Buff Chichi😤💖
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just thought it’d be funny to draw this, but at the same time I’m so mad we were robbed of a buff Chichi. Like….Miss Ma’am was the world’s strongest woman at some point and you’re saying she had no muscle mass whatsoever?!!?!?!asiwybfuheu
There is no way she wasn’t able to have that body 😭 I can understand maybe losing some of it when she was having Gohan, but to lose all that FOREVER?!?! Nahhhh. GOKU WOULD’VE BEEN ALL OVER HER TOO, don’t lie. Punching the air rn. This originally didn’t even have all the other doodles, it was just gonna be a meme art of Chichi carrying her man but it evolved during the second phase of the sketch 🗿
either way it’s a crime that we never see much of her to begin with, much less for her to actually have a body that could hold up to her old title. I’ve seen other buff chichi arts on here and they make me laugh so much bc y’all are wild so that’s why I made this😎. Anyways, if you are part of Chichi nation please rise up bc I don’t see many who appreciate her character, our queen was lost to bad writing and lack of screen time.😢
Also toddler Gohan is-aeljnfwljnf. He would def tell some bully that his mom can “beat their a$$”, though she would flip for just hearing about him using that language by his teacher and would more likely monitor him around Goku’s friends there on out lmao.
HC that OX King very much treats Chichi like a “daddy’s girl” therefore he always keeps mementos of her milestones growing up, hence the photos of her being ripped while going to tournaments or just training in their villages’ dojo. He got into scrapbooking when he got into taking more photos of her and definitely commissions or makes borders for them and adds stickers to them for funsies. :)
Goku may or may not also be a thigh type of guy, idk he would fr go wild with it if he had a more sculpted chichi but that could just be me🤷🏽‍♀️

cupid!goku & psyche!chichi au
Based on Antonio Canova’s iconic sculpture ‘Psyche revived by Cupid’s Kiss’. I did a bunch of sketches based on this sculpture as reference, but decided not to do an exact replica despite it being one of the most romantic poses ever in art. I finished this on May 7th and held back on posting until now :)

