Oh. My. Gosh!!!!! Look at what I just found right here:

Here, as you can see, Jeff Stinco is listed on the website called OnThisDay.com, where they have listed him under the August 22, 1978 section underneath "Famous Birthdays".

Sometimes between 2018 or 2019, On This Day listed James Corden next to Jeff Stinco, who is still in the "Famous Birthdays" section for August 22, 1978, and I am supposed to be okay with that? This is not right at all.

Here are the people born on August 22, 1975. Jeff Stinco isn't even listed here, for crying out loud!

Here, they made Jeff's name go up in terms of popularity between him and James Corden. At least they knew something they didn't know about. But they still went ahead and made his year of birth/age incorrect!

Here is a full length version of famous people who were born in August 1975, and Jeff Stinco is not even listed on there, he's listed on the August 1978 section instead! What the firetruck?????

This isn't even funny. This isn't even that funny. This is not funny at all! Is On This Day joking? Do these people know that this is a game? I'm really angry about this. They literally put Jeff Stinco and James Corden right next to each other on the August 22, 1978 section on their website. You can't just put this iconic pop punk king next to some loser who does carpool karaokes for a living on his talk show and who can't act to save his life like that! That's not how it works around here, On This Day!

Here, in the world of Jeff Stinco, you have to at least fucking try to get his year of birth and his age correctly right. 1978 is not the year he was born in!

Jeff Stinco was born in 1975, meaning that he was born around the same time as Charlize Theron (who was born sixteen days before Jeff) and Rodrigo Santoro!

He was not born around the same time as James Corden and Kobe Bryant!

Jeff Stinco and James Corden don't even belong together, and I wouldn't want to believe that a beautiful angelic man like Jeff, would be born around the same time as some slimy slimeball talk show host!

Now what if I changed every single website and told everybody that Jeff Stinco was born in 1975 and that he should've been a Grammy winner, a Oscar winner, a Emmy winner, and also even a Tony winner, to make him become a EGOT at 47 years old?

Now that is some comedy gold right there.

It's way better than just putting Jeff's name up with people like James Corden, Kobe Bryant, Jess Margera, Kel Mitchell, Amber Brkich, and Countess Vaughn, and then claiming that he was born on August 1978, just like them, but he is not.

Holy Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Girmante Vaikute, I am so angry right now. I am so angry at these people and these websites not knowing who Jeff Stinco is and what year he was born in.

If James Corden ever starts doing a carpool karaoke episode with Jeff Stinco when he finally comes back to singing again on his talk show, I will lose my shit at this and there will be h-e-double hockey sticks to pay.

How dare you compare Jeff to that loser who is not a good actor, who is not a good comedian, his jokes are not even that funny, and oh, should I say this, he is terrible to his fans too, may I should say it again for once though?

I got anger management issues about three different things all at once: Jeff Stinco's year of birth and his age not being right by people, images and videos of Britney Spears attending the premiere of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood still being there on her name to this very exact day, and men with beards having no more than over 100,000 tweets to their names on Twitter and they are the ones who are child sex predators who does bad things to children. Those are the real things I am disgruntled about.

You're in a world into not being a Stinc Icon, On This Day. Screw your "accuracies" if you can't get Jeff's age right!

Make Jeff Stinco a singer again, On This Day. You'll get it right soon, you know? And he will get his singing career back and live his life in peace, thank you very much for reading this and goodbye ;)

16 Awesome Queer Sports Books: Books with LGBTQIA+ Athlete Representation

In some ways, the last few years has been a golden time for LGBTQIA+ athletes. The 2019 Women’s World Cup was a record tournament for LGBTQ+ visibility, with at least five players on the U.S. women’s national soccer team being openly queer (Ali Krieger and her now-wife Ashlyn Harris, Megan Rapinoe, A.D. Franch, and Tierna Davidson), as well as coach Jill Ellis, and another player coming out in the moment captured in the photo above, kissing her girlfriend in celebration. Rapinoe’s girlfriend, Sue Bird, another out lesbian athlete who plays in the WNBA, wrote an open letter to the President of the United States. A blockbuster movie told the story of iconic out lesbian tennis star Billie Jean King. Jason Paul Collins came out in 2013 (but retired the following year). Michael Sam was the first openly gay man to be drafted into the NFL in 2014 (but he has since retired).

