every now and then and you can tell there’s something on his mind, something he may want to ask you.
“what’s on your mind?” you ask before taking the remote and turning the tv volume down. “what is it? you want a blowjob because you’re asking for me to suck the life out of you after this”
the WHIPLASH you give him is enough to break his neck. it’s too funny how you’re able to be this sweet, pure school girl with such a foul mouth and maybe he’s to blame for that…
He almost spits water out at your comment, “oh yn you and your explicit tongue will kill me somedsy.” He chuckles. It’s so crazy how you know every bit of what he likes or dislikes.
“Hmm I do have something on my mind.” He confirms as he cleans his mouth with a napkin. “I’ve got something for you.” He’s nervous.
How is he going to- he just inhales and exhales and decides to directly ask you,
What if she says no?
but then his anxiety gets the best of him. No, what if you reject him, or what if you say that it’s too early?
Is he really letting his fear get the best of him? Should he just lie and just drop the idea right now? “I-I got you a present that’s the surprise.” He smiles. And then he takes out something from his pocket
“Oh- well I thought I should’ve gotten you a present since you’ve been keeping up with my family drama and you’ve been handling my daddy issues right now.. and you haven’t left me at all. You’ve been by my side…” he smiles looking at you.
He knows that he wants to marry you, but maybe right now it’s just not the right time.
“so I got you a little ring” he takes it out from the box. And he hopes that he will love the ring. he knows that you don’t really like luxurious jewelry, but he just wants to give you the best of the best.
“ give me your hand.” He takes your hand in his and slides the ring on your ring finger. “Oh wow.. now you are really mine forever. You’ve promised to be mine yn.” He smiles.
He really wanted to propose tonight, but then.. he’s not sure if it’s the right thing to do right now. He is Scared of being rejected and he doesn’t want to scare you away from hurrying you to marry.
“wear this on your ring finger, always.” He then kisses your hand. “I love you so much.”

retournement de veste !
All the kpop idols being invited to fashion events and becoming houses ambassadors made me think about how fashion luxury houses are so fast to turn around and try to seduce a public they used to turn their backs to. In fact, these companies have always wanted to dissociate themselves with certain groups and figures. The Kardashians are a great example of this phenomenon, luxury houses didn’t really want anything to do with them until Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing took an interest in the family.
In France, owning luxury items is popular in urban areas leading to a love and hate relationship between fashion houses and these populations that don’t fit the image of said houses. The derogatory, racist and classist term “Lacoste TN” designate young black and north African men living in urban areas dressing in Lacoste tracksuits with AirMax TN sneakers. The term is widely known and shows the popularity of this style mixing streetwear and luxury. Unfortunately for these houses, this is not the lifestyle and outdoor activities they are trying to promote :(  The luxury tennis outfit oriented brand Lacoste especially, whose popularity in the suburbs is incredible, has been vocal about not wanting to associate with this group. Eventually, with them playing quite a large part in Lacoste’s sales in France, the house ended collaborating with french rapper Moha La Squale.
France is not the first country encountering this behavior. Actually, the popularization of streetwear, monogram, sneakers and chunky jewelry in luxury is due to the African American community in neighborhoods of New York and Hip Hop music. Dapper Dan was an amazing designer from Harlem, is influence on black music and the style associated with it is huge. His work at first consisted of creating knock-offs of luxury items and playing around with logos. That is how the monogram print was popularized. Luxury houses which excluded black people, did not want to be associated with them or their music, called their style tacky, ghetto or ratchet started reappropriating these creations and selling them to white rich people in the suburbs.
