Sute Akuyaku Reijou wa Kaibutsu ni Otogibanashi wo Kataru - By Ede Akizawa (9/10)

A good king and a bad king can be the same man. It all depends on which side you take. Are you with him, or are you against him? Will you entertain him, or will you dare to defy him? What is the right answer? Be careful. The wrong one comes at a cost.

Sylph is the villainess. That's what Kanna says. In reality she is a quiet ducal daughter, who is not allowed to indulge in the few hobbies she enjoys. Kanna took advantage of her immense loneliness. Deep down Lady Sylph isn't very ladylike despite her noble roots. Her deepest desire is to be a civil servant who works in a library. She sneaks into one, under a fake name. Just to enjoy stories. Unrealistic fables. Young ladies are supposed to be concerned with power, motherhood and their husband. Sylph is meant for the prince too, so her immature desire to read fairytales makes her....imperfect.

Kanna shared fairy tales with Sylph. Classics she had never read before. Kanna became her best and only friend. The only person that would have fun with her. Everyone else expected her to act as the perfect Ducal daughter. With Kanna she was allowed to enjoy fantasy. Fable, and stories of love and revenge.

Kanna, the daughter of a Baron, spreads lies to ruin Sylph. Sylph was perfect on the outside, but she has always been quiet. She has no real friends. Even her fiance always seemed to know they were not a love match. Sylph was being suffocated by the princess position. By her loveless and political life. Kanna uses this. A rumor spreads. Sylph is lacking off. She is ignoring her duties and bullying other ladies. Sylph cannot defend herself, because she has been sneaking out to read at the library. Way too long. Way too often. Under a different name. Kanna encouraged her to do it. To play fantasy games with her. Kanna used her naive desires against her. Witnesses agree with Kanna. Sylph dissappears for long periods, which is highly inappropriate for a princess. Kanna's wild abuse story explains the disappearances. Kanna kept appearing wounded when Sylph disappeared. What a monster. A demon that hurts others as soon as eyes are off her...

The Prince was, of course, cheating on her already. Kanna's story worked with what the heir of the kingdom wanted. Kanna was the opposite of Sylph. A bubbly, cute girl full of compliments. She was popular too, and Sylph was too cold. No one stood up for Sylph, but Kanna had a hundred friends to stand up for her side of the story.

The royal family throws Sylph into a cursed area, where a monster roams according to legend.

Sylph writes a note, in case she passes out, begging someone merciful to unlock her cage and take her with them. Anywhere.

Anywhere but "home"

She tells the monster, King Faber the 28th, her wish. He is technically not human. He's technically the monster, but he lets his captives live if they entertain him. He knows Sylph isn't lying. Her deepest wish is to be a librarian, which is so trite that it's cute. She doesn't just want to live, like all the rest.

She wants the impossible dream, that she has cried for since she was a girl.

Faber is kind to her. Sylph shares stories with him. He likes to see her happy. He visits her daily for a month. She gets a title. She is The Kings Favorite. He gives her a dreamy life. She becomes a librarian with his blessing, and he visits each and every day. He behaves like a man in love, but Sylph is no longer naive. King Faber is extremely powerful. He is no puppet king or weak prince.

Her life is in his hands.

Strange whispers come into King Faber's isolated nation. They are loud. He, and the citizens, cannot ignore the blaze of lies. Sylph's country is claiming she has been kidnapped. Suddenly, they want her back. Why? Who? The Prince left her side long ago and Sylph had little to no relationship with her parents.

Why would they want her, when they have Princess Kanna now? Only a few months have gone by.

Sylph panics, and she does a terrible thing. She uses her status as The King's Favorite to stay in his nation. She wants to be a librarian, not the daughter of a Duke.

She will have her freedom.

Even if that means letting Faber execute people she used to know.

She knows what she is doing. She knows the kings favor is fleeting. If she makes the wrong choice he could turn on her. Her only choice is honesty. Faber is like that. He can feel lies. Cowardice. Fear. She has to kinda...be villainous to survive by his side.

