I don't know if I'm alone in this, but I actually prefer some of the newer listeners to the ogs. To me, they just feel more.. complex, I guess?? I mean, I have just as much fun digging into Cutie's character as I do digging into someone like Regulus, and I don't really get that with a lot of the older listeners.

Here I Stay
Summary: “Why not?” Kanade asked, softly but with such strength that was impossible to ignore. She asked like she wanted to hear, she wanted to know what Mafuyu was thinking.
Well, Mafuyu herself didn’t understand. How was she supposed to answer?
Word Count: 1300
_____________________________________________________________
Mafuyu’s pen hovered over her notebook, wavering over a line she’d just written. This line, these lyrics, the instant she wrote them something rolled violently in her stomach. It rose in her throat, burning and acidic.
What was this feeling?
Her next exhale shook, as she flipped the notebook to the following page. Her room was quiet and empty, as it always was. The moss ball in her fish tank made hardly a sound, insulated from the world underwater. Her notepad was illuminated by the dim glow of her computer, which was the only light on inside the room.
A small ray of light shined underneath her door; her parents were still awake. Every once in a while she could hear them walk past, their feet creaking against the floorboards. Mafuyu breathed in, her pulse pushing fast under her skin.
She glanced over at her window as if she could see past the drawn blinds. The balcony laid beyond, a few too many meters off the ground. No, that wasn’t it either.
Why did she feel like this? She didn’t know, couldn’t even identify what she was feeling to begin with.
Mafuyu’s next exhale was steadier as she picked up and closed her notepad. She looked down at her phone, which sat face up on her desk. With a single press of a button, she was gone.
The world transformed and morphed around her, reforming from the dimness of her room into the ever-expansive abyss of the Sekai. Jagged pillars dotted the scenery, casting shadows that should’ve been longer than they were tall. Mafuyu’s own form cast only a short one, barely extending away from her form.
She carried her notepad in one hand, firmly as not to drop it, and walked forward. She knew where she was going; there was really only one landmark worth visiting.
It was easy to tell when she’d arrived, spotting the pillars and Mizuki’s kotatsu in the center of the clearing. There was an open spot that the pillars circled, which was easier to see in the distance. They had decided to place a few items there, since they could stay under the care of the virtual singers even if all Niigo members left the Sekai. As Mizuki had argued, Miku was very responsible.
The items so far contained a kotatsu, a couple of cushions, some art supplies, and a small speaker. These were positioned around the clearing, scattered and somehow perfectly in order.
Yet, even as Mafuyu arrived hours before Niigo’s usual online meeting time, there was already another person there. Kanade sat perched with her legs crossed on one of the cushions, many feet away from the kotatsu. A tablet was placed along her legs, with headphones that were carefully adjusted over her ears plugged into the side. Her palm was open as she tapped the screen with multiple fingers.
Mafuyu didn’t stop upon seeing her, instead approaching without hesitation. Something jolted in her when Kanade looked up, when their eyes met across this wide empty space. Like before it had been a shock, but one of a completely different nature.
She didn’t really understand, but she took a cushion and sat down on her knees next to Kanade anyway. The other girl nodded at her, a small smile lifting her lips.
“What are you working on?” Mafuyu asked, still holding her notepad shut. From this angle she could almost see Kanade’s screen, running a light weight version of the tool she used to mix music.
Kanade moved it closer, turning it so Mafuyu could see it better. “A new idea for a song.” She said, tugging the headphone jack out of its port. The tinny sound of music on the tablet speakers began to play, an upbeat yet somber tune. They listened together for a moment, before she continued. “What about you?” Her eyes came back to Mafuyu’s with the question.
It would be best to be honest, wouldn’t it?
Mafuyu slowly opened her notebook, flipping to the page she’d shut just minutes before. “I’m still working on them.” She said, holding the book out for Kanade. The other teen accepted it gently, her gaze dropping to absorb the text from the page. Mafuyu heard the hitch in Kanade’s breath when she reached the end, there was no way to miss it.
When Kanade looked up, her expression now carried a hint of a frown. She passed the notebook back, tilting her head slightly. “You don’t like them as they are now?”
Mafuyu shook her head once. “No…” She looked again at the lyrics, again at the last line. Her heart tightened in her chest, causing her frown to deepen.
Next to her, Kanade had fully set her tablet on the ground. She turned to angle her body towards Mafuyu, looking at her more directly.
“Why not?” She asked, softly but with such strength that was impossible to ignore. She asked like she wanted to hear, she wanted to know what Mafuyu was thinking.
Well, Mafuyu herself didn’t understand. How was she supposed to answer?
“They make me, they...” Mafuyu started, hesitating and slowly brushing one finger across those final words. “They give me this feeling, I don’t know.” Her eyebrows knit together as she searched for the words. “It hurts.”
A small hand was placed gently on her arm. “It’s alright.” Kanade was closer now, practically right next to her. Her touch was warm, impossibly so even through Mafuyu’s sleeve.
Mafuyu’s heart clenched, tight and painful in her chest. That’s right, this feeling was pain. These words she’d written, that flowed from her fingers like blood from a wound. They were hers and they were there and they hurt.
The line read, “I can’t break free, can’t go beyond. Here I stay.” It shook Mafuyu to her core. Those words that she had written, that she had carried with her day after day for the last few years. Now she couldn’t stand to look at them.
She still had her pen grasped tightly in her hand. She lifted it over the page, hovering over the line.
Kanade’s hand on her arm grounded her, reminding her she wasn’t alone. “How do you feel about that?” Kanade asked, her voice barely lifted above a murmur.
Another question, posed as they always were. Another answer Mafuyu longed to be able to give. “I don’t know.” She said, tapping the tip of the pen against the page. A dark mark appeared beneath it, indented from the pressure. She grimaced, biting the side of her lip.
Kanade’s voice didn’t waver. “Do you think it’s true?”
Did she? Yes, she did. How could it have left her pen otherwise, left her feeling like the world was spinning and shattering all at once. There had been no escape; there still wasn’t. But did that make it true?
She reminded herself to be honest.
“I don’t want it to be true.” Those words, they flowed hoarsely from her lips. They brushed painfully into her own ears, echoing out into the empty Sekai that represented her mind.
Yet, her hand was steady as she moved the pen. In one swift motion, Mafuyu crossed the line out. Then she drew another line through it, then another, until it was barely visible.
Kanade’s hand left her arm, instead coming to settle over Mafuyu’s for only a moment. “It won’t be.” She said with a nod, firm and insistent.
Something else occurred in Mafuyu’s chest at that, a fluttering feeling she didn’t know how to understand. She didn’t linger on it, instead turning to the next page of her notebook.
She was still trying to write new lyrics, after all.
The two worked side by side for a while, mixing music and jotting down lines. Making progress towards their goals in this place, this Sekai, where they had started to move forward.

