legends all, but this is a painting by joe eula (legendary illustrator and halston creative director) of four monkeys in a country house which apparently represents the artist, bobby short (upper east side cabaret legend), elsa peretti (legendary jewelry designer and halston muse), mrs glenn bernbaum (wait what? glenn bernbaum, the legendarily mean insecure racist anti-semitic snob who ran the legendary mortimer's restaurant was gay, jewish, and not married)

DIANA ROSS CONCERT & MOVIE POSTERS (1965-2013) - SOUL MUSIC CONCERT POSTERS (Part 4/10)
Lady DIANA ROSS can too easily be overlooked in the Soul Music genre as Too Pop, too thinned voice...yet The Supremes under her leadership was the most successful female Group of all times (not even comparing with Destiny’s Child) with too many Pope and Soul Hits. Still Her solo albums between 1970 and 1979 are all amazing pieces of Soul Music, stylish, lush, allowing her to express so much emotion. A favorite of mine.
Above is a selection of several vintage concert and movie posters (click on each image for details).

I’ve seen some folks concerned about the Minecraft EULA changes, but don’t worry.
I shouldn’t have to adjust much except my video intros to add a disclaimer and outros to read the patreon thanks message over non-minecraft footage.
I already have my next episode recorded, so I will have to edit around those problems, which isn’t too big a deal.
After that, my new episode intro will be:
“Howdy, y’all! Joe Hills here, with NOT AN OFFICIAL MINECRAFT greeting from Nashville, Tennessee. In today’s episode, we are NOT APPROVED BY OR ASSOCIATED WITH MOJANG OR MICROSOFT.”

In the 2019 documentary film Halston, filmmaker Frédéric Tcheng questions Halston’s former illustrator and confidant Joe Eula about the nature of the fashion designer’s relationship with his lover, Victor Hugo. Tcheng asks, “Why did Halston put up with Victor?” to which Eula replies, “Because he was in love with him.” Tcheng then presses further, asking: “When did it fall apart?” and Eula, without skipping a beat, retorts, “The day they met.”   Victor Hugo was born Victor Rojas in Caracas, Venezuela during a coup d'état that took place on November 24th, 1948, when Carlos Delgado Chalbaud, Marcos Pérez Jiménez and Luis Felipe Llovera Páez overthrew the elected president, Rómulo Gallegos. Not much else is documented surrounding Rojas’ early life in Venezuela, but sometime in the early 1970s, he and his mother emigrated to the United States, landing in New York City.

An alien beauty by Issey Miyake (1938–2022), flower heads, 2012.
Born in Hiroshima in 1938, Miyake was witness to era-defining events, including the atomic bomb of 1945, a horror of which he rarely spoke but which led to his mother’s death. During a later period in Paris, he attended the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne and apprenticed at Guy Laroche and Givenchy.
He found himself among the tumult of the May 1968 student protests, prompting a desire to create clothing as easy and accessible as jeans and t-shirts. In New York, he worked for Geoffrey Beene and met Christo, Joe Eula, Donna Jordan and Robert Rauschenberg, before returning to Japan in 1970. Where he found restriction, he challenged it.
In 1960, while Miyake was a graphic design student, the World Design Conference came to Japan for the first time. The event brought together the most significant names in design – but nothing on fashion. Miyake was outraged and confronted the organiser. From the start, he turned his attention to clothing and was its greatest advocate. Miyake had the time traveller’s power to change the present.
He brought French couture to Japan via Diana Vreeland’s 1975 exhibition ‘Inventive Clothes: 1909–1939’, as well as the work of British potter Lucie Rie. In 1976, he cast Grace Jones in his fashion show ‘Issey Miyake and Twelve Black Girls’. He was the first of the influential Japanese designers to show his collections in Paris, and in a 1988 piece in Artforum, Mark Holborn described how Miyake’s book East Meets West (1978) ‘undermined our own Eurocentered perspective’.
