Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 <- You’re here! - Part 5
(~2,000 words.)
You've always loved the morning air. Something about it was always so.. full of life. You'd been walking through the forest for about an hour now. Following a path engraved in your head. Damp branches cracked beneath your feet. The glow of the sun just barely peaking out from the trees above you. Small droplets would fall here and there from the leaves above. It seemed the rain really did a number on the forest. In a good way, of course.
The smell of oak and damp soil hung lightly in the air, hints of a sweeter aroma- wild flowers, wafted from a few patches nearby. It was something only the rain could bring. You had made your way through the hardest part of the hike, which honestly wasn't too hard since you picked the easiest path. It was a little narrow, being covered with leaves and small brush scattered around, but it was easy to see that the path was now beginning to clear and opening up into a new zone. Your favorite area.
You've seen tons of things coming through this particular path. Small squirrels, a baby fox and their mom, a raccoon, a large centipede, and now... A large deer? No, that wasn't quite right.
There was something there, for sure. You could tell that much from here. But the real question is, what exactly was it? A human? That'd be impossible. No one really came this far out... at least, no one that you've seen. As you got closer you were able to make out a figure, then a color. Okay, definitely not human. Either that, or they were wearing a LOT of yellow right now.
Was there something in your food this morning? There'd have to been, for you to see something like this. But.. you've been completely fine up until now. You were close enough to hear a faint voice. It was so quiet... you could barely hear it- but something was... off about the sound of it. It was then that it hit you that this thing wasn't breathing at all. You were close enough to see scratchy movements, and exposed wires by it's arm. A robot. Animatronic, to be exact.
"Woah," What was an animatronic doing out here, of all places? Civilization was far away from this point, you had made sure of that when you first moved into these woods. But to see something like this...
"What.. are you?" You already knew the answer, but this was amazing! You've never really seen an animatronic like this one. The ones before were pretty much void of any colors, and only gave out automated messages last time you checked... which admittedly had been a while. You're knowledge on robots were pretty limited- if you could call the little info you had on them knowledge that is. But from what you could tell... this one was different. You had heard they were getting pretty lifelike before you moved and left the city- but this, this was something new.
The figure- no, robot  was now looking at you. Maybe you scared it? Was that even possible?? You didn't know, and didn't have much time to think about it either. Because as soon as it saw you- it started moving. In the worst way possible. You watched in horror as it slowly maneuvered it's body to face you. Well, it's upper body. It's lower half stayed still, facing the same direction you first saw it in. You stepped back. Cool or not, you did not sign up for any of those horror movies you had watched on tv.
You glanced at it's arm again. It was holding it, almost as if a child would cradle their wound; Close to their chest, somewhat scared for you see it.
It just sat there and watched you. You couldn't get a read on what it wanted.
You tiled your head. Was it hurt, then? If so, does that mean people started building robots with pain receptors?? but... why?  Why would someone want something like that- and could that even be possible in the first place?? You'd have to think about that later. Whoever built this thing definitely had a lot of money though.
You were beginning to feel uncomfortable with the overwhelming silence. It was still staring at you. Menacingly. It hadn't moved an inch since it first contorted it's body. Just what was this thi- Crackling. Then soft humming. It was very quiet, almost like a whisper... then, "S-ssssorry" It spoke.
Sorry?  You were taken aback. Out of all the things it could've said, it said sorry? But why?? You inched closer, just a bit... If it was willing to communicate then it couldn't be that dangerous, could it? So it technically wouldn't hurt to communicate back... right?
"Sorry for what?" You asked. It seemed pleased with your response, perking up just slightly before slouching back down. It looked like it was fighting to stay awake. The grip on it's arm loosening. What was wrong with it? Well you didn't really need an answer, because it started talking again. Their words were slurred together, but you could just make out what it trying to say. "Plea---se," It began to slump to the floor, earthy forest below surrounding it, "H-h-h-helllp us."
Then... nothing.
Did it just die??? You slightly began to panic. Wait- no, right... it's a robot. Pretty sure robots don't die.. hopefully. So, it's not dead? Then... You snapped your fingers and walked closer to it. Right, things like this needed a charge! It's probably out of battery. Does it need like a.. double A or something? That's always worked for your tv remote.
You knelt down, glancing over it's features exposed by the earth beneath it. Light golden rays lined it's head, and you could see a wide smile plastered across it's face. Okay, this thing definitely wasn't a remote, but.. it'd still have to charge and all that, right? So there were still some similarities... you could work with this. Robot or not, your weren't the type to just leave someone alone, especially if that someone personally asked you for help.
You gently looped your arms around theirs, careful not to touch the one with the open wires. You huffed and lifted. This thing was quite heavy. Even though you were pretty confident in your strength right now, you doubted you'd be able to carry it all the way down.
So, you did the next best thing. You lifted and decided you'd carry it at least half way, run and get your wheel barrow- somehow put it in, and push it the rest of the way back to your house.
This, was much easier said than done. And you quickly found that out. Firstly, you didn't take in account how tiring it was to carry this thing- plus run back and get the wheel barrow, just to jog it back up to where you left it (luckily it was fine), Then somehow get it in the wheel barrow- (which was very hard but you managed), Just to finally wheel it back down the rest of the way.
Once you actually got back home, all you wanted to do was sleep. But sleep wasn't an option right now. You still had to get it inside. You sighed, lifting one last time to carry it up your porch stairs and inside your house. You sat it down near a wall and flopped on the floor. You stared at ceiling. Home... finally.
You could hear Slinky chitter curiously as she peered at you from her cage. She had witnessed you struggle to carry it inside and lay down on the floor. You lifted a hand and waved at her. "I'm fine Slinky, just tired." You said.
You could see her staring at the hump of metal leaning on your wall from your peripheral. "Had to help a friend." You clarified. Slinky had always been anxious around guests, especially humans. She had her reasons... you knew that. That's why it helped to introduce them as a friend when they first meet Slinky. And family if you're really close to you- like a relative. You could tell Slinky was still tense as she looked between you and the robot, sniffing and moving to and fro in her cage. She was still anxious about it. You sat up to fully face slinky. "Hey... it's okay." You started. "They're a friend, they won't hurt either of us... okay?" You leaned over and rubbed her fur through the cage. She relaxed a bit. You watched as she cast once last glance at the robot before fully settling down. You hummed. This was good. You didn't want to stress her out. Actually, it was the last thing you wanted.
Once Slinky was satisfied with your rubbing, you quietly sat up and walked over to the robot. Okay... now what? You knelt down in front of it, hoping to at least get an idea of what it needed. You hadn't noticed before, but something really messed it up. Did it get into a fight? Something big laid A deep gash across it's chest, and there were multiple other cuts lined on it's body. There were some on it's arms, a few by it's face (though those definitely weren't that deep, more like light scraps if anything), and one more lining it stomach. One you definitely recognized as teeth marks. Yeah, it definitely got into a fight... most likely with a predator.
From what you knew it was still functioning with all this going on... so maybe it was still okay. Something you could handle later after turning it on. It was then that you noticed a tiny little compartment on it's side. It was closer to it's back, so you had to gently bend it over to get a better view.
The hatch was barely visible- actually it was almost seamless, but you could tell there was a tiny screw holding something in place. You got up and ran to your backyard, ignoring how slinky glanced your way before falling back to sleep. You had a screwdriver that was the perfect fit for that. Well, more like a set you could attach to a screwdriver.
