and it seems the kids are used to it, like its a regular event
and tyhe entity being frinedly...why does he do it?
and also sems to have a connection to those small spirites

Jingle Belle: A Very Special Jingle Belle Special or A goofy holiday comic and a long tired rant about the animation industry
Tumblr media
Ho ho ho and merry Christmas as we reach the final stretch of Christmas reviews and it’s all Christmas all the time for the rest of the week for obvious reasons. So we’re starting off by wrapping up Jingle Belle for the season with one more comission. While it’s from my usual client, It’s via patreon as for 5 bucks a month you can get a review a month of your choice. But since that hasn’t taken hold just yet, and won’t till next month, he asked to swap it for this month and here we are.  Not much to cover though this is the very comic where Jing hopped publishers from Oni Press to Dark Horse. The whys I genuinely do not know and at the time, I just know it’s weird to talk about Dark Horse these days. Their not dead nor entirely irrelvant, Resident Alien, which I really want to check out as it has a really engaging premise, is getting a tv show that I also want to check out as while i’m not sure if it’ll be good, it’s still Alan Tudyk playing an alien who can barely pass for human and it hilariously shows. Whenever that streams i’m not missing a second of that and we all know it. And Umbrella Academy, started during bigger days for the company, is one of netflix’s hottest shows and one of many shows on my to do list I haven’t gotten to because I procastinate like no one else and as taking an entire month to get to the newest loud house shows to the point another one popped up, it bites me in the ass a lot. Point is their not GONE in relevance.. but at the same time they’ve lost the huge tide of liscences they road in on. Except for the Joss Whedon stuff, Marvel’s pretty much taken EVERYTHING from them via various deals: Star Wars, Conan and now Alien. Their still standing and makes good art books and clearly given Resident Alien good content, they’ve lasted this long their not going anywhere, it’s just really weird to think about. I will however give them huge credit for giving out tons of comics in early quarantine, and being easily the most generous company next to marvel. I.e. one of the few that actually gave out full collections.
But yeah at the time this was probably a safe move as Dark Horse had a love of one shots and likely a larger budget. Hence why from here on out the stories are in living color, and have a slightly diffrent art style to boot. Granted the character would shift artists but now it’s got a clear more cartoony art style I like a lot better courtsey of Jose Garabaldi. So yeah with christmas on our heels, let’s ring a ding jing, it’s A Very Special Jingle Belle Special.
We won’t be covering the backup for this one though it is quite good, it’s just not what kev asked or paid for.
We open on a parade!
Tumblr media
While batman foils the joker’s poisioning scheme, Santa rides on a float proudly and   Jing is hanging out on the back grumpy. It’s a great introduction for new readers showing Santa being big and jolly and what you expect while Jing grumps in the back with a “Sheesh, Daddy”. That’s how you establish a character well in only a few panels. IT’s really great is what i’m saying. Some teens pop up but don’t belivie her about being Santa’s daughter and when going to a christmas shop to try and find figures of her, the owner claims he dosen’t.. and well violence insues. You’ve met jing right?  Anyways Jing is understandably a wee bit absolutely livid the world dosen’t know about her. Her parents sure but her? Nope. And it’s easy to see why: She’s the daughter of the world’s most famous man.. but despite all the holiday lore and junk she’s just the part he likes to hide from people.. or that’s how it feels. While he ducks it, she even gives him a nice save fatty it’s clear that even if she brought it up to rile him a bit.. she does feel on some level like he likes to tuck her away and hide her because he’s ashamed and because she’s not perfect. Granted she does act out and stuff, but she’s still his kid and i’ts still gotta sting. Though she has the perfect idea to fix this: A christmas special. Santa suggests just doing good deeds but Jing is right: her idea is better. Mostly because, as cyncial as this is.. more people are going to pay attention to a good holiday special than a celebrity’s kid doing charity and for far longer. A good christmas special just sticks in the brain and sticks with you forever. It’s why Santa Claus is Coming to Town and A Charlie Brown Christmas have lasted decades or why my list of best chirstmas specials is pretty weighty. They just stick with you so while this can’t possibly end well.. her plan is actually a really good one this time.