But, according to the Human Rights Campaign, 70% of LGBTQIA+ people don’t come out to their teammates while still playing a sport, and 82% of athletes have witnessed homophobic and/or transphobic language in their sport. It is still more common, especially for male athletes, to come out after they have already left their sport (TW for homophobic slurs/statements and suicidal ideation), and many athletes who are still playing face backlash (TW for misgendering & general transphobia).

These books, from memoirs by professional queer athletes to YA romances with LGBTQIA+ athlete protagonists, explore these issues and more.

Spinning, by Tillie Walden (graphic memoir)

This beautiful graphic novel memoir captures Tillie’s experience with figure skating and why she eventually decided to give it up. Full review here.

Girl Crushed, by Katie Heaney

Quinn thought her senior year would be perfect: college scouts recruiting her to her dream school for D1 soccer and her best-friend-turned-girlfriend at her side. But then Jamie dumps her, a month before the school year begins, and it’s getting a little late to have heard back from schools, if she’s going to end up on one of the top teams. Over the course of the school year, Quinn learns that her binary black-and-white, gay-and-straight, success-and-failure ways of seeing her world could stand to be a little more complicated. This book is about identity, self-esteem, friendship, crushes, and soccer. There are also many fun USWNT references! TW for some (challenged) bisexual erasure.

The Reappearing Act: Coming Out on a College Basketball Team Led by Born-Again Christians, by Kate Fagan (adult memoir)

Kate was thrilled to be playing basketball for a nationally-ranked school and to have a close-knit group of teammates. Her best friends were part of Colorado’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and she tried to join them and learn about their church, but she started to realize that she might be one of those people whose “sinful lifestyles” they talked about. She had to figure out how to come out without losing her friends, and her team.

Check, Please! Volume 1, by Ngozi Ukazu (graphic novel)

This adorable graphic novel (which was originally published as a popular webcomic) follows Bitty, a former junior figure skating champion and enthusiastic baker, who somehow ended up on the Samwell University hockey team. He’s terrified of checking (what if he gets hurt??), trying to figure out if he can win over the guys with pies, and also feeling some kind of way about the hot but grumpy captain.

Keeper of the Dawn, by Dianna Gunn

Lai wants to become a priestess, like her mother and grandmother were before her, but first she must prove herself in the trials she’s been training for her whole life. Nothing goes according to plan, but she can still depend on herself and her skill as a fighter and a horseback rider and take matters into her own hands. This fantasy novel features an asexual protagonist and a f/f romance.

The Passing Playbook, by Isaac Fitzsimmons (2020/2021 release)

This book hasn’t been released yet, but there are so few (if any) own voices YA sports books with trans characters that I decided to include it anyway. A queer, biracial, trans soccer player is benched, and has to decide whether to fight the ruling, even though that would mean coming out to everyone…including the Christian teammate he’s falling for.

Running with Lions, by Julian Winters

This coming-of-age novel follows Sebastian, a bisexual rising senior who’s excited for his last summer at soccer camp, where his teammates are great and the coach doesn’t expect anyone to stay in the closet. But then Emir Shah, a Muslim British-Pakistani new recruit, shows up. He also happens to be Sebastian’s former best friend, and they left things on pretty bad terms. So why is he finding himself attracted to Emir all of the sudden?

None of the Above, by I.W. Gregorio

I am hesitant to recommend this non-ownvoices intersex representation, but it’s the only book I know of about an intersex teen athlete, and, while it is imperfect and seems geared towards a non-intersex audience, there are certainly some good things to be said about it. It is informative, well-researched, and moving. Kristin, a homecoming queen and champion hurdler with a cute boyfriend, seems to be having a great high school experience. But a doctor’s visit reveals that she’s intersex, and, while she’s still coming to terms with what that might mean for her and her identity, her diagnosis is leaked to the whole school. TW for transphobic/anti-intersex slurs and bullying.

Forward: My Story, Young Readers’ Edition, by Abby Wambach (memoir)

U.S. Women’s National Team soccer star Abby Wambach tells her story with honesty and vulnerability, sharing how she came to lead her team to a World Cup win in 2015. She is open about her sexuality and romantic life (including a named mention of a certain pink-haired teammate, who also happens to be her ex-girlfriend) and how it affected her career.