Faber interrogates everyone who turned against Sylph. He kills all of them, except Kanna. Kanna has lost it all. After she took the princess seat the royal family quickly realized how useless she was. When Faber arrives she is already shut away in the dungeon. He kills everyone else for their stupidity. Their weakness. The Prince claims Kanna cursed him, and he finally noticed there was nothing special about her after her Story ended. Right after the Happy Ending her magic wore off, but Faber doesn't listen. The Prince is stupid and boring. So is the King. He makes them hold severed heads. He dumps blood on the royals. They beg him. They blame Kanna, but they die anyway.

Sylph does not kill Kanna. Killing Kanna will not entertain the king. Faber is angry because Kanna dared to discredit his Favorite. Sylph must now concoct a fitting fairytale punishment for the true villain. By the way she doesn't actually care about Kanna. She just wants to move onto her free live. What Faber is doing is cruel...to Sylph. He doesn't want her to move on yet. He did her a huge favor. He used his power to get rid of her problems, and now she must drag out the pain. The suffering, until Faber believes she has achieved true vengeance.

Sylph decides to punish Kanna with entertainment. She must make up a story every day for an entire year, in a dirty cell. If even one isn't entertaining Faber will end her life.

It's cruel.

All Sylph wants is life as a librarian, but she had to use the great strength of the monster King to get it.

Now she has to pay for his favor.

His love comes with a price.

He behaves like a classic fairytale monster, and those ancient tales are never happy.

Ninjago fairy tale AU’s because I can’t sleep

Lloyd: little red riding hood

Zane: Snow White

Echo: Rapunzel

Jay: the little mermaid

Kai: beauty and the beast

Cole: Goldilocks and the three bears

Little green riding hood

This was going to be Kai but Lloyd fit better

Oh my gosh like the fandoms expectations for the green ninja

Lloyd was told by his Uncle Wu to go pick up some tea from Mystake

On his way back, he keeps running into Akita, who’s trying to warn him of danger, but Lloyd can’t understand her

The danger is Harumi is following him. Lloyd doesn’t see her

When Lloyd reaches the monastery, Harumi is there, pretending to tend the place

She says that she’ll take the tea to Wu, and Lloyd is give her the tea, when Akita comes and scares Harumi off

Akita sniffs out Wu and after she finds him, reveals herself as a human

Then they all live happily ever after (except Harumi) the end

Snow White

Zane is the son of the oh so famous Dr. Julien, the royal inventor, but the King (ice elemental from the elemental alliance) takes a liking to Zane, and adopts him when Dr. Julien dies

Now Zane is the prince woo

The King also takes a liking to the ice emperor, but that was a mistake, because he sneakily kills the king and takes the throne for himself

“Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the coldest of them all?”

It’s Zane

So IE tells Vex to go kill Zane, but Vex doesn’t actually know how to kill a nindroid so he just tells him to run into the forest

That’s where Zane meets the 7 dwarves

Hungry (Cole) Chatty (Jay) Confused (teen Wu) Flirty (Kai) Grumpy (Morro) Happy (Echo) and Sleepy (Lloyd)

Later he meets P.I.X.A.L. who immediately catches his heart

The IE finds out that Zane is still alive, and decides that since Vex didn’t help him, he was going to have to kill Zane himself

He disguises himself and goes into the forest

He gives Zane an apple that gives him a fatal virus, but Zane doesn’t realize it’s bad so he dies (wow shocker)

Then the IE falls off a cliff

The 7 dwarves hold a small funeral and invite P.I.X.A.L.