It was a gift you were given long ago by a relative who thought you'd like it. You didn't really have a place to put it back then, so you just moved it to the shed in the backyard. the shed was a small thing.. or maybe it just looked that way. There was so much clutter you couldn't really tell.
You didn't really have a lot space to move, but there it was! The screwdriver set! Right where you left it. Satisfied, you triumphantly walked back in the house and sat back down near the robot. You hooked up your screwdriver and started twisting. You really hoped this was what you thought it was... and not something that would just confuse you more.
With one last twist the screw was out. You sat it on a table nearby. You pulled the latch open with anticipation. In the compartment revealed a small cord and a usb plug thing. You knew what this was! Well, kinda. Your tv had something similar. Which meant one thing. You could plug it in! You squealed in what could only be described as joy as you quickly plugged it into a socket nearby.
...
Nothing. Well that's to be expected, you thought. You had only just plugged it in. You knew it'd take way more time for it to turn on than just a few seconds.
You sat up and stretched, a soft yawn bubbled up as you walked over to Slinky. There was still a lot of the day ahead of you two... plus the robot. So you three. But honestly, right now you could use a nice nap. It seemed like Slinky agreed with you, already fast asleep in her little ball she curled herself into. You tiptoed into your room and picked up a spare blanket you kept near your bed. You had others.. but this one was your favorite. It was your favorite color... plus you didn't feel like looking for the other's right now. You walked back into the living room and laid on the couch. Might as well make yourself comfortable. You wanted to keep an eye on the robot. Plus, you wanted to stay with Slinky... you didn't want to leave her there alone. You glanced at the robot one last time, eyelids heavy. As you fell asleep you missed the small blinking light flash across the robots eyes.

"I feel like I'm still hungover." Jisung says over the phone, pretending to gag. You laugh a bit and shake your head, kicking off the dirt on the bottom of your shoes before entering the pottery classroom.
"Yeah, you were a mess."
"Was I really?"
"Kinda? You plopped onto the bed and fell asleep in such a weird position."
"Was I loud?"
"A bit."
☁︎ FLASHBACK | NIGHT AT THE HOTEL
"Cielo!" You hear Jisung's voice through the room door. "Cieloooo, I can't find the keycard thingy." He laughs. "Cieloooooo!" He repeats loudly in a sing-song tone. You let out a small yawn as you step out of bed and hurriedly help your bestfriend into the room.
"Ji, people are sleeping."
"Sorry! Oop—" He yells, then switches up to a loud whisper. "Sorry! I'm just soooo glad to see you."
"I am too." You chuckle. "How are you feeling?" He smiles, stumbling his way into the room and onto the bed. He plops down face-first, body laid sideways as he mumbles into the sheets and tosses his hat to the floor.
"Think I'm pretty drunk, the world feels all loopy. Unless.. am I in the upside down? You know, that weird, dark place in the show Stranger Things? Looks like it'd smell bad." He hiccups and kicks off his shoes.
"You're not." You sleepily giggle.
"You sure? Kinda feels like it—"
"You should get yourself comfy, pachi. And drink some water." You place a water bottle on the nightstand and let out another yawn. "You're gonna be okay, right? Should I call Minho?"
"Ew, god no. Don't call him." He whines. "Please Don't call Minho. He's going to yell at me and shit. I'm the fun one between us two." You chuckle and slip back into bed. "Beeeeesides, I-I said I was fine." He hiccups again.
"Prove it by getting changed and getting into bed."
"Fine. Ugh." He groans as he groggily gets up and stumbles against the wall, grabbing his pajamas from the end of the bed before walking into the bathroom. A few items drop in there, followed by Jisung's tiny complaints to himself. You finally hear the sink turn on, signaling that Jisung was brushing his teeth and getting freshened up for bed. He swings the door open and shuts off the lights, tossing his clothes onto his suitcase before jumping back into his position on the bed. "Happy?" His face is planted sideways on the sheets, so you can see when he shuts his eyes the moment exhaustion begins to take over his body.
"Just want you comfortable, Ji." You snap a photo as you sink back into bed and send it to Minho. Just as Jisung starts to hum to himself and slowly drift to sleep, Minho responds to your text.
you: he's home!
minho: jeez, look at him
minho: still don't wanna switch? 😅
you: haha no, it's okay. he's about to fall asleep. thank you though. ☺️
minho: alright. just call me if he starts being gross and throws up.
you: hope not! don't worry. thanks minho. goodnight!
minho: goodnight y/n.
☁︎ END
"Cielo, be honest." Jisung whines a bit. "I couldn't even ask yesterday because I needed to sleep on the way back. I would've thrown up." You giggle.
"It's fine. You were okay, and you were safe. That's all that matters."
"Also, how the hell did Minho know I was slumped? He was on another floor."
"I just let him know you were home, that's all."
"With a picture?!"
"Proof." You shrug to yourself as you put your bag down. "Well, I'm here."
"Good. Have fun, cielo. Let me know when you're ready?"
"I can take the train and bus back."
"You can, but I also don't want you to overexert yourself again."
"Hm." You hum. "Okay. I'll text you."
"Cool." And with that, you hang up and prepare yourself for today's class. Though, it is hard to focus because you find yourself reminiscing about the weekend's festivities.
It was fun.
It was nice to be surrounded by loved ones.
It felt normal.
And although you were glad to spend that time with everyone, you were especially glad to finally have some time with Minho. He's been such a mystery. Not that you wanted to force anything between you two, but you were hoping to talk to him. Get to know him, understand him.
Be his bestfriend in one way or another.
It felt weird? Incomplete.
So, that was nice.
It felt normal.
As class goes on, you continue to work on a few household items— a mug, plate, bowl. You're starting to feel more comfortable, as if the muscle memory was stringing along right at your fingertips. You felt content with today's class, and you were excited to head back to the floral shop to play around with more arrangements you've had in mind.
When class unfortunately comes to an end, you take your time cleaning up your area before grabbing your things and brushing yourself down. You wave at your instructor before clutching into your tote bag, making your way out of the store and towards the floral shop.
It wasn't busy.
"Um, hi." You approach the counter shyly with a few different, smaller bouquets and small plants. "I'm not sure if you remember me—"
"Of course, I do! How could I forget that pretty face?" The lady chuckles. "How did your bouquet arrangement turn out, love? Ready for more I see." You chuckle and approach the counter, placing down the small bouquets in your arms.
"I think I did alright." You show her a picture just as she's ringing you up.
"Wow, you really have an eye for colors and that monstera leaf in the back? What a great touch." She smiles.
"You think so?"
"I mean it." She looks at you. "You're hired." She laughs it off as a joke, which makes you feel a little shy knowing you actually came to see if she was hiring.
"Actually.." She tilts her head to look at you while you hand her some cash. "I did want to ask if you were hiring. I haven't worked in quite some time, but I can be of help if you needed." She softly smiles and nods.
"I would love that, but I wouldn't be able to pay you well. It's just little ol' me running this shop." She nervously chuckles.
"It's okay. I just.. want to be out of the house, doing things I enjoy again." She cocks up a brow, afraid to ask what you mean— but you give her a quick, vague explanation anyway. "I got into a car accident and I was in the hospital for awhile." She gives you a sympathetic look, making you shake your head in return. "I'm okay. I just want to keep moving forward."