We Ride Upon Sticks, by Quan Barry (adult fiction, with teen protagonists)

The 1989 Danvers high field hockey team finds themselves winning…a lot. Is it because they all wrote their names in a mysterious notebook with Emilio Estevez on the cover, and pledged themselves to dark forces so they could make the state championships? This darkly funny story explores friendship, sportsmanship, and what means to find power and sense of self as a teen girl.

Beautiful on the Outside, by Adam Rippon (adult non-fiction)

In his comedic memoir, Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon shares his journey from poverty and uncertainty to success and becoming a self-professed American sweetheart. He opens up about anxiety attacks, coming to terms with his sexuality and coming out, and some enjoyable behind-the-scenes gossip. He also narrates the audiobook.

Ana on the Edge, by A.J. Sass (middle-grade, fall 2020 release)

Twelve-year-old Ana-Marie is the reigning U.S. Juvenile figure skating champion, but that doesn’t mean everything feels easy or figured out. When Ana meets Hayden, a transgender boy, at the rink, Hayden mistakes Ana for a boy…and Ana doesn’t bother to correct him. In fact, it feels good to be seen as a boy. Now Ana must decide which identity feels the most right, in time for a big competition coming up. This book isn’t out yet, but it’s due to be released in fall 2020, and it is written by a non-binary (and autistic) author, who is also a figure skater.

Heartstopper, Volume 1, by Alice Oseman (graphic novel)

Charlie is neurotic and openly gay (after he was outed last year and bullied for months), and hoping that Year 10 at the British all-boys grammar school will be better. He meets Nick, an upbeat, sweet rugby player, and they become friends. Soon he finds himself hoping that their friendship turns into something more.

Fearless: Portraits of LGBT Student Athletes, by Jeff Sheng (non-fiction)

This is a memoir of an American artist who uses his story as a closeted high school athlete in the 1990s as a jumping-off-point to depict hundreds of photos of other LGBTQ+ high school and college athletes in the U.S. and Canada between 2003 and 2015.

Amateur, by Thomas McBee (adult memoir/non-fiction)

In this memoir, Thomas McBee describes grappling with the meaning of masculinity, violence, and sports. As a trans man, he has noticed since his transition that the world treats him completely differently and expects different things from him. But what does he want, and how does he want to define masculinity and strength for himself? He decides to train for a charity boxing match at Madison Square Garden as a way to find out.

Dryland, by Sara Jaffe

Julie is a cynical teen in Portland at the height of the grunge movement, struggling to define herself and her sexuality. No one in her family is willing to talk about her older brother, who at one point seemed destined for the Olympics but then fell off the map. Julie has never considered swimming herself, but then the swim team captain convinces her to join. Is this what she’s been looking for -- a way to get closer to her brother and maybe herself?

I like a lot of deep house and electro house, so most of my picks here are within either or both of those subgenres (as well as progressive house, in deadmau5′s case).

Daft Punk, Discovery (2001)

Accept no substitutes. For Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo and Thomas Bangalter, making quality tunes seems to just be second nature. Their second album replaces the underground, city-street feel of Homework with a shiny, discotheque-ready sound that stands on the shoulders of giants but does so as a means of updating and widening the reach of their own influences (with “Harder Better Faster Stronger”’s use of “Cola Bottle Baby” as a perfect example thereof). My favorite track on the record, “Digital Love,” perhaps only barely qualifies as house, but between the earnestness of the vocoded lyrics and the heart-stopper of a guitar solo, I don’t even mind – who cares about genre conventions when you’re a smitten robot? It’s utterly brilliant and its era exists as the gold standard for many DP fans, myself included among them.

Kaskade, Fire and Ice (2011)

Ryan Raddon’s seventh album and the one I hold the most nostalgia for. An ambitious effort on Kaskade’s part, Fire and Ice is a double album, with original tracks on one side and remixed, chilled-out versions of the same songs on the other (geddit?). The ICE mixes are something of a mixed bag, with some having more reason to exist than others, but the Fire side of the album earns it a place here on its own, with Skrillex and Raddon giving us their own brilliant take on a classic track from Guy Manuel de Homem Christo on “Lick It,” as well as the smooth vibes of Ryan’s collaboration with his band Late Night Alumni and Inpetto on “How Long.” Another standout track: “ICE,” a big, bumping jam Ryan made with Dan Black and Dada Life.

deadmau5, For Lack of a Better Name (2009) and 4x4=12 (2010)