P.I.X.A.L. realizes that Zane isn’t dead dead, so she kisses him and he comes back to life

They go back to the kingdom and Zane is crowned king, and P.I.X.A.L is queen. The dwarves are advisors

Then they all live happily ever after the end

Echo

Dr. Julien didn’t want Zane to know he was building a little brother for him, because he was getting sick, and thought he was going to die soon, and he didn’t want Zane to be sad at his brother and his father not being around

So he struck up a deal with Samukai the Skeleton

Samukai would give him a private place to build Echo, and a potion to help him get better if Samukai got to keep Echo

Not having much of an option, Dr. Julien agreed, hoping that Echo and Zane would find each other on their own

Echo was built and Samukai kept him in a lighthouse

Dr. Julien tells Zane of his missing brother

Events of Snow White (seen above) ensue and now Zane is king yay

Morro is a wanted thief and while getting away, he runs into what he thinks is an abandoned lighthouse

Only to find a rusty nindroid

Echo explains he’s always wanted to see the real world but he never got to

Morro sneaks him out and they head to the kingdom to celebrate the king’s birthday

Echo realizes that he’s the king’s brother, and he a Morro go back to ask Samukai questions

Samukai does an exposition dump, and stabs Morro, before Morro simply blows him away

Morro dies but he’s a ghost so it’s okay

They return to the kingdom and Echo FINALLY meets Zane

Morro and Echo start dating

Then they all live happily ever after the end

The Little Mermaid

Jay was always fascinated with little toys he found from human shipwrecks

He would often go on and on about what he thought they were all used for

His father may have been King Cliff, but Jay was practically raised by Ed and Edna, who taught him about the human world

His mom is dead rip

He goes to the surface and finds Nya, who he immediately falls in love with

He stays hidden, but sings Nya a little song

The ship almost wrecks, but Jay saves Nya. She’s barely waking up to his song again before he swims off. She wants to know who that voice was

Jay finds a locket with Nya and her brother in it, and he wants to take it to Nya, so he tells his dad

His dad isn’t happy that Jay fell in love with a human

After another fight with his father, Jay goes off and gets lost, but is found by Nadakhan

Nadakhan says he can make Jay human, all he has to do is wish, and Jay gets 3 wishes total. After the third wish, Nadakhan gets something of Jay’s

Jay’s first wish is to be human, his second is that he won’t be able to speak because he wants to save his 3rd wish

Nadakhan grants Jay’s wishes and Jay goes to learn to become human. He gives the locket to Nya

Nya tells him about her brother’s romantic escapades (see below) but she also tells him that she has to get married soon or she might not be able to support her career in technological advancement

She has her sights (or rather ears) set on the lovely voice she heard that night, but Jay can’t tell her that that was him

They meet Nadakhan who has come to get Jay’s third wish, but Jay won’t use it

Nadakhan says that if Jay doesn’t use his third wish by sundown the next day, he was going to kill Nya

Nadakhan uses magic to sound like Jay, and Nya has to marry him (she’s under a spell)

The next day, Jay still hasn’t made his third wish by sundown and Nya starts dying

Jay wishes her to stay alive, and says even if Nadakhan takes his legs and he never gets to see Nya again, he’ll be fine, just as long as she lives

Nadakhan grants the wish, but the spell on Nya fades away and she falls in love with Jay

I don’t know what to do with Nadakhan, I think I’ll have him just take the boat and leave

Then they all live happily ever after the end

Flirty and the Beast

Kai is the biggest flirt in their village

Everyone knows he’s just a blacksmith who likes fighting, but men and women alike can’t get enough of his flirtatious exploits

Though he’s never actually known what real love is. He also wants to go out on an adventure, but the closest he’s ever gotten was books

One day, Nya wants to take her samurai x project to ninjago city, and Kai tells her to have fun

While Cryptor (literally couldn’t find a better villain please work with me) is trying to get Kai to date him, Kai receives a message from Nya that she’s in trouble

Kai runs off to try and save her and that’s when he finds out that Nya’s been taken prisoner by an anacondrai looking person

She introduces herself as Skylor, and she says she’ll let Nya go if Kai stays with her

Kai agrees and Nya goes back to their village to get help

Nya tells Cryptor about Kai, and he just laughs it off, because Nya’s a women, and all women are crazy, but he decides that if Nya is going crazy, he could hold it against Kai

