A whumpy little scene I drew for a thought project that @percy-frayer inspired me to start. This thought project is called 'Warlocks.' Otherwise known as the endless IKEA. Elio is in some serious danger, but Leo is on the way for the rescue. I love them. The only issue with this project is I'm bad at drawing man made objects and places.... and this is an endless IKEA. Sigh.

A Remembrance

Years ago I received a call from a friend, who at this time was a Firefighter that had completed what Boxing Knowledge/Schooling I knew. This friend claimed from the beginning of the call that I had SAVED HIS LIFE! I asked him to explain.

He received a call from a lady, wherein her drunken boyfriend had assaulted her and she needed his help to move out. The FF arrived at her place, where outside was the intoxicated boyfriend and his thugs.

The intoxicated dude bowed up to the FF, blocking his path to going into the house. The FF said he didn’t want to fight, but he did know how to Box! This statement brought lots of laughter and catcalls of derision!

The FF remembered at this point my schooling of the “cool blue flame” as the thug launched his overhand Right. The FF, who was the size of a Lumberjack, easily blocked the Right with his left and FLATTENED the Thug with his POWER STRONG RIGHT! The FF asked the fellow Cronies if anyone else wanted to Fight and they all signaled they had no interest. The FF then went about helping the Lady move out.

The FF, in telling me of this incident, indicated that everything I had taught him about Boxing, came into play with this encounter, plus the “Cool Blue Flame” mentality that helped STEADY him before the fight started. I thanked him for calling, but didn’t believe that I had anything substantial to do with saving his life. Yes I had given him the tools of “how to BOX”, shared with him the background to the “Cool Blue Flame” mentality - but HE had followed through with the education of what I had taught him and it was HE that had won the Fight!

I do remember a quote which says: “Any fool can Fight, but RARE are the MEN that know how to BOX!” A lesson that the Thug should have learned and a Lesson that the FF had most definitely learned. Still it was a moment of Inner Pleasure that I was instrumental in teaching a Friend “how to BOX” and Use that Knowledge to “Save his Life”!