"Can you start tomorrow then? 9am." You give her a soft, toothless smile and nod just as a couple walks into the shop. "We can talk a little bit more about details."
"I can." You step back and acknowledge her once more with another nod. "I will see you tomorrow. Thank you." You feel silly accepting the job when you don't even know her name, but she picks up on this quick— smiling at you before she finally reveals what you've been thinking about for the past few minutes:
"Mrs. Pak."
"Mrs. Pak." And with that, you walk out of the shop. You check your surroundings once more to see how busy it is at this time of day. It's a colder day; the sun is out, but the wind is a bit stronger than usual. Not too many people are walking around and it feels quiet than other days.
You head down towards Sunday Morning to quickly pop in for a visit just to see how everyone was doing. You figured it might be slow since there wasn't heavy foot traffic happening. Besides, you haven't heard much from Minho since the weekend and you wonder if he's okay.
Your mind wanders to him, lately.
Surprisingly, it is actually empty in the store. There's a notice on the front door that lists special hours for the next few days. You check your phone and realize you have 10 minutes before the café closes for today. You pop in anyway, catching Minho wiping away at the front counter. He looks up when he sees someone walk in through his peripherals, slowing his pace when he realizes it's you.
Yet again.
Which, he's relieved— let's get that straight. If it were anybody else, he'd shoo them away even if he had 10 minutes left until closing. He wasn't in the mood to deal, no.
But with you, he'd always make an exception.
"Y/N, hey." Minho tosses the rag to the side. "What can I get you?"
"Oh no." You chuckle as you walk towards him. "I'm sorry, I know you're pretty much closed and I don't mean to barge in. I just wanted to say hi and see how everyone was doing.. but you're alone?"
"Ah, so you came for JJ and Soobin." You laugh and shake your head.
"I came for you, mainly. If that makes you feel any better." He laughs a bit.
"I'm kidding. But, it does make me feel a bit better."
"You've been quiet since the wedding."
"Well, it's JJ's turn to leave. It's my aunt's birthday, so he's out of town to celebrate." You nod.
"That explains why you're closing early for the next few days."
"Mhm. I have workshops to teach."
"I see."
"Soobin left not too long ago."
"I'll catch him next time then. I'm glad you're doing okay."
"I'm alright." He looks at you. "Did you have fun over the weekend? Besides Jisung being loudly drunk and annoying?" You laugh.
"It was fun."
"It was."
"Thanks again for walking with me that night."
"Course." His eyes linger on you for a little longer than you're used to and it makes you shy. "You sure you don't want anything?"
"No." You shake your head. "I should probably call Ji to come pick me up—"
"I mean.. I'm closing soon so I can take you home. I have enough time before class. Plus, not that I care much for him but it'll save him a trip." He shrugs as he teases.
"Are you sure?"
"To what, both? Yeah." You giggle. "Just let me finish cleaning these down and we'll be out of here, okay?"
"Alright." You watch as Minho officially flips the 'open' sign to 'closed.' "Thank you, Minho."
"No problem." He gives you a toothless smile before proceeding with his cleaning.
you: minho said he can take me home
jisung: why is he abandoning his café
jisung: doesn't he have shit to make, errr whatever?
you: stop. lol. JJ is out of town so he's closing the café earlier for the next few days.
jisung: ahhh i see
jisung: what about his dance class?
you: he said it's fine
jisung: arrrrright then
jisung: you sure you're good? i'm just wrapping something up
you: yeah i am, i'll go with him. why? you sound unsure?
jisung: nah. sorry cielo, i just wanted to make sure it was okay.
you: it is, promise. i'll text you when i get home?
jisung: mmkay, sounds good!
"Alright." Minho says, coming out of the back as he unties his apron and hangs it up. "Ready?" He shuts off the lights to the back and double checks everything on the counter.
"Whenever you are." You give him a small smile. He starts to lead the way, checking his surroundings before shutting off the lights and locking the front door. "Were you and Soobin okay today?"
"Yeah. We have someone else come in from time to time, but she has limited availability cause of school." You nod.
"That's good you have more help." You let Minho lead you to his car, allowing him to open the door for you. You slip in and buckle yourself in, silently waiting for Minho to settle into the driver's seat. It's quiet for awhile, even as his music starts to softly play in the background. "Wait, this won't be a trip for you since you have to get back into town for class?"
"No." He shakes his head. "I don't mind the drive. Kinda a stress reliever."
"Alright then." You chuckle.
"Did you tell Jisung?"
"Yeah." Minho slowly nods. "I think he felt bad, he kept asking if I was sure. Or, if you were okay with it." Minho knows it's not that— maybe 2% of it, actually. The other 98%? Jisung being overprotective and trying to shield you from him. But, can Minho blame him?
Yes and no?
He'll expect the questions later, even if Jisung tries to beat around the bush about it.
"It's fine. He's probably worried I'll end up beating his ass for it." You chuckle.
"You won't right?"
"No." He smirks a bit. "Not yet."
"Minho." You whine a bit.
"I'm kidddddding." He elongates his response. "It's really not a problem. I don't mind the drive, I told you."
"Okay. You said so." You shrug a bit, making him laugh. It's cute. You were always worried about Jisung because that boy had a tendency to be way too impulsive, on top of already chaotic. He was a recipe for disaster growing up. But, it was never to this extent, where you're whining and showing off those puppy eyes. "Guess what?" You turn to him and Minho cocks a brow up.
"Hm?"
"I got a job at the floral shop."
"Down the street from the café?" You nod. "Nice. You feel ready for it?"
"I think so. It'll be fun. At least, I think it will be."
"It will. You'll be doing what you love. You're good at what you do, Y/N."
"Am I?" You giggle.
"You are. You have always been." Minho says, avoiding eye contact. He still remembers your drawings he's stashed away. The random paintings, the little sculptures and figurines you'd make him in Ceramics class. He still has it. He could never toss it out.
"I hope I get there again."
"You will. Baby steps. Any progress is progress."
"Right."
"You'll be fine, Y/N."
"Thanks, Minho." You yawn a bit as you look out the window. The rest of the ride is quiet, but it's a comfortable silence. Minho looks over every now and then, a tiny smile forming at the corners of his lips before he returns his attention to the road.
It's you.
You're here.
You're breathing.
It's you.
Suddenly, your phone dings on your lap and Minho can't help but quickly glance over. He sees you smile a bit before unlocking your phone, clicking on the message to respond right away. Minho nibbles on his bottom lip while he watches you every now and then in his peripherals, probably sending off messages to one other person he can think of—
san: how'd it go?!
you: it went well! i got it. ☺️
san: i knew you would, i think she really adored you from the beginning. lol. how couldn't she?
you: lol ya right!
san: you'll be a big help to her. 😊 let's hang out soon, celebratory dinner or something? on me.
you: you spoil me too much, lol. but sure! that'll be fun.
san: nah, it's nothing. let's go this upcoming week. lmk when you're free after you get your schedule or something.
you: okay. ☺️
san: 😊 have a good evening, y/n.
You finally shut off your phone and start looking out the window again, giving Minho some relief as he continues to drive off.
"Everything okay?" He asks to play it off.
"Mhm!" You look at him with that look, one that could make him immediately melt. "San was asking how it went at the floral shop. He wants to hang out soon to celebrate."
