INTRODUCING CHIYO HATANAKA, THE SHSL ACTRESS!

Name: Chiyo Hatanaka「千代幡中」

Personality: Despite being a genuinely compassionate and empathetic person, Chiyo is socially awkward around her peers and often accidentally puts her foot in her mouth. She values hard work, honesty, and sincerity.

About: You could say Chiyo’s very conception was a scandal. Born to the famous director Hiroshi Yuuya and his leading lady at the time, Emi Hatanaka, she was labeled a no-good illegitimate child before she could so much as talk. Chiyo grew up under the care of her mother, and started acting in productions when she was four. Due to the neverending negative press, she felt a lot of pressure to prove herself as she was growing up and spent years carefully cultivating a positive image, often missing out on important childhood experiences to do so. She is supported wholeheartedly by her mother, who she’s obviously close to. When asked about her father, Chiyo’s only answer remains a consistent “No comment.”

As far as her acting prowess, Chiyo’s the real deal – expect nothing less than glowing reviews and standing ovations after every performance. Her name’s connected to plays, musicals, movies, TV shows, you name it! She was most recently cast in a live-action remake of the popular “Emiko Enchanti” anime that is set to debut next year.

If your OC has a soulmate, who is it?

Oooh, what an interesting question!!!!! I think for Chiyo it would be someone with patience, someone who will support her and isn’t afraid to ward off the press. Someone who takes an interest in her interests, the way she’ll get invested in theirs. Someone who will hold her hand, pat her head, tell her how they really feel. Someone she can sing for, someone to dance with no matter where they are, someone to fawn over, someone she can constantly make posts for the whole world to see how proud she is of them.

For Hotaru... she wants someone she doesn’t have to perform for. This person that she can be around as herself, not as Hotaru the Radio Personality. Someone who shares her love for shibe inus (or at least dogs in general). Someone who makes her laugh for a change. Someone she can share music with, who will respect her choices without sacrificing their own wants. She wants someone who will let her guide them through a skating rink, someone who she can make lunches for, someone who she can share kisses with and feel as though she’s soaring every time.

which character/s from the danganronpa games would your ocs find it difficult to relate to and why?

This is such a great question! Let’s see….

Chiyo wouldn’t be able to relate to Sayaka, Oowada, Celes, Saionji, Komaeda, Souda, Iruma, Ryoma, Shinguuji, Junko, or Tsumugi.

Sayaka’s plan to throw Naegi +everyone else under the bus would, without a doubt, disgust her

She’d find Oowada’s “reason” for killing Chihiro bullshit

She’s too empathetic to relate with Celes

She’d disapprove of Saionji’s attitude

Who WOULD understand Komaeda honestly

Souda….. incel

Iruma’s way way too inappropriate. (Chiyo tries to maintain a perfect reputation, remember!)

Chiyo hasn’t really experienced depression, and wouldn’t be able to relate to Ryoma’s views on life

Shinguuji’s “canon” self (with the incest) is not relatable for very obvious reasons

I feel like Junko and Tsumugi are self explainable

Hotaru, on the other hand, has the ability to truly put herself in another person’s shoes. Although she may not personally relate to certain characters, she can at least understand the reasoning behind their actions. Exceptions would be Komaeda, Ouma, and Junko.

Komaeda and Ouma are especially difficult to read

The way Junko just is ‘despair’ is hard for her to comprehend

SO i have a LOVELY friend ( @tenkumi c; ) who’s going to draw my OC but until she’s ready i wanted to kinda tease Violinist’s appearance with this portrait maker thingie!! her hair and clothes will be WAY different but i think i did pretty well with her skin/features/etc. ^^

hey kae!! chiyo seems so cute!! are there any specific roles that chiyo had that she hated?? o:

thank you sm bab!!!!!

chiyo hasn’t really hated any of the roles she’s played; she likes being challenged as an actress, so has no problem in being the antagonist or doing a role that’s a bit unorthodox!

however, there have been instances where she’s hated the environment behind the show (could be bc of ppl having bad attitudes, being forced to do something she’s not comfortable with, anything involving her dad, etc.)