When European luxury houses first made their first steps into Asia, whiteness and the Parisian style was the goal. Boarding school uniform inspired preppy was in vogue in Japan starting from the 1960′s. I have always found it odd how 30 years later, with the rise of Harajuku fashion and the popularity of streetstyle photography magazine FRUiTS, these brands never tried to collaborate or work with young Japanese artists. It was maybe too tacky for them, too out of pocket or too “street” since it seems like it is a global problem. So it is funny now to see how Heavn by Marc Jacobs collaborated with FRUiTS Magazine’s photographer Shoichi Aoki and tried to mimic an aesthetic by watering down alternative asian fashion culture and manufacturing it to sell it to the mass while the whole purpose of the movement was to protest against social norms by being unique and creating unique in the world pieces mixing traditional and modern clothing. I am not trying to say i hate the brand, I actually liked it at first, I am juste a girl in my twenties who likes asian fashion so of course I liked it. But when thinking about it, nothing new has been created, everything they sell is already available on the market. It just caters down to mass consumerism and the “weird girl aesthetic” that for some reason makes me think of the manic pixie dream girl except it is fashion.
Now with the influence of Korean culture you know they had to ! Houses will go out of their way to have at least one Korean celebrity sit at their show, idols being the golden ticket. Even if this is not new and even if I am glad artists get this opportunity, I find it sad and sometimes reducing to invite pretty faces instead of actually working with them on interesting projects, especially since South Korea is a buzzing spot for emerging designers and small artists. It is like non white people have two options: be excluded or be a totem.
(if you want to know more about Heavn i suggest you watch this video ! it is really interesting and i agree with everything being said)

I love Beau and relate to her as a non-white queer girl, but I have something to say when it comes to her design.
Beau’s character art shows her as ambiguously brown. The actor who plays Beau is white. Her character class is a Monk which in dnd terms is a spiritual fighter that utilizes ki and kung fu bullshit to fight. While all the dnd classes are stereotypes, this one is specifically made with an oriental~ aesthetic. Occasionally she is referenced as a “tan human” otherwise it doesn’t get much deeper canonically. Beau’s story however has connections with jade jewelry, a familiarly Chinese tradition (I am Korean American with ties in China through my grandpa. He gifted me jade bracelets growing up). All of this is to say, I always feel weird whenever I think about it because I can’t understand any reason to do these things besides wanting an “Asian aesthetic”. It doesn’t feel like someone simply playing a non-white character for the normalization especially when, in Beau’s design, she has light blue eyes despite clearly being brown (a common practice to make non-white people look more “pretty”or “unique” by giving them conventionally white characteristics).
Asian culture is commonly used as a tool to make characters feel cool and exotic as well as superficially cultured (I believe the term for this is Orientalism). I don’t want to single just this character out when this a larger pattern, and probably none of these things were intentional. I wish people recognized the implications behind these types of characters. As an Asian girl to see this constantly happen but never be addressed, especially in content I hold dear to my heart, it doesn’t feel good. There is a lot more to being Asian, an already broad fucking term, than exotic looks and foxy eyes.
I am curious what other poc who watched campaign two thinks about this.

muse questionnaire thingy idk this dash game has no title yeet
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What does your muse smell like?
they normally smell like a type of perfume tbh. but in terms of being more specific about it they smell somewhat 'spicy woodsy' (funny if you think about the genetic part of a past ancestors quirk having them look kind of elfy) like patchouli, sandalwood, pink pepper(spicy floral smell), and a touch of cedar. some of their scent may also be their detergent and shampoo, maybe even body wash adding into that because that's usually something to account for.
What do your muse’s hands feel like?
so, corvus' hands are actually fairly middle in terms of this. they've obviously been through quite a bit. they are somewhat scarred, a few having not healed correctly and the raised skin can still be felt a little when running a finger along them. it is definitely noticeable considering their hands aren't large and are rather small and dainty looking(don't let it fool you though those hands are rated e for everyone). other than that they tend to be on the softer end.
What does your muse usually eat in a day?
depends on that day's workload. if they're at their set up most of the day depending on how important things are they'll actually cook for themself. usually traditional korean meals their grandmother taught them to cook. if they are out and about it's likely take out. but if they are too heavily focused on finishing important jobs on their set up they will often just scoop up bandit and get pork buns at the convenience store like they do every night, but basically doing it more than once. bandit tends to like those days more. extra free pork buns.
