Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell met at a friend’s birthday party in 2007 and immediately hit it off. The funny duo dated for a couple years and became engaged in 2009. After a little soul searching and lots of conversations, they made a mutual decision to not get married until all of their friends could, choosing not to marry until same sex marriage in California was legal. Because of this, Shepard and Bell had a long engagement, at least in celebrity terms, but the ruling they had been waiting for came during the summer 2013. Kristen then proposed to Dax! They chose to get married soon after in October, and had one of the most low-key weddings we had ever heard of: They wed on a whim at the county clerk’s office while applying for their marriage license. All in all, their wedding cost $142 (including the gas to get there 😂). But something that was a little bit more of an investment was the engagement ring Dax had popped the question with back in 2009. He chose a very unique Neil Lane @neillanejewelry design for Kristen. The center stone is a champagne emerald cut diamond, bezel-set in platinum with milgrain details. A vertical border of white diamonds are on either side of the milk chocolate colored stone, as well as a few diamonds set into the platinum band. We like how different this style is but still easily fits into Hollywood, don't you? .