🫀The Heart's Savior.
Hello everyone, wolfpack! As I promised, here is part two on Yamcha's key role in the Androids and Cell saga. For those of you who have not yet read part one, you can catch up with my analysis of Yamcha and Goku's relationship by clicking here.
PART 2: The Present.
This time, as I anticipated in the previous post, I will deal with the present. This means that just as Yamcha took care of his past, in this case represented by Goku, he also went out of his way to take care of what was happening around him. So I am referring to those moments when there was no time to stop and think, or those moments when there was nothing else to do but give comfort or any kind of help.
Tumblr media
Before we get into that, I want to point out an aspect of Yamcha that I think is curiously impossible to eradicate. Let's face it, Akira Toriyama did not treat him very well. Or rather, he didn't make the most of him. Although I'm sorry to say it, I think all of Yamcha's potential came up not because Toriyama really wanted it, but because in his mind he needed someone to sentence those exact words. So Yamcha was always a tool, and as long as he expressed himself to give support to his friends it could have been fine. The problem arises when at some point (precisely upon Trunks' arrival) Yamcha changes dramatically, becoming a wimp who prefers to run away instead of a daredevil who is willing to do anything to help. I would like to recall that long ago, despite having a broken leg, he had ignored this disability of his to go and help Goku and Tenshinhan against the Great Demon King Piccolo. Or even, it was always Yamcha who had motivated his friends to join Goku and face the Red Ribbon army together with him.
Tumblr media
So it is strongly logical that the "new Yamcha" we see is not the result of a sensible character change but simply the result of a stupid and awkward narrative necessity. When Trunks arrives in the past and shortly thereafter reveals himself, Akira Toriyama could not afford to put Bulma on the wrong side. She was still the second main character in Dragon Ball, and besides that her relationship with Yamcha, despite its ups and downs, was loved by many. I mean, even the original voice actors of the two were convinced that sooner or later they would really get married, so their breakup had to look like something that made sense; moreover, the breakup had to justify Bulma's final decision and especially redeem the figure of Vegeta, who from then on would officially take Tenshinhan's place as Goku's historical rival. How to do this, then? Simple: Yamcha is a stupid good-for-nothing cheating womanizer who is afraid of everything. Problem solved! Well… Not really, but still it must be admitted that Toriyama has succeeded to some extent since many Dragon Ball fans are really convinced of this. I will discuss this on another occasion. Now it is important to point out that in this arc it is absolutely evident that there is an attempt to scuttle the character in every way possible, but as I said before, it almost seems as if Yamcha himself tried to take over and go beyond the wishes of his author. Simply put: it got out of their control. Majin Yamcha cannot exist!
I mean, it's as if he wants to say, "Okay jerks, you wanna make me useless? Fine, but I'll be in my own way!"
Tumblr media
Here you can see Yamcha lashing out at the Toei Animation people of making him look useless.
Of course, these are just impressions. We will never know how much they realized Yamcha's value, but let us say that even though they represented him in this saga as a mere sidekick or driver or nurse, they unintentionally made him greater than he already was. And it's nice to be able to see that even though Yamcha was backed into a corner, he still managed to make a difference. This shows how even for Toei Animation and Toriyama it is impossible to distort this character. That's why I say that it is Yamcha himself who is rebelling against his unfair fate: his way of doing things, which we have come to know from the beginning of Dragon Ball, cannot be changed. He may be an adorable clown, he may be afraid of new enemies and he may even be weaker than others, but that does not mean that he is ridiculous, cheater and especially useless.
Keep all this in mind: on the one hand we have Toriyama's willingness to destroy the character, and on the other hand we have Yamcha whose few "superfluous" lines disproves it all. It is a sneaky battle that I urge you to notice better, especially since it is from these seemingly unnecessary moments of his that Yamcha's heroism is best delineated.
Well, now we can really start.
Buckle up because this is going to be a looooong read.
Tumblr media
In this chapter we will see how Yamcha not only took care of Goku and Chichi, but also of many other people. We are in the present, that is the time when absolutely no misstep is allowed. Any wrong attitude could change the fate of the world, and Yamcha knows this well because Trunks told of a disastrous future in which there is nothing left but hope. Here is the key word. Hope. It is said to be the last to die, and that is absolutely true, but in order for it to endure over time, even when everything falls apart, it is important that it be fueled by love. Yamcha is the absolute personification of this. Throughout Dragon Ball he has always been the first to hope and believe that all is not lost. Moreover, he has always been the one who has consoled and helped the characters not to break down. As I have already said, this attitude is essential for a fighter. Being emotionally prepared for a battle can change things, and we have seen this many times. So that Yamcha is a real motivational coach should not go so unnoticed, especially in a context where even Goku's strength is doubted.
In short: Yamcha is the one who saves the mood.
So, dear friends, we will now explore together those little details that could rehabilitate our beloved Yamcha and make him essential in a context that does not seem to have considered him enough.
...No, wait. May I begin by saying that Yamcha saved even the Kame House?
Tumblr media
Come on, I'm kidding. Let's start with a rather simple scene. In this case, the character called upon is Tenshinhan.
Tumblr media
The friendship between Yamcha and Tien is crazy. Their rivalry during the 22nd Tournament was stronger than that between Goku and Tien himself, which made their reconciliation even more exciting.
Tumblr media
We are at the moment when Tenshinhan tries to stop Cell from absorbing Android 18. His strength is dwindling out of all proportion; at Kame House Chiaotzu and Yamcha sense that their friend is doomed. Therefore Yamcha proposes to rush to his rescue. Although it is nothing new that Yamcha wants to take action to save his friends in danger, this is a small scene that shows how incongruent Dragon Ball has become at some point. Okay, I can also accept that Yamcha is a guy who feels he has to act only when the situation is particularly close to him and his heart is tickled, but I absolutely do not accept that his will to do is always stopped by a force superior to him: the plot.
Tumblr media
In this case, Muten stops Yamcha's determination by telling him that going to help Tien wouldn't be smart because they would risk death as well. All right, it may be true, but Yamcha certainly didn't want to stop Cell. Yamcha only wanted to save his friend, also because we all know the lethal effects of the (Shin) Kikoho. It means Yamcha would have picked up Tien and carried him away, or at best it means he would have helped him by using his Sokidan to distract the enemy, or even the kamehameha. I want to emphasize it again: not to kill Cell, but just to distract him and buy time. Well, for reasons unknown to us, the saying "unity makes strength" does not apply if you are an earthling. At least at this time, since at the end of the Cell Saga everyone will seriously join forces to help Gohan. And may I have my say? It is the highest moment in all of Dragon Ball Z, because for the first and only time all the Z-Fighters unite to defeat the enemy and win.
Tumblr media
Whatever. Let's ignore what to me is a big plot mistake and focus again on Yamcha: as you can see, he would have wanted to do much more than what he was given and the fact that he wants to intervene against Cell, who is even stronger than the Androids 19 and 20 who almost took him out, confirms how Yamcha was thwarted by the narrative and not by his supposed weakness.
It is quite funny that all these contradictions and all the attempts to make him a good-for-nothing, if seen from the right perspective, can seriously save Yamcha's reputation. You just have to be a little more careful. Be that as it may, once again we can see how Yamcha's heart is big enough to put his own life on the line in order to save his close friend. If only Toriyama Muten had not stopped him…
Now it is Gohan's turn.
If taking care of Goku and Tien is more obvious because they are two friends he has loved for so long, taking care of Gohan is quite different. Well, let's say that what Yamcha feels for anyone is unconditional love. He loves and it is by loving that he is able to feel stronger. It is a feeling that goes even beyond hatred, but we will talk about that another time. In Gohan's case, Yamcha's love takes on an even symbolic role.
Tumblr media
At this point you might think that I am abusing the word "love", but…. Did you read that correctly? It is Yamcha himself who uses it. What's more, he is the only one who uses it. After all, Yamcha is the only one who explicitly admits his desire to love. Bulma's first wish was to find a boyfriend, while Yamcha's dream was to get married and consequently love someone for the rest of his life. He is the most romantic character of all, and it is a pity that this peculiarity of his is seen as one more reason to think him weak. Instead, I believe that confessing certain feelings makes him even stronger than all those who hide them. So I'm really glad that at such an important moment Yamcha has spoken words that are absolutely in line with his character. At least in this he has not been distorted.
Tumblr media
Although it is evident that the boy's second father is Piccolo, we can also speculate that he was not the only one. Especially after Goku's death, I like to think that someone like Yamcha visited Chichi and her son often so that they would not be lonely. After all, Chichi is also pregnant, which further supports the hypothesis that Yamcha may have been there for them in some way. Uncle Yamcha, right? Sounds good! But let me tell you our dear bachelor dude has the makings of a good father. I mean, maybe during these years he was actually the one who taught Gohan how to play baseball? Who knows...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As I told you in the previous chapter, Goku has been like a little brother to protect for Yamcha. Even if Goku was definitely stronger than Yamcha and could defend himself, the little saiyan possessed a great weakness: he was naive. How many times was he teased by villains because he had trusted them? And how many times was he taken by surprise by enemies because he had no idea who they were? Well, Yamcha helped him open his eyes many times. He has watched over him where Goku's innocence was not enough, and using his own bandit-like nose in his favor, Yamcha has gotten him out of little and big trouble. The only reason I don't call him paternal is only because the age difference is minimal, but certainly the drawings from long ago help to better convey the idea of how much Yamcha's stature shielded Goku's pudgy little body.
Tumblr media
