a favorite snippet of dialogue
It’s to be expected but this is definitely my favorite moment of dialogue I’ve written:
“I’m sorry,” Grian muttered. His hands balled into fists, nails biting into flesh. The sting kept the tears burning in his eyes from rolling down his cheeks. “I’m so sorry.”
Scar met his gaze. His eyes were cold, a stark difference to the sweltering heat of the desert.
“Do you remember her name?”
“What?”
“Her name,” Scar repeated. “My horse’s name. Or, well, I guess she was yours first.”
“Don’t you remember?” Grian began, desperately trying to get Scar to forget his questions. If Scar could do it so easily, why couldn’t he? “The night after I hit yellow, I told you—”
“I know what you said.” Scar’s voice was harsher, now. He was angry, and anger was what brought about betrayals. “What was her name, Grian?”
“Pepperoni.”
“No.”
“Sausage.”
“Not even close.”
I cut out a lot of the descriptions but the dialogue and the tension of this scene is one of my favorites!
a characterization detail that most people don’t notice
So I have two things because I’m Not Normal about Grian. His wings are always gray in my fics to show the hopelessness of the life series. How they will always lose everything they gain. How Grian will always have to kill scar. In any other world, his wings are colorful and taken care of. In this one, he lets them get damaged and filled with sand. After all, it’s not like he’s going to fly with them.
The other thing is that in my fics Grian never hurts Scar. He may want to, but he can never actually get himself to do it.
idea for a fic I haven’t written yet
I have a fic idea titled The Holy Land (Takes No Prisoners) where scars crystals actually work and after everyone keeps dropping them on the ground outside his house it forms a circle around his house and makes it so anyone inside cannot leave. Scar, Grian, and Joel are all trapped inside his house and have to deal with their issues.

2, 8, 19, 29?
2. a lightsaber humming. Just humming, not being drawn or clashing against something, just the nice soothing hum
8. Time travel. Like, what would happen if I ended up in the past, specifically medieval times. I would probably kill everyone with the diseases I carry with me, but assuming that didn't happen, I'd be casually assuming a position in the royal court and be beloved by the people because I know more about medicine despite not being a doctor or pharmacist than they would, and I just genuinely. Like being nice to people. Anyway! I think I got sidetracked. Undiagnosed ADHD, anyone?
19. Honestly, I can't think of anything major, I mean sure there were the little white lies that everyone tells, but most of the crap I pulled got found out because I may have been smart but I sure wasn't clever. Or good at lying. The only thing that comes to mind is poking through my parents' dresser and finding a really cool hunting knife. I never did anything with it, but I don't think they ever knew that I knew about it.
29. Dude, most of the tutorials I look up are, like, how to do something tech-related, or how to do something redstone-related. The latter cause that stuff's confusing, and the former because I'm hopeless with electronics. I can tell you the weirdest thing I've googled, which is either were thumbdrives a thing in 2004, or what kind of cell phone was considered top-of-the-line in 2004? Really tame, I know, but I was--am--writing a fic that begins in 2004 and spans all the way to present day.

I started watching mid way through S6 (started from ep 1 while it was episodes in the 50s or 60s), so it will have been roughly late 2018, early 2019

Currenly Season 7. The Button and the Mayoral campaign and Turf War really cememted this for me. There's time for that to change though :)
