adding myself to the chorus of voices that wants to create a new category of awards for podcast sound design and award them all to taylor moore for his work, especially on ep 13.

i love how the miyazaki influence is so prevalent and constantly referenced by these storytellers (genius knows genius) bc pairing brennan’s description of naram, a titanic lionfish god rising above the waves, with the c(h)oral notes and chanting i was instantly reminded of the grandeur of the forest spirit in mononoke, the horror of the war machine in nausicaa, the arcana in howl’s moving castle!!!!! positively carried away on a wave of emotion!!!!!

&the choice to highlight the screaming of human casualties, (laplo rip u were cute, apparently) to highlight consequences. &the Comic moments in this ep; the drumroll when galina and morrow have the contested persuasion roll and the *ding* when morrow succeeds? that INSANE outtro perfectly capturing the feeling of bobbing up and down in choppy surf + whale sounds bidding us adieu? absolutely despicably exceedingly GOOD! GOD! VERY GOOD!!!!

i hope taylor shows up for the ep 13 fireside chat bc he needs to be held to account for his audio stylings and showered in flowers.

testosterone meeting complete?!?!?!?!???!!!

#it went well the doctor was so much better than any doctor i’ve met ever in my life #treated me like a human being?? was familiar with my pre-existing conditions??#saw autism on my chart and just acknowledged it and moved on?? no ‘‘are you sure you’re trans you’re just a confused autistic kid’’ ??!!#i have an informed consent paper to look at now but it’s all stuff i’ve already researched #i have officially decided that T is more important to me than biological children so we got this #(i was already basically there but i had an anxiety spiral a couple months ago about freezing my eggs which i’ve confirmed was just anxiety #‘‘just anxiety’’ i sound like a fucking evil doctor but like. intrusive-thoughts-anxiety vs thing-i-should-listen-to. i don’t want bio kids #the one thing i’m nervous about is my singing voice i wanna make sure i get some recordings in before my voice changes #cause my voice isn’t mine but i’ve sure worked hard on it shdhdf and it has a high pitched anxious quality to it that you can’t often find #shdhdhf i just feel like the voice i have now is more unique than wherever i’m gonna end up. and i really want to sound like my favorite cis #men musicians but i feel like my anxious songs just won’t hit the same if it sounds like some guy is singing them #so i’m gonna make some recordings within the next month to put out pre-T demo versions of my songs (real demos not what i’m always posting)#and then i’ll be ready. cause i want to sound like some weird shitty man SO BAD. please just let me be some off-key guy with voice cracks #TO BE CLEAR i would sure like to be a talented singer on testosterone. which has happened for one of my dearest friends and can probably #also happen for me. if i keep working on my voice all the time. Insane that Blade during Todd's quest did basically the same thing Dan Heng was doing during this last video

#Fragments and scraps #I talk too much #I had just finished Todd's quest and I had so many questions and hypotheses and then the video dropped #And goodness it gave me even more things to ponder but I also think it kind of cleared things up when it came to what was Blade mourning #I also wondered whether this came after Kafka's companion mission but now I'm pretty sure it comes before it? I think it makes sense #Seeing confirmation of Yingxing being old looking was so hard to watch whilst compared to how young Jing Yuan sounds in Chinese #And when seeing him alongside Jingliu and Baiheng‚ who were both mature women when he was a little kid #No wonder he is so prideful of his craft. He deserves it. I really adore how they implemented a lot of details in the worldbuilding #and sidequests that throw light towards the characterisation and story of some of the main characters #Specifically I can't stop thinking about Yingxing in the context of how we see shortlife humans are regarded by some people on the Xianzhou #and especially in the context of the sidequest about the master and the apprentice. Everything it implies #Anyway... This video broke me. The confrontation between Dan Heng and Dan Feng was hard enough #(guy leave the boy alone‚ *he* has nothing to repent of) as well as beautiful. Some shots were gorgeous and full of symbolism #But seeing the five friends... goodness. Yingxing's bitter smile carries a weight that I think goes beyond him losing to Jingliu #given his age and how young his friends look. The way Jing Yuan reacts as if having the braincell but also teasing them was so him #The way his voice broke later on while reading Imbibitor Lunae's punishment took me out #Baiheng reminded me a bit of March 7th in this video. It may be due to how March reacts to Dan Heng's melancholic air towards the end #And how Baiheng reacts to Imbibitor Lunae's and Yingxing's at the beginning. I don't know if the parallelism was purposeful but I loved it #They all felt actually a lot closer than I expected. Mainly Jingliu. I expected her to be close only to Baiheng given what Jing Yuan says #The images that flash over the sentence were so good and so heartbreaking #Yingxing looking at the figure over the moon‚ his chest being pierced by the sword Blade now wields‚#Jingliu blindfolded slicing something‚ someone suspended in chains‚...#And the heavy absence in those images of Jing Yuan‚ whose breaking voice hovers over them all #Truly brought back to mind Blade's line about him. How he knew better than anyone but he did or said nothing #And how he is not one of those who must pay #Everything was so charged I wanted to scream or jump off a cliff. The way the faces of Dan Heng and Dan Feng superimpose ugh #Truly everything was so good #I have so many thoughts about it I can't stop thinking hahaha #But I better shut up already. I should sleep a bit #I want to scream though. The Dan Heng/Blade parallelism makes me want to drown a sea‚ ontological barriers be damned haha

#song of the day #it's not at all summer yet but it is spring!!#it's chilly when the wind blows and the dew-damp sticks around until noon but the sun is out and the sky is maybe not clear but close!#spring!!!!#I put my first early plantings in the garden today #I had planned for a bunch of marigolds but I got a different batch of flowers instead #so now what's down is rootings for a bunch of perennial flowers #sea holly and red-hot pokers and butterfly weed and hollyhocks #and then my little pea plants #I told Kelly I'd share pictures but for today it only looks like a square of dirt--I'll definitely share pics when my sprouts come in!!#beautiful beautiful garden times #summer of 2010 when this song came out was the first time in three-ish years I'd spent much continuous time with my family #my littlest siblings were old enough to be away from Mom for a while and still young enough to be lulled to sleep by the car #and Mom was very eager to be left home alone to sleep (and play this weird chicken bowling game she was briefly addicted to)#and so we went on a lot of long leisurely pointless car rides and we listed to a lot of #(I will never not hear this in my head) 96.9 The Kat! country music radio #and this got added to the short list of songs I sang to myself #it's so catchy!! cute fun moderately-bouncy little earworm and my voice cruises up and down it so easy #'when the days start gettin warmer / the sun starts sinkin slower / weekends go by faster / and beer starts tastin colder #wanna tune into a station / takes me on a soul vacation / hey there mister dj / come on won't you please play'#and crucially Dad did not mind this song--which could not be said for 'There Is No Arizona' by Jamie O'Neal #or (after I sang it approximately ninety million times) 'Just What I Do' by Trick Pony #we also had--this was very fun for me--we had exactly one CD we could play in the car (because it was stuck in the disk player)#and that was Joe Diffie's 'Third Rock From The Sun'#so many songs of absolute joy on that album. lucky as hell that Dad agreed because it meant we'd crank it up so loud #close my eyes and let the sun shine all red through my eyelids #sing some real dumbass enjoyable-as-all-getout songs at the top of my absolute voice #Dad laughing and singing along and the littles sleeping through the all of it like the precious babies they were #these are the songs of sunshine and pointless happiness! it's not summer but it will be! my garden doesn't have plants yet but it will!#sing a song!!
