My piece for FTH this year for @bluejayblueskies ! this was so fun to do :)

silt verses wips, some will get finished and some wont :p which is which?? who knows !!! not me !!!!
1) thurrocks and faulkner on their quest to the endless drear, with jasp, tapper and wallace in the background (or at least thats the idea). most of my time on this one has been spent adjusting values on the hills in the background, and its absolutely too vibrant and green for how i imagine the scene lol theyre also really shitty hills if you look at them for less than a second so. dont do that please LMAO
2) faulkner in his katabasian garb, sat in a river for to maximise his solo slay. this one is kinda old atp but the design hasnt changed much. ive mentioned the open-mouthed epaulettes referencing the mouth delivering/returning before, but the green uhhh idk thing is dried and woven seaweed :) the rest of the robes will be more decorated with abstract woven patterns and embroidery if i ever start working on this one again
3) now THIS is the relgious faulkner that was giving me brain damage a couple days ago, that ive since realized wont be fixed with the ideas a couple people offered because of the perspectice. its pretty obviously mimicking a guillaume dufube sketch intended for a ceiling that i absolutely love. the parts ive produced, im really happy with, but i cant work out the composition fully so its gonna be abandoned at least for a while. not to mention the absolute misplacement of a sky motif. its one of those paintings i wish i had thicker/oil paint or gouache style brushes on medibang for
4) my mercer design!! heavily inspired by paleoart from various sources. everything she and gage have is organic, except a very few, like her sheath (oblong metal with a leather "cap" around the tip of the blade, a real ancient design i found references for on google) and her rifle. the original image also features gage playing their flute while squatting, but both of those things are hard poses to draw and hard to find refereces for, and im not willing to put in THAT much effort god lord i draw for FUN if its hard im giving up baby
5&6) snare dog!!!! i love these silly guys but i dont like this design, its too wolfish and i imagine them sorta borzoi/greyhound aligned. i also dont like the way the face opens, since i imagine that as more of a twist. i do like the flopping tongue though and i liked the half assed rendering

do u have a like body sheet for their body types? cuz u said u used to draw them inaccurate so what r their "accurate" bodys? :3
I DONTTT RN BUT I CAN DESCRIBE THEM IN THE MEAN TIME.. I'll make sure to post their body sheets when I make them
Cookie is 5'6. She's slim and not very thick but not super flat at the same time. She has a thigh gap and pretty small hands.
Jasper is 6'3. He has a wide ribcage and a bit of a chubby belly, but he's more wide than chubby, if that makes sense.
Fae is 5'8, she is fat and has a pretty big chest, she's also always been pretty tall for her age until she stopped growing at 5'8
Raven is 5'10. She's slim, she has bat wings (excess fat on her upper arms), saggy boobs and a bit of a poochy belly.
Vivian is 5'3. She is very round and has a very small chest.
Matisse (Jasp and Viv's dad) doesn't have a set height yet, but he is around 5'8 to 5'10. He is pretty round as well.
Lucia (the mom) is very tall and I guess busty with a pudgy belly. Like really tall for a woman. 6'3. Jasper's height
Also I'd like to add that these aren't supposed to be the only characters... I just take story development and character creation at my own pace as to not stress myself out 😭

i’m going through my old art and i’m just so proud of a lot of it so here’s some garden of yerlick art from 2021! gonna keep sharing some older work cause a lot of it is actually so fun. like look at that breastplate?! the reflections? idk if i could do that now lol

It's only fair, after all of the hard work that Henry does in a day, that he deserves to sleep. Jasper doesn't even mind that he's chosen to pass out with his head in his lap. He lay down about a half hour ago when he came into the Man Cave, and told him he wasn't going to sleep, he just had a sore head and needed to rest his eyes.
He's been dropping in and out since then. He keeps mumbling that he's awake and tells Jasper to pick up the conversation where he dropped it when he noticed his eyelids going.
'Why don't you just go home?' Jasper asks. 'You know, to get some real sleep? In your bed?'
Henry scrunches up his face and shakes his head. He reaches up like he's trying to literally swat him away but instead just sort of ends up... caressing his face.
'No, no... 'm fine,' he murmurs. His thumb somehow ends up on Jasper's bottom lip. 'I'm just... resting. What... what were you saying? The, uh... the thing... about the thing...'
To his credit, he tries to keep his eyes open. His hand flops onto his forehead with a thlup. He groans quietly.
Jasper chuckles and gently moves his hand from his forehead to his chest. 'You're so cute when you're half asleep like this.' He doesn't let go of his hand, smoothing each of his fingers out at the knuckles. 'Actually, you're always cute. But especially like this.'
It's probably a good thing there's no one else here to hear this. Charlotte's looking after the shop up above for him on his break, Ray is sleeping off the day's work in his room, and Schwoz is taking his sister back to the airport.
There's no one else here. Henry's probably way too tired to actually take in anything being said to him right now. It's probably like a vivid dream.
Even so, Henry smiles sleepily, his brows furrowing as he murmurs, 'You think I'm cute?'
Jasper nods. 'Of course I do. You're adorable.'
It's not like he doesn't say it at least five times a day. It's still worth it to see his reaction, the way he sort of rolls his head toward Jasper and spreads his fingers between his own.
Jasper closes his fingers to be properly holding his hand. It draws a slight murmur out of Henry, as well as that sleepy smile once again.
'Do you remember when we weren't, you know?' He lightly motions their hands. 'Like this?'
Henry's eyebrows do their little dance again. 'Secret superheroes?'
'No,' Jasper says. 'Like this. You and me. Together.'
'Oh,' Henry murmurs, then shakes his head. 'Not really. It always just felt like...' he takes a deep sigh and shrugs lazily, '...we were more than friends. You know?'
'Yeah, I think I do,' Jasper agrees sincerely. 'You know, I remember practising how to ask you out in the mirror.'
Henry laughs lightly and, finally, his eyes flutter back open to look up at him, waking up a little. 'Seriously?'
'Mhm. When we were... thirteen. Then you started talking about Kid Danger all the time, and I started to think you had a crush on him, so I kind of backed away.'
'Oh.' Henry reaches up and purposefully finds his face this time, stroking his cheek fondly, his gaze half-lidded. 'You're so cute. For the record, I'd definitely pick you over Kid Danger.'
Jasper smiles then stops. 'Wait, but you're Kid Danger.'
'Exactly,' Henry says. 'I'd still pick you, Jasp. Always.'
He's still a little bit confused, but he chalks it down to Henry's exhausted state for his slight incoherence. He kisses his forehead, making him go cross-eyed.
'You're a dork,' he tells him fondly.

