"Though I don't know exactly what you are or what you're up to... My bullets will find you — until then, you best find a casket store in Penacony, and ask the owner to reserve a good quality casket for you, imposter!"
Hardly could get more Western film than this
#That one scene in A Fistful of Dollars#The casket maker doesn't appear that way in Yojimbo if I recall#I love those films so much#Boothill has such a... soft youthful voice? I didn't recognise him at first. His voice is beautiful though#I talk too much#Boothill#The way he awkwardly laughs a little and asks almost shy 'Did I make a mistake?' lmao#I was wondering how he got her number and she gave it to him but gave him Black Swan's?#Or was Black Swan talking about Constance when she mentioned that 'she' who gave Boothill her whereabouts? Or someone else altogether?#He was kind of cute with that 'Did I make a mistake?' haha#'get that forehead clean and wait for me' this man is hilarious and has watched far too many movies xD#'are you asking me to write your will? Sure‚ go ahead' omg stop hahahahaha#'Not quite' responds Black Swan. Truly an elegant lady. I would have mocked him to no end#Hilarious too the idea or possibility of her apparently clocking him by the way he talks#'She's clearly not a Pathstrider of The Hunt. But you are‚ aren't you?'#Of course it could be context but it'd be funny if simplistic perhaps to think it's his manner of speaking lol#'go buy a bottle of Asdana's White Oak and warm it up‚ and I'll raise a glass to you' this man is hilarious and would be unbearable irl xD#I love the idea of an Emanator of Nihility existing despite the impossible. It seems very fitting#Also‚ unrelated‚ but I love Aventurine's little whimpers before his 'Didn't think you'd have the nerve to show yourself'#When Ratio claims he 'is the manager of this task' does he mean as undertaker or something real in the mission?#When he says Aventurine won't be seeing the Strategic Investment Department because he's the manager#did Ratio mean he will be the one dealing with the funeral or that there won't be a funeral at all because he's in charge?#I found this confusing

"The man mentioned 'die trying'... It might just be worth a try to give him what he wanted. That is, if you can live with it".
I very much would like not to, but there's no other way. The choice is a falsehood

I care more about the Bloodhound Family Member blocking our way than about Firefly, ngl. He seems so honest and principled, and he feels awful for bothering us while trying desperately to get ahold of the little dignity he feels he has. He says he'll die trying because he has nothing left to lose, and here I am, manipulating his emotions only to get this shady liar to her "secret base" like she is an eight years old that has watched too many cartoons.

ngl I love Boothill's design and I adore Blade's, but if I lost them in a crowd I wouldn't be able to tell them apart

Boothill's presentation being entirely on the twitter post makes me think he will be irrelevant in the story in the long(ish) run, and that the game itself won't dwell on him almost at all
#Kinda like Argenti but Argenti seemed to be part of a larger lore and worldbuilding#Boothill doesn't even give me that vibe#Cool design though. I do love revenge stories and western films so...#*sighs* I guess I may consider him if he's fun to play with and the story is interesting. I hope he takes Aventurine out of the grave#(Or do I? Emotionally I do. Rationally I think I may lean more towards 'keep Aventurine dead' tbh)#Imagine if his revenge is against the IPC in general and Aventurine in particular but when he gets there Aventurine is already dead#The enormous fail that would be hahaha#Automaton cowboy is such a good design though I would have liked it more had they taken the automaton way enhancing the clockwork thing#instead of the cyborg one with the futuristic air. What can I say I do love automatons and clockwork#and to me they're far superior aesthetically than cyborgs. Not into cyborgs and robots at all. Sorry Screwllum. Herta most beloved design#I wonder if his gameplay will revolve around some killing himself mechanic#I don't know what to say I do love those things gameplaywise. I love the risk they add and how they make one strategise a little more#Even beyond the story and the lore‚ Blade is still my fave character to use. So fun so flexible and ironically so reliable despite the risk#Abfksndk rambling#I am thinking of Aventurine and I'm thinking of Fu Xuan. I think I'll skip Robin unless they go dark-dark with her#but I'm still considering Sunday if they make him shady. I was looking forwards to Firefly but I've disliked her writing a lot#so for now she's a big skip. I wouldn't mind getting Topaz given I love the FUA mechanics and the SU#but I like other characters more and I don't like her design at all so I'll skip her too#Couldn't care less about IL (I have him in an alt account and I don't like him at all) so that's a big skip too#I like Screwllum but not enough for now. Hmmm I guess I could get one shielder since I do love them as characters#and then save until one character really convinces me. Boothill‚ Robin‚ Sunday hmmm I hope Sunday is shady and grey#I wonder if they'll bring Huaiyan. I would give a leg for Huaiyan. Yeah I've not moved on from the Xianzhou I love that place#and I adore Huaiyan and the Zhuming. I so hope we'll get to see that ship#I talk too much