"Do you hang out often?"
"We have, from time to time. He calls a lot to check on me."
"Hm. That's nice." Is all he says. It's all he has to say. Respectfully.
"Yeah." You chuckle a bit to yourself before looking back out at the window, resting your head against the side. Minho thinks you're probably trying to offset the slight motion sickness with the way you shut your eyes for a bit. Luckily, you don't have much longer until you're home.
Sooner or later, Minho is arriving at your house and a huge wave of nostalgia washes over him again. He sets the car in park, watching as you unbuckle your seatbelt and gather your things.
"Thanks for bringing me home, Minho." You look at him softly. "I appreciate it."
"Course." He gives you a toothless smile. "Do you need help?"
"Ah, no. I'll be okay." You giggle. "Have fun at class? You should really get some rest."
"I'll try."
"Good." You give him a smile before shutting the door and making your way towards the side of the house. Just as you reach the side gate, you turn to give Minho one last wave before stepping inside. Minho drives off contently, unsure of this lingering feeling of emptiness he's been experiencing since that night of the hotel.
Since every night after the accident.
But, since that night at the hotel especially.
Before he can even dig deeply into his feelings, his phone vibrates and lights up in the middle console. He's hoping it's a text from you, thinking you probably forgot something, thinking you just want to thank him for the ride again.
It's not.
kat: hey, wanna swing by? i think we should talk about the last time you came by. i'm sorry.
He feels everything within him drop to the pit of his stomach, energy drained and mood soured. He quickly thinks about that night at Kat's and how she had the audacity to bring you up with that specific tone.
No.
minho: i appreciate that, but i don't think i'll be coming by. too tired.
kat: oookay.. kinda hate how weird you've been towards me
minho: sorry, just lots going on. jj's gone so i have to hold down the fort for the café
kat: i see. alrighty then, goodnight minho.
Minho debates on saying goodnight back, but he doesn't. And if it's one thing this conversation showed him— it's the fact that he's done.
This is done.
☁︎ FLASHBACK | A WEEKEND DURING SOPHOMORE YEAR IN COLLEGE
"I have something for you." You sit in Minho's passenger seat with your hands tucked into your jacket, a huge smile breaking out on your face.
"What is it?" Minho cocks a brow up while chuckling at you.
"Close your eyes! Please. Close your eyes." Minho groans a bit but does as he's told. "Yay, thank you!" You giggle, holding the tiny gift in the palm of your hand for a second. You watch as he sighs a bit, the impatience starting to take over bit by bit.
"Y/N?"
"Oops, I forgot it." You joke.
"You can't be serious—" He whines with his eyes still closed.
"Kidding! I wouldn't do that!"
"I wouldn't put it past you."
"Hey!" You say before adjusting your position in his seat. "Here." He opens his eyes, watching as you hand him the little Pusheen looking figurine you made him in ceramics.
"Aw." Minho laughs. "How cute is this? The eye is lopsided."
"No the fuck it's not! How dare you!"
"Dude, look at it."
"You're such a dick." Minho laughs louder and shakes his head.
"I'm kidding, babe. It's cute, I love it. Thank you." He smiles brightly at you before gently grabbing at your wrist to pull you over the console. He places a kiss on your cheek, before moving to the tip of your nose, to your lips. You giggle in between, making Minho repeatedly peck you with more small kisses.
"I'm glad you like it. It was a random thing I made in between."
"Of course I do. I'll put this on my desk, where I can see it every single day. Okay?"
"Kay." You laugh before giving him one last kiss. "I should probably go, my uncle is probably wondering where I'm at."
"Do you really have to go home this weekend?" You chuckle.
"I need to spend time with my grandparents, so yes. I'll be back tomorrow evening!"
"That's too far." He furrows his brows, making you softly smack his forehead with a laugh.
"I'll be back before you know it. You have Chan, Seungmo and Jisung! Make sure Jisung doesn't do dumb shit." You start to unbuckle your seatbelt. "Thanks for driving me home, babe." He smiles. "I love you!"
"I love you, too." He says. "Hey, wait?" You look back just as you step out of the car. "One more for the road?" He smirks before puckering his lips. You lean down and give him one last kiss before shoving him away by the forehead, earning a loud laugh from Minho as you shut the door and walk off. You wave him goodbye just as you step to your front door, unlocking it and stepping inside— giving Minho the clear to drive off.

Welcome To The Family (3/???)
1/ 2
Warnings of bad babysitters, and a couple swears but I think that’s it. Also sorry if this seems more of a filler chapter. Can’t believe I might have made a filler chapter with my favorite character. -_-
--------------------------------------------------
It’s been a week since that night. Shinsou even started joining Eri and me with things now with a small smile instead of a glare. Aizawa is the last one that still doesn’t really care for me I’m pretty sure. Today they didn’t need me to babysit since the students at the school kept begging them to bring Eri to see again. Who can blame them? Eri can melt the heart of anyone.
I was already told a few days ago to call Yamada by his first name, but it’s rather similar to Shinsou’s. I still keep getting them mixed up in my head. I still prefer to call them by their last names. Why can’t I just keep calling them by their last names? My fault for wanting to be friends with them I suppose.
Yamada texted me he wants me to come into his recording studio tonight. Something about finally having the chance to know me better? But don’t we pretty much know everything about each other already from him reading my summary and I knowing him from his professions, as well as Eri telling both of us things about each other?
Eh, I didn’t have anything planned to do today anyway.
I waited for it to get later in the day and head towards the location of the studio. He’s also a teacher, so it would be better to arrive a bit later, knowing he will be there then as well. I might ask him for a ride back to my home though if he’s willing. I don’t really want to walk alone at night back to my place, considering here is a much farther distance to my place than their house to mine. Kind of surprised to not have run into a villain yet. Here’s to hoping I never do.
Entering the tower, I’m greeted by someone unknown sitting at a desk. She has a rather deep frown on her face as she saw me enter and walk up to the desk. I feel like a nervous wreck trying to tell her I’m here to see Yamada. What if he forgot to tell her and I get humiliated?
Okay, that might be a bit ridiculous. No one else is around. “Hello. I’m here to uh… See Yamada?” Her frown deepens even further. “Farthest room on the right.” I walk towards the door. Hospitality much?
I knock on the door and wait for him to answer.
“C’mon in, Y/N!” He yells through the door. His voice was rather quiet, so the room must be incredibly soundproof. I enter the room and see Best Jeanist sitting on a chair in front of him. “I’m not interrupting anything, am I?” I ask.
They both shake their heads. “No, we just finished a bit ago,” Best Jeanist does a weird hand motion over his hair? “I’ll be leaving now. This was a pleasant time.” He gets up and leaves.
After a bit, I sat in the chair he was just sitting in, and it felt rather awkward between us. The warmth of the seat not aiding in much comfort.
“So… Is the woman at the main desk usually in such a mood, or is it a bad day today?”
He laughs. “She’s been like that for a while!”
For a while? “What made her like that?”
He shakes his head. “She still digs me. A while ago we tried having her as Eri’s babysitter, but it didn’t go well with how uncaring she was for her. Sho and I could both tell she couldn’t have cared less for our kids and was rather disgusted finding out Sho and I were married. She still kept tryin’ though, so we had to kick her from babysitting.”
“That explains why she seemed so annoyed with me when I asked her where your room was.”