This was in 2013
Back in 2013 I was still in my denial phase. See when I was a kid, being gay was just an extremely common insult & any gay representing I saw in media was usually just "gay people are so fucking weird haha" & I was....
I was very insistent that I was straight. Like because I was conditioned to associate being gay as being a loser who gets bullied.
I wish I had watched this show back in the day.
I really did need a wake up call at that age.
But from what I see, this show clearly helped a lot of queer folk during a time where gay people weren't exactly being given the best treatment.
Not that we aren't targeted today but it was definitely way less common to see Lgbtq+ stuff in mainstream media. And I'm so glad that this show helped so many of you.
I think if I had watched this show back then, maybe 13 year old Daniel might have made better choices. But I'm glad I saw it now.
Okay let's just get it out of the way.

Also from now on, every episode, I will do a drawing to add to the post. This will make posts slower but I think it'll be fun. And it'll help me with my art block struggles

11 - I’m so big on cool colors, I love some blues and sea greens and purples~
23 - This seemed like a good time to tease a little bit of a vampire and wolf fic I have stashed away, so here's Jasp (what is this style he shares with Lou? Hawaiian shirt goth? I like it)
And a little tidbit of the fic
He’s not much one for a drink but occasionally the mood strikes him. Something about the atmosphere of this particular club, one that is a popular spot for those of his sort. Somehow this makes things more comfortable and a little more threatening all at the same time, the air crackling and thick with magic, disguised beasts like himself, and many other things mystic and plain old not-so-normal in nature.
The lights low, the music hypnotic, the taste of the drink sharp and burning on his tongue, the low-grade rumble of many voices conversing and dancing, it all mixes and dissolves into a peculiar atmosphere that somehow welcomes him. It’s a sweet and tangy perfume that lends a very particular feel to this place.
But there’s one thing…
He’s felt eyes on him all night, though the attention doesn’t feel threatening, merely a slight nag at the edge of his peripheral. A feeling that he can’t shake, though doesn’t weigh too heavily. All the same…
After a time, he finally turns and meets the stare of the one who’s been watching him.
Eyes the color of a stormy sea regard him without shame for being caught, the only thing allowing David to tell the actual color is the eerie vibrancy of the eyes of a nonhuman when they catch the light just right. The man is practically lounged in the booth like he owns the place, one arm slung over the back of the seat, a drink in his hand, a peculiar look in his gaze.
David can spot a vampire from a mile away, and this is certainly one of them. He doesn’t look aggressive though, and David still doesn’t feel any malice in the air. He holds the man’s stare for a long moment, as if to ask what he wants.
Finally, a grin splits the man’s face and David catches a flash of fangs. His head tilts as if to invite him over, eyebrows quirking.
David ponders, it’s obvious this man wants something from him, and even though he doesn’t sense any ill intent from the vampire, he still can’t help but be wary. He hums to himself for a pause before coming to a decision. He stands from his seat and starts walking towards the vampire’s table, seeing those eyes light up in a different way as he takes a sip of his drink and sets it down, leaning forward as he approaches.
When David comes to stand before the table, the vampire offers him a charming smile. “Would you care to join me?” he offers.
David watches him for a long moment before sitting down. “Why have you been watching me?” he asks, not aggressively, but not exactly friendly either. A careful medium until he gets a better picture of this stranger.
“Can you blame a man for wanting to soak in the most beautiful creature in this place?” the vampire croons, leaning his cheek on one hand and grinning wide, a little pleased, as David lets out a bark of laughter.
“Oh, that was corny, have you been waiting all night to use that?” David teases, his caution quickly lost without him even realizing.
“Only since I saw you,” the man replies cheekily. “Jasper,” he introduces, holding a hand out.
He hesitates, but this man doesn’t seem too dangerous. “David,” he replies, reciprocating.
Jasper gently takes his hand when offered and leans forward to place a kiss on David’s knuckles, light and chaste, his grip easily allowing for the contact to be broken should he wish. “Charmed,” he says softly, his grin lopsided, playful, but still sincere.
The tension already broken by the good laugh, David finds himself smiling back easily. “Likewise,” he admits, because it’s true. This man is charming, in a goofy way. But David likes goofy. He’d been so wary only to be put at ease so smoothly by one corny line and a smile. The kiss on the hand was just the icing on the cake.