I always found this moment tender because Bulma, Yamcha and Goku look just like mommy, daddy and son. Therefore, it is not at all strange to imagine that all this kind of love felt for Goku has also projected toward his son. However, this time the fatherhood is definitely evident, both because the age difference between Yamcha and Gohan is greater and because it could only be otherwise. We said that Yamcha's mission is to take care of everyone, right? So do you think he could have ever backed down from helping the son of the man who led him to the path of good?
Tumblr media
It is the most natural thing Yamcha can do. As he loved Goku when he was small and innocent now he loves his son. He owes it to him. Personally, I do not consider it an accident that it is Yamcha himself who takes Gohan in his arms. He could have taken care of Trunks' body, but since Yamcha is Goku's guardian he could only take care of his child. Ultimately we can say that Yamcha, in this saga, has taken care of the complete Son family. He cared for Goku during his illness, consoled and comforted Chichi, and finally helped Gohan when the evil had been defeated. I find it emotional that Gohan says thank you to him. It seems like a small thing, but considering Yamcha's treatment in recent years, it is nice to be able to see that characters once respected him for what he did.
Tumblr media
As evidence of his value, there is also this brief exchange of words between Yamcha and Tien in which Yamcha's good heart is emphasized even more. Despite suffering from the fight against the Cell Juniors, one of whom even broke his arm, Yamcha ignores these painful wounds and equally takes the boy in his arms as if nothing happened. It really seems that his desire to protect Gohan is stronger than the suffering he is experiencing physically. Seriously, at this point I really cannot believe how it is possible for such a pure character to be brutally hated or mocked.
Tumblr media
Guys, we are almost finished. Actually I would have gone on even longer than that, but I don't want to bore you so much. I just think Yamcha deserves all this attention, and since we possess few moments of him I feel that dwelling on his seemingly tiny actions is essential to redeem the character. When I say make Yamcha great again I really mean that he was once great in earnest, and I hope that this will be noticed someday even by those who did not understand him enough. Also by reading all of this or other people reflections in the web.
Now let's go back and address an equally historic friendship, that between Yamcha and Krillin.
Tumblr media
Yamcha and Krillin share a deeper bond than people think. For example, many people do not remember that the two of them trained together under Muten's supervision, just as Goku and Krillin did long before; also always together they experienced the Fortuneteller Baba adventure, climbed Karin's tower, and finally trained at the same time in Kami's palace. We can safely say that Yamcha and Krillin share many more moments together than Krillin experienced with Goku, and while this does not necessarily make them best friends, it does not mean that the love they have for each other is any less.
Tumblr media
The result of this important relationship is found once again in the Cell Arc. I told you, this is where Yamcha plays all his cards and shows that he has done everything for everyone.
Tumblr media
The scenes between Yamcha and Krillin are also the simplest in this entire analysis, but I still would not take them for granted. For example, here we witness a psychologically devastating moment for Krillin. His guilt over not pressing the remote control button that would have destroyed Android 18 grips him to the point where he makes the decision to confront Cell and thus repair the damage done, but once again Toriyama Muten stops him because it is not his place to fight. So we see him distressed, angry with himself and in the throes of an impending nervous breakdown, but suddenly a hand rests on his shoulder and with that simple warmth tries to sweep away all his frustration.
Tumblr media
Yeah, it is Yamcha again. Once again he steps in to lift someone's spirits, and while it may not necessarily make Krillin really feel better, it is still to be appreciated that Yamcha did not make him feel alone and guilty at an absolutely sensitive time. I mean, the world was also falling apart because of that fatal decision by Krillin. It is normal that he felt wrong, but Yamcha immediately puts himself in his friend's shoes and without a second thought rescues him as much as he can, because he cannot accept Krillin's collapse. Controlling every single emotion continues to be crucial.
Be that as it may, I find this scene as touching as it is sad. It is touching because once again Yamcha is there for his friends, but it is sad because if we go back over and review the scene where Yamcha feels impotent in helping Tien, no one rests a hand on his shoulder to make him feel better. Toriyama Muten remains quite impassive and this only increases the sense of uselessness that is intended to be given to Yamcha. I swear to you, writing all this makes me really sick. It's like I see myself in this kind of unfair loneliness that never seems to want to let him go.
Tumblr media
Well, however, this is not the end of the story. Actually I would say that now the most depressing part of the topic begins. When I say that Yamcha was destroyed in every possible way, I really mean in every possible way. Although this saga indeed contains so many good moments of him, it is also the arc that definitively marks his death. In fact, from this moment on, Yamcha is deprived even of his only purpose, which is to get married, because he is given over to Krillin himself. The decision to tie him to Android 18 is as beautiful as it is sadistic, if we see the whole situation from Yamcha's point of view. Krillin has never expressed a desire to marry and fall in love. From the beginning, he has always seen martial arts as an excuse to impress girls, and while this does not mean that he should not find a woman for life, it is quite unfair that once again Yamcha's wish has gone unheeded. This would have been the perfect opportunity to fulfill his dream, but for who knows what reason (come on, we know why by now…) they decided that it should be Krillin who should get married. Mind you, I am absolutely happy for him. The Krillin/18 couple is one of the most beautiful. All I am saying is that it is not fair to a character who has ALWAYS sought love. His misfortune in love is no longer funny. Being a positive character, I think it is fair to give him at least a win, but as we will see somehow Yamcha will make his case in other ways. He is not the type to be so easily put down, and that is why his many facets make him one of the most interesting characters in Dragon Ball.
Tumblr media
This is one of the most tender moments in Dragon Ball but also one of the most misunderstood. Yamcha comes off as a bit of a fool in this scene because he is the only one who is afraid of Android 18, but I defy anyone not to have smiled a little at his comedy. After so many episodes where we have been with dread in our eyes because of Cell, Yamcha's lightheartedness is a breath of fresh air. In a way, it is as if he takes us back in time, when in Dragon Ball we rejoiced over little. He is the fighter who keeps the soul of OG Dragon Ball alive.
Tumblr media
But Yamcha doesn't just make us laugh. Yamcha shows us that after all the hatred felt for Cell it is love that is what remains. Love and hope. Although Goku is gone, the world keeps turning and it is absolutely necessary to continue to have faith and live life even more than before. Therefore Yamcha does not hesitate and, as a good friend, does everything to help Krillin hope. If it were not for his encouraging words, Krillin would have left the palace disappointed to have missed an important opportunity. Instead, Yamcha instills in him a small chance, helps him notice that Android 18's does not feel like a farewell, and most importantly, he does not make him feel unworthy. A similar thing happens in the videogame FighterZ, where Yamcha and Krillin have a conversation about women and it turns out that Krillin has an attraction to female androids. He seems ashamed of this, but Yamcha doesn't mind. On the contrary, he reassures his friend to never make him feel wrong, because at the end of the day, love has no limits and he knows well that. He supports him. He supports everybody, but unfortunately nobody supports him. That's why we have to do it!
Tumblr media
I have always found this lovely. Yamcha always cheered for his friends, even when they managed to get married. He was never envious, never tried to stand in the way of their happiness, always smiled for them. This is the most beautiful characteristic of Yamcha, especially when we consider that it is highly likely that this disproportionate love he feels for others goes hand in hand with his sense of loneliness. It is as if helping others distracts him from the sense of failure he feels for himself.
Tumblr media
Like here. It almost seems as if Krillin is apologizing for stealing his chance to get married. As if he's trying to say "hey man, sorry I'm the one who found love and not you. I am so sorry that your fate in this story is so bad. You don't deserve it, friend". It's just a figure of speech, because obviously there is no connection between Yamcha and Android 18, but I think you get my point.
Tumblr media
Yamcha even calls him silly. Not only because one should never apologize when it comes to love, but especially because it is not his style to stand in the way of the feeling that most represents him. Oh please, let's ignore that Yamcha has to give an expensive necklace to his "girlfriend." I gather from these few words that she is definitely not the kind of woman he deserves, but we will talk about that another time. Regardless, it is good to see Krillin smiling thanks to Yamcha, since until recently he was sad about losing Android 18 and especially his close friend Goku. He would have returned to the Kame House in the wrong mood, and we all know how a bad day can be fatal. Who knows, maybe it is because of this nudge from Yamcha that Krillin and Android 18 got together.
We end this long journey in the present with this beautiful frame of Krillin saying thank you to Yamcha, just as Gohan had done. I think this is the saga where he is finally given the gratitude he deserves, and all in all it's okay. It's just too bad that this is the last time Yamcha will be respected. And as I have already reiterated, it is unfortunate that few people have noticed this. We will see a little something in the Buu Arc, but it certainly won't be enough.
Tumblr media
I want to conclude this analysis with a simple reflection. I hope everyone is aware that the main theme of the Androids and Cell saga is hope. Hope is what drove Mirai Trunks to the past, and as I have already said, hope is the only thing that remains in his future.
If we focus on this word, doesn't it seem to you that Yamcha is the total reincarnation of this feeling? Think about it. He is the only one who has never stopped hoping. He has hoped for Goku and because of his trust he has reassured Chichi as well; he has hoped for Gohan, for Tien, for Kuririn and finally for other characters that we will analyze in the last chapter.
In short, Yamcha is the bearer of hope in the present. He is the one who kept it alive so that the world would not fall apart as it did in the future. Yamcha is hope itself. So... If hope is absolutely indispensable in Trunks' horrendous future, why shouldn't we think Yamcha is indispensable for Dragon Ball?
Well, thank you for getting here.
See you for the last chapter: The Future.

