I hate when people talk about Ashler like it’s inconceivable to ship them.
They’ll be like “Oh, they had so much beef, they’re barely even friends.” Genuinely asking here, have you even read the webtoon if you think that?
Tyler had issues with practically everyone at the beginning, hell, most of the kids didn’t even like each other. Ben, Aiden, Ashlyn, and Logan all thought he was a jerk and he was acting like one because he was trying to protect himself and Taylor and the whole situation was stressful as hell. That’s why his character development is so good. Even Ashlyn remarks that he’s being less of a jerk in one chapter and Taylor says that he's begun to see the others as real friends, maybe even family.
They all eventually became allies and then friends, including Ashlyn and Tyler. Sure, they like to throw some sarcastic remarks at each other but that’s just their sense of humour and part of the appeal of their friendship. Same with Aiden and Tyler, they insult each other all the time but the insults that were originally meant to hurt are now used affectionately.
He gave Ashlyn a nickname guys. He gave a jokey nickname to cheer her up because she felt terrible about the fact that she had to leave him behind while he got terribly hurt, while he died. She literally started crying out of guilt and being overwhelmed by the whole situation. She cares about him and he cares about her and the whole gang cares about each other, which is why there are so many ships in the fandom to begin with.
So stop acting like anyone who ships Ashler is stupid and stop saying ‘they’re like siblings’ on every post about them. We know it’s probably not gonna be canon, hell, Red herself said romance isn’t the focus of the webtoon at all.
I don’t even like shipping in general but the TikTok fandom keeps pissing me off. Stop acting like everyone has to ship the same things as you and stop commenting shit like ‘cute edit but I wish it was Aidlyn’ or ‘They’re just friends, they act like siblings’. Like yeah, they’re not canon but you’d have to be blind if you couldn’t see why some people ship it. Stop shitting on people’s ships and let them have their fun, we all know they’re not canon.
NONE OF THEM ARE.
Anyway, that’s the end of my rant. Sorry, I keep getting Ashler hate every time I search it up on TikTok. It’s so stupid and annoying, let people ship who they want in peace and stop undermining Ashlyn and Tyler's canon friendship and character development to shit on people’s ships. It’s an insult to the characters and your ability to read between the lines.

here’s another thought i have on the finale which isn’t very high stakes but has been driving me Fucking Nuts:
re: the fight between jamie and roy about keeley. i thought it was stupid and lazy writing that did a disservice to everything else that dynamic was and encompassed. there was so much more there and THAT was how we closed it out eh? like kudos to her for going ‘uh, no’ and kicking them out, that was a good call, but the whole thing sucked so bad generally and wasted time we could’ve spent doing literally anything other than the most cliche, juvenile, classic ‘women are a prize for men to fight over’ thing. however what’s annoying me even more is the way people who DID like it are responding to people who didn’t.
i keep seeing people be like “ACTUALLY them fighting over her was fine and normal youre all just babies who can’t handle that sometimes people REGRESS and sometimes people are MEAN and UNFAIR and UNKIND” and it’s like nah man it’s because they avoided doing this shit entirely for three fucking years and then were like do you want the cliche love triangle bullshit you dodged the whole time heaped on you at the last second when it makes the least sense? sure, here you go!
is it regression if it’s something they never did in the first place? i think not! and characters can be mean and unfair and cruel and whatever and it’s not the end of the world, i actually think it’s very interesting, and THAT’S not the part i find out of character, it’s that they literally never did this before and now after EVERYTHING else, after how clear it was how gravely fucking serious jamie was about the video leak, this is the kind of shit they’re throwing at each other about this? after repeatedly subverting expectations of classic love triangle nonsense? it’s tired and it’s lazy and it’s the cheapest option and nobody is gonna be able to change my mind by telling me i just don’t understand that People Can Be Unfair Sometimes.

#currently crying because I'm alone with my husband's 94 year old grandma and I'm the only one who ever lets her talk about certain topics#so she just talked about her childhood and youth for one and a half hours#which means. the war#I'm not gonna go into it but it makes me cry every time even though I've already heard it all before#how can you not cry about a child who lost two of her teenaged brothers and had to watch the third one very nearly die too#the stories about how careful they had to be because the police constantly went to every house and checked everything#how they had to hide some of the milk from their cows so they could make butter because they couldn't afford to buy it#and how dangerous that was.#idk I'm so tired of people dying over senseless and unnecessary shit forever and ever and nothing ever changes and no one ever seems#to learn from it#or at least the ones in power don't#as long as there's disposable people (men) to send to war it doesn't matter. and now that's not even necessary anymore you can just kill#people from far away and. people are being excessively mean to others for clout on places like tiktok and twitter in instances where there is literally no reason to respond in a mean way and I don't think I will ever get it like is it that they need likes for validation because they feel extremely lonely in real life because real life connections with people are rare and the pandemic made things worse and so ganging up on people online with others makes them feel like they are part of something even if that something is negative and is possibly bringing another person to experience extremely negative feelings about themselves or are all these people just a bunch of coward assholes