But he can’t find Kai

Back at Skylor’s mansion castle, Kai gets curious and finds the staff making Skylor a snake

After she scares him, he runs into the woods and is attacked by wolves, but Skylor saves him

They star falling in love after that

Kai asks Skylor if he could visit Nya, and Skylor reluctantly lets him go for good, thinking he might like that most

Kai also tells them of Skylor, finally realizing he loves her, and Cryptor decides to get rid of her, because “if I can’t have Kai, no one can”

They fight

After stopping Cryptor (Nya was able to shut him off) Kai shucking finally kisses Skylor and she turns into a Normal human

Wanting to help Kai go on and adventure, Skylor takes him, and Nya on a trip to visit a beach (queue previous story)

then they live happily ever after the end

Noir locks

Cole never wanted to sing and dance, but he loved watching the lumberjacks

One day he followed them out to a part of the woods he was unfamiliar with

He explores a bit more and finds a house. There seems to be fresh food, he didn’t eat breakfast and was starving, so he sneaks in

There’s cake

After eating the vanilla cake instead of the chocolate or strawberry, Cole decides to take a nap. He woke up super early to catch the lumberjacks, and walking for so long made him exhausted

He finds the most luxurious bed he’s ever slept in

He’s woken up to a high pitched scream

He sees an ivory and gold colored bear and starts screaming too

Two more bears come up the stairs

After they all calm down, the bears introduced themselves as Vania, Seliel, and Kataru

Kataru says his sister is usually here as well but she was out doing something else

Cole asks what the heck is going on and why there were talking bears sleeping in beds and eating cake

Vania explains that her father cursed her and Seliel, and Kataru was just a bear formling

Cole decides to see if he can do anything about it, so Vania leads him to her fathers mine

Cole try’s to reason with Vangelis, but the king won’t have it

Vania explains that Cole needs to shave Vangelis’s beard because that’s where he stores his magic

Cole does, but Vania and Seliel are still bears

Vangelis later explains that his magic is actually from a magic skull and he just tells people that it’s in his beard because he wants to throw them off

Cole tries to steal the skull, and Vangelis catches him and turns Cole into a bear

After fighting Vangelis and ultimately getting the skull, Cole runs off

He takes the skull back to Kataru who destroys it

Vania, Cole and Seliel turn back

Not having any real magic anymore, and just being a horrible person, Vangelis is knocked off the throne and Vania takes over

Then they all live happily ever after the end

My biggest thoughts right now are the kataru kings with superhuman powers.

Cuz if Akan and telekinesis are real, then the kings can have superpowers.

Starting off, we have good ol' Vlad Kosak, mad russian— I mean, mad Ukrainian Scribe king that splits his business between crazy and planned, but mostly mad now that his watcher is dead. His superpower, being the Scribe king, is that he can write the exact outcomes of anything that happens that he sees, or erase it if he doesn't like it. He could write

-being damaged-

-it left a piece to cross-"

at the Golden Gate Bridge, and if an airstrike occurred on the bridge, there would still be a crossing path.

Next up we have John Henry Simmons, the memorably corrupt politician and the Elephant kataru king, named after one of the best damn american folktales. His superpower, considering his political standing, is that he can hire as many watchers as he desires, so that even if one watcher dies, he still has more hired to keep him alive and afloat.

Finally, the bastard of the diamond, the mother of reincarnation, the Healer king, Dr. Helmann, the Dentist. This man, the current villain (and possibly main villain of payday 3), has been a thorn in the gang's side for a while. His superpower, seeing as he's reincarnated multiple times over in different bodies, but with the same distinguishable features like his...bright...circle glasses...is that he can allow anyone related to the kataru kings and watchers to reincarnate, so long as they are within the chamber of Baldwin's Lament at the time of reincarnation. Which explains why there are old versions of the payday gang's masks in perfectly exact detail in Henry's Rock.