The Path of the Zhēnxīn by Slyreader
This fic has so much love and effort put into it. It feels so much like OG Dragonball while also doing its own thing as well. And while obviously it's a what if, I can't help but long for this story as the end of OG DB. I guess I just wish I had more Goku and ChiChi having adventures lol. I love how the author takes their canon selves and delves deeper, not leaning towards the stereotypes the fandom puts them in. The way they do them is justice is just, thank you 😭💖. Istg words cannot describe how much I love this interpretation of them. (took a scene from chapter 16 b/c the scenery must have been so beautiful)

CHICHI IS INSANE
I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT VIDEL SAYS THAT ??!! She doesn't say anything that explicit in regular DBZ (This is Kai). Even in the subbed version of Kai she doesn't say that.
Interesting verb of choice. There are many ways to communicate what she did, but using the verb "jump" as a transitive verb is honestly one of the nicest ways to put it, obviously it's vulgar but you don't rope in other expletives to make it so, and it's a nice and common verb in its regular usage.
To be honest the only noteworthy (perhaps just the only?) time that I've heard it used that way was in Smokey And The Bandit (1977). Videl has definitely seen that movie and she definitely has thoughts on it. Her father definitely has it on DVD and then also Blue-ray
Chichi changes her tune as soon as she finds out that Videl has money. VERY TYPICAL CHICHI BEHAVIOR.
Gohan is sitting there trying to eat very politely because they have company and he wants to look normal. He does not do anything about the drama of his mother because she is the matriarch and he cannot tell her to mind her manners in any way shape or form or else he'll get the spoon
Gohan Spits Rice All Over Goten's Face and Goten barely even blinks about it. Doesn't even wipe his face. Completely unperturbed. The most he does is that he arrests all activity while it's happening but then as soon as it's over he jumps in with what he's excited to say, much more concerned with the emotional impact of what he's heard rather than the physical impact of what just happened to him.
ALREADY-WROTE-THE-POST EDIT: I raised the audio and exported the video again and I just noticed THE COUGH AND GIGGLE. This is arguably worse. He's not even startled enough to momentarily freeze. He spits and laughs through it. There is nothing that can unsettle this kid
We've repeatedly seen in Goten both an innate sense of justice and a healthy aggression in regards to defending that (off the top of my head: when he demanded that Gohan stop making fun of him that he couldn't fly, when he gets mad at Trunks for breaking the rules during their tournament battle, when he YELLS AT VEGETA when Vegeta knocks Trunks out), but this rice thing is fine. It doesn't at all register as a breach of his boundaries. Sensory wise he is totally okay with it. There was a scene earlier on where he was laughing while a dinosaur licks his face. He's totally cool with this sort of stuff
Honestly he probably gets it, he's done it before. I'm sure that there have been times where he was eating too fast (every time) and then he slips up and starts choking and he has to slam his hand on the table like a grown man and turn to the side and hack onto the floor. And then maybe he offers an "excuse me" to be polite if his mother gives him a chastising look, but otherwise he just goes right back to wolfing shit down. So honestly Gohan spitting rice all over and across the table is nothing new at all. Like Goten has definitely done that.
Again he doesn't even wipe his face before talking. Doesn't even put his bowl down or anything

What duty or position does Mr. Nakadai hold ?
Mr Nakadai is essentially a Military Leader and Strategist.
Formerly a very successful businessman, he's a guy who deeply respects his Japanese tradition and history, and, while somewhat distant, deeply loves his family. Nakadai Hibiki was a man who built his life from the ground up, self-made, determined, and incredibly disciplined.
He also collected and trained with swords as a hobby.
So this man, who had everything ripped away from him except ChiChi and DingDong, the two Scottish Folds remade into metallic felines. The one source of hope was that the fate of his only child remained unknown. Finding Miko was his only goal, and now that he has, Hibiki wants justice for her death.
This is a man who knows how to organize people, who knows how to read people, and, yes, knows how to use a katana.
There are other survivors, people with proper military or government experience but not many of them are willing to leave Earth and galavant around space for an unknown period of time. Hibiki is.
So while June remains home and begins rising as a uniforming leader and advisor, Hibiki assembles and maintains teams that go out and search for the Lost while performing his own searches.
Which means he's one of the first leaders Cybertronians make contact with.

