DANIELLE'S FIRST CONFESSIONAL
Breezing into the room, Danielle took a seat where it was offered. When the idea of confessional's was brought up, it had the brunette stumped. "Fun fact; I'm shit at talking about myself." She laughs softly before drawing in a deep breath. "Uh - alright, so basics. Hello," A wave, "I'm Danielle Campbell. I was born in Illinois and I have a younger brother. My first acting gig was a few episodes in Prison Break. But I'm most notably known for my roles in The Originals as Davina Claire, and Tell Me A Story as Kayla Powell. I was recently in a movie called Share? That'll be out in four days." She thought of something else to say, coming up short. "Reading, I like reading. I'm currently into the A Court of Thorns and Roses series - I think if I were to put myself into a court, it'd be the Night Court for sure." She nods to herself. "I've been dealing with some things here and there that I think this place will get me away from to properly deal with it, so that'll be good. Other than that, you'll most likely catch me having a good time. Whether that be doing something wildly outrageous, reading or hanging out at the pool - it really depends on the day. So yeah, that's pretty much that. Enjoy the show!"

So. Much. Shopping. 😅
I’ve never shopped like this before and it’s exhausting! 😆 Kayla and I hit so many different stores some just for fun, tried on a bunch of stuff some we had no intention of buying, and just had a great time. I got almost everything I was hoping to and I stayed under budget 🥳 we went to Next Adventure, Athleta, Powell’s bookstore, grabbed lunch at Cheesecake Factory, went to H&M, a cute little boutique called Altered State, Lululemon, Macy’s, and another place I can’t remember because my brain is fried. All in all a great day with one of my favorite people!

All (Known) Owl References in 1x01
1:55 An owl lamp fixture in the Wheeler's basement behind Will (Uncanny parallel to Twin Peaks which also notably featured an owl lamp fixture).
10:55 A framed Owl behind Hopper, right before he leaves the house for work with his keys.
11:13 A porcelain owl on the Byers' bookcase, as Joyce is searching the couch for her keys.
11:29 An owl magnet on the fridge in the Byers' kitchen.
11:32 A framed owl (2) in the hallway as Joyce goes to check for Will in his room.
11:35 An owl print on the wall directly across from the door + another framed owl to the right on the wall behind Will's bed, only this time featuring 3 owls, one baby owl between two adult owls.
We get more shots featuring the owl on the fridge in the frame with Jonathan and Joyce before she calls Karen.
Next we have our first (and I think only) dialogue directly referencing an owl, by Hopper himself, and accompanied by a wall of keys.
18:29 'Joyce, this is Hawkins. Okay? You wanna know the worst thing that's ever happened here in the four years I've been working here? Do you wanna know the worst thing? It was when an owl attacked Eleanor Gillespie's head because it thought her hair was a nest.'
Just think about how much easier it was for the Duffers to come up with this little mini monologue from Hopper in this scene, all because they wanted to make a reference to an owl? What else would have compelled them to feel the urge to throw this in in the first place? It feels like unnecessary filler. Unless of course it's not...
This next owl is the last original reference we get in this episode (a repeat on deck), but it's honestly even more unnecessary than the previous one involving Eleanor. This one just goes to show that they are going out of their way to subtly reference owls without making it too obvious, and specifically in connection to these characters.
29:30 As Hopper is walking in the forefront of the frame, we hear Powell and Callahan in the background calling out for Will in case he's somewhere nearby. 'Will!''Will Byers!' *Hooting*
So here, we have the subtitles literally referencing Callahan's 'hooting' (like an owl), right as Hopper is taking those pills, only to suddenly find Will's bike in the woods.
This is when we get our last (known) owl reference in 1x01, and it's when Hopper arrives at the Byers, walking around the house like Sherlock Holmes looking for clues, accompanied by a repeat of the owl on the fridge in the kitchen.
31:52 'Well, he had a key to the house right?'
32:14 Owl magnet creeps in the frame at the last second, just after the dog barks, prompting Hopper to check the backyard and with Joyce following.
And that covers the owl references for 1x01!
Psst... Jo... I found another Owl in 1 x 01. The one on the can behind Mike (also... I love the framing here and the fact that Will is in a fit that we see Hopper in later in S2 and that Mike is in the outfit he gives El later on... the symbolism of it all!!!) - Kayla

it started off as a sad month. on the first day of the month, at 4:42am I've learned, that technoblade has passed away. I was in disbelief until like 9am the same day. work was the hardest thing to do. caring about others and giving them my full attention while I felt like I've just broken into a thousand pieces... it was rough. right after work I blasted this song and it helped a little, but it was still a huge thing to start feeling like I'm okay again.
2. Ancient Rome by Kayla Seeber
I didn't think this song would come out this year. I've spent so long waiting for it and was real happy when it dropped. beautiful song, beautiful message. time to manifest someone to not feel like an idiot listening to it all the time by myself.
3. Fed up by Ghostemane
oh this song...
I've just spoken to my therapist about this constant anxiety I have while using public transport and explained to her that I can't think about anything else but people wanting to hurt me while I'm on the road. she was like "do something that gets you out of this mindset, like listen to music" and I laughed so hard because I listen to music 24/7. and this is the type of music that my brain can handle while travelling so I'm in a murderous mood all the time, which doesn't really help the case, lol.
4. Queerball by McCafferty
let's all wave to the good old Queerball. no showing spotify wrapped for the family & friends this year either.
5. Family Line by Conan Gray
this song feels like it's written just for me. it hurts my soul to listen to it as I'm not really done with processing all the traumas I've been through as a kid. it's an endless list it seems like. so any time I listen to this gem, I'm feeling so much... and that's what I love about music the most.
6. BLENDER by 5 Seconds of Summer
I'M IN AN ENOTIONAL BLENDER.
and I'll never forgive 5sos because they dropped this gem after our shows and never played it live. :( I still think about that concert a lot, it feels like I'm living the dream life of my teenager self and that's a lovely thing if you ask me.
7. Trauma by zeinxd, Soufly
lol the title says it all. the song has such an unique style. the instruments, the melody, it all is such a great experience. it reminds me of the songs I used to play minecraft to non-stop like 2 years ago. I miss those times.
8. RAIN by Dreamey
yaaay "Obsessed" man is back. I loved that song so much that I listen to every single one of his new songs. this one made me fall in love instantly. rain in itself is a topic I struggle a lot with (sensory issues) and I love listening to songs about it! not to mention the other lyrics and deeper meaning in the song.
9. Angels Don't Fuck by Insincere
an old favourite. I love this song so much. I was reading my older monthly lists when I remembered this song and it's stuck in my head again. great help to fall asleep on rougher nights.
10. So My Darling - Acoustic by Rachel Chinouriri
tiktok wins again. this is one of the songs I've started to listen to at the beginning of the month. so lovely, so full of emotion. it's beautiful.
+1 is Matilda by Harry Styles
I went to listen to the HS concert and made some new friends, stared at the beautiful moon & cried a bit.
this song made me cry multiple times when I'm listening to it as it's just so emotional - at least for me.