Does your muse have a good singing voice?
surprisingly, yes. corvus tends to sing to themself A LOT and it's actually something they start doing comfortably in front of someone when they become close to them. that or if you sneak up on them/listen through their door you might be able to catch them. i don't have a voice claim for them for singing or just in general as of right now, but they do have a softer tone to them and when they speak normally (other than the edge to their tone/voice when vigilante mode) they do have a softer voice most of the time.
Does your muse have any bad habits or nervous ticks?
hooooooo okay this uh. LOL. yes. they have quite a few actually which can be super subtle, but if you pay attention to them in the moments they are nervous it'll be harder to miss than you'd think. they do the ADHD leg vibrating when they're getting nervous or impatient, their hands tend to fidget with their jewelry more, and they'll on and off put their hair up as if they can't decide or in general just mess with their hair.
in terms of bad habits they do mess with their sharp canines with their tongue a lot when staring off and have hurt their tongue that way. they also have a bad habit of not checking the time and often times would miss things because of this so they have to set a ton of alarms to remind them to eat and exist when working.
What does your muse usually look like/wear?
corvus actually tends to dress in a specific style most of the time especially when working as a vigilante which is tech wear. i do have the pinterest showing that here. they also have a bit of dark academia look outside of wearing that or their old hero costume which is something similar to this or this (which both are in those pins but I wanted to point them out specifically).
they tend to mix those two styles. and fun fact with this they also tend to bind their chest less when dressing casually.

White Day
In those countries where Valentine’s Day is observed by women giving gifts of chocolate to those they love, White Day is the day they get the return on that investment.
Throughout the world, Valentine’s Day is practiced in largely similar ways, with the giving of gifts of chocolate to those whose respect, admiration, or love we desire. In some countries, it is tradition that only women give gifts on this day, in part due to the existence of White Day. White Day is when women are the recipients, with the expectation being that the gift bestowed upon the woman is thrice the value of that she gave to the man.
Learn about White Day
White Day is celebrated a month after Valentine’s Day. The date is for people to reciprocate the gifts that they received on Valentine’s Day. Traditionally, White Day is for women to receive gifts. However, you don’t have to be female to reciprocate the love that someone showed you on the 14th of February. It is also a perfect back-up for anyone who received a gift on Valentine’s Day that they weren’t expecting and so did not purchase anything for the other person. You can simply claim that you were saving it for White Day – problem solved!
As we will reveal in further detail, we have Japan to thank for this day. However, it is a day that is celebrated in a number of other countries as well. For example, in Korea, this day is honored, with boyfriends giving their partner a White Day gift. Traditionally, this gift was marshmallows. Random, but who doesn’t love some marshmallows? Today, though, Korean boyfriends have gotten more adventurous with their gifts, with everything from beautiful bouquets of flowers to delicious fragrances being gifted to the women in their lives.
History of White Day
In 1978 the Japanese National Confection Industry Association helped to promote the idea of an “answer day” for Valentine’s Day. In Japan, it was tradition that only women would give gifts of chocolate on Valentine’s Day, and so they decided that there needed to be a day where men showed their appreciation by returning it. This appreciation is shown by the gifting of flowers, white chocolate, lingerie, jewelry, and other gifts to those women who they received gifts from a month earlier.
Unlike the American manifestation of Valentine’s Day, gifts of chocolate are often given as ‘giri chocho’, or a gift that is a social obligation rather than an expression of romantic love. While this still leaves the man obligated to give a gift in return, the nature of the gift is clearly determined by this nicety. If you’ve ever wondered how Valentine’s Day and the related holidays are celebrated in other countries, White Day is your opportunity to find out!
How to celebrate White Day
Well, the foundation of celebrating White Day may not be present in your country, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t celebrate it regardless. If you’ve received a gift from someone on Valentine’s Day then you can return that favor on White Day by presenting them with a gift of your affection or respect. You can also research the details of this tradition to help familiarize yourself with it and raise awareness of it in your own community. It’s important to realize that this isn’t just a Japanese tradition, but is also a thing practiced in South Korea, Vietnam, and China. Take White Day to study the nuances of this holiday and tell people all about it so that everyone can learn more about other cultures.