CHICHI of Stray Kids - MEMBER BRANDING digital album showcase in Kawasaki (Japan)
Tumblr media
⭛ 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞
Tumblr media
⭛ 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐢 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐛𝐮𝐦
"This is an album created with great love and care over several months. It may seem quite bleak, but I think that's how life is - it seems grim and cruel to us, although it really takes a lot of strength to see it and talk about it. This is the first step to change and self-realization. This album is driven by many ideas, from self-doubt to self-acceptance and self-improvement - "I'm beautiful like all of us. I don't care about your opinion anymore. I have a love to hold on to." Member Branding is my journey."
⭛ 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝟏: 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐨𝐧
Tumblr media
☆ intro: black flower (when black petals are dead and so am I)
The black petals are dead... Why are you crying? Who is next?
Chichi sits on a white high stool decorated with flowers. Dancers dressed in black lie around her throughout the performance, pretending to be dead.
☆ bijin
If I disappear this way and they end up loving me for it... I would gladly die right now, beautifully.
Chichi performs with five female dancers, using a headset due to the complicated hand choreography.
☆ urusai
Shut the fuck up if you don’t know me. I don’t care, shut up.
Chichi performs with two male dancers, using a traditional microphone.
☆ arson
Fame came first. Money? Of course. Popularity too. Couldn’t help but go into overdrive. The motivation behind my thoughtless ambition...
Chichi performs solo, using a traditional microphone. Behind her, a moving image of a burning city is projected on the screens.
☆ god (feat. mingi)
We walk straight ahead, everyone get out of the way. You gonna believe me after I prove it?
Mingi is present during the performance. They both use a traditional microphone. There is no choreography, but it is a lot of fun.
☆ just breathe feat. changbin only
Not someone else, just be yourself. On the other side of the mirror must not be an enemy.
From 3RACHA, only Changbin came to Japan and took over the lines of the other members. They sing together, while in the background two dancers dressed in white present a kind of spectacle - about hatred, departures and returns, and final acceptance.
☆ doodle by changbin
Changbin performs the song solo, with four male dancers. Chichi has time to change clothes.
⭛ 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝟐: 𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐤𝐲
Tumblr media
☆ love talk feat. hyunjin
Baby, we're two distant strangers. I know you don't speak my language, but I love the way you're talking to me.
Hyunjin is present in Japan. They both sit on white raised stools, back to back, using traditional microphones. They don't look at each other even once which only reinforces the "untold" vibe - they confess their feelings, but not to each other.
☆ dans l'obscurité
As I, the watcher of history, have seen all from start to end. I wrote all of it down until the sky was covered by darkness.
Chichi performs solo with ballet choreography, using a headset.
☆ discord
I have no reason to be afraid of discord. Even if I’m hated I have my own sense of justice. Hit me if you want, giving in would mean death. If you want to control me you have to defeat me first!
Chichi performs with 10 female dancers dressed as cult members. Together they tell the story of how Chichi defeats them in a seemingly uneasy fight. The dancers try to pull her down, but Chichi, realizing the meaning of her life, defies them and runs away towards better future.
☆ love untold by hyunjin
Hyunjin performs solo, walking around the stage with a traditional microphone in a white setting. Chichi has time to change clothes.
⭛ 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝟑: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮

☆ special song: dream of princess
Princess's sweet deep memory - if I could grant one wish, it would be you.
A song written and composed by Changbin for Chichi. Nothing is known about any release date or official appearance of the song on streaming platforms. Chichi introduced it as "the most precious gift an artist can give another person - himself in the form of art."
Chichi, using her ballet choreography and an excellent play of lights, tells the story of a princess in love.
⭛ 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬
Chichi, in accordance with the unwritten Japanese tradition, also received gift bouquets on stands, with congratulations on the release of the album and with birthday wishes!
List of friends who decided to offer flowers:

Wrong Timeline Trunks!
Tumblr media
For some reason I managed to draw this entire mini comic at midnight oop. Rip my sleep bc I work tmr. Anyways. This is my Future!Chichi AU with a dash of my dead!Chichi AU.🤭 Trunks didn’t set the coordinates right and landed them in the wrong timeline. They still decide to stop by to restock supplies and Chichi goes out to hydrate. I have a whole fic for this (the future timeline with chichi and trunks and mai) and it even has a dash of GokuBlack! POV.(ref back to my past arts about Goku Black and Chichi.). This is also a reference to my previous art of Chichi dying of the heart virus instead of Goku, so it’s basically a world without Chichi or Goten.
Goku and Chichi panic at seeing each other overall bc they think they are imagining things, Chichi has trauma from Goku Black and Goku fully accepted her death and that he’d never see her again but this interaction really throws them in for a loop. Poor baby Gohan is trying to understand what’s going on and Trunks arrives a second too late and now they have to explain themselves oop.
Man I rly gotta finish writing this fic lmao🗿💀👩🏽‍🦯✍🏽