Oh, Joel. These days he’s earned a controversial status as full-time internet troll alongside his career as a musician, but he’s still had a palpable impact on the industry at large (pop juggernaut Marshmello more or less owes his entire career to the allure of the man in the cute mask, and while Daft Punk did it first, Mello’s own interpretation is particularly and explicitly influenced by the way deadmau5 did it). These two albums dropped when I was twelve/thirteen and still opening my eyes to the wide world of electronica, and I think they’re particularly significant as the point where I went from being a casual fan of it to a devotee, sparking an investment in the Scene® that I still have to this day. The degree of control Joel flexes over his work at its peak was unprecedented for the time and still holds up now – “Strobe,” the album closer on For Lack Of, is particularly notable in how it makes ten minutes feel like no time at all in how it builds and shifts with just a few simple, powerful elements in play at a time. “Ghosts ‘n Stuff” earned Joel and vocalist Rob Swire a crossover hit, and “Raise Your Weapon” stands as an early illustration of what the North American take on dubstep would sound like in the years to come.

Phantoms, Phantoms (2017)

Kyle Kaplan and Vinnie Pergola’s debut record is a clever mission statement for their work. Their deep house tunes are infused with pop sensibilities, placing them in company with contemporaries like Jamie xx and Disclosure as house DJs making an effort to bridge the gap between the radio airwaves and the dance floor. My favorites include “Just a Feeling” with Verite, a modody track called “Downtown,” and the utterly brilliant “Need You Closer,” a collab with Hayley Kiyoko that easily converted me into the Church of Lesbian Jesus. (Their recent work is also worth a nod as well – they’ve been building up singles to drum up interest in a new EP, including one of their best tracks to date, a driving progressive house tune called “Designs for You.”)

Justice, † (2007)

Gaspard Auge and Xavier de Rosnay’s debut record remains their best. There’s so many iconic tracks on this one: The slick vibes of “Genesis” and “Newjack,” the ever crowd-pleasing “D.A.N.C.E.,” the pumping “Phantom” and its sequel, the nu-disco sleaze of “DVNO”, and the ear-splitting delight of “Waters of Nazareth.” The record earned them a positive, if daunting, comparison to fellow French house pioneers Daft Punk, and while their work on it shares an obsession with taking diverse samples and reconfiguring them into their own image, Justice’s fascination with the macabre aesthetic of 70′s horror films and the rock ‘n roll ethos of T. Rex earned them a distinct spot in the pantheon of electronic acts with this record (as well as its followup, the different-but-still-great Audio, Video, Disco).

Feed Me - Feed Me’s Big Adventure (2011) and Calamari Tuesday (2013)

Jon Gooch was one of the earliest musicians to emerge under deadmau5′s mau5trap label, and still shines as one of its leading acts today (High Street Creeps, released earlier this year, has jams for days). While he started his career making drum ‘n bass tracks as Spor, the bulk of his work since 2009 has been under the Feed Me alias, where he’s dabbled in all manner of electronic but mostly hews close to the realm of electro house. Gooch’s experience in making complex tunes meant that Feed Me came out swinging, with tracks like “Grand Theft Ecstasy” and “Muscle Rollers” exhibiting a confidence and technical skill from the outset that most producers would kill for on their first record. By the time his first proper full length released two years later, he’d developed a consistent feel that made collaborations with indie bands (”Love Is All I Got,” with Crystal Fighters) and soulful singers (”Last Requests,” with Jenna G) feel as natural as hard-hitting bangers (”No Grip” and “Death by Robot”). Mix in a little bit of both and you get “Ophelia,” a anthemic ballad made with YADi – my favorite song from the record, and a earworm that still sticks with me six years on. Love, don’t let me drown…

and some honorable mentions!

Lazy Rich’s singles! Richard Billis is a Canadian DJ who retired from producing tunes in 2017, but for the decade or so he was releasing music, the electro house singles he released were nothing short of iconic. Songs like “Blast Off” (with Hirshee and Lizzie Curious) and “Flash” (with Hot Mouth) are energetic, breezy and danceable. There’s nothing quite like a good Lazy Rich drop; his beats hit the dance floor with the weight of a truck, and have a sonic diversity among them that would predict the electronic scene’s shift toward the dynamism of future bass. It makes me sad that we won’t get any more of them, but Billis left behind such an evergreen catalog of singles that it’s hard to be down for very long. (I used to use his remix of Zedd’s “Stars Come Out” as a theme song of sorts on an old website where you could be a DJ with your friends. The fond memories are strong with this one.)