So Jing takes her friends off the line to help her animate it, stop motion styles and they remind her of her LAST christmas special.
Tumblr media
I mean I’m a sucker for any refrence to Star Wars Holiday Special. You’d think after several decades of jokes at it’s expense, with tons of youtubers, many of whom are dead to me but that’s besides the point, tackling the thing without it getting stale, that we’d eventually grow tired of mocking it but .. no. It’s a bottomless well of what they were thinking. The only question left is why isn’t it on Disney Plus.. I mean.. you made a second one as an affectionate parody and in lego. Kids are going to know about this now. Just put the thing up. Even edited down or just some clips. You put Rise of Skywalker up there, you’ve proven your threshold for shame when it comes to this franchise is vast. Just person up and do it.  But Jing’s learned her lesson.. stop motion only and to follow the bouncing formula to sucess. So in the special which sadly isn’t all stop motion and is just drawn to resemble the specials, probably for the best but still, Jing and her animal pals are sneaking into a town where christmas was banned! Meeting the chirstmas legion of doom.. well okay that’s what i’m calling them. Burgermeister Budweiser! Bungle the Abominable Snow Monster! Frost Master and Heat BLister! The Frost Fakir.. wait the what?
Tumblr media
........
Tumblr media
I mean where do I even begin? I know this was during the war on terror, I know that.. but still I expect better from Paul Dini for a crosses the line twice joke than “hey let’s just make bin laden into an ice wizard!”. I mean South Park made fun of him too, but they went all out with a looney tunes homage. Put effort in. And even years after he died the lonely island did this beautiful thing in the film pop star: never stop stoppin, which you should watch seriously watch it it’s underated.
youtube
Point is you can do better and if you don’t have room to do better then just.. don’t. You could’ve put in a t-rex in a top hat and monocle.  That would’ve genuinely been better... because it’s better than everything ever btu that’s besides the point. There’s also one last addition to the rogue’s gallery thank god.
Tumblr media
He hates her too. Now that gag is actually reallyf ucking funny. What’s also funny is how she solves things. By singing a nice and frinedly song about friendship to reform the villians.. or rather lure them over a bridge to get eaten by her orca friend.
Tumblr media
So Jing after showing it to her dad heads to market it with him trying to warn her netoworks haven’t aired this kind of thing in years. But she faces the greatest threat to all of television: network executives, who keep offering advices and basically change the thing all together for stupid reasons and think cartoons should only be for kids despite it wokring in the past. Aka the hells animators STILL go through. I think Paul was projecting just a wee bit with this one. Given again IT HASN’T CHANGED since then, I can’t blame him. Seriously Harvey Beaks was canceled, among MANY ohter nick shows including rise of the tmnt just because it wasn’t an instant hit, Cartoon Network and warner keep trying to make dumbed down remakes of great shows, and Disney, among other networks, is fairly homophobic and while finally allowing some gay on the network this year had to be fought and outright refused it on ducktales for no adquate reason, caring more about monney and the bible belt than doing the right thing. So yeah as you can tell this bit got to me a bit and was hard to read because it. hasn’t. changed. 16 years and not a lot has changed other than more women are getting a chance. And granted the “kids are our only audiencce argument” isn’t as strong and several shows are powered by other demographics it’s still an issue and still the reason several good shows have gotten the boot and why the jeph loeb era of marvel animation was terrible. Because guys like him thought it should JUST be for kids and the lowest common demoninator of htem. You can be clever and be for kids dammit.
Tumblr media
I apologize slightly for that it’s just something that’s been on my mind as shows dwindle and with ducktales gone the standard forbearaers for children’s animation are all pretty fresh faced. It’s just a lot to take in and i’ts been on my mind a lot.