White Day can also be used as an opportunity to confess your love to someone. If you have had a crush on someone for quite some time now and you have not been able to build up the nerve to tell them, you can use White Day to do exactly that. Purchase that special someone a small gift and confess your feelings. What have you got to lose? It’s always better to take the risk, even if it does not work out how you want it to! After all, if you don’t take the risk, how will you ever know?
You can also spend this date learning a bit more about Japanese culture and tradition. Why not learn some romantic phrases in Japanese so that you can impress your partner on this day? The only place to start is by learning how to say I love you. This is Aishiteru or 愛してる。, and it is only suitable when saying you love someone in a romantic way. It is not a phrase that people use when saying they love a friend or a family member, and that is why it is the perfect phrase to learn for White Day. There are some other great phrases that you can say as well. This includes:
I want to kiss you./Let’s kiss.
Kiss Shitai/Kiss Shiyou. キスしたい/キスしよう
I feel safe when I’m with you.
Issho ni Iru to Hotto suru/Anshin Suru. 一緒にいるとほっとする/安心する
Let’s go on a date!/Let’s hang out!
De-to ni Ikou!/Asobi ni Ikou! デートに行こう!/遊びに行こう!
No matter how you decide to spend White Day, make sure that it is a day that is filled with love! If you don’t have that special someone in your life right now, curl up on the sofa, treat yourself to a good meal, and watch a rom-com! Or, why not buy a gift for yourself? We all deserve a treat from time-to-time!

So, Needle fashion anon again now to talk on the actual event and stuff. It's hard to keep up with it all and I would like to take on board some of the points brought up by you, and I guess who is now Fashion anon 1 xD
Firstly, because i just remembered off the top of my head, Eddie Redmaynes suit really does not look as though it fit him very well even at first glance. All the points Thread anon made were accurate. The fit is a disaster. It is of course possible that there was initially a different outfit planned for which he got fitted but it became unavailable, or got damaged or something and they had to put him into something else last minute and didn't have time to readjust it. Those arms don't look like they could be raised higher than his chest….
With Jimin, it took me a minute to to take in his look because something felt off and I think it had everything to do with the complete omission of accessories. and clearly lots of people felt like this. At first I thought it was to align with the styling from the Dior collection that was on the runway but even they have been styled with some jewelry, or at the very least earrings here and there. His look was extremely neutral. But at least it fit him really well and the little texture that came from his pullover underneath was nice. I do not like Dior boots, never have never will, so there goes my take on that. I generally dislike the opics of having bricks strapped to your feet. I though Hoseok was trying to have his shoes serve as a gateway to swallow him into the ground. Luckily everyone can have their own opinion and nothing has to be universally liked.
But considering, as I had expected going jsut from the already seen SS collection, that the entire Dior show was neural af I am not surprised by what Jimin ended up wearing.
Overall, mens fashion for a lot of these is just not very exciting. Especially in the current zeitgeist. A lot of fashion has been skewing quite conservative recently. Even a bunch of the other shows I've had time to watch felt very held back. Both in in terms of silhouette and colour even for Fall/Winter colelctions which tend to be more muted anyway. Though all quite distinctly retro influenced.
Now to the Dior show. Am i the only one that kind of got the vibe that the whole styling of the Dior show was very 70's ish but felt like the 1940's 50's? With a really weird contrasting depiction of a wealthy silhouette opposite a working class one??? It's in the, what other Fashion Anon observed in the Scottish sort of styling with the draped jumpers and the lose schoolboy trousers but then those sleeves. Those damn sleeves which have this drawstring just under or over the elbow, which look like sleeve protectors which you would use when you're working and the way the raincoats are styled. I guess they are going out to sea to gut some fish.
The show was flip-flopping between a look so impractical that it could only be suited not to work in, and followed by another look which held all the visual trappings of a workday outside from 5am-5pm. Maybe I'm interpreting too much but I felt so weird watching the whole show. It felt like it was trying to make class commentary in a bizarre way. It has the feeling between a work uniform for different classes of citizens. I found the music reinforced that a bit as well. Very strange.