Porter Robinson/Virtual Self – Spitfire (2011) and Virtual Self (2017) – Leave it to Porter Robinson to carve out a completely separate musical persona just to hearken back to his halcyon days as a young producer. My initial introduction to him was just after he’d emerged from the hands-up scene, while he had his eyes set on stardom through what he called “complextro,” and it was surprising to find that his work not only lived up to its genre classification but actively carved out a market for its sound, even before Porter had dropped an album. If the dubstep and house feel of Spitfire was a revelation, the DDR vibes of the Virtual Self EP are a revitalization; similar in ethos, but with an owned, Serial Experiments Lain-styled technological aesthetic. Porter does a lot of work to keep the two projects separate (even going as far as to delineate live shows between the aliases), but rather than fragmenting his work the distinction only ends up strengthening his catalog, in much the same way Jon Gooch’s work as Feed Me complements his earlier collection as Spor.

JOYRYDE’s singles and upcoming album - John Ford Jr. is an English DJ who knows what he likes: fast cars, bumping house beats, mean-muggin’ rap jams, and making tunes that blend all of the above in one way or another. His JOYRYDE project is only a few years old, emerging in 2016, but it’s very much the culmination of years of diggin’ in the crates and building a sound that blends the hip-hop influences of trap with the boogie-bounce sensibility of house. No sooner is this evident than the “parental discretion is advised” warning (and subsequent punchy opening bars) that welcomes you into “HOT DRUM,” though his other tracks (including “MAXIMUM KING” and the Rick Ross-assisted “WINDOWS”) share that kinetic energy. He’s one to watch!

Favorites : Enemy of the State (1998)

It’s no secret that I have a special place in my heart for almost anything produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, short of the era beginning with and following the Transformers series. Nearly everything he put his money behind in the 1990s, however, resonates on both the entertainment and sociological levels, as well as more than often tip-toeing the line of high art. If someone forced me to expound on this statement, I believe that exhibit A would be Enemy of the State.

NSA official Thomas Bryan Reynolds (Jon Voight) meets with U.S. Congressman Phil Hammersley (Jason Robards) in hopes of pushing forward legislation that will allow the NSA more access to surveillance in every aspect, be it foreign or domestic, friend or foe. When Hammersley declines to offer support, he is killed by David Pratt (Barry Pepper), Reynolds’ right hand man. Unbeknownst to Reynolds, however, amateur birdwatcher Daniel Zavitz (Jason Lee) has a motion-sensitive camera at that location to capture ducks and geese, and the camera captures the crime. As Zavitz attempts to get the tapes to the media, Reynolds and his NSA cohorts exact all of their powers to stop the information from going public. Zavitz, while on the run from his pursuers, runs into Robert Clayton Dean (Will Smith), a labor lawyer and old college friend, and he takes the opportunity to stash the recording on Dean without him knowing, only to end up dead moments later at the end of the chase. Dean is shaken by the encounter, and his alerts go up when agents Krug (Jake Busey) and Jones (Scott Caan) show up at his door with odd questions. Dean contacts his information leak (and former lover) Rachel Banks (Lisa Bonet) in hopes of understanding what is going on, but the contact throws Dean’s life into upheaval, putting him in direct contact with Rachel’s information contact Brill (Gene Hackman) in hopes of understanding what is happening to him. Once the duo discover the footage they hold, they turn the cat and mouse game on its head in hopes of blowing the entire scandal wide open, and dismantling the NSA’s plans from the inside.

The elephant in the room, clearly, is how on the nose this film was in terms of post-9/11 society, and how it’s shaped information and surveillance technology. This film is just over two decades old, but the levels of technology implemented in the film, from old school bugs to satellite tracking, are all commonplace and accepted as fact. The levels of surveillance depicted, be it criminal surveillance of mobsters, casual surveillance for hobbyists, intrusion and takeover of radio and TV signals, or even the government need to monitor and assess potential threats are deep and far-reaching, and all heavily prevalent in our modern society all across the world. While some aspects were slightly exaggerated to serve expositional purposes, the lion’s share of the technology and knowledge present in the film is based on hard truth and documented facts.