He nods. “Yep! It probably doesn’t help I teased her by tellin’ her you’re our new sitter!”
I give him an incredulous look. “Why would you do that?”
“Ah, don’t be so worried! I just told her how you’re already a way better sitter than she ever was!”
I don’t really know what to say to that. It’s just what I’m supposed to do, isn’t it? “It’s just my job. But to be honest, Eri makes it way more enjoyable. Hate to say I have favorites, but she easily has to be in my top five favorite kids I ever got to babysit.”
He seems to grow even happier at the news, judging by his smile growing bigger. Jeez, how does his face get that big without strain!? “So glad to hear that! I Gotta say, we were close to givin’ up on the whole babysitter thing until we passed yours.”
I tilt my head. “Why is that?”
His face goes into a frown. “The first two were actually villains. The first was working with some villains in trying to get Eri. Luckily we found out the same day before leaving from our son using his quirk on them. The second was known for stealin’ people’s items, but the reviews were deleted so we didn’t know until it was too late. They didn’t take anything that couldn’t be replaced though.”
“Like Eri.”
He smiles again. “Yep! But we obviously couldn’t have someone like that around us, ya know? So we caught them and turned ‘em in.”
I nod. “That makes sense. Was the next one the woman at the desk?”
He shakes his head. “Nope! That was the next one. The third one was pretty good. Or so we thought, but our son didn’t feel right with them being around Eri,” His fists clench tightly, and his frown is even deeper than before. “Turns out he had an obsession of bein’ in charge and kept bossing Eri around when we weren’t home. Making her clean everything and took the credit. I went home early one day and caught him in the act.”
My heart twinges knowing Eri had to go through EVEN MORE than she already did. “Please tell me you decked him for it.”
He smirks. “Sho wasn’t too happy at me for it, but fuck yeah I did!”
“Glad to hear!” I smirk. “I bet Shinsou was all for you decking him as well, knowing him.”
He nods. “Yep! He told me if he was there, he would have done the same thing!”
“Sounds like him.”
It goes quiet between us after that. I keep trying to think of something else to talk about, but my mind keeps coming up blank. Surprisingly or not, I’m not nearly as good at talking with adults as I am with kids. They’re usually easily distracted, and bringing up one thing can make them go into an hour of talking about it.
“Just curious, do ya ever listen to my show?” He suddenly asks. I’m so thankful he’s able to come up with something.
“Sometimes. I was introduced to it by a child I babysat before. I wasn’t too appreciative of the tantrums he would throw when he couldn’t listen to it though. It also took a bit, but your show started to grow on me.”
He smiles again. “Glad to know I’ve got some good hard fans listenin’ in!”
I roll my eyes with a smile. “I don’t think his parents would agree with you, but go ahead and think what you want.”
He smiles and shrugs.
I can’t help but suddenly try to clear my throat from how dry it seems in here now that I notice. He notices, gets up, and grabs a bottle of water from a stand not too far from his seat, passing it to me. “Here ya go! Sorry for it bein’ so dry in here. One of the previous people using this room has some desert-like quirk. Gotten pretty used to it myself!”
I take the bottle. “Thanks, Hitoshi.”
He stops for a moment and blinks at me. “I think ya mean Hizashi, my dear listener!”
.
.
Oh. OH. FUCK!
I let out an embarrassed groan and couldn’t even look at him in the eyes, making him laugh incredibly hard at my reaction. “Don’t worry about it! They do seem rather similar, don’t they?” I just reply by nodding my head. Not being used to their first names really came to bite me, didn’t it?
Hizashi’s phone started to ring. He sees who it is, and answers it.  “Hey babe, what ya need?” He’s quiet for a second, but then his eyes widen as he turns and looks at the clock. “Shit! Sorry, guess time slipped by! I’ll be there shortly!” He then hangs up.
“Hey, we gotta pick up Eri and Sho from the school. Since you’re here, I could drive ya if you want!” Hearing that is more relieving than having to ask him. “Sure. If it’s not too much trouble.”
“Not at all!”
As we leave, I look back to see the woman glaring hard at me from being beside Hizashi. It’s already decided. The less I’m around her, the better.
We walk down to his black car. I get into the back seat so his husband can sit in the front. On the left is the car seat for Eri. I’ll get out when we get there so Shin- Hitoshi can sit in the middle. I really need to get them straight now before I get embarrassed by saying the wrong name again.
Huh, the seats are incredibly comfortable. They’re also a beige color. Some reason, I was really expecting a different color. Not judging though, since I don’t even have one.
It stays quiet between us until we enter the school area. It’s crazy to see in person. Aizawa, Eri, and Hitoshi are waiting outside by the entrance. I exit the vehicle, and she brightens upon seeing me. I get tackled into a hug by her. “Hey, Eri! Good to see you again!”
“Even though it’s only been a day?” Hitoshi teases.
“Admit it. You missed me too.” I tease.
He smirks. “Maybe, maybe not.” He teases back.
Aizawa’s expression is unreadable as he looks at me. I decide to just give him space and accept he might just never like me. I’m honestly a little scared to try since he might get pissed off at me instead of not liking me too much. That’s a scary thought itself. He sits up front while I help Eri get into her seat. Shin- Hitoshi waits for me to walk around and sit in the middle. Maybe to keep them straight I could call them Toshi and Zashi. Would they mind that? That seems maybe too unprofessional though.
“Do you want to drop me off first, or your family first since my place is farther away, Hizashi?”
“I think we can go to your place first. Kinda curious to see your place, dear listener! I heard your place is rather lively!” He looks into the mirror at me. “Oh! And ya got the name right this time!”
Really? Why do you have to embarrass me in front of your whole family!? I groan and hide my face with my hands.
“This time?” Aizawa questions.
“They accidentally called me our son’s name! Ya shoulda seen their face when they realized!”
I take my hands off my face. “You didn’t have to tell them that! I’m sorry! I’m not used to your first names yet!”
Hizashi and Hitoshi both laugh at me. Hitoshi’s was more of a snicker.
I decide to try to change the subject to save myself from the embarrassment. “So, you know where it is, or do you need me to tell you the way?”
“Nope! I got it memorized already!”
“Good to know.”
----------------------------------------------
We all talk a bit more on our way to my place. “Oh yeah! Hey, Y/N!” Hizashi suddenly pipes up when I was saying some joking banter with Hitoshi.
“Yeah?” I question.
“Are ya goin’ to the festival next week?”
I shrug in reply. “Not really sure. I was thinking of maybe spending a bit more time with my neighbors since I haven’t done that very much for a while.”
None of them seemed to be too happy with that I think from their silence for a minute.
“You could come with us. I’m sure Eri would like you to come.” Hitoshi informs.
Eri nods enthusiastically at me when I look at her. My brows narrow in thought. “Isn’t that a family day for you guys though? I really don’t want to intrude.”
For the first time since I’ve met him, Aizawa replies to me. “It’s not intruding if we’re inviting.”
I look at Eri again, who is beyond pleading me to go. Damn it, how in the world can I say no to her? “I guess my friends could wait a bit longer. Sure, I can come.”
“Great! We’ll pick ya up that day then!”
It’s easy to tell we’re getting close to my place by the music that blairs into the car.
