"y-you...you killed him? for me?" you ask jungkook whose face is flushed red with tears and is holding your body tight for dear life. you don't hear everything else he says because you're disturbed by the information he shared with you. although his father was a huge pain in your ass, you would never wish death upon him, especially his son taking his life. you don't even know whether to believe jungkook or not because what yerin told you was that jeon jaekuk was assassinated not killed by the hands of your ex-boyfriend.
he then reveals that it was your mother that begged him to stay away from you and it hurts to hear your mother go behind your back but you understand why she did it. she's trying to protect you yet here she is with you wishing jungkook a happy birthday, even baking a cake for him. when jungkook doesn't hear your response, he pulls away to look you in your eyes, taking in your whole face. he can tell that you're shocked by the sudden information that he revealed to you and you're trying not to get upset with jungkook because it's a special day for him. his mother reached out to get you to make him happy but you know the only way he'll be happy is if you stay.
stay with the murderer and something tells you that he used that gun you remember he had that one night to kill him.
"jungkook i...i don't know what to say" and truly, you don't. what CAN you say?
"let's just celebrate your birthday, okay? we can talk about this later" and before jungkook can respond, you let his and your mother back inside the penthouse to spend time with him for his birthday. the night is somewhat fun because jungkook can tell a lot is going through your mind and you can tell a lot is running through his.
you all sing happy birthday to jungkook one last time before he begins to cut the cake and share pieces of your mother's sweet dessert with everyone but unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. neither you nor your mother planned to stay long, so by tomorrow morning the two of you would board the earliest flight back to switzerland, and when your mother reveals that to ji-ae, jungkook isn't too happy with the news.
he wants, no, NEEDS you to stay with him. he can't go on living without you, and with his father gone, maybe you'll stay.
so, he offers to walk both you and your mother downstairs but ji-ae insists the two of you take a walk to "catch up" with each other while they stay back. good, because jungkook has some things to say and so do you.
once the two of you are outside after getting off the elevator and leaving the lobby, you don't hold back with jungkook and he's bracing himself for whatever you have to say to him.
"listen, i...i leave tomorrow morning so i'm going to make this quick and maybe this will give you closure. you know i love you, i always have but i can't be with you anymore. i'm trying to move on with my life and i kind of have moved on. every time we get back together bad things just keep happening. if we're not at each other's throats then we're caught up in unnecessary drama with your lifestyle that hurts me. i'm not saying it's your fault, jungkook because i shouldn't have agreed to come knowing i was better off in switz but it's time for us to move on. it's time for me to move on, so if you have anything to say, say it now or forever hold your peace"
He scoffs as you say those things to him, he’s getting angry as you keep on talking, he clenches his fist but bites his tongue so he doesn’t say anything that’ll hurt your feelings.
But what about his feelings that you’re hurting?
If you didn’t love him and you had moved on why did you come here? You could’ve just rejected his mother’s request and Maybe he would’ve moved on.

“you make everything difficult. I don’t even know why I love you so much. I wish you hadn’t come here. Go back. I have managed to go on six years without you I can live without you yn.” He is seething. How can you even advise him to move on? And now you’re lying about the fact that you love him.
“Yknow what? You never loved me the way I loved you. You’re right whenever we’re together or something really bad happens. and I’m glad that your life is going well.. see mine is going well too. I’ll move on.” He says, he doesn’t even want to look at you anymore.
You are so selfish.
you have hurt him.
Jungkook is so disappointed and frustrated.
“thank you for doing this for my mother.. it was actually nice to see you now I will be able to move on…. Because now I know that you don’t love me so now I can allow myself to fall in love with someone else and forget about you like you never existed. Go yn.”
And with that he turns his back on you, because he cannot let you see the tears that start to fall from his eyes as soon as he turns away.

you rub your temples to calm yourself down before you say something to him that you’ll regret before speaking up. you take a deep breath, exhale, and say “nothing is wrong with me, okay? but if you really want a fight, keep saying things like that and i’ll give you one. just. drop. it” and that’s the last thing you tell him before you’re heading inside the building to ji-ae’s room.
as much as jungkook wants to press it, he holds off on talking to you and instead tries to enjoy the bittersweet time spent with his mother. he gives her the snacks she likes and all of you are eating except for jungkook who is visibly bothered and you know why. “aw, kookie why aren’t you eating?” asks his cheerful mother who is happily chewing away but you know why he doesn’t have an appetite.
while his mother is distracted by what’s on the television, you walk over to jungkook with a piece of your chocolate chip cookie in hand to feed him. “open” you say and jungkook does open his mouth for you to feed him the yummy cookie.

“ms. ji-ae, it’s lunch time” says a nurse who walks in with a plate of warm food in separate portions. “have the two of you ate, kookie? surely you’re hungry?” asks his mother who selflessly offers the two of you what her lunch but you politely decline. “no, no, no. go ahead, jungkook and i will go get something. what kind of snacks do you like ms. ji-ae?” you ask with a smile on your face and helping her set up the table for her lunch.
“ooh, bungeo-ppang please??” she says with a smile and before you leave, you give his mother one last hug “i’ll be outside” you tell him before leaving him alone with his mother for a bit. a few minutes later, he joins you outside her room and walks you to the car to talk for a bit.
“don’t get mad but” you begin by squeezing his hand. “you kind of…are…like your father in someways”
it’s one thing for his mother to say it but YOU?! any comparison to his father will always be an insult to him because the both of you know that his father is no-good. he’s completely ruined his family and has threatened you, so how is he like his father? why wouldn’t he get upset at a comment like that because it’s far from a compliment.