Where the genius of this film iles is in its unstated connection to the 1974 eavesdropping film The Conversation, starring Gene Hackman as surveillance technician Harry Call, a private operator with a dark history in regards to government connections to his work and the lives that it cost. It is never outright stated in Enemy of the State that Hackman is reprising the role, but there are plenty of subtle, rhythmic echoes that give the connection validity. The obvious, nail in the coffin evidence would be the scene where Robert Dean and Rachel Banks meet in the park to discuss what is happening to Dean, as it is almost identical to the infamous opening sequence of The Conversation... the only thing that really sets the two apart is the absence of Robert Shields, the famous mime and New York icon at the time. Brill’s version of a Faraday Cage that he has affectionately dubbed ‘The Jar’ plays like an extremely condensed version of his former warehouse home. Even the way that Brill and Dean force signals into homes in the final third of the film mirror the closing moments of The Conversation, where Harry Call realizes his home is not as secure as he imagined.

Movies like this, in retrospect, helped me understand what color-timing could do for a film, as the very heavy presence of a blue hue gives the film a sense of dread without a word ever being spoken. The hue also offsets the warmer moments in the Dean home, as well as the heavy presence of monitors, computer screens and data. The casting department was batting 1.000 for this production, as every level of role needed was perfect, be it star power that connected on screen, a slew of supporting roles cast by future stars in their own rights, or even a handful of amazing uncredited roles by high profile actors who deserved co-starring or special guest credits. The production design and special effects also help enhance the scale and feel of the movie, as the level of styles used to keep tabs on Dean range from large to small scale, the presence of helicopters adds to the paranoia, and the gunfight at the end releases two hours of ever-increasing tension.

On the starring level, the chemistry between Will Smith and Gene Hackman is surprisingly electric, while Jon Voight brings solid bad guy energy to the table. The supporting spread is diverse, and everyone is hitting their marks effortlessly... Lisa Bonet and Regina King portray completely different shades of desirable, intelligent and driven women. Barry Pepper, Jake Busey and Scott Caan bring a sense of duty and danger to their roles as the hired muscle. Having Jack Black, Jamie Kennedy and Seth Green run around together is a stroke of luck and genius. An early appearance by Anna Gunn helps bring a humanity to Voight not present in his NSA scenes. Jason Lee gets to spread his wings just a bit, showing some action chops while reeling in his comedic prowess, all of which help us buy into the story. Uncredited appearances by Gabriel Byrne, Jason Robards, Tom Sizemore and Philip Baker Hall, as well as a ton of other character actors, fill out the remainder of the world.

This movie was always a favorite of mine, but it has really and truly come to hold a special place in my heart due to the sheer prowess of the cast, the way it has grown both dated and eerily correct about the changing times, and its connection to The Conversation. Other Bruckheimer-connected properties may have gone on to greater critical acclaim and box-office success, but for my money’s worth, this one will always be held in the highest regard.

Disney's Lady & The Tramp Cast Guide & Original Movie Comparison

Here's how new live-action Lady and the Tramp characters compare to the original and what the cast looks like in real life. One of Disney's best-loved musicals, Lady and the Tramp was originally released in 1955 and followed the budding romance between the upper-class Cocker Spaniel, Lady, and the mixed breed stray dog, Tramp. It's perhaps best remembered for the iconic scene where the two dogs share a plate of spaghetti, but the animated movie itself feels dated and tired in many ways.

Now, Lady and the Tramp has received an overhaul in the form of a live-action remake. Directed by Charlie Bean (The LEGO Ninjago Movie), Lady and the Tramp will be the first Disney live-action remake to not have a theatrical release. Instead, it will arrive on Disney+ streaming platform on November 12th, 2019.

The first trailer for Lady and the Tramp, released at D23, released a first look at both the canine and the human characters. While most are recognizable, there are some changes to the original character list. Here's the full breakdown of the character changes and who's voicing who.

Tessa Thompson is Lady

An adorable American Cocker Spaniel, the puppy Lady is gifted to Darling from her husband, Jim Dear. She is part of a wealthy, privileged household and fits all definitions of a pampered pooch. She struggles with the arrival of the Dear's new baby, and the way Aunt Sarah treats her when she comes to stay.