These three kings keep balance to the world, keeping themselves alive and keeping others alive through their abilities, while the watchers are like the receptionists making sure the kings don't go crazy and abuse their power. This stuff is fun to talk about and I love it to bits.

thinking more about alaskan deal gone wrong au

vlad is...furious. he’s firmly in the anger part of grief--he rages against the kataru for murdering the gang, and vows to help bain get his revenge. canonically, in the ukranian prisoner, he refuses to sell out the gang and even calls them good people, he was definitely attached. (and i have feelings about the ukranian prisoner heist but i still need to actually play through it)

joy is the only real surviving heister by virtue of not having been part of the gang, and she’s pretty much pulled in once bain and locke get themselves together and start planning. she didn’t know them, not in this timeline, but she feels the expectation to do as well as them upon her.

locke can only blame himself. what can you do when it was your plan that resulted in the deaths of so many people?

well. you can take revenge, for a start.

[1] I really don’t know how to translate this in a way that’s not awkward to read, so after a couple of consultations, I compromised with “playboy”. The way it’s pronounced can also mean 優柔不断 or “indecisive”, but in this case, it doesn’t seem to mean that. Each kanji has a different meaning, so translating it becomes very weird. Individually, 遊 = play, 獣 = beast, 浮 = float and 男 = male. 浮気 can also mean infidelity or adultery, so if we take the literal meaning, it becomes something to the effect of “play beast infidelity man”.

[2] They’re now reading the kanji of 遊獣浮男 individually, 遊 = asobu, 獣 = kemono, 浮(く) = uku and 男 = otoko. I decided to keep the translation the same (playboy) since it sounds really awkward when translated literally.

What is the Paradox?

Here I am with a new song analysis in “Lyrical Love”! Today’s subject is a song by the Japanese rock singer Morrie, precisely Paradox, the lead song and second track of his first solo album Ignorance, come out on 21st November 1990. The song itself appears simple and easy to listen to, even if it has some peculiar influence, but the text is way more complex than expected.

THE MUSIC

The song starts with a fast drumming and a living guitar, leading up to a flowing theme, emphasized by the bass lines; Morrie’s voice is limpid, with some irregular shade, accompained by a nice melody, which features a jazzy vibe, in a catchy and quite simple song to follow, with an atmosphere of other times.

THE WORDS

Written by Morrie himself, the text appears pretty plain and contained, with a relevant focus on some key words, which are not by case closed between parenthesis, as for underlining their own meaning in the subject. For talking about this song, we should make an analysis of the title, as it encloses the sense of the whole thing, even if it would seem hard to find. Paradox is a word coming from Greek (παρά = against and δόξα = opinion)and it is a philosophical term indicating a fact which contradicts the common opinion of a subject. If applied to this song, we realize that the paradox is not a paradox itself, as it might seem, but despite an element of instability of a wider context, our reality. In fact the world we live, the reality we experience is made of mostly paradoxal elements, so the author doesn’t put himself on the point of view of the individual who suffers the weight of his own reality, but he watches with the eyes of the common mass, or simpler, of a maker, who, crafting the reality against each principle of existence, sees the reader, who is the real protagonist in this case, as the paradox of his own concept of the world, making the whole text as a sort of implied denunciation. And now... let’s analyze the song!

I) The text starts with the author who says that the existence starts from despair (「Zetsubou」 kara hajimeru, note the use of parenthesis on certain words, as mentioned above, likely to make their concepts external to the text itself), which is the only thing that mankind deserves (Sore igai ni kachi wanai); then he claims that an optimist should not talk about hope, one of the paradoxes of this distorted reality (Oputiimisutiikku ni/「Kibou」 wo kataru nakare); in fact according to him, the life is made of a overflowing boredom (Afure kaeru taikutsu) and finding its sense, defined as a game, is a waste of time, at least until death doesn’t come (Imi no geemu sa shinu made hima tsubushi), seeing the search of a meaning as a fiction inside another fiction, the life, enclosed somewhere else (Aremo fikushon koremo fikushon/Dokokani kumi komarete) and again he claims that a pessimist shouldn’t talk about the future, another paradoxal thing (Peshi misuteikku ni/ 「Mirai」 wo nageku nakare).