… Are they seriously playing “It wasn’t me” by Shaggy today? I can’t help but laugh while everyone in the car but Hizashi is confused. It’s a nightly occurrence I’ve finally gotten used to, and sometimes even join them for a bit. I’ve learned quite a bit of English from them as well. They’re great neighbors. Honestly they’re one of the reasons I don’t move out, though now I could. This place has gotten rather cheap rent from these rambunctious people. It started with two, and soon the whole building became nothing but chaos. They’ve been frowned upon by many for their ways, but they couldn’t seem to care less. No noise complaints? No problems.
“What are you laughing at?” Hitoshi questions.
“Just my neighbor’s choice of song tonight. I’m beyond surprised they haven’t gotten into trouble for it yet.”
“You can understand it!?” Hizashi excitedly exclaims.
“Mostly. They taught me some English from me being here.”
Even though Hizashi seems like the type to like many types of music, he doesn’t seem to like the lyrics too much. Well. it IS about cheating after all. I’m beyond thankful Eri doesn’t understand any of it. Both from probably being too young, and not knowing the language very well yet.
“What’s the song about?” Eri questions.
Uh… “You don’t want to know. It’s a gross song.”
“Why laugh if it’s gross?”
I reach over and gently pat her head. I’ve finally gotten close enough she no longer fears my touch. “You will find out when you’re older. It’s an adult thing.”
She seems unsure. “O...kay.”
Hizashi pulls up to the building. My crazy friends being outside dancing their pants off as usual. I laugh at them and shake my head. Hitoshi gets out for me to exit. They all freeze and stare at me as I exit the vehicle, Hitoshi immediately getting back in. I wave at them and head towards my friends.
My closest friend, Ryo, comes up to me. “What up, my friend?” They put their hand up for a high five. Just another rare thing these people like to do. I high five their hand.
“Not much! Just got back from another day of sitting! You know, the usual!” Sadly I can’t tell them the truth from the promise to the heroes.
They take a quick glance at the car, then back at me with a whistle. “You sure got the jackpot huh? Bet those are some lucky kids!”
“It’s nothing much. Kids are kids. They’d like anyone that’s kind to them and listens to them.”
“Ah, don’t be so modest now!” They get me in a headlock and rub my head in a jokingly aggressive way. “Any kid is lucky if they get you as a sitter!”
I laugh and force myself out of their grip. Hizashi quickly pulls away in the car in the process.
We enter the building, and I’m incredibly glad they didn’t ask to come in. On the outside the place looks fine, but the inside is pretty much falling apart. Walls peeling, and the floor thin enough to feel the vibrations of the music underneath. Hey, at least we never have a mold problem. It might be from someone here who has a mold-absorption type of quirk. How he discovered it, I don’t want to know.
I’m rather tired today, so I’m not joining them. Ryo seemed to notice, so they went back out to the others. I just flop onto my bed and almost immediately fall asleep.

Chain of Gold Commentary pt. 1
Tumblr media
Who’s the worst TSC fan of all time? Me! * plays the kazoo poorly *
Yeah so, I’m late to the party but I finally got around to read Chain of Gold and here are my thoughts as I read the first half of it.
Hope you enjoy all my ramblings!
(Part 2 coming next week)
Chapter 1 to 12:
- I hate the pretentious quotes and references. I hate them with a passion!
- Dragged to hell? Just like that?
- James will be another brooding white boy who gets his suffering romanticized huh
- What’s the point of Christopher’s eyes being purple? Or is he just that weird OC that has weird eyes instead of a personality?
- Okay. I like the group dynamic. Some white boys are funny
- Cassie is physically incapable of passing the betchdel test, it seems
- Not me forgetting who Charles was. Wow, fake fan
- If I read this book when it came out, I’d think shipping a teenage girl with a ghost was weird and borderline problematic. After watching jatp, this might as well be one of my favorite romantic tropes. Who would have thought 😅
- I was not expecting a Tessa POV. What a pleasant surprise
- So demon grandpa is important. I’m excited
- Anna is too cool!
- Dude, this picnic scene is making me hungry
- Okay, I really like that cordelia doesn’t hate grace. It’s clear she likes James but it’s not that annoying bs of girls hating each other because they like the same boy. Let’s see if this is true for most of the book
- Matthew listing out their tropes was funny
- Cassie can only write one male main character and it’s always brooding white boy with “dark” secret. Try to vary from time to time, jeez
- Listen, I love how Cassie loves to describe every single tiny irrelevant detail in a scene, but christ, chill out! This book would be half its length if there wasn’t so mush filler! I want plot not half a chapter describing a garden!
- I’m only invested on the ghost boy (shocker, I know)
- “Demon enthusiast” haha, more like “Benedict Lightwood was a demon fucker”
- Let Christopher make more duck metaphors 2021
- I’m living for the Anna Cordelia Matthew friendship!
- The amount of eye rolling I’m doing this first half is not a good sign, yall
- Okay but why are Jesse and Lucie so cute?
- Lily!!! Malcolm can choke
- Are Alastair and Thomas on a date? Cause that kinda feels like a date
- I love Christopher so much
- My gaydar is beeping. Thomas and Alastair definitely have something. That tattoo is important for sure
- What do you mean she died???
- Just like that??? I’m speechless
- Why is cordelias nickname layla? Wouldn’t it make more sense to be delia? Did I miss something?
- The gaydar is almost exploding! Alastair and Charles huh
- Dude, can Sophie not suffer for ONE book? Poor girl can’t catch a break
- I don’t feel an inch of sadness about Barbara. She was barely a character, why feeling bad for her now?
- The pretentiousness of these teens quoting Shakespeare tho. I’m laughing. I shouldn’t, but I’m laughing
- This book is very gay. I love it
- Okay I love lucie and Matthew being siblings too!
- Oh fuck! Grace and Charles???
- Henrondale boys, the most dramatic bitches in existance
- Wait. Aro Grace anyone?
- Whoa!!!!! She’s like a siren or something?? Why did Matthew... what is happening???

Tension - Part 2
A/N Here is fun ol’ part 2! It’s a bit of a filler/ character building chapter, but I hope you still enjoy :)
Part 2
Rain pounded on the windows of the library, a chill starting to creep into the castle as winter began. Y/N had always liked the rain, it meant that she could convince the house-elves in the kitchen to make her hot chocolates and cosy herself into the Slytherin Common Room with a blanket for the whole evening.
Thunder rumbled loudly, and Y/N couldn’t help but smile, thinking about finishing Slughorn’s essay on sleeping potions curled by one of their charmed windows. Remus knocked her shoulder, glaring at her.
“Can you please pay attention to me for one second?”
“Jeez, is someone on the edge of their cycle,” Y/N rolled her eyes exaggeratedly but Remus looked like he was about to growl at her.
“I asked you a question.”
“Yes, yes, sorry, I don’t know.”
“You should know, McGonagall said she was going to quiz us next week and I’d rather not get destroyed by the Gryffindors again, who, by the way, I literally never see in here, do they even study?”
“Ok, ok, calm down, I promise I will study before class ok?” Y/N reassured him, “And anyway, you’re ten times smarter than those twats.”
“I just wish they didn’t think they were gods gift to mankind, and with that little one following him around all the time boosting their egos…”
“Yeah I kinda feel sorry for him,” Y/N grabbed another book from the pile, “How bout I quiz you alright?”
“Yeah, yeah ok. Hit me.”
