Younghyun laughs. “What do you want? I can get it for you.”
“No thank you. You can keep using his stash.” Wonpil props his chin in his palm. “I’d prefer not to.”
Younghyun feels oddly defensive. “Hey, I don’t use his stash either.”
“Why not? My stash is probably boring in comparison...”
“Your stash is perfectly fine! I like using your stash!”
They stare at each other for a second before Wonpil bursts out laughing. Younghyun shoves at his knees, making Wonpil fold his legs to his chest out of reach — which then makes it all too easy for Younghyun send his chair into a wicked spin. At the mercy of inertia, Wonpil yelps and flails around for the nearest stable object.
The object just so happens to be Younghyun.

Their eyes meet.
Warmth. That’s what hits first, square in the chest. It’s familiar, the same kind of warmth Younghyun feels on quiet nights when it’s just the two of them and they get talk about the things they never talk about during the day. But underneath that warmth, there’s a current of prickly dread, mirroring Younghyun’s. A thundering heartbeat. Fear and anticipation mixing into a dizzying sludge. Then comes the vague shape of a thought:
Say it again.
“Wonpil-ah,” Younghyun says instinctively. Wonpil blinks in surprise, eyes quickly flicking away, but not before Younghyun catches that — a flush of pleasure crawling liquid down Wonpil’s spine. The shadow of it fades fast, leaving Younghyun cold.

I’ve loved these for ages, because of how they show the colourations of extinct animals! that’s something that is so hard to preserve through fossils, but now we know that prehistoric horses had Przewalski-esque coats, that giant elk had these dark shoulder humps, and that cave lions were tawny with dorsal stripes
#the book I did (kaleidoscope of dinosaurs) is all about the colourations of extinct animals#and there's a 2-page spread about French cave paintings