Back to the actual story the result is a pretty purtrid cutesy special.. Jing reacts how you’d expect, destroying the tapes covertly with a herd of musk ox and destroying the tape. But they find the 70′s special and we end on that which is pretty funny. The only thing I really don’t like here is the ending. The rest of this special is really good: it’s clever , has some good satire and some really funny jokes especially that hook one. The ending just feels a bit weak.. like yes Jing wanted to be noticed but it’s not really an unsympathetic motive and while she does some shady stuff the villians still basically win by airing her terrible holiday special all over again. It’s just not satisfying.  But yeah overall another pretty decent holiday comic with some good jokes. I”ll probably see Jing again next year, and it was fun getting to dip into these comics. THeir not my faviorites, but their still pretty decent and if the complete collection ends up on sale on comixology or you see it in a bookstore and you think it’d be up your ally i’d buy it. Again not my faviorite thing ever, but still enjoyable enough. Coming up this week of holiday cheer: ducks, more ducks, superheroes, and a best of list.

Until next time: Courage.

Boris and Vincent, the Skelton in their closet.
Tumblr media
I was fortunate to be growing up when these two horror masters were still releasing films to the theatre. Boris Karloff was even venturing into kid frinedly media, and in two theatrically released Rancon Bass films; ”The Daydreamer”, and “Mad Monster Party”, so in 1968, when I was  11, my family had the opportunity to enjoy seeing  these two horror veterens on a show we always watched, which was “The Red Skelton Show” on CBS.
I had not seen this program since it was originally aired, and when looking over collections of the show of VHS, this show was never listed as being in the collection, or I would have bought it. As far as I knew, like Boris Karloff singing “Monster Mash” on Shindig, it could have been lost media. I had also heard that some of the old Red Skelton shows had been lost, like the early Johnny Carson “Tonight shows”. If I had thought it was lost, I was very grateful not only did it exist, but it had been uploaded to Youtube, and the parts with Boris Karloff and Vincent Price, are in three parts.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuiIGEZk354
The first part is half of the skit “He who steals my robot steals Trash. The short person dressed up as a Mini -Monster, served a purpose, other than Karloff cracking jokes about being careful when you wash your monster. Boris Karloff at this stage in his life, was crippled, but he was a real trooper. The short Frankenstein Monster was actually there to assist Karloff to get to his place.  Karloff, who performed his final roles in a wheelchair, because Karloff loved performing.  Vincent price is quite funny here, as he effects a somewhat childish manner, as Karloff’s son. It’s about at the 9:12 point, that it looks like Price and Skelton are about ready to kiss. “Why not?” “I’ll tell you why not!”.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtwR95lSSAU
After a few words from the sponsor, we continue with Part 2. This is played broadly, and with topical humor, some of which may fly over the heads of those who aren’t old enough to collect Social Security..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goXi7w-1dCA&feature=youtu.be
Being a variety show, there was always a musical number, and with these two horror veterans on hand, they were the focus of it, as they drove onto the stage, in a golf cart dressed up as a hearse. Maybe it’s just me, but I genuinely enjoyed revisiting a favorite part of my youth, and I’m corny enough myself, to still be laughing on this bit of television history, as much as I did, when I saw it broadcast over 50 years ago.

Prompto the medium:
Has know he could see dead people since he was four and found out the nice older lady he baby sat him over the weekend wasn’t actually his babysitter, who had canceled vis home phone message that his parents didnt get.
He tries to help out or at least be frinedly. Meets a galahdan ghost one day who begs them to take their beads to an ostium. No other explanation.
He’s wandering around town trying to figure out how to find one, when he over hesrs a coty gaurs yelling at a glaive eho is on gate dity, they csll him Ostium.
Prompto gets excited but doesn’t want to interrupt the soldiers job. So he finds a coffee shop in sight of the gate and waits
Libertus notices immediately because Prompto is fourteen and not at all stealthy, and he notices when the kid starts following him home too.
