There's a writing advice channel on YouTube where they talk about James and Helen in ACGAS as an example of a slow burn romance.

Now look, the Helen and James romance is written really well, but they are basically love at first sight with a minor obstacle keeping them apart. They meet series 1, start dating in series 2, are then engaged by the end of the same series and then marry the first episode of series 3. That is not a slow burn.

And I understand this take even less, when the best slow burn I have ever seen, is happening right alongside them with Siegfried and Audrey. Like come on!

4. “What’s this now, James?” Helen asked, sounding very much as if she had her hands on her hips instead of where they were, one at his waist, the other on his biceps, holding him steady after he’d stumbled rising up from the bench beside the tea-tent. “You’re white as a ghost. What’s wrong?”

“When I said I was bruised, from the bull, ‘twas perhaps not quite—”

“How badly are you hurt?” she interrupted, slipping her hand beneath the borrowed jumper.

“Cracked a few ribs, I think,” he said.
