Aaaa I got my old Neopets account back. Not the account with all the stuff on it, that I used most, the old one from 2001, where I lied about my age and then lost the password so I could never go back because what if they deleted my pets??? I explained about why I lied about my age and promised never to do it again (I was 14 when I made the account, I'm 37 now...) and sent them a screencap of their change-of-email-address confirmation from the frozen account showing that while I don't have access to my old Hotmail address, it did definitely used to be mine.
(The zip code listed on the account, btw, is 123. Everyone told me to lie about my age and my location on the internet, but nobody accounted for the fact that I am a very bad liar.)
Anyway, the account with all my stuff on it from... mid-to-late high school, I guess? got frozen for some reason, but I did find one of the pets from it in the pound! He doesn't have a "good" name (I adopted him) so I assume he's been in the pound this whole time but he even still has his petpet! I'm salty that my carefully coded petpage for him got erased but that's the main loss here. (It was an in-character-as-a-dweeby-Moehog guide to the game Cheat with some gushing about how cool some of the Cheat players are. They are not cool. Not at all.)
Anyway have a family reunion pic of my old neopets. The striped Eyrie was my first one! I straight up do not remember adopting a Skeith from the pound but I guess I did that.
EDIT: I'm going to try to customize my very first pet like this. I played around with Dress to Impress using "what would make 14-year-old me happy?" as a guideline.