II) In the second sequence the author talks directly with the reader, defining him outrageous, as he laughs of him (Abai ta kimi mo sesera warau boku mo), while is confined in his world ( 「Sekai」 ni tojikome rarete, the use of parenthesis makes thinking that the author doesn’t live in our existence plan); he defines him the paradox, whose sense is to be found (Anata da keno paradox /Paradox/Imi wo mitsukete paradox /Paradox, in few words he is blaming the reader of his own defects).

III) In the third sequence the author describes the mankind as people spitting love (「Ai」 de subete kushizashi), which actually hides the ignorance (Sore wa muchi wo ooi kakusu, note that ignorance is the only concept not written between parenthesis, meaning that it is the device which moves the existence, according to the author), rejecting the concepts of freedom and peace, defined as immortal illusions (Atowa「jiyuu」 to 「heiwa」 de/Fumetsu no gensou); those illusions dance between the words used to be told and the author knows that he can’t have them (Kotoba ni odora sare maboroshi sae/Teniire rarenai, the second line might be translated referred to the reader, as “You can’t have them”, but I think that the first translation works better).

IV) The final sequence reprises the refrain of the second one, adding something new to the reader seen as a paradox, which must be looked at and understood, as the author can’t do that, in any way.

The human existence, in all its good and bad aspects, is seen as a paradox by the society, the mass, who lives only through ignorance and apathy. Morrie shows off his philosophical side in a compact song, with enigmatic shades and a deeper message, which engages everybody, one way or another.

AZALEA in Nagoya, Live and Fan Meeting 2018 event report

So, yesterday I went to the Love Live event.... Unit Battle National Tour Aqours Club Activity Love and Fan Meeting 2018, AZALEA in Nagoya Day 1 afternoon performance.

So if anyone was wondering why I was just referring to it as an AZALEA event, that’s why. The name is so long haha.

So this tour is actually a several month long competition between the three sub units of Aqours. The bulk of the event time is spent on several games, some are up to the girls, some require audience participation, and the points are totaled overall.

I actually got to go to the first performance in the country OVERALL, so we started with a blank scoreboard and left off with AZALEA obviously in the lead. (It wasn’t supposed to be the first performance. It was supposed to start from Guilty Kiss in Sapproro, but that event was cancelled due to the earthquake tragedy which shut down power and transportation a few days before.)

So, the first game was a quiz which was completely up to the audience. We answered by choosing different colors on our lightsticks and then the girls chose the most popular answer. The questions ranged from a question about Nagoya Japanese that I didn’t understand, to minuscule details about the anime. Such as, who was the first character who appeared in the first season. Answer... Riko! She walks into the classroom, then it pans to Chika’s reaction.

The second game was a typical school sports festival game of throwing beanbags in a basket.

The third game was like.... blind charades. One of the girls had to strike a pose, and the other two would feel her and try to copy the pose and guess. (Really not as risque as it sounds I swear ahah.) The first two were police and basketball, then Arisha just got “Dia Kurosawa” so she held up her hands in the “BU-BUU” stance.

This was proceeded by a talk section where they answered questions from fans and such. There was a lot of direct interaction with fans. Like, they had the folks who sent in the questions stand up to be recognized and such. There was a big flag we could draw them messages on before the show, and then they looked over it and called out to people who wrote certain things. Like, there was this really cute Dia drawing and when they said it was cute the girl who drew it was so happy!!! Aaaah! I just wrote a heart that said “HUG” in it. I wish I had done something more creative. I may go again to one of these for CYaRon so if anyone can think of something creative I could do to the flag lemme know ahaha.