#re: your post in my inbox is overall great and poetic but i very much disagree about verstappen's driving style and preference of understeer#he absolutely heavily favours oversteer#in fact his *preferred* setup is incredibly oversteer#like a whole new world of front end#it doesn't mean he can't cope with understeer - he doesn't like it (nor does charles) but he is brilliant at it (charles too)#i agree that his style going into a corner is quite different from charles - the way the latter throws himself into a corner is...#extremely aggressive#max is razor perfect and charles aims for perfection on the razor edge is more how i would describe it#for me their car preference is very similar - they love snappy front end with extreme responsiveness and have amazing skill to wrestle it#they scorn understeer because that balance through the whole corner is unnecessary for their level of skill but they ROCK at understeer too#in fact the less responsive front end makes the car more unstable to drivers like them#in their earlier days i would stay max's incomparable quality was his internal clock - absolutely unbeatable timing#so his corners/braking/etc are just perfect and he extracts the absolute maximum#charles of that era actually took a more square/straight racing line which is fascinating as it's not the 'ideal racing line'#but he lets the car rotate on entry into the balancing phase of a corner and exits with a straighter line#not at all like max but very fast#i think he has actually adapted as some of the short shifting out of corners may have led to more tire deg back in the day#meanwhile his tire management (ferrari setup disasters aside) has been excellent last season#elle.txt#analysis#technical#car ride conversations with the hubby... this is what we ramble about lmao#btw thank you so much for the message! and so appreciate your love of my fics. it means so much <3 ty!

Okay so brace yourself because this is gonna be a wild ride no one ever asked for
Meet VOID.
If you ever met them in person, you were either in trouble and needed help, a person in position of holding valuable resources or on their personal assassination list.
Void is a faceless netrunner with incredible hacking skills playing both a hero and a villain depending on who they deal with. Known by every important person in Night City, they offer their services to anyone who might need it - fixers, private clients or even corporations they carefully picked themselves. Besides that, they keep less fortunate and poor communities safe, not expecting any kind of payment from them. They have a wide range of jobs they could take, but they definitely take the most satisfaction out of the dirtiest, most difficult gigs you could think of. The worse the better, and you will quickly learn Void is just the right person to complete those for you.
No one knows who Void really is as they popped out of thin air and quickly dominated the net and the streets. There are legends and theories repeated around saying they are either an highly functioning AI, a comer from the outer space or regular human being trying to play god. Void never denied or confirmed any, leaving the interpretation to whoever care.
Packed with various kinds of cybernetics, you might wonder how much flesh they still have left. They never take off their mask so no one knows their true identity - not even people closest to them. They communicate through a voice synthesiser that blocks out their real voice and make it very static and glitchy. They appear very calm and collected, but can become restless any second. They avoid unnecessary movement and speak only about matters they find important. You won't experience a friendly chat with them, but their complete focus on the task makes them very reliable.
With this amount of cybernetics you would start wondering whether or not they already exhibit symptoms of cyberpsychosis. While no one ever saw them lose control (or wasn't alive anymore to tell the story) also no one ever denied they might not have one, but you never know what happens in the dark...?

#it's just bitching nothing serious but#ok so the surgeon i work for is at a conference rn#so all of sx team is hunting for hours#the only options are to work er or drive nearly an hour at six am to work for a diff surgeon#i chose that option bc fuck er#then last minute that option was cancelled for today#so i told my partner that if er really needed me today they could call me in#(my partner is working er swing shift bc that's their natural schedule and even tho they don't love er they take any chance they can get)#so they call me in at three for what should've been an easy quick fb but turns out it's actually a 4.5 hr disaster#that i was scrubbed in for all of#so now I'm just now getting home and i need to be back at work in 8 hrs#which is not even what's pissing me off the most#it's that the surgeon apparently is coming home early??? and cutting two cases??? and non sx team ppl who don't need sx training#are gonna be doing it???#they don't need hours they don't need sx experience#at least if you're not going to call in your team then train new ppl? and don't make your team travel hither and yon just to make rent???#I'm just very tired and so painful(i injured my neck and still can't look to the left)#and i don't do well with changes to my routine esp when they're completely unnecessary and benefit no one??#and also this all means that the five or so hours i worked today is all I'm gonna see my partner until Friday... and we're gonna be on call#i love this job so much but at this rate I'm gonna be down nearly a full week of pay this month and yet still had to miss every tkd class#anyway#i still need to shower and then sleep#so I'm done bitching