Not to be a jingfu on main, but it's so cute that Jing Yuan thought of Fu Xuan with those jelly beans
#me: the Xianzhou characters are all just coworkers#also me whenever anyone is shown to be fond and have intimate knowledge of some other character: awwww#Like Fu Xuan and Jing Yuan playing starchess and teasing each other or making a reference to things they like#or Jing Yuan talking about young Yukong#Quingque apparently disliking Fu Xuan but obviously that not being the case‚ knowing what she likes and how she thinks#Fu Xuan hiding that she has a sweet tooth but Jing Yuan and Quingque knowing it and teasing her for it#I don't know. There are a lot of instances of these small intimate details in the middle of what looks like a coworker relationship#Good coworkers‚ but coworkers nonetheless#And ironically it moves me so much? Even more so than Belobog. I've been told several times that Belobog seemed more tight. And I agree#In Belobog people were friends or family or companions but linked by something closer than mere coworkers with Wildfire#Even Sampo in the Underworld was strangely 'theirs'. He had the magenta colour of Wildfire and he was trusted to some extent#The Luofu characters don't have that. And yet the fragments of intimacy scattered through their interactions move me a lot#These are people who have known each other for centuries. Jing Yuan knows of Yukong's youth‚ its joy and grief#He knows Fu Xuan has a sweet tooth and teases her about her height. Quingque does too#Fu Xuan chastises both of them for being lazy but she knows they're smart and good at their job. She plays starchess with Jing Yuan#Quingque mocks Fu Xuan for being a workaholic but is very aware of the weight she carries both in her position and ideas about destiny#I won't mention Yanqing and Bailu because there is obviously more than a coworker bound when it comes to them#But yes I love the moments of intimate knowledge scattered through the Xianzhou‚ so telling of the fact that these people have known#each other for longer than several human lifetimes‚ and that perhaps they don't necessarily regard each other as more than their coworker#But perhaps that's enough in order for them to care. Perhaps in a lifetime over one thousand years the intimacy gained with a coworker#through several centuries is something beyond what we could understand in our decades lifespan#But also‚ perhaps‚ I don't know. Also‚ perhaps‚ the do care beyond coworkers in that strange line between work and friendship#Perhaps it's strange for Xianzhou natives to tell apart that kind of relationship after so much intimacy and knowledge through the years#And perhaps‚ once again‚ as it often happens for them‚ they think they'll always have enough time to tell; until they run out of it#They play chess together. Quingque can lose time because Fu Xuan can't stay mad if she brings her sweets. Are they just coworkers?#We play chess. I know what tea and sweets you like best. I brought them today since you would indulge me and play starchess with me#Thanks for playing with me‚ I'm running out of book puzzles. You keep divining my moves but I'll invent a fake story to distract you#Are we coworkers or something more like friends? Where is the line after so many years?#I talk too much but I love this charged nothingness haha I find it ironically so true to how many relationships in real life develop#And I find it so moving‚ that representation of this endearing smallness of everyday life. Of these small things is life made

"Chaos turns into time, your dereliction of duty will pass, the volume is no longer proportional, the steps are reduced, one step, two steps, three feet, away from everything, be careful, Elio, the train moves forward, the baby falls to the ground, the cancer is growing... "
So Elio is linked to Fuli the Remembrance?