Then finally there was a performance of course. They did their AZALEA songs, Galaxy Hide and Seek, Inocent Bird, and Torikoriko Please! But they also had us vote for a new AZALEA version of another song: Todokanai Hoshi da to Shitemo, Pops heart de Odorunn da mon!, or Sora mo Kokoro mo Hareru kara. I voted for Todokanai Hoshi da to Shitemo and was ecstatic when it won because yelling “ONE TWO SUNSHINE!!!” was every bit as fun as I hoped. They ended Yume Kataru yori Yume Utaou and an singalong/dance-along encore of Hop Step Waai, the theme song of the event.

It always takes them like 10 minutes to get to the encore. Which is understandable as the girls deserve a break. But when I am at a live viewing, I usually take a break from cheering for them just because they can’t hear me anyway. But at the actual event I was like... must keep... going... ahaha...

At Aqours concerts people usually cheer “Aqours” instead of “encore.” We started off cheering “encore” but then a couple people started cheering “AZALEA” and then we were all cheering “AZALEA”! They said it was the first time they ever got an AZALEA call.

So, this was actually my first ever legit Love Live event. I have been to theater live viewings, and watched plenty of concerts, but this was my first time actually being THERE and responding to calls and that was so big. Love Live concerts have so much audience participation and it just felt SO DIFFERENT so amazing to actually be there and really responding and ahhh... I got so emotional.

I expected to be all about Suwawa since I enjoyed watching her in past events, but Kin-chan and Arisa (her nickname is Arisha? I didn’t hear it at the actual event) were amazing too.

At one point they were saying AZALEA battle cries in the poses of their characters, and Hanamaru is like... I can’t find the full body art online, but she’s like jumping up on one leg with her arms out. So Kin-chan was trying to jump into that pose and say “I won’t lose!!!” before she fell. I also just love how happy she is when she’s voicing Hanamaru and she goes full zuRAAAA! I never paid much attention to her before, but I’m a fan now!

Arisha was beautiful and a class act. They actually started playing the wrong song at one point (Innocent Bird instead of Galaxy Hide and Seek) and she was on the stage by herself to start Galaxy Hide and Seek. And I forget exactly what she said (no it wasn’t bu-buuu haha) but she reacted in character as Dia and it was so good it took me a couple minutes to realize it was even a mistake.

To be honest, AZALEA wouldn’t have been my first choice of the sub units to see. I would have gladly seen ANY of the units coming to Nagoya, it just happened to be AZALEA. But I really loved seeing them. They were amazing. And I am now all like GO AZALEAAAaaaA! (...It will probably only last until I get to see CYaRon though ahah...) I am really interested to see how the competition progresses. The winning group will get some special merch and stuff, and we won’t know who wins until March 2019!

I was a bit worried about going to this event initially, because some of the live viewings I have been to were pretty wild (what with the crazy male Love Liver crowd and all) so I figured the real thing would be even crazier but... no, actually people were pretty cool. Maybe because there were only three of them, and there is a special kind of magic when all 9 are together. I did feel a little less tension myself for that reason. I quite don’t know but, I do think I am interested in trying to go to more events from now on!!

i tried to connect some of keyaki’s music videos...

This is how I’ve connected Keyaki’s music videos... I whipped this up just days after Gentsuyoubi MV was released. Typed this on a whim in the library.

Part 1: Te wo Tsunaide Kaerou ka -Gloomy girl Yurina dreams of a girl (Neru), who dreams about a class full of girls brought back to the past. While the other girls try to figure out where they were, Yurina and an unknown girl (Yui) head to an infirmary and the latter attempts to tend to Yurina’s injury. As she was done, the unknown girl waits for Yurina to fall asleep. She then pulls a switch, making all the girls fall asleep or were they just tired? No one will know.... However, Yurina isn’t affected by the trigger Yui pulled. Yurina then unknowingly roams around the abandoned school and the wheat field nearby, eventually taking refuge in an empty music room. She continues her counting as she plays with the toy piano and the faint sound that is produced by the radio continues to play. Yui then finds her and Yurina shows her completely healed wound. After the confrontation, the dream ends as Neru wakes up, only to be woken up by Yurina. Yurina asks Neru what she dreamt about, the latter only telling her that she was a kidnapper. The dream ends...