They studied for the rest of the afternoon, only heading to grab the end of dinner once Remus was satisfied. Y/N watched as Remus picked at the chunk of mashed potato he had on his plate, whilst she ate some chicken and broccoli, holding off a little for treacle tart later.
“You feeling ok?”
“Fine.”
“Oh yes, you look super fine Moon-boy.”
“Would you shut up with that,” Remus always was angrier around the full moon, but there was a little part of Y/N that enjoyed teasing him just a little. She wondered if one day she might get a smile out of him during the full moon, but so far she hadn’t quite broken through.
“Alright, well go lie down, I’ll meet you later, ok?” Remus nodded, standing up slowly, keeping his eyes down and walking out of the Great Hall.
“He’s sick again?” Y/N turned to see a Severus watching him closely as he left the hall, eyes narrowed.
“Yep.”
She ignored his consistent stares and continued her dinner. Severus was always suspicious when Remus didn’t turn up at their dorm every month, and Y/N was sure he would figure it out before long. She doubted that their elaborate lies regarding different wizard-borne illnesses would stop him from researching further, though it was fun confusing him with the occasional charm to put Dragon pox scars on Remus’ face.
“Shove off, Snape,” Regulus pushed him sideways on the Slytherin benches and sat next to Y/N, “Getting a good feed there?”
“I’m a growing girl, Reggie.”
“You did always love those family dinners,” He winked and stole a potato of her plate.
“Oh yes, my favourite,” Y/N avoided rolling her eyes, knowing that Regulus was still in the Black’s good graces, even if he joked around about their similar family traditions. She quickly finished off her dinner and grabbed her bag, “See you around, Black.”
“Adios, Malfoy.”
He winked at her and she rolled her eyes, following Remus’s route out of the hall and towards the dungeons. It was nearly 7 pm and getting steadily darker outside, meaning that Remus would have already been escorted to the Shrieking Shack, or as he called it, his fun personal torture chamber.
Y/N went up to the dorm and slipped into bed, waiting for the rest of the girls to come in and fall asleep before she got up/ Y/N glanced around the room to ensure the rest of the dorm was snoring loudly. She had a bag stashed underneath her bed with supplies for the evening, sneaking them out of the dorm and into the Slytherin Common Room.
She paused, waiting on the edge of the staircase, scanning the room carefully until she was sure it was clear to sneak out of the front door and out of the dungeons. She followed her way along the edge of the staircases until she reached the first-floor corridor, keeping her hands along the wall to avoid having to light up her wand and wake the portraits.
Finally, she reached the portrait of Gregory the Smarmy. She pushed it aside and stepped through to a small hole to crawl through, leading to a small set of steps leading downwards.
They led to the side of the castle and into the gardens where she could easily sneak toward the Whomping Willow. Y/N could already hear the screams coming from inside, taking a deep breath before she stretched her back and turned into her Animagus form. It was still painful getting used to it, and she winced as she got down on all fours and stretched out her back before following the passage down and into the shack.
She waited in the entrance for a moment, keeping her breathing short and quiet to try to hide from Remus. Remus and Y/N had a deal when it came to her aiding his transformations. She had to wait a few hours until he had already transformed and eaten, basically until he was calm enough to not hurt her.
Whilst Y/N had protested, telling him that he should have someone with him when he changed, but with there only being one of her there was no one to tag team if things got hairy.
Once Y/N could only hear Remus huffing, and the sound of him walking over the wooden floorboards, or potentially broken furniture, she crept out towards the shack, her feet padding softly on the ground, not making a sound.
She made a soft growl, warning him of her presence in advance before letting herself be seen by the huge wolf panting in the corner. It had taken over a year, and a butt-load of research, before Remus’ wolf form had allowed for Y/N to enter without a small fight.
They had found that since Remus was technically the larger and physically stronger of the two, it would require Y/N to ‘submit’ to him, which made Y/N extremely irritated at first. But now, as long as Y/N didn’t try to pull rank, they were able to be together inside the shack and keep each other company, letting Remus exert energy by play-fighting instead of hurting himself.
Remus wore out around 3 or 4am, curling up in the corner and falling asleep, growling softly every few minutes. Y/N found a spot in the other corner to ensure he didn’t accidentally scratch her in the middle of the night and fell asleep quickly, very worn out from the evening’s activities.
Hours later, light began to stream through the dirty windows and Y/N woke up quickly, looking over to make sure Remus had changed back and grabbed one of the blankets she’d left by his side.
He gave her a weak smile as Y/N turned back, pulling on a coat and pair of pants behind a chest of drawers before going out to join him.
“Ready to go?” Y/N held out a hand, and Remus stood up precariously, leaning on her side, shivering in his blanket. There was blood dripping out from underneath it and she silently cursed, hoping that he hadn’t cut himself too deep.
She helped pull him out of the passageway from the shrieking shack and tapped the root of the Whomping Willow to stop thrashing around in front of them.
“So that’s how you do it” A voice gasped loudly, coming from just beyond the tree’s roots. Y/N looked around wildly, attempting to pull her wand from her rucksack and face whoever was watching them.
“Sirius, and posse. Of course,” Y/N huffed, lowering her wand as Remus leaned harder on her shoulder, the cut clearly deeper than Y/N had anticipated, “Look can we have whatever this is later? I need to get Remus to Hospital Wing ASAP.”
“Need a fun break from the full moon huh” James cocked an eyebrow, wand still raised at the two of them. Y/N narrowed her eyes at him, reaching back towards her wand.
“What is this an ambush?”
“We were just curious what mister Lupin does every month, on the full moon,” Sirius smiled uncomfortably, watching the two of them closely.
“Well it sounds like you’ve figured it out, aren’t you the smartest bean in Hogwarts. Can we not let Remus die here please?”
“He’s not going to-,“ James started, but as if on queue Remus passed out, falling fast onto the grass.
“Shit- could you guys please put away your wands and help?” Y/N glared at them and they paused, looking much less macho than they did a minute earlier.
“Yes, of course” James finally broke, elbowing Sirius. They both went down to help Y/N pick Remus up. They didn’t say another thing until they heaved him up into the castle and to the Hospital Wing to a waiting, and very confused, Madame Pomfrey.
“What on earth are all of you doing here?” Madame Pomfrey pushed them all away from Remus has they set him down on a bed, “Do you know how dangerous the grounds can be at night?”
“Yeah, in the full moon,” Sirius muttered, and Y/N kicked him in the shin.
“Ok, I need you all to leave and let this boy rest, you can visit him this afternoon,” Madame Pomfrey shuffled them out of the hospital wing quickly. The boys turned to face Y/N almost immediately, making Y/N say in exasperation for whatever they were about to say.
“What are you thinking?”
“He’s dangerous!”
“Why do either of you care?” Y/N was taken aback, expecting much more hate and less concern, “This is really not your problem.”
“He could hurt someone!” James looked bewildered.
“Why do you think he leaves the castle every month!” Y/N stepped forward, eyes flashing at the two boys, “You have no right to come harassing him like this, do you even know what he goes through? Did you ever stop to think how painful it would be to have your entire body contort into something twice your size? Stop digging your nose into things that don’t concern you.”
“We were just trying to -.”
“What? Help? Save Hogwarts from an unknown beast? You know I bet if Remus was in any other house you would have bothered to research more into his condition before you jumped to conclusions.” Y/N hissed at them, turning on her heel and storming away from the two of them, leaving them flabbergasted.
