Se al canto dei grilli,

quando la notte luccica,

e i pianeti cadono leggeri nel cielo

e le cicale si aggrappano alla vita,

mentre l'aria pizzica

lentamente

le foglie argentate dei ligustri,

decorerò

con le piume perenni delle pernici e dei galli

il tempio di argilla e canne,

e poi

il bambino che gioca coi dadi

dirà:

“è questo che volevo”,

tu sorriderai?

Ma dai, smettila con quel viso imbronciato.

Io mi chiedevo come ci saremmo trovati

se, così stralunato,

non sapevo dove eri,

chi eri

dove mettevi i tuoi passi.

Ma intanto provavo i miei,

perché lo sapevo.

Ci troveremo fuori tempo massimo,

ma, finché uno sa contare,

sa anche recitare quei versi

che tu,

con quel viso imbronciato,

con le ghirlande di asfodelo

di quando sembri Persefone,

di quando giochi a fare Beatrice,

con la spada in mano,

e porti la vittoria su questo sfacelo,

che solo tu sai capire.

Alla fine del mondo

mi hai insegnato a intrecciare i giunchi.

Le api ronzano,

e giustizia, e bellezza è da capo fatta.

La cosa che mi piaceva di te

era che non ti importava

del perché ti amassi,

e ancora adesso

è per questo che ti amo,

e mi dispiace

se a volte sembro triste

e mi mostro stanco.

È che penso

al tempo che si è spento

lasciando tutto bianco.

Rimpiango

quando la vita passava,

e, se anche solo ti sfiorava,

faceva male,

era bello,

e, per corteggiarti,

ti dicevo che volevo invecchiare con te

che non sarei mai,

mai voluto essere eterno

e fare quelle cose,

cambiare il nome alle stelle,

spostare l’asse del mondo,

girare il suo perno.

Mentivo:

avrei voluto la giovinezza non finisse mai.

E, ora,

dopo averti attraversata tutta,

pieno di graffi,

ho un momento di paura,

proprio io, che da sempre ti amo,

un’incertezza:

come praticare, spezzato il ramo,

la magia suprema,