I can't recall if you've talked about him extensively before, but what are your thoughts/opinions on Future Gohan? Are there any aspects of him that you prefer over the present Gohan?
HmmMMMm, no, I haven't talked extensively about Future Gohan before! I have drawn him before though; here's a lil' collection of some of the Future Gohan art I've done so maybe you have a bit of an understanding of how I tend to characterize him:
A comic about how Future Gohan starts talking like he's already dead in DBZ Kakarot after losing his arm
A short piece wondering why Future Gohan chose "Han" as the symbol for his gi
Future Gohan talking about his dream of being a scholar
Future Gohan being a tutor for Future Trunks
Future Gohan teasing Future Trunks about studying
Some Future Gohan headcanons (writing only)
A comic about Future Trunks dying to Imperfect Cell and seeing Future Gohan in the afterlife
Most recent comic which was an Adventure Time reference about Gohan dying against the androids
Anyhoo...
Oh man, had you asked me for my opinion on Future Gohan (or really any character) a few years ago, I probably could have written you an essay. But as I get older I start to have more nuanced feelings about the characters that are difficult to put into words, which is why I primarily draw art now (and not write fanfic, like I used to a few years ago).
I think my summary of the way I see Future Gohan is that I see him as a very little kid still. Like a version of Gohan that grew up physically, but not mentally. Mentally he's still back at the fight with the androids. He didn't get that development that our Gohan does, especially with Goku in the HTC. He didn't get to build confidence in himself, he didn't get to play around a lot or focus on studying like in those 7 years or have to mature to be a big brother to Goten, or anything like that. He just trained himself to death, but without the help of all of his mentors how much could he really have improved, mentally and physically? I see him as still being very scared on the inside, and feeling very, very guilty.
But he also is a generally hopeful, cheery person. Plus, he has Trunks to train, so he had to fall into that mentor figure eventually. So I see him being kind, making the best of small moments, being gentle and appreciating the little things in life. That's sort of how he's always been. Our Gohan maintains that too, the gentleness.
I dabble in drawings about the future timeline when I either want a lil' angst, with a dash of hopelessness (because the future timeline can seem pretty hopeless at times, and is very sad!) or when I want one of those contrast moments, like "a small bit of joy in a very sad time" kind of things. But otherwise I just prefer exploring our Gohan because...well, I guess seeing him build that confidence, develop that sense of justice, and really grow into himself is really nice! And there's a lot more to work with, and a lot of characters for him to interact with (instead of just Trunks, Bulma, Chichi in the future timeline). Just a lot more to think about. Plus, our Gohan's got that Cell Saga phase and it's no secret that that's my favourite Gohan to play around with.
Is there something about him I PREFER to our Gohan? Hmm...I don't know if I'd use the word "prefer", but something interesting he has that I don't think present Gohan does is that he seems like he's a very secretive person and hides his emotions from everyone else. Like a very wounded version of Gohan. I think it's really sad to explore, and really interesting.
I think I'm kind of rambling but I hope these thoughts gave you some insight into what I think of Future Gohan!

How would you feel if Toriyama made Yamcha a fighter again and was actually stronger this time? I'll always be thinking how when he smacked Beerus in the back he made a face. What if he wasn't taken just by surprise that he did it but by the power behind it?
Like what if Toriyama did Yamcha dirty and decided he's not strong unless he does not want to fight?
Good question. Yamcha is still a fighter, for me. He never really gave up, even though what DBS showed us seems to say otherwise. I can't accept the fact that he threw in the towel, that was never like him. Yamcha always shows to us, in his own way, that he still has a passion for martial arts. Get it? Martial arts. That thing that long ago in Dragon Ball was the leitmotif of the whole story.
Tumblr media
However, I don't think Yamcha has really stopped believing in his potential. It is virtually impossible to do so after reaching such a power level that makes him literally one of the strongest human beings in the world. Plus if we consider the fact that, between him, Tien and Kuririn, Yamcha's features are the most "normal" (he's got a nose and only two eyes) we can also safely say that Yamcha is the strongest human being in the world.
Okay, this is a bit of nonsense that I sometimes like to bring up.... But think about it, it might as well be so if we have to be really precise.
Tumblr media
«JUST LOOK HOW SERIOUS HUMAN MY FACE IS!»
So, I would just be happy if his warrior attitude, that was never really buried, was put on display again. Even a little sentence, a hint, a tiny scene where he is seen fighting or training with one of his friends... That would be enough for me.
Tumblr media
Yeah, something like that... Dragon Buddies.
For example, I am so glad that he made his return in Moro Arc as a Z-Fighter; I would like to see the animated version of his moment. Unfortunately, I think this is not the beginning of his rebirth. I have always thought that Yamcha's only enemy is Yamcha himself, and partly so, but the truth is that the real villain of his story is Akira Toriyama himself. It pains me to admit it, but it is so. I can't understand why he is pandering so much to the idiocy of the DB fandom making fun of Yamcha.
Tumblr media
Yamcha laughing at memes about Yamcha knowing that he could destroy everyone with one finger.
The hell, even in Majin Buu Arc he was amazing. All right, I know, they're fillers, but you want me to be honest? The fillers took better care of him than the canon episodes and the manga. I mean, at the beginning he was presented to us as a 40-year-old man who had now given up martial arts for good, wearing a banana yellow suit, expensive and sadly unsuitable for battles. He just doesn't seem to want to hear about it. But then, after several episodes of him goofing off or being a fanboy in the stands, like everyone else Yamcha dies, and it is in the afterlife that his will to fight is reawakened after so long. As it was with King Kai before. For those who have followed him from the beginning of Dragon Ball, to be able to see Yamcha again happy, excited and strong, with his uniform on like the old days, is a joy to behold.
Relative joy.
Tumblr media
Guys, I can't accept the fact that Yamcha has to be dead to feel even more alive, or even worse that his existence depends only on fillers. Yes, I know, it's still better than nothing, though...
Another good job was also done by the OVA Dragon Ball: The Return of Son Goku and Friends!, probably the last work that remembers that Yamcha also exists and especially treats him as a very valuable fighter. I'll talk about it.
Tumblr media
This moment is still one of my favorite. It is one of the most badass things about Yamcha, plus it reminds me so much of a scene where Tarzan does the same...
Tumblr media
Look! On one side we have the ape man (no, not a saiyan), on the other side the wolf man... Damn, I love it! Well, maybe I'm digressing, but it is curious to notice how the act of undressing is cathartic for both characters. They both strip off a garment that does not really belong to them and wildly bring out their true nature, their animal instincts, but most of all their desire to protect those they love. That's Yamcha. After all, who says Yamcha has to save the world to redeem himself as a character? He can also do so by protecting someone. That is something he can do very well, and I will prove it to you. Anyway, I sincerely hope that his role in the world of Dragon Ball will also be recognized in DBS. I also hope he can use again even his sword, but unfortunately he became a meme and, apart from the Moro Arc, we only saw him slaughtered and humiliated even by his own friends. This is the saddest thing that could have happened, also because in OG Dragon Ball it would NEVER have happened. There is no more demeaning thing than seeing Goku completely ignore one of his close friends, one of the first, and treat him as if he were worth less than zero. Seriously... WTF?! The Goku I love would never have done that.
Tumblr media
Alright, that's the real Goku! Thank you!
I mean, maybe Goku wouldn't have invited him to the Tournament anyway, but at least he would have stopped in front of him to say a few comfortably words. As he once did.
Tumblr media
Because, you know, that's what you do with friends and those who have been there for you in the good and in the worst of times. Let us remember that Yamcha took care of Goku together with Chichi when the virus struck him in the heart...
Well, I try hard to think that this is all a joke, though I doubt it. I strive to think that the whole attitude that the characters have had in DBS toward Yamcha is just the result of a studied plan to piss him off and spur him to undress again and howl like he used to. But... I know it's not.
Therefore, even though Moro Arc slightly brought our Z warrior back to the forefront and confirmed that Yamcha is still very strong, I still do not consider myself satisfied. What I would like more than anything else is just a confrontation between him and the protagonist, Goku, in which the saiyan helps him believe in himself again. And if it is not Goku, someone else is fine as long as Yamcha is reconsidered with dignity.
I don't think I'm asking for that much. Goku has helped so many people, dinosaurs, mice, monkeys, strangers he has met only once in his life, even bad guys... So why not help the first character who consciously believed in his abilities?
Tumblr media
...Guess I have started a new topic. I will definitely talk about the relationship between Yamcha and Goku as soon as I can. Being the main character, a positive assessment of Yamcha by Goku could change the current idea of this character and make him much stronger as a result. I mean, Goku is the Mr. Satan of the real world. What he says is the truth, so it is only up to him to make sure that Yamcha can come back stronger than before.
Thanks for asking! 💕

