Master Post Bridgerton Live Event Season 3
Let me just say so much of what they said leans into exactly how I pictured it.
○ Some words to describe the season: Shonda-"intimate" / Jess B-"confidence" / Luke Newts-"unexpected" / Nicola-"romantic" / Luke Thom-"zoom in"
○ They talk about Colin's words last season and say it was a good place to start in the story/journey; confirm apology will come
○ Pen has 1 main suitor besides Colin who takes a real interest in her (Spoiler: it's Lord Debling)
○ Julia Quinn said it is a good friends to lovers story. She sounded so excited!
○ Someone (either Shonda, Julia or Jess) said they have some good awkward banter.
○ Julia Quinn really confirmed the Colin-Pen hand scene (1st real emotional and physically intimate scene for them)
○ How Jess B talks about Colin (again) gives me hope for his personal journey-mentioned about the 3rd son "not knowing his place in the world" & more
○ Protective El of Colin confirmed (we get El and Colin scenes), but she still loves Pen; Luke N. called it a non-romantic love triangle between the 3
○ Benedict takes roles of Anthony; he can fall into different roles very well, but who is he and what does he want?
○ Will and Alice acquire a new title this season; Martins talked about how they are "drawn out of the shadows"
○ Adjoa talked about how Lord Ledger affected her; called that romance "life-changing"; QCABS enriched Lady Danbury story coming into season 3
○ Lady D. personal journey-she's "shook" at an arrival that happens 👀
○ Golda-How do you do private intimacy in the view of the public (George and QC)? / she loves the Brimsley relationship
○ When talking about QC picking the diamond of the season said she's bored of what's going on and is "searching for something different"
○ [Other tidbit-they're hosting a Bridgerton wedding for a lucky real-life couple.]
○ Shonda quote about Bridgerton always "finding a way to give female characters agency" and Pen has a good way of coming into this in this season
○ Nicola-"so much happens" in their story
○ They talked about how the show has changed their lives-Claudia said she always walks away proud of what she's done and essentially there's not one part of the job she's unsatisfied with. aww; Adjoa said "a space for everyone"
○ Season 3 is "for the wallflowers"- Adjoa [they mentioned this a lot; the interaction on this between Adjoa and Nicola just made it seem like there is Lady Danbury-Pen relationship]
○ Nic and Newts recreated the pic in the mirror with candle stick!! what?! / They also watch fan edits and send them to each other
○ Easter egg in almost every episode according to Jess B. and they are "raising the bar on visuals"- "even brighter and more spectacular than ever"
○ Superlatives: most like character-Luke Newton; least-Golda; most bloopers-Johnny Bailey or Claudia (and I think she was offended at first, lol)
○ Chaos in Featherington fam because Pen steps out (Portia doesn't like when Pen changes from her citrus dresses)
○ Nicola "didn't expect to be as emotional as it was" from the first 2 episode screening
○ Adjoa said things will make you laugh then quickly after cry
○ Claudia said people make mistakes and people fall..., etc.
○ Theme: "Find your light." -Jess B.
○ The line in QCABS "We are untold stories" is what this season is about

"I'm rooting for them," showrunner Jess Brownell tells EW. "Bridgerton is about love in its many forms, and that includes friendship. The breakup between two friends can be just as earth shattering as a romantic relationship. For Penn, it is extremely difficult. But it's also a chance for the two of them to grow and learn about themselves without that safety net of always having their best friend around."
And what of Penelope's determination to keep her gossip column going? "It's probably not Eloise's favorite thing," adds Brownell. "It's definitely a piece of the conflict between them — how that plays out, I will leave to be revealed."

we know that, eventually, they will make up so let eloise befriend cressida aka the only person that “showed eloise kindness when no one else would”.
and yes, eloise is angry, but she won’t reveal lw identity. she’s not a bad person and neither is cressida because, as jess brownell said “mean girls are not born, they’re made”. we know why pen has started publishing her scandal sheet, now let’s give cressida a chance.

[...] New showrunner Jess Brownell, who has taken the reins this season from creator Chris Van Dusen, says queer inclusion is a priority for her. [...] So who will these queer characters be? New introductions? A secretly gay Bridgerton? Time will tell, but Brownell isn’t. “How exactly that plays out over this season and the next couple seasons, I can't say specifically, but I will say I'm excited for fans to see that,” she teases.
If they don't actually make Eloise gay, then what is the point?

An article has a quote from Jess Brownell saying it was a last minute decision to make Polin S3, which directly contradicts Nicola in 2022 claiming they were told about 2 weeks into filming season2.
So who is lying? My gut tells me Nicola is, because there was an odd turn in the story that made the second half feel off, which means they made changes to the Pall Mall game or pretended to make the order mean something.
I have been saying for MONTHS now that there's NO WAY that narratively Nicola's schtick about 'S3 was planned from the beginning of S2' was true. But no one wanted to listen or believe me.
Benedict was originally planned and set up as the S3 lead and then Shonda & Jess decided to take that away from Luke Thompson at the last minute.
Nicola fucking lied to everyone, big surprise b/c she knew there'd be backlash on her if people found out her character took away a fan favorite's season at the last minute.
So she lied and pretended it was always the plan when it clearly wasn't.

So according to Jess Brownell there will also be a Demi Lovato song in the 2nd part of season 3 and she said she listened to it while writing a certain scene (which one we don't know yet). Now, I like solving mysteries. So I browsed through Spotify and listened to a lot of her songs and/or read the lyrics.
What if the song that's being used is "Lionheart"?
Since it could be that Colin and Penelope might have to "fight" some external "forces" (Queen Charlotte, Cressida or who knows who else) regarding the whole LW reveal/situation, the lyrics would be quite fitting to such a scenario and to Polin as a couple I think.
Another tiny detail about this song: there's the following line in the lyrics:
"...And we walk together into the light..."
And what's the title of episode 8? "Into the Light"
But that's probably just me reading way too much into things...
Anyway, I'm EXCITED for this season!!