Turns down a relatively private street when they are close to little galahd, demands to know why the kid is following him, prompto reveals the beeds. This disturbs libertis and hes more angry but this is just a kid. So he grabs him by the collar and tells him they are going to an ostium bar near the entrance to little galahd. Prom bervously agrees.
OUTLINE
Libertus pov.
He’s sitting at the gaurd post, he’s had a bad day so far, punished alongside of Nyx when he dragged the other man out of some trouble. Nyx is on gate duty on the other side of the city, probably dealing with the same bullshit as he is.
A citygaurd is mouthing off at him, some bullshit about his last name Ostium, and how many galahdans go by that name when he sees a kid staring at them from near by. He glare makes the kid bolt and he forgets about it. About twenty minutes later he looks over to the side from his post and notices the kid again, this time sitting at a cafe across the street. He panics and immediately looks away, but it was obvious he was staring at libertus. Libs keeps an eye out for the rest of his shift, and the kid is always watching him. He tries to pretend he’s not, looking away whenever he sees Libertus looking at him. But the kid isn’t very good at telling when his face is pointed that way from this distance. Those glasses are there for a reason he supposes. Unsurprisingly once he gets off shift the boy follows him, He;s just as terrible at stealth on the move as  he was at stakeouts, so Libertus turns him down several pathways on their way to little galahd, making sure Prompto is well and truly lost. Once they are about a block away from the neighborhood he turns down an alley that leads to a dead end and rounds on the boy, grabbing him by the collar and throwing him past him so that Libertus blocks the only exit.
Prompto hastily explains he was told to deliver something and hands Libs the beads. Since they are obviously the beads of someone who passed this does not make Libs happier. Tells prompto very calmly that he’s coming with him to an ostium bar near by. He is so terrifying that Prompto doesn’t argue. AT the bar, Lib is calmed down enough to realize that he’s dragged a terrified 14 year old to a strange place. Orders him a drink along with the beer for himself. And they start to talk. Libs is questioning him mostly, but it leads to Prom admitteing what he is. Libs is shocked, asked him how he learned, what his support system is like. Ends with him taking kid home, making him food, and offering help. heavily implied that libs will be around prompto alot in the future.

Arplis - News: Camping in PA is as eclectic as the state itself
The Pocono Mountains region offers campers dense forests and tumbling waterfalls while the state’s Amish Country feels like a step back in time, with sweeping views of farmland and families making their way down the road with horse and buggy. The area’s weather also sees a tremendous swing. Summers are hot and muggy while winters typically see freezing temperatures and lots of snow. But cold wintertime weather doesn’t have to mean the end of camping. While it can be much more challenging to find tent camping in the spring and winter months, year-round campging in PA are underrated for their proximity to both famous cities and beautiful nature. These 9 Year-Round Campgrounds in PA Let You See All Sides of the Quaker State We’ve tracked down some of the best campging in PA, both private and public, that offer campers the chance to cozy up around the campfire all year long. 1. Whispering Pines Camping Estates Photo by The Dyrt camper Dorothy C. Just twenty minutes from Ricketts Glen State Park and Red Rock Mountain, Whispering Pines Camping Estates is a cozy, family-friendly campground with a community feel. Nestled in a part of Pennsylvania that is still rich in old-growth forests, over twenty waterfalls, and even a rare eastern fire tower, this is an important, untouched habitat for birds and a variety of animals and is part of the official Audubon Susquehanna River Birding and Wildlife Trail. Whispering Pines balances all that rich wilderness with small town charm. They offer not only cozy, pet-frinedly rentals and cabins, but also “paint and sip” parties, a pool, hayrides, bingo, meteor shower viewings, and more. Nearby are other activities that even indoorsy visitors will enjoy, like regional vineyards and golf courses. And because Whispering Pines is open year-round, you can take in the beautiful Pennsylvania countryside in any season— including the stunning icefalls that form during the winter months. You get a lot of bang for your buck, with rates starting at just $50 a night. “Top Notch camping experience. Family friendly, Pet Friendly. The owners Dave and Teresa go out of their way to make your stay very comfortable.” –The Dyrt camper Dorothy C. Book Now Prepare for your next adventure by downloading maps. The Dyrt PRO lets you download maps and campgrounds without cell service. “My alternative to using pro would be to drive back out to cell service”. 