im gonna roughly liveblog my thoughts on The Owl House i think because i don't want to watch the whole show and forget it!!!
ep1 - A Lying Witch and a Warden I liked it! Intriguing sense of world building and scale. I like Eda. I had a few moments of "why the FUCK does she sound so familiar" and it's bc she's Chichi from The Emperor's New Groove. I loved the 180 on King's crown, that was very cute. I also like Luz' attitude, even if she feels very Main Character. I really like the dynamic between all the characters.
ep2 - Witches before Wizards Cute! I love how Eda stuck up for Luz even though she technically doesn't like her (or acts like it). If I was in Luz' shoes I absolutely would not have fallen for that. ... ..... ....... unless I was between the ages of 5-17. Then I absolutely would have.
ep 3 - I Was A Teenage Abomination I really liked this one. I love Luz's dynamics with willow. I really understand Willow's attempts to force herself into a school of magic she doesn't jive with. (speaking as someone who went to uni for robotics... when i was always an artist :P) I like Amity as well. I already know about .. Amiluz? Lamity? But it's great to see how they started. Also lol at Luz getting banned from school.
ep 4 - The Intruder Ooo, classic stay-at-home episode. This one was fun and surprisingly thrilling. The animation of the intruder lurching around the corner after King was so good, the whole chase scene was very animated. I definitely called that it was Eda. I wonder how she got that way. I wonder who the person in her dream is. It was also so cute to see how Luz deals with magic and how she found her own way. I wonder how she's going to learn more spells if she needs to know the symbol that witches seem to instinctively know.
ep 5 - Covention This one was interesting. Why would you want to join a coven only to seal away all other forms of your magic? Given that, I totally understand the appeal of the Emperor's Coven. I also loved the reveal of Lilith. I think she may be the one who cursed Eda. I also wonder why the Emperor's Coven wants Eda specifically. It must be separate from her curse. Current theory is Lilith cursed Eda bc Eda was more powerful than her. I also really liked the interactions with Luz and Amity. Boy howdy, as an immigrant do I ever understand how hard fitting in is in a new community when you don't know the social structures or even any of the social norms.
ep 6 - Hooty's Moving Hassle Very cute. Standard rebel plot. I love that they accidentally animated the whole house. Makes me wonder if Willow is actually much, MUCH stronger than most other witches or whether Luz has some innate incredibly powerful magic. I don't think it's Gus but specifically I don't think he's the type of character who has a slumbering power type of deal. Also, love the episode title. I like Eda's side-plot as well. I respect forgetting to refill your meds till the absolute last second.
ep 7 - Lost in Language Okay i REALLY liked this one. My favorite so far. I love the dynamic between Amity's siblings and Luz. I also really like that Luz has this strong sense of justice (even if she's easily won over, like in ep 6). I love the little laugh Amity had toward the end. And I also really like the fact that Amity feels like a rounded character. I bet she very much plays up this snobby brat when she's at school bc she's the Emp Coven's protege.
ep 8 - Once Upon A Swap This one was also fun. Felt like a bit of a filler episode but seeing Luz deal with having basically unlimited magical power was fun.
ep 9 - Something Ventured Someone Framed I liked this one as well. Further cements my idea that Gus isn't some sleeper agent type character. I did like the 'human appreciation' thing, and the rivalry between Gus and the new kid. Didn't really like the faux apology but it does very much track. I'm also so proud of Eda for getting over her anger at the school and The Man so that she worked really hard to get Luz accepted into the school. Can't wait to see what Luz can learn there.