Lady is voiced by Tessa Thompson, best known for Thor: Ragnarok, Creed and Westworld. Unlike the Disney "live-action" remakes of The Jungle Book and The Lion King from Jon Favreau, Lady and the Tramp uses real animals, with Lady is played by a dog named Rose, who is the spitting image of the animated version.

Justin Theroux is Tramp

Tramp is a neighborhood stray, who boldly says he enjoys his nomadic lifestyle. However, like other strays, he lives in constant fear of the dog catcher and being taken to the pound. He meets and falls in love with Lady, and delights in showing her life in the city.

Tramp is voiced by Justin Theroux, best known The Leftovers, Mullholland Drive and The Girl On The Train, and portrayed on-screen by Monte, a rescue dog. While Lady looks more or less identical to her animated counterpart, Tramp does look different, although that's only to be expected since Tramp isn't a thoroughbred.

Sam Elliot is Trusty

Trusty is a faithful old Bloodhound living next door to Lady. He takes Lady under his wing, explaining to her what a baby is when he figures Darling is pregnant. He is also instrumental in rescuing Tramp from the dog-catcher. Trusty looks much as he did in the original movie, and is voiced by Sam Elliot (A Star Is Born).

Janelle Monaé is Peg

Peg is a stray Pekingese, named after and originally voiced by Peggy Lee. In the new live-action version, she is voiced by Janelle Monaé, who also performs on the soundtrack. In the original animated movie, Lee also voiced Si and Am, Aunt Sarah's Siamese cats. It's not yet clear whether Monaé will also voice these since the characters are being reworked and their song rewritten owing to its racist connotations.

Ashley Jensen is Jock

The character of Jock is the biggest change from the original animated movie. Originally the character was a male Scottish Terrier who also lived in the neighborhood with Lady and Trusty. In the 2019 movie, Ashley Jensen (best known for her work with Ricky Gervais on Extras and After Life) voices the character. Although at first it was reported the gender-swapped character had been renamed Jackie, it appears the dog is still called Jock.

Benedict Wong is Bull

Bull is a Bulldog who lives in the pound. He was not a large role in the original movie, but will play a bigger part this time around. He is voiced by Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange, Avengers: Endgame).

Kiersey Clemons is Darling

In the original movie, not much is seen of the humans. In fact, Darling is mostly shown in profile, or just her legs. It's still unclear if Darling is her real name, or if it's the name Lady decides she must have, since Jim always calls her that. Darling is very much loved by Lady, and when she has her baby, Lady is wary at first but soon becomes protective of it. Darling is played by Kiersey Clemons, best known for playing Bianca in Transparent.

Thomas Mann is Jim Dear

Again, "Jim Dear" is what we hear Darling calling her husband, so his last name is likely something different, but there's something altogether quaint and charming about the dogs assuming it. Lady's human daddy is played by Thomas Mann (Kong: Skull Island).

Yvette Nicole Brown is Aunt Sarah

Aunt Sarah comes to stay with her two cats, when Jim Dear and Darling have to go out of town. She dislikes and distrusts Lady, and tries to muzzle her. This leads to Lady running away, where she is rescued by Tramp. Aunt Sarah is played by Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, Elena of Avalor).

Adrian Martinez is Elliot

Elliot is a dog-catcher, and the fact that he has a name implies this is a significantly bigger role than the animated Lady and the Tramp. Nothing is known about Elliot at present, but he is responsible for constantly trying to catch Tramp. Adrian Martinez is best known for The Blacklist: Redemption.

Arturo Castro is Marco

Nothing is listed about the character of Marco, but the Italian name implies he could well be either the owner of the restaurant that feeds Lady and Tramp or someone who works there. Originally the restaurant was called Tony's, but that may have changed. Arturo Castro is known for playing Jamie Castro on Broad City.

Ken Jeong and F. Murray Abraham

Both Ken Jeong and F. Murray Abraham are listed as starring in Lady and the Tramp (and not as voice artists), but it is not known who they could be playing. As Lady and the Tramp's release date draws closer, we are likely to have more details.

Si and Am

As previously mentioned, Si and Am, Aunt Sarah's Siamese cats, will appear in the movie, but they are being reworked. Their appearance, along with their song "We Are Siamese (If you Please)" may have been acceptable in 1955, but in 2019 it's hugely culturally insensitive and racist. Janelle Monaé is recording a new version of their song, but we don't know who is voicing the cats or what they will look like.