2. French Creek State Park Image from The Dyrt camper Sarah C. French Creek State Park is the largest block of contiguous forest between Washington DC and New York City. The forests, lakes, and wetlands of the 7,730-acre park draw urbanites looking to spend some time in nature and provide a great reprieve for all Pennsylvanians. The park is home to plants and animals that are rare in the southeast part of the state. The National Audubon Society has named the park an Important Bird Area and the Pennsylvania Game Commission has named it an Important Mammal Area. This is one of the few spots for camping in PA that offers nearby urban access, located just under an hour from Philadelphia. Despite the close proximity to the city, this park offers a large campground and great access to hiking, fishing, and biking. The campground has 16 full-hookup sites, 42 modern electric sites, 141 modern non-electric sites, and 17 rustic organized group tenting sites. The campground also has three camping cottages, 10 modern cabins and two yurts available to rent. While camping is only available year-round at 47 of these campsites, the spots never fill up in the off-season, and cottages, cabins, and yurts are available year-round. Kids love the on-site campground playground. Showers, flush toilets and a sanitation dump station are also on-site. 3. Riverside Campground Located on the shores of one of PA’s most important rivers, Riverside Campground is a privately owned campground open year-round. Nestled on the edge of the Susquehanna River, the campground has 135 sites great for campers, RVs, or tents and also offers rustic tent camping sites near a stream. Cable TV and WiFi are provided at all campsites. The campground has a Laundromat and on-site lounge that serves up adult beverages and delicious grilled food. Warm showers and flush toilets are also available year-round. The campground is just a short walk to local shops and there’s a large community park located just next door that kids will love. The park has children’s playgrounds, a skate park, soccer fields and a large pavilion. This camping option features something not common for most camping in PA; a pool, that is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. 4. The Loose Caboose Campground Offering 70 year-round campsites for tent and RV campers, The Loose Caboose Campground sits on 26-acres in the heart of Pennsylvania’s Amish Country. The campground offers large, wooded, and secluded sites. Most of the campsites at The Loose Caboose are full-hookup and can accommodate any size RVs. The heated bathhouse offers free hot showers and flush toilets. Amenities include a children’s playground, gift shop, group fire ring, dumping station and free wireless internet. Being in Amish country, this campground is nearby unlikely but inviting tourist attractions, including the Railroad Museum of PA and Toy Train Museum, both just 8 miles away. If you’re looking to hit the rides (or just eat chocolate), Hershey Park is less than 45 miles away. Major cities like Philadelphia, Baltimore, Gettysburg and Washington DC are all within about 100 miles. 5. Raccoon Creek State Park Image from The Dyrt camper Brian S. Built as a public works project by the National Park Service in the 1930’s, the 7,572 acre Raccoon Creek State Park is one of the largest and most popular year round spots for camping in PA. Located just a half hour from Pittsburg, it’s a great place to steal away from the big city and immerse oneself in nature. Campers love strolling through the park’s wildflower reserve, which boasts over 700 species of plants, hiking on the 42 acres of trails and kayaking on the 100-acre Raccoon Lake. The campground at Raccoon Creek State Park has 64 modern electric campsites, 81 modern non-electric campsites, 26 tent-only sites, 4 rustic non-electric sites, 6 rustic organized group camping sites, as well as 11 modern cabins and 3 organized group cabin camping sites. The 172 modern tent and trailer campsites have access to flush toilets, warm showers and the option of electricity. While much of the campground is only open seasonally, the rustic sites are available year-round. Water and pit latrines are also available at the year-round sites. 