Also have a bit of a hot take on the whole, styling Korean men in Western history inspired fashion, and will say: Isn't this what has already happened everywhere? In a vast majority of what I will, now very broadly and insensitively, call the colonialised parts of the world, they wore, as their day-to-day, their traditional clothes. Colonialist ideas of what is considered "normal clothing" has already erased vast amounts of the unique styles worn by different cultures. At this point the global fashion market has already been westernised quite agressively.
Nuance is presently only observed on the small scales. Just hints of what was once a gloriously diverse set of clothing styles based on what was locally available and slowly but effectively erased over the past century.
Perhaps this is why dressing up in historical fashion has been such a trend recently. It reestablishes individual culturally centered agency which a globalised world is increasingly eroding.
The founders of western fashion brands started their labels because they were sure they could bring interesting, new styles to the table. The House of Worth and the later following subsequent rise of off the peg clothing put an eventual end to a global tradition of made to measure. Somewhere in there, expression, may it be cultural or individual, was lost for the sake of ease.
Fashion is so commercialised nowadays that I sometimes look at the runways and wonder if I'm just looking at the same thing over and over again if I don't pay attention.
Anyway I think I got a bit off track, this happens to me sometimes. Hopefully there's something valuable in here. I'll be glad to hear if either you or the other anon have any takes.
As I did in my previous response to your intake, I'll personally focus on some of the aspects that haven't been previously touched upon in order to address some of the questions that I have because the rest is just a really good addition on your part on the Dior show and the Western takeover and influence.
You mentioned that fashion lately has been going into a more conservative direction. If I understand correctly, that's also reflected in the Dior collection and others as well. I wonder why? Is it cyclical and bound to change as some point? (Though it would make sense, as with a lot of other aspects of our lives).
To me, art is a reflection of society. It's a mirror and on the fringes, it may try and fight back. I see that quite clearly with cinema and other forms of media and the changes that have happened in the last decades. Maybe it's of a different nature, but conservatism is on the rise there as well because it reflects the rise of puritanism, which is a reaction to a different type of freedom of expression that is slowly disappearing now. I know it would be easier for me to find an answer if I knew some more fashion history. Conservatism in fashion could be related to commercialism, if I were to just throw some stuff here (I could be completely wrong, so sorry in advance if I'm just writing nonsense). Commercialization and big masses are directly linked. One cannot exist without the other and it's a process that started with the Industrial Revolution. Pop/mass culture is tied to that. Some lamented the rise of it, crying about the dismissal of High Culture for quite a few decades, while others in the second half of the 20th century, through the works in the field of cultural studies, tried to bring legitimacy to it, leaving behind conservative views of culture. We saw it in the rise of cinema, decorative objects, use of plastic in everything and Warhol added a big layer of bricks to it. Clothing is in that category as well, but then, I believe that luxury fashion houses throughout the 20th century have been an alternative, to create some sort of balance, but from an top to bottom position. Even the pret-a-porter was still high fashion compared to what the masses were wearing. That position perhaps created the creative ground for everything that we saw during that century and how it trickled down to the masses several seasons later. I guess it's still the case today, but the highly creative ground is not as fertile given the world we're living in? It's democratic, homogenous, conservative, some idea of individualism, all at the same time. I've also noticed that experts have been talking about the same blandness in architecture and interior design with the rise of minimalism, all that grey and how it's further interpreted. There's so much to discuss here anyway.
I will add a link here about House of Worth for anyone interested in reading more about that too.
As a last note and a bit unrelated, these talks are really making me a lot more interested in clothes and their significance. It actually started when I was doing the research for the piece I wrote on Jimin's photofolio. So many times I found myself reading something that I wouldn't really need for my post, particularly this book on Body Dressing and how clothing is tied to corporeality and the creation of the social body. It was trully fascinating. But the one which proved "useless" was when I was researching metaphorical meanings of mannequins and I ended up reading an entire academic article on Elsa Schiaparelli and her 1930s creations 😅.
