can't believe this hasn't been said before but unhinged!scarlett and unhinged!dave would be an iconic duo. shame pi didn't get a second season bc these two in an alliance would basically succeed in destroying the island, they'd wipe everyone out

the fact that they're both versions of the nerd character so they're already smart in their own ways, the fact that they have absolutely zero fucks to give anymore, their individual darker sides have come out (whether it was hidden consciously (scarlett) or unconsciously (dave)), and they've each attempted to kill/seriously injure one or more contestant(s) (and mess up the island in the process) just to reach their end goal. imagine if these two found a common goal somehow, literally nothing could get in their paths (except possibly each other)

#these two in an alliance that ends with one or both of them turning on the other would be wild #tbh i know ppl talk abt wishing roti getting a second season but the potential in a second season for pi?? there is so much!!#literally half the dynamics have changed and so have personalities for most of the characters in pi #max and scarlett's dynamic change and their shifts in characters #topher could easily shift from chris lover to chris hater. two extremes!!#he just wants to get chris fired or in pain or smth lmao #dave becoming more competitive and less romantic he turns more heartless (and a bit more reserved and unpredictable)#his heart is there its just v shrouded. and repressed memories dave of the finale!!#he knows smth big happened but the memories of exact details are fuzzy (when that mental curtain is ripped away its gonna be chaos)#amy and sammy's change in dynamics. sammy standing up for herself!!#i wanna say sky would join a second season to get a chance at the money (im a shawn winner truther)#but idk if after all that she'll want to lmao #but skave dynamic total shift if sky comes back!!!#dave doing anything to get her eliminated sky slowly starting to retaliate #it'd be interesting to explore ella and sugar's characters if they've changed or not #evil scarlett who doesnt hide it!!#jashawn ain’t gonna join i think lmao they deserve a nice break plus they split the million so #rodney who is still a romantic but starts to understand the truth of boundaries and the rose colored glasses start to break #(he gets a sexuality revelation when he crushes on one of the guys)#just imagine how wack things would have gone with a second season #the different interactions and alliances and friendships and enemies #and the interactions/dynamics in the first season def would have changed in a second one #this is making me remember the whole layout for a second pi season younger me wrote with new and old contestants #anyway! second season pi was so deserved it would have been wack #noahtally-famous #total drama #td dave #td scarlett #tdpi

the thing is i very much understand the appeal of lupcretia narratively bc they are foils who betray each other and then forgive each other because the force of their grief and guilt brings them to an understanding and i also understand the appeal of blupcretia bc its a three person relationship who disagree on something major and split apart leaving one party feeling abandoned when the other two agree against her and what does that mean for the fact that the rest of their lives outside a horrible timeloop are supposed to start soon Because of that decision and disagreement like i get it narratively its interesting!! but here’s the thing: i just have an unshakeable belief that lup is straight

#+ w/ regard to blupcretia the appeal of that one depends on the Assumption that romantic relationships are prioritized #yk what i mean?#like its only really interesting if you assume they’re intending to also be life partners/prioritized in each others life #thats why the creeping feeling of betrayal in lucretia is interesting at all #bc she’s assuming the three of them are a Unit #like thats why its more interesting romantically than platonically (still very very interesting platonically)#but i really don’t think romantic relationships Are always prioritized and i especially don’t think LUP of all people does so #the most important person in her life is taako and he’s just chilling in this scenario LMAO #he has no skin in the game so even if youre like yeah lup DOES prioritize him over both her romantic partners it doesnt… add any depth #and taako and lucretia have their own extremely complex & interesting dynamic and that doesnt benefit from lucretia being w/ lup either #like i tend to think taako and lucretia were already pretty close w/out lupcretia being a thing so that doesnt lend any more complexity #+ all that's not even to mention that i dont think lup or barry as characters really have romantic chemistry w/ lucretia #that and i just really do think lup is straight #taz #mine #ive also seen a fic abt taako/lucretia where she feels betrayed bc he chose his family over her (his girlfriend?)#which i guess is interesting enough but i truly truly cannot ever see them in a romantic/sexual relationship #that's absolutely not their dynamic. even aside from the fact they're both gay as fuck LMAO #not trying to vague something very specific dont anyone go like. hunt this down and harass the author ofc #just thought it was interesting. another concept that in theory could be narratively fun but i cant ever see happening. except way stronger

The length of the f1 break is getting to me, I've started looking back on old ships, and I feel like a feral dog about them again

I don't really understand when people talk about Enstars stories as mid specifically because it wasn't like... the next Reminiscence story. Yeah the really deep and juicy stories are what got a lot of us into the series but they can't all be like that or we'd be burnt out really quickly. Stories like Kaguya-hime and Ring.A.Bell's story or the individual unit and scout stories with low stakes help to develop characters and make them feel more like real people to the reader. Kaguya-hime is coming in between two major SS Arc tours and those are really intense, long stories and it's good to just have a girls night out shuffle unit in there to bleed tension as well as just give the readers a break. The story is about friends having one last hurrah before going their separate ways after high school (or Hiyori's "idol retirement" as it were), of course it's not going to be Checkmate or Human Comedy or Meteor Impact because it wasn't meant to be like those stories. Regular normal stories have their place in the series as much as the Reminiscence and Climax and Main Stories do.

#shay speaks #enstars #ensemble stars #this isnt abt anyone I've seen on tumblr but it was asked abt in a discord gc so #like. kaguyahime was really cute and explored a lot of dynamics we dont normally see as all the shuffle units do #thats the whole point literally to flesh out the characters relationships beyond units and production companies #they dont have to be deep its fine if its silly sometimes its actually better to have silly stories sometimes!!#like i fell in love with tatsumi bc of obbligato but now i look back on the other stories ive read with him #including feather touch and kaguyahime and his idol stories and i just fall in love even more #there are a lot of details that get dropped in these stories too so they are important but their purpose is just #to be lighthearted and silly and fun and thats OKAY

#its 2 am for me rn ughnnnnnnn #i was thinking of them #the text placement is a little botched srry abt that #eridan ampora #sollux captor #erisol #it's been a bit since ive posted erisol but the erisol ive been drawing is self indulgent #crappy looking #or both #but i love these two characters so much #I cant help but spit random hcs on them cuz we dont get TOO much of them in the main comic #so might as well #I just like their dynamic in general on a non shipping level #its so interesting cuz they are two sad soping wet people that are out for eachother in cold blood yet were forced to share a body with #eachother and not freak out and explode themselfs but choose to remain in a state of suffering #almost like their kinda familiar with that suffering but this time it's with the person they loathe the most (in a platonic sense)#It's reminiscent of self sabotaging #they like the feeling #they are with the person they hate more than they hate themself #but also more than they love themself #it helps them feel better abt themself #like “wow this guy is a fucking loser glad im not him” and also “he's just like me”#it creates an endless cycle of self hatred a coping mechanism but certainly not a healthy one #a codependency that prevents them from being lonely #or worse #alone with their own thoughts #although they are aspects of the other person that corrects the flaws of the other person #they are a shitty self portrait with a perfect frame #a deformed renaissance statue #im too tired to make other metaphors but you get it

hm the diversity everybody seems to be ok with (all white cast and a token) is what forced diversity actually is, not when the best person for a lead role just so happens to not be white/mostly not white cast but we all know what people mean by "forced diversity" so I'm not gonna lament too much anymore