6. Penn Avon Campground Conveniently located just two miles from the charming downtown Selinsgrove, PA, Penn Avon Campground is a year-round campground offering sites with full hookups, cable TV and free Wi-Fi. The campground also has shower houses and a dump station ($10). Kids will enjoy the on-site playground and recreational field. This campground is great for those that want to stick around for a while, offering weekly, monthly and seasonal rates to campers. Located close to the Penn Avon Campground is the Raymond B. Winter State Park, which is open for camping mid-April through mid-December. Even though the campground may not be open year-round, the park certainly is, and there’s no shortage of things to do there. Halfway Lake, the park’s main attraction, is a popular place to fish and swim during the warm months of the year. In the winter, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing draw visitors to the park. 7. Bald Eagle State Forest Not to be confused with the nearby Bald Eagle State Park, the Bald Eagle State Forest, named for the famous Native American Chief, is one of the best sports public camping in PA open year-round. The park offers primitive backcountry camping, group camping and 45 car camping spots with fire rings and picnic tables. Car camping spots can be reserved up to 90 days in advance by requesting a permit from the Bald Eagle State Forest district office. Group campsites require a letter of authorization from the District Forester, which take between 2-3 weeks to process. Primitive backcountry campsites do not require a permit as long as the camper stays only one night in each campsite. If you’d like to have a campfire at a backcountry campsite during the spring wildfire season, a permit is required. When not spending time at the campsite, there are a variety of things to do on the 193,000 acres of forest. Hikers will enjoy the “rugged and demanding” 189-mile Mid State Trail. Mountain bikers are not allowed on the Mid State Trail, but are allowed on nearly every other trail in the state forest. The forest also has one designated ATV trail, and two designated motorcycle trails. Hunting, fishing and horse riding opportunities also abound in the forest—there’s even a few equestrian campgrounds spread across the forest if you’re looking to make your next ride into a camping trip. 8. White’s Haven Campground and Cabins Settled on the edge of western Pennsylvania’s Cook Forest State Park, White’s Haven offers year-round wooded campsites for tents and RVs as well as cabin rentals. Cabins are primitive and have no water or bathroom, though cabin campers have access to the bathhouse. Tent sites are also primitive and RV sites have both water and electric hook-ups. The campground has a dump station for use by RV campers. Amenities include a playground, volleyball court and a fishing pond. Like much of year-round camping in PA, White’s Haven Campground is in close proximity to public lands for outdoors adventures any time of year. Cook Forest State Park is just a short drive away, and offers year-round outdoor recreation opportunities. The Clarion River flows through the park and is a popular place to canoe, kayak and tube in the summer months, and fish in the offseason. The park’s Forest Cathedral, a stand of old growth pine and hemlock trees, is a National Natural Landmark and worth a visit in all seasons. The park also has 47 miles of hiking trails and 4.3 miles of multi-use trails for biking, trail running and horseback riding. 9. Shady Rest Campground Image form The Dyrt camper Bryce Located on 16 acres in the heart of the mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania, Shady Rest Campground offers RV and tent camping sites for travelers just passing through and vacationers looking to set up a home base close to the Elk Mountain Ski Resort. The campground has 35 sites with water, sewer, electric and cable television. The campground also has a dump station, Wi-Fi, laundry service and showers. Primitive camping is available along Tunkhannock Creek, which also makes a great place for swimming in the summertime. Points of interest close to Shady Rest campground include Old Mill Village, an exhibit of buildings that feature the region’s history, the Steamtown National Historic Site, which features the history of steam locomotives and the Elk Mountain Ski Resort, which has some of the state’s best skiing on 27 trails over 180 acres. C A N Z X
C:is the most open to cuddling.
