I’ve seen some folks concerned about the Minecraft EULA changes, but don’t worry.
I shouldn’t have to adjust much except my video intros to add a disclaimer and outros to read the patreon thanks message over non-minecraft footage.
I already have my next episode recorded, so I will have to edit around those problems, which isn’t too big a deal.
After that, my new episode intro will be:
“Howdy, y’all! Joe Hills here, with NOT AN OFFICIAL MINECRAFT greeting from Nashville, Tennessee. In today’s episode, we are NOT APPROVED BY OR ASSOCIATED WITH MOJANG OR MICROSOFT.”

I don’t want to complain.
I really don’t.
But Mojang/Microsoft’s new EULA changes are a bit… y’know, disconcerting.
If I want to find a Minecraft video, then I’m either going to look for it in the thumbnail or the title. I’m not going to click and find it in the description.
Parts of the new EULA are saying that putting Minecraft at the beginning of a video (with certain parameters) is no longer allowed.
“You may not use the Minecraft name as the primary or dominant name or title.”
Doing this can result in potential action taken from Mojang/Microsoft.
I don’t know about you, but that seems like a step in the wrong direction. Sure, it can help get certain results that nobody wants to look at off of the platform, but that creates a freedom of speech issue.
Now, parts of the EULA have been used before to take action against certain things. This is expected. But some of those parts have also been ignored. I don’t know if this is going to be a specific takedown of something small or a large-scale rule that everyone must watch out for.
Either way, I kind of feel that the Minecraft twitter, (Sorry, “X” account,) and other socials announcing the snapshot and paying no mind to the changes in the End User License Agreement was being a bit cowardly and secretive.
That’s not how you want to break news about a change to your audience. I feel personally like it violates the already rocky trust I have with the company since Microsoft took over, especially since it threatens things like 2b2t and other big servers and communities.
Just trying to get that out there. Sorry if you don’t agree.

Not me wondering why everyone is mad about the updated Minecraft Usage Guidelines (web archive link) since I'm not seeing HALF of the things being complained about on the updated Guidelines?
Like, the fluff are you on about with Server player queues being banned? I'm not seeing ANY HINT of that on the updated Guidelines???? o_0
(also can people stop mixing up Minecraft's EULA with Minecraft's Usage Guidelines please)

i am shocked people are more focused on mojang being "lazy" instead of focusing on the much more pressing (and as far as im aware unresolved) issue of the new minecraft EULA which is a lot more harmful than minecraft not adding two mobs that maybe do something
(for context, the new minecraft EULA basically said you cannot use the word minecraft for anything minecraft related except for very specific circumstances and that they can update the EULA without having to notify anyone)

