you couldn't put the Dunmeshi party in The Thing because they would straight up eat it. there is no way for it to win against Laios' special interest, and though he's bad with people, he would sniff it out immediately. Marcille would protest more than ever about eating it, even thought she'd be the one to kill it with her fire spell. Chilchuck heard saying: "This is somehow more fucked up than the merfolk eggs..." Senshi would grill it to perfection so that it was well dead and digestible. Izutsumi.