*Ha! Neru’s a weird character from the start!

Part 2: Yamanotesen -Trapped inside the Yamanote-sen loop, Yurina remains confused. She yearns to be free from the loop. Situations later, she then figures out the right way out, but does not know what the future holds.

Part 3: Eccentric - After escaping the Yamanote-sen loop, Yurina learns to cope with society after being sheltered for so long. The girls from Yurina’s dream turned out to be real people, as they coincidentally go to school with her. She interacts with them like normal school girls, but everything still confuses her. Also, two key characters (Neru and Yui) were missing. She hasn’t seen them ever since she had that weird dream. As time went by, Yurina gets tired of the people that surrounded her. One day, she leaves the campus as she just felt the need to.

Keyakizaka: The girls from Yurina’s dream. A rowdy bunch with a mix of personalities. Yurina does not realize that she is one of them (not a saimajo pun ☹) and is the epitome of all their weirdness. As Yurina left, the girls went into an uproar, forming groups that opposed each other.

Part 4: Gentsuyoubi no Asa, Skirt wo Kirareta -The girls realized that they could function well without Yurina, so almost all of them have made a deal. Some girls were up for Yurina’s demise, but some were left confused. (Namely Rika, Miyu, and the two Yuis) While most of the girls continued to treat Yurina with violence. The others roam places near the Yamanote-sen, letting out some of the anger and confusion that they have been feeling, with Yurina in mind. Yurina roamed all over the the city, thinking where she had gone wrong. Did she alight at the wrong station? Being fed up with the treatment towards her, Yurina finally blows up and expresses her anger inside a bus heading to somewhere.

Thinking that things were finally at its worst, Neru jumps into the picture and spreads news about an alliance. An alliance that does not conform to societal norms. The confused girls were up for it, as all they ever wanted was to be accepted. Little did these girls know that all of them felt the same pains… The pain that no one wanted to bat an eye to somebody who was different.

Negotiations were then made, and all that’s left was for someone to embody them. And that was the gloomy girl from Yamanote-sen.

Part 5: Silent Majority - The girls have formed a group. A group that completely opposes acceptable standards made by society. They were going to be themselves, and they strongly oppose to be “one of them”. Neru is absent in this phase, despite giving the idea of building the formation. Yurina, being the embodiment, now carries a heavy burden. But knowing that she is being relied on by girls that have similar thoughts and ideals as her, she is fine with it.

Parts 6 and 7: Sekai ni wa Ai Shika nai + Futari Saison -After several mishaps, the girls then express and let positivity take over them. They learn to appreciate their surroundings and the people around them. Sure, they do hate society, but they learn that running on hate isn’t good. They must also learn to love. The girls also realize how beautiful the world is despite what season they are in.

Part 8: Kataru Nara Mirai wo... -The girls soon realize that they were blinded by the beautiful things their surroundings had to offer. They’ve seen this as a distraction, so they conclude that everything was a trick. A trick so that society could mold them into “normal” people. This phase will be the interchange of their journey so far.

Endings

Good End: W-KEYAKIZAKA no Uta -Despite the doubts and misunderstandings that have formed within the group, the girls now live in peace and harmony knowing that they have successfully met their mutual goal: to live in a world free from adults Neutral End: Fukyouwaon -The struggle continues. The girls continue to fight for what they believe in. Shortcomings and arguments are to be met. Bad End: Otona wa Shinjite Kurenai - All efforts are futile. They have failed. The girls have become mere puppets that have been controlled by the adults, as well as the society that they have come to hate. Madness and loss of hope are some results.

this was totally random and unnecessary, but i somehow wanted to do it, lol. didn’t edit anything and all of this was pretty much typed in one go. thanks for reading up to this point!!!!