How Do Minecraft Servers Setup Roles Minecraft, the immensely popular sandbox game, offers players a vast and immersive world to explore and create. While the base game itself provides endless hours of entertainment, Minecraft mods take the experience to a whole new level. Mods, short for modifications, are custom-made content created by the Minecraft community that can add new features, mechanics, and aesthetics to the game. In this article, we'll delve into the world of Minecraft mods and guide you through the process of installing and using them to enhance your gameplay. What are Minecraft Mods? Minecraft mods are user-created modifications that alter and expand upon the original game's content. Mods can introduce new blocks, items, creatures, gameplay mechanics, dimensions, and more. They offer a unique way to customize your Minecraft experience and tailor it to your preferences. Mods can be created by individual developers or modding teams and are typically shared and distributed freely online. Why Install Mods? There are several compelling reasons to install mods in Minecraft: - Expanded Gameplay: Mods can introduce new gameplay mechanics and features that add depth and variety to your Minecraft experience. Whether it's magic systems, technology advancements, or additional challenges, mods offer a wealth of possibilities to keep your gameplay fresh and exciting. - Visual Enhancements: Many mods focus on improving the game's visuals by adding high-resolution textures, realistic shaders, improved lighting effects, and more. These visual enhancements can transform the blocky world of Minecraft into a stunning and immersive environment. - New Adventures: Mods often include new biomes, dimensions, and creatures to explore. These additions can provide unique and thrilling adventures, allowing you to discover uncharted territories and face formidable challenges. - Quality of Life Improvements: Some mods are designed to enhance the overall user experience by introducing features that streamline gameplay, improve inventory management, or offer convenient shortcuts. These quality-of-life mods can greatly enhance your enjoyment and efficiency while playing. Installing Minecraft Mods Installing mods in Minecraft may seem daunting at first, but with the right tools and guidance, it's a straightforward process. Here's a step-by-step guide to get you started: - Backup Your Minecraft Files: Before installing any mods, it's always wise to make a backup of your Minecraft game files. This ensures that you can revert to the original version if anything goes wrong during the modding process. - Install Minecraft Forge: Minecraft Forge is a popular modding platform that allows for easy mod installation and compatibility. Visit the Minecraft Forge website (https://files.minecraftforge.net/) and download the latest version of Forge that corresponds to your Minecraft version. - Locate the Minecraft Mods Folder: Open your Minecraft game directory and locate the "mods" folder. On Windows, the default directory is %appdata%/.minecraft; on macOS, it's located in the Library/Application Support folder. - Download Mods: Find a reliable source for Minecraft mods, such as reputable modding communities or official mod websites. Download the mods you want to install. Be sure to choose mods that are compatible with your Minecraft version and Forge. - Install Mods: Drag and drop the downloaded mod files into the "mods" folder. Ensure that the mods have the correct file extensions (usually ".jar" or ".zip"). Some mods may require additional steps or dependencies, so carefully read the mod's instructions or documentation. - Launch Minecraft: Start the Minecraft launcher and select the Forge profile from the drop-down menu. Click "Play" to launch the game with the installed mods. - Enjoy Your Mods: Once Minecraft loads, you should see the effects of the installed mods in your gameplay. Explore the new features, mechanics, and visual enhancements that the mods provide. Tips for Modding Here are some additional tips to enhance your modding experience: - Use a Mod Manager: Mod managers, such as the Twitch Launcher or MultiMC, can simplify the process of installing and managing mods. They provide a user-friendly interface and allow you to easily switch between different mod configurations. - Check Mod Compatibility: Ensure that the mods you download are compatible with each other and with your Minecraft version. Mods that are incompatible can cause crashes or conflicts that disrupt your gameplay. - Read Mod Descriptions and Instructions: Before installing a mod, thoroughly read its description, requirements, and installation instructions. Rant about Genshin Impact upcoming! Specifically, Diluc! Spoilers for Diluc lore if you dk!
So here’s the deal. I love Diluc. He’s been my main for a little over a year now. I’ve spent all of my resources into building him and making good support for him. Of course, my builds are all trash because Genshin was my first experience with a game other than the sims or minecraft, but still. I have a special place in my heart for him. But the more I learn about his character… ouch. The ragbro angst can easily make me cry, but Diluc was so cruel to Kaeya. His response to the situation was extreme to say the absolute least. I understand that he was hurt, and Kaeya was a liar, but the whole thing is still just way too much. Especially considering Diluc’s killing spree afterwards. This reveals a few things about him. Firstly, consider the type of relationship he must have had with his father for the grief to strike him this hard. And his relationship with Kaeya.
Considering the personalities of other pyro characters, I would say that Diluc has, for lack of a better term, big emotions. He feels things deeply. Consider Yoimiya, Lyney, Bennett… all of these characters (with pyro visions) have similar dispositions. Think of Yoimiya’s sense of responsibility for her family… Lyney and Bennett feel the same sort of attachment. It’s interesting to think about. Pyro characters all seem to hold relationships very dear, whereas cryo characters seem to work alone (Shenhe, Kaeya, Eula, Wriothesley, Diona). This might provide some insight about Diluc’s values and his hurt. He seems to hold family to a high standard… or at least, he did. Consider how much it must grieve someone to lose their family if they feel this way, this intensely. I forgot what my original point was… maybe I didn’t have one. I guess I’m saying that Diluc’s character is more than a grump who doesn’t like anyone.