“Who knew a Malfoy could care about something other than themselves,” Sirius raised an eyebrow, watching after her curiously.
“Well not all purebloods are alike are they mate,” James elbowed Sirius grinning, “Come on stop staring at her, let's go see what Peter’s up to. Maybe he’ll help me practice catching the snitch.”
“Drool over you more like it,” Sirius cackled, following James towards the Gryffindor Common Room, but he was still thinking about the fiery look Y/N had given him moments before.

You know what time it is? Time for me to carry on re-reading that clusterheck known as The Misadventures of Prince Kim, on an epic journey to correct typos and question my entire life!
K we’re up to chapter 11 let’s gooooo
This is pretty much the only time in the whole thing where Max proper has a go at Kim, and honestly he deserves it!! yes nerd boy, go off!!
how to deal with the guy you’re unknowingly crushing on being your parents’ deadly enemy -- just CHALLENGE HIM TO A SWORD DUEL apparently, Kim what the actual hell
srsly though where did Kim get that sword
Adrien is so good and blessed... and also everything in his lil speech is gonna be a plot point in the sequel
Kim thAT’S SO GAY OMG YOU’RE SUCH A DISASTER BI
Everything about Max and Kim’s friendship is just so good ugh that’s one thing at least I’m proud of in this fic, the epic slowburn Kimax, it’s good and I’m happy with it
Max saying “I realize that may have been short-sighted of me” is a pun by the way (because he wears glasses), pls appreciate it
“Seasons are a social construct, Max. Time is an illusion.” I will NEVER be able to outdo the genius of this line
Chapter 12 here we go
Max’s entire reason for being in this fic is being the love interest, I swear... like in the first half of the fic he just suffers internal gay heartbreak over and over, and in the second half he’s perfectly happy with his bae and doesn’t rly have any stakes in the plot aside from wanting to keep the people he cares about safe... he’s the Love Interest(TM)
More geography lessons now, mixed in with science and history too... I know I call Max a nerd but maybe I’M the nerd
the world of the fic is so messed up, I mean Chloe’s walking around in rococo clothing and her citizens are peasant farmers wanting to guillotine her, and then there’s kingdoms like Max’s and Alix’s, who have cars and planes and phones and stuff?? this really is a game of Civ, dang
hmm... I think it’s implied that later on in the fic satellites are already in space, but here Max says they’re still being built... eh whatever I can just pretend they launched inbetween at some point or that Max’s research is a bit out of date
his speech really did have a global impact okay, I swear it was plot relevant and not just filler because I think Max is really cool and super underrated or anything
the entire Animan episode is happening on the side as a B-plot just because why not
CHAPTER 13 NOW, HELL YES BRING ON THE GAY
Nath is me omg, that social anxiety amirite
Myvan is canon!!! Myvan is canon!!! I’d forgotten about that whoops
this is LITERALLY just Animan except at a ball
Adrien making puns and calling Marinette “princess”... I was not that subtle was I
yes the hot Italian noble is Lila, I wasn’t particularly subtle about that either
...I’ve just realized, the next time I’m around mistletoe I’ll just pretend to have a cold and then everyone will stay away from me lmao (Alix wasn’t pretending tho, she really did have a cold here)
YES HERE COMES THE ADRIKIM MISTLETOE KISS
it’s funny because Adrien partially decides to do it because he thinks his dad would be mad about him having a crush on Kim, but later in the fic when Gabe finds out he doesn’t really care lol
for the record the reason I skipped writing the actual kiss is because I had NO idea how to write kisses (the chapter 24 one is pretty much glossed over too!), I only started bothering later on when Kimax, because, yknow, KIMAX
Kim and Max talking about their boy crushes together is so adorable hhhhhhhh can I skip like 30 chapters already
“I can’t believe I had my first kiss, and I can never tell anyone about it because it was with a guy.” this is actually the funniest thing in hindsight because in exactly a year’s time, Kim just straight-up brags to people about how he’s so hot that even a boy kissed him last year
okay now chapter aeroplanes (that’s 14, btw)
Kim trying to stay away from home for as long as possible to avoid getting told off is the biggest mood and I hate it
the journey to Max’s kingdom took two days?? hmm... later on in the fic it seems to take less time... ahhh idk let’s just say they took the scenic route okay
now you readers get to learn some science stuff
can the show please give us Max’s canon family? I brushed over it entirely in this fic but idk how the hell I’d do that in the sequel
oh yeah so in this fic, most of the time they’re talking in French. however, they all know English too as a lingua franca thing, so that way all the stupid puns can still work because you can pretend they switched into English for those bits
KIM GEEKING OUT OVER AEROPLANES IS SO PRECIOUS OMG HOW DID I DO THAT
So if Alix took her pet snake on the plane... then I guess you could say there were... Snakes on a Plane AYYYYYY
Also, like... she doesn’t even talk to Kim and Max in the actual show, her being best friends with them is a fanon thing and that being said, I totally went for it lol I wanted her to be relevant okay
Jalil is so sarcastic in this fic (mostly because you see him from Kim’s point of view and he hates Kim lmao) I don’t even know why I did that, I just did, he’s basically just me
I swear this reads so... ugh what’s the phrase I’m thinking of? double nintendo-ey? IT FEELS MORE SHIPPY THAN IT IS, THAT’S WHAT I’M TRYING TO SAY
oh dear I’m having an allergic reaction again
Alix is so violent I s2g, this is like the second time already she’s implied she really wants to beat someone up and it won’t be the last time
oh and she’s not 100% oblivious that Kim’s into her. (I know she tells him later on that she was, she’s lying to make him feel better.) she’s just very much in denial and decides to not notice bc she doesn’t want it to be true, which is like, a decent aro mood tbh
okay chapter food fight (15!)
you know what, the awkwardness between Kim and Adrien now is also giving me an allergic reaction, just TALK to each other you idiots oh my god
Kim and Marinette treat each other like cousins in this fic, idk how else to describe it really, I was going for “childhood friends” but they really have a cousin kinda dynamic
IVAN IS AN ABSOLUTE LEGEND FOR INDULGING IN THE ACCIDENTAL FOOD FIGHT and so is Chloe actually, huh
Alix just. slam dunks Nath into a vat of milk. I can’t with this fic
Typo-correcting-time!! It’s not Mr Damocles, it’s DUKE Damocles jeez Aish get it right
also whomst the heck snitched on poor Kim and got him into trouble??
OKAY SO. later on in the fic, I often mention that one monopoly match that ended up in a brawl, but I never bothered to write the match itself because I forgot it was supposed to be a plot point in the timelines thing. here in this chapter is the first time it’s mentioned. should I... go back and write it in properly? idk help
awwwww this is the first point that actually feels proper Kimax-y, they’re having a moment together at the fountain and omg it’s so cute
lol this bit where spider-destroyer Alix has to threaten Kim to put her back down is like the exact opposite of way later on when they’re playing the floor is lava and she cheats by sitting on his shoulder and he tries to annoy her into going away
also KIM I’M KINKSHAMING, YES, THE SCALIE MERMAID HASN’T EVEN SHOWN UP YET AND I’M STILL KINKSHAMING, HAVING A CUTE GIRL PLUCK OUT YOUR EYEBALLS IS NOT HOT
phew that’s enough I’m dying