If it helps you at all, one thing that helped me when I felt completely drained by school was learning to crochet. I know it sounds dumb but something about creating something you can use with your own hands really helps a lot. It's kinda tricky at first but once you get it it's a skill that mostly stays with you for a good while and then you'll have the ability to make yourself blankets, clothes, stuffed animals, and more :)
Thanks! I actually have my own hobby called "drawing gay people"

Hello, I have a question.
What is the concept the wording "shape memory alloy" wants to convey when Seth talks about his golden snake form?
Smart metal.
Basically a "shape memory alloy" is a type of metal alloy that "remembers" its original shape and can return to it even after being deformed (usually after heating it). I believe it's meant to be a partial explanation of Grim the End's shapeshifting powers.

I love being able to curate the content I see online. Like, there’s this one thing in this one fandom I’m in that makes me very uncomfortable. And I can just...block it! Like, nope I’m not gonna see this I am going to block the tag. I don’t have to see things I don’t like for ANY REASON and I don’t have to like...moralize it like I do IRL. I am uncomfy with this specific thing so I’m gonna block it and never talk about it, it’s as simple as that. Another under-rated part of this is that I don’t misplace my anger at things that are happening to me IRL onto strangers on the internet. IDK why people are always like ‘you shouldn’t block people or subjects just because you don’t like them’ when, like, it’s better for literally everyone involved if I don’t see this stuff and me not seeing it is harming literally nobody. It’s different for topics that are really important and that SHOULD make me uncomfortable (why I don’t have tags about current events in my country blocked even though they make me DEEPLY UPSET), but for stuff like fandom bs (which for me is just for fun) nobody loses in this scenario. It’s why my block-list is so long ngl. There’s a tag that’s dedicated to a ship that I think reinforces gender-stereotypes and makes me angry because of that, but makes other people feel empowered in their masculinity/femininity for a reason I don’t quite understand? I’m glad it exists to make others happy, but I’m blocking it. There’s an account that exclusively posts about a character from a video-game who reminds me of some fucked up shit in my personal life, even if the account owner seems like a perfectly decent person? Have a good life random stranger, but bye bye. If I’m like ‘hey can we please not talk about x’ irl everyone wants to know WHY I don’t want to talk about x. Here, I can just block the subject from appearing entirely (assuming people are tagging shit properly, which in my experience most people in my communities DO) and not need to justify it to a larger audience. And it’s better for LITERALLY EVERYBODY INVOLVED if I don’t engage with certain subjects.
TLDR; I love having the ability to block tags and accounts without needing to justify it.

Sometimes I forget how much is out there. I often think I have seen or read a lot and then I am reminded of how much content is out there.