Maybe he is like his father, but he doesn’t really like you to acknowledge that fact.. so you and his mother should really stop making him realize that.
“you’ll see how much a great man I will become when we have a family together I won’t be like my father at all yn.” He says, “ should we go and buy mom’s favorite snack from somewhere else or just the hospital canteen?”
He is still bothered by your comment, but he really doesn’t want that to become an issue between you two because right now you guys have a lot to deal with. He just wants this day to go by calmly.
That is until his phone rings. He takes it out of his pocket to see that it’s… Tina.

"t-tonight?" you say and from the defeated look on your face it's safe to that you and jungkook are history in jaekuk's eyes. he lives you with a final goodbye with "i'm glad you got the hint" and leaves both you and yerin to enjoy the now watered down coffee thanks to his presence. once he's gone, yerin lets out a loud factual statement that not even you could disagree with.
jungkook does look just like his father. from his nose to his cupid bow lips, and even his intimidating demeanor is all jungkook yet his doe eyes must come from his mother because he doesn't appear to be a gene his father possesses but the fact still remains that jungkook just might propose to tina, which thank God you left your engagement ring back at the hotel. you weren't expecting jungkook's dad to make a surprise pop up and even though it's your first time meeting and seeing him, you want it to be the LAST time you ever come face to face with him again. he's a man with a lot of power and there's no way you stand a chance against him.
you and yerin talk a little bit more before you're off to work then back home late that night. you freshen yourself up and throw on a t-shirt and shorts before hopping in bed and putting on a movie to help you sleep to but before you clock out for the night, you converse with your mother for a bit. once you finish talking to her your mind travels back to jaekuk telling you about jungkook proposing to tina, possibly tonight. you don't believe him, of course, since you and jungkook are engaged but how far does jungkook want to go with this plan? will he really propose?
on cue, jungkook calls you and when you pick up, you hear his happy tone and giggles. "hey, jungkook" you say after he speaks first. you don't know what he's happy about but you're about to ruin his mood when you tell him about jaekuk paying you a visit and the news he informed you about.
"yeah, i did miss you but no. i think i'll sleep alone tonight"
and now jungkook's happy tone is laced with concern because why would you want to sleep alone?
"your father came to see me today. told me you and tina might get married, that you probably proposed to her tonight. i'm not saying i believe him but jungkook, i want to go back home. i appeared pitiful enough when he came to visit me, so can i go back to switz now? please?"
Jungkook screams into the phone. “WHAT??? WHAT DID HE MEAN BY PROPOSING TO TINA?!?” He’s so clueless about this- he’s sure your ears must’ve hurt from his loud voice but he’s genuinely shocked.
Oh his father is the actual devil in disguise.

You must be feeling sick to your stomach. “B-But I was hoping that I could take you to meet my mother…” he pouts. “She should get to meet her daughter in law- we’ll soon be married.” He emphasizes on that.
He’d rather eat poison than to propose to Tina.
“Don’t go back to Switzerland of course- not yet. You can’t yn.”
Jungkook sighs. He knows that this is too much to handle but you love him don’t you? He loves you so much. You’ll have to hold on a little longer.
“So what do you say? I’m saying this because my father is going on a business trip to Türkiye tomorrow, So you should meet my mother!!”

when you finish doing the standard procedure for the test, you wait to see what the test reads and as your friend predicted.
“no…nonononononoooo” you cry to yourself all five tests showing two lines that indicate that you are indeed pregnant. “how?! i took the fucking” you gasp because you remember forgetting to buy morning after pills and now..
“oh my God” you say. you quickly grab your phone and call yerin to tell her the news and she tells you to calm down but how can you be calm when the person you’re with doesn’t want any kids?
“do you want to…abort it?” asks yerin and you’re quiet on the other line. if you do abort the baby, you’ll still be with jungkook and he won’t have to be a dad but if you don’t, he’ll probably break up with you and never talk to you again because how could you forget about buying the damned morning after pills?
“we can do it tomorrow but i can’t use his card for it. he-he’ll know” you tell yerin and she say okay before setting the appointment up.
jungkook calls out for you to check on you while you’re scrambling to clean up all of the evidence that shows what you’ve really been doing.
“sorry, sorry. my period just came on” you lie again and though jungkook is confused, he believes you and you both carry on the rest of the day.
the next day, you’re at a clinic with yerin who sticks by your side the whole time. when it’s over, you’re a crying fit in the car and yerin cries with you. she doesn’t agree with your decision but she’s your friend no matter what and loves you so of course she was right there to support you. even if it wasn’t for you benefit but rather your partner who knew nothing about what was happening.
he carried on like everything was okay and so did you for awhile. three weeks later, you’re sort of happy and you don’t say a word to jungkook about what happened until you conveniently asked jungkook to fetch something out of your bag to which he discovers a receipt with five paid for pregnancy tests. you aren’t pregnant are you? i mean…this receipt is clearly months old but why the hell would you buy five of them if you weren’t pregnant?

You bought pregnancy tests. And so much time ago. He’s just getting know about it now. And suddenly everything makes sense.
He tilts his head to look at you and the fear in your eyes confirms his suspicions, but what shocks him the most most is when you blurt out that you’ve fixed it.
He stalks towards you, his heartbeat dropping, “what do you mean?” He asks you calmly. The receipt clenched tightly in his hands. “Y-You were pregnant?” He chokes out.
This has to be a misunderstanding, he hopes that whatever he’s thinking is not true, how could you not tell him directly? And what do you mean by you fixed it?
“W-What did you fix yn??? Tell me.” He is standing right infront of you, eyes scared and he’s so close to crying. You didn’t even tell him anything.
