Megumi saying “I don’t care anymore” has done damage to me for an number of reasons. It hurts so much to see Megumi, so broken down, but I like that the obstacle they face isn’t strength, it’s the fact the someone they need to save, doesn’t want to be saved.

It all circles back to the fact you can only save those who want to be saved.

They can’t win this through fighting alone: they have to remind Megumi that his life is worth so much more. Gojo couldn’t convince Geto to stay, maybe Yuji can convince Megumi to come back.

there’s something really beautiful about how at this point Yuuji trying to save megumi would be a bit of a selfish act, since megumi doesn’t want to be saved, and how the only selfish act Yuuji ever does is born out of love and has the potential to be the way he finally saves someone. idk just like yuuji’s always been selfless to a detrimental fault, and I think the idea of him loving megumi enough to be selfish being what saves him could be neat

I cannot believe the day has come where Yuuji is about to fulfill his promise to him because Megumi gave up. Yuuji started out living to die a meaningful death but after he thought he had no right to live anymore, Megumi saved him and gave him the new goal of returning this favour. I don't know if Yuuji will make him snap out of it by returning those words to him (which I would love) because Sukuna destroyed Yuuji's will to live by possessing him and now Sukuna destroyed Megumi's will to live by doing the same to Megumi. The parallel would be amazing. (I'd also take it if Yuuji kissed him to wake him up but I guess I can't have it all.)