For cuddling the perfect character is Taz. He is the one who wants to hug every single person who he meets. Ranaman is the main target. Sadly he can never get hug from his brother.
A:is the most attractive.
Trollish muscular body and handsome bloodelf face, it’s Jakay, Taz’s only son. He’s not just good looking, but also the friendliest person who you can bump into in Booty Bay. Maybe he is a smuggler, but also kind and helpful. The smile of his can  melt your heart and if he winks too, you dead.
N:needs way more attention from me.
There are three charters, or four who needs more attention. They are all my main character’s kids. Laire, the shaman girl who was found by Rheisa and was raised up by her and Ran’drak. The son Ranaman and Búr, Zal’ju. I’ve started to wrote his andJakay’s story but I never had enough time to continue it. Also Kallesyr, Ranaman’s new mate after Búr broke up with him. So yeah. Many characters and not enough time... or patience.
Z: gets the most overzealous over something others wouldn't expect.
Overzealous? Hm... Ranaman? Yeah He can be quite Overzealous in a historical place or around any famous lorewalker. A book that can hold many secrets in connection that intressts him makes him scream like a little girl.
X: is the most xenial toward complete strangers.
Zal’ju sat next to the smuggler, shot his eyes down before he made a question towards the light skinned half-troll.‘’Jakay! C-can ah ‘ave a question?”‘’You followed me from that far place, so I can answear one.” Zal’ju found something strange at the smuggler's always joyful and frinedly personality. It made him less nerous, but was also strange for the shy priest. He asked anyway.‘’D-do ya ‘ave a house ‘ere?”‘’Yes, of course. I live here. Maybe I'm a smuggler, but I also need a hovel where I can sleep and keep my stuff.”Smiled Jakay. He noticed that the troll with half healty, half creepy eyes was still afraid. He didn't understand, but he tried to help him. He knew why Zal'ju asked so before the priest made the question, Jakay jumped up and looked into Zal's eyes. ‘’I just got a strange idea. What if you spend the night at my hovel? I have one empty bed at my room anyway. I always  wanted to have a roommate.” Zal’ju just blinked at the smuggler. ‘A mirricle’ Thought.‘’If ya really want, ah can join to ya.” Smiled shyly Zal’ju and stood up. He wanted to hug Jakay, but his nerve still didn't let it happen.

Arplis - News: Where to go Camping in Pennsylvania During Any Season
Camping in PA is as eclectic as the state itself.
These 9 Year-Round Campgrounds in PA Let You See All Sides of the Quaker State
We’ve tracked down some of the best campging in PA, both private and public, that offer campers the chance to cozy up around the campfire all year long.
1. Whispering Pines Camping Estates

2. French Creek State Park

3. Riverside Campground
Located on the shores of one of PA’s most important rivers, Riverside Campground is a privately owned campground open year-round.
4. The Loose Caboose Campground
Offering 70 year-round campsites for tent and RV campers, The Loose Caboose Campground sits on 26-acres in the heart of Pennsylvania’s Amish Country.
5. Raccoon Creek State Park

6. Penn Avon Campground
Conveniently located just two miles from the charming downtown Selinsgrove, PA, Penn Avon Campground is a year-round campground offering sites with full hookups, cable TV and free Wi-Fi.
7. Bald Eagle State Forest
Not to be confused with the nearby Bald Eagle State Park, the Bald Eagle State Forest, named for the famous Native American Chief, is one of the best sports public camping in PA open year-round.
8. White’s Haven Campground and Cabins
Settled on the edge of western Pennsylvania’s Cook Forest State Park, White’s Haven offers year-round wooded campsites for tents and RVs as well as cabin rentals.
9. Shady Rest Campground
Image form The Dyrt camper Bryce
Located on 16 acres in the heart of the mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania, Shady Rest Campground offers RV and tent camping sites for travelers just passing through and vacationers looking to set up a home base close to the Elk Mountain Ski Resort.