Dragon Ball Z: Abridged Episode 31 Review
Originally posted December 15th, 2015
Reflection and humble beginnings.
Tumblr media
Last season, Team Four Star began with intensity and focus on the story they were going to tell. As Bulma blasted off towards Namek, there was a sense of determination she shared with her creators; while she was determined to gather the Dragonballs and bring her friends back to life, Team Four Star was determined to retell the Freeza saga with the appropriate weight such a story deserved.
They were burdened with a great task of satisfying the expectations of their fans, most of whom had already seen the original Freeza Saga and held it in high regard, and they let their viewers know that they were going to take that task seriously. Now, however, the Freeza saga is over, and it was pretty clearly a success. Imperfections aside, Team Four Star did an excellent job retelling this story, and that fact is something I’m sure they are keenly aware of.
It’s fitting then, that they choose to begin season three not with determination, but with reflection. While they tease at an ominous story to come with Garlic Jr., by the end of the episode they show that to be a red herring; the important story here is a simple but personal tale following Krillin and his new girlfriend, Maron.
Now, Krillin is not my favorite character in this series,1 but he is my fourth favorite character because, despite being constantly overwhelmed and afraid, he still persists and does his best to fight alongside people who are essentially gods. He’s also the most human character in this series, which is made incredibly clear in this episode as he struggles with whether or not Maron loves him because of who he is, or because of the money he obtained through insurance fraud.
This question keeps him up late into the night, and after having the most emotionally honest conversation of the series with a turtle, he decides that he’s going to tell Maron everything and see if she still loves him anyway. She never loved him at all, it turns out; she was investigating him for insurance fraud the entire time. Finding this out is heartbreaking, to be sure, but it’s also hilarious, and since Krillin’s wealth was obtained illegally, it feels like karmic justice as well.
The rest of the episode is also filled with small snippets of domesticity for the characters. Everyone attends a birthday party for Turtle, a talking turtle that everyone seems to care about and love for no apparent reason besides the fact that he seems pretty nice. Gohan and Chichi pound the tuna, in an attempt to take the place of Goku, and Piccolo chills on a mountaintop with Nail and Kami, talking about nothing particularly important. This is all incredibly refreshing, giving us a break from the intensity we just went through in the Freeza saga while still delivering a funny and entertaining episode.
Rating: 5/5

Stray Observations
1My top three characters from Dragonball Z: Abridged are as follows: Piccolo, Gohan, and Vegeta in that order. Piccolo’s slightly too serious demeanor (which makes him feel perfectly out of place) and devotion to being Gohan’s father puts him at the top, Gohan’s bookishness combined with a will to fight (and anger/father issues) makes him second, and Vegeta’s superiority complex, devil-may-care attitude and excellent insults make him third.
Oh, Kanye, you always let us know when bitches be gold diggin’. (And then “American Woman” reminding us of that later.)
Kami: “Last time Mr. Popo had a booty call I found five corpses. He laughed when I said five.”
Bulma: “No one screws Yamcha but life.”
Krillin Owned: 29, because Maron isn’t just a gold digger, she’s a federal agent.
Maron: “I said I worked for the government, I never said I was a good person.”
Mr. Popo: “Oh don’t mind me Kami. I just had a bit of Italian for dinner.” Kami: “What does that-“ Mr. Popo: “’Cause it was nothing but Garlic!”

Dualities of Dragon Ball characters
PICCOLO
- Very stoic. Solid. Comprehensive. Even wise.
- Doesn't know shit about anyrhing. Always sweating. Always anxious
BULMA
- Very kind, very helpful. Considers herself as such. Ultimately selfless and does things for the common good
- So utterly vain. Will tear into you without remorse or warrant
CHICHI
- Commits herself dutifully to a mother's work; wants nothing more than to be a loyal wife. Does noble work out of love.
- Picked a husband who does NOT give her what she wants, is utterly insane, yells at everyone
GOHAN
- Wants to do good by everyone, has gone through hell and is stronger for it, genuinely learned, genuinely intelligent, genuinely wise
- Just completely batshit. Dissociative. Too goofy for his own good.
VIDEL
- Kind, womanly, and doesnt shy away from those things. Wears pretty clothes. Considerate and compassionate. Enjoys helping people. Shies away from yucky things; even condemns them.
- A complete hardass. Mercilessly hunts truth and justice. I strongly perceive her as someone who drinks raw the blood of life but I have no proof for that. I think that she enjoys the darkness and madness and sticking her hands in people's wicked guts. My proof is that she married Gohan
GOTEN
- Well-mannered, polite, respectful. Considerate and earnest. On his way to being emotionally intelligent, well-rounded, and insightful.
- Complerely fucking hard-headed. Ruining people's lives with his crazy antics without realizing it. Daft as fuck. Rude to his elders (Mr Satan)
The next two domt count becasue theye change over time rather than two things being true at once.
VEGETA
- came from a viscous and vulgur background
- Grows into his noble nature, is overall neat and tidy and self-respecting, calls others "vulgar"
TRUNKS
- Starts out arrogant and with a superiority complex
- Under that was a friendly and spontaneous child who was just trying his best at being perceptive, grows up to be easy-going and chill and just wanting to hang out and have fun.

I love Dragonball as an anime and manga because Toriyama and Toyorato are dope as writers and drawers. However, there is something Dragonball is the worst at, and it's how they make use of female characters. Bulma married Vegeta and has always been searching for a boyfriend, so there is that. Chichi kind of the same thing except that she was a fighter, but that did not really stick around either.
Marron, a Don Juan but woman. There is nothing else to say about her.
Android 18 did not exactly have to become the girlfriend and wife of Krillin later on, but that had to happen, I suppose. But, what is a shame about her is that she also stopped fighting and likely never trained either. She did not suffer the consequences of not training because she is an android.
Then we have Videl which was the one character with the most potential to actually do something. Hell, I can say that if it was not for the thing that happened during the tournament in the Majin arc. She would have been able to surpass android 18 in skills and power. Worth mentioning that she was already stronger than Krillin after her training with Gohan.
I would have genuinely understood if she had stopped fighting and training because of what happened, but this is not even the case. After eating a senzu beans and definitely showing how strong her mental is, she was perfectly fine mentally after being almost killed by that nameless guy. I'm calling him nameless because I don't remember his name.
Oh, and also, Hercule is the strongest human who does not use ki. So, believe it or not, Videl has a lot of potential as a fighter even if her father was written into a complete joke. The girl was said to be stronger than him back then, which she was, she was even stronger than the strongest human with ki known as Krillin.
If she was not written as a housewife like the others, she could have actually made it in the tournament of power instead of someone like Tenshinhan, for an example. Because I can confidently say she would have been stronger than 18 in the tournament arc.
This misuse of female characters is why I really don't want to see Caulifla and Kale again in the manga and on screen. Toriyama doesn't know how to write women. He makes them with a lot of potential, but he does not do them the justice they deserve.