Unspeakable what Blade's monologue does to me, especially in its culmination. The line "...like when we drank to drown our sorrows..." falls onto me like a tombstone every time

It's as if they're saying... "Why... why did you and Imbibitor Lunae commit such an unforgivable sin?"
I know that you have no interest in my answer.
...which is why I asked the question as you looked me straight in the eye. I've asked myself that same question infinite times... but was never able to find the answer...
Why... why is it that only the abominations can return time and time again...?
Why does someone like her have to be buried, burned to ash, and eventually forgotten...? Why!?
This play on questions that await no answer, yet are in their way a response to what was asked, is so good
#The way they manauver around silences and how they don't say straight away what they mean and meant and felt and thought#yet know and understand even in their not sharing the other's position#I love how it works with Jin.gliu's understanding of Blade seeking B.ailu but not taking her medication‚#hoping for a different kind of treatment‚ just as she had#They stood in opposite sides of a board‚ with totally contrary opinions on the same matter‚ yet ended on the other side of each other#So similar both in stories‚ influences‚ relations and personality in some ways. So similar in movements in the end#So similar in drive to live beyond their death at the end of it all. Unable to let go and move on#Holding on to grudges and hatred and their sword if only to keep the pain and the memory alive if it's all that rests#I love them so much#I talk too much#Traces#Fragments and scraps#Why did you do it? Why is it that only monstrosities come back? Why did you do it? Why does she stay dead while my flesh restores itself?#Why did you do it? But seeing Bail.u is the best medicine she could have hoped for. And he did it‚ but is full of regrets#The absolute reproach and yet the mutual understanding is so good. It feels so natural and coherent. So human#I truly love them and their dynamic a lot#Also‚ obsessed with the fact that Blade says she stabbed him through his heart in the final blow‚ and how the image reflects it#'In the end‚ you stabbed me through the heart and left me and the sword in that withered grave'#'最后‚ 你刺出穿心一击‚ 把我和剑一起留在了那片枯冢'#I can't tell just how moved this whole quest makes me and how satisfactory it was to me haha#The Gongshu reference makes me want to scream every time#The weight of 'you left me and the sword' with how Blade and that sword are linked in life and death and change of being and name#Avfkabfkkd I couldn't love him more

"I am sure Destiny's Slave already told you that the swords of mortals are incapable of killing someone with the flesh of an Emanator"
I kept thinking that the wording at times make it seem as if Blade were an Emanator of Abundance

The video of Sparkle was so good. The killing of the selves, the underlying vacuum, the disregard for one's own life,... Truly not so different from Aventurine in some ways. It makes one wonder, again, but also understand better, perhaps, why he was invited to the Tavern

#I talk too much#I should probably delete this later#ANYWAY loving that Ratio apparently begrudgingly stands Aventurine because he finds him less stupid than most people#It was already clear and made basically explicit with Aventurine's comment about the absence of Ratio's plaster head before#And thus making it explicit is unnecessary and kind of dull but as with that one Yaoshi and Lan archive entry‚#I guess it's nice to have confirmation#I think it's very coherent with Ratio and it's exceedingly good with Aventurine. I think it works well with both and deepens both character#I have a lot to say about this but it's silly and obvious haha but yeah I do love it#I do adore that Aventurine is being written as smart and someone regarded as so by even someone who doubts the geniuses#I adore it in the context of Aventurine's past and Ratio's insistence that intelligence belongs to everyone#And his speech about mediocre people‚ unlike geniuses‚ having to endure‚ struggle and fight their way through#And it's nice to see this fits my reading of that one scene between them#Anyway... I'm getting exceedingly fond of Aventurine. I'm loving his character traits a lot. I love the tropes and I'm loving the writing#I love gambling and game theory together as I did divination and patter recognising and analysis#In light of everything Aventurine being preservation is even more poignant and makes even more sense than it did before#And I do love that he apparently tried to repaid‚ years later‚ the favour to a family who helped him#I love the mix between gratefulness and debt payment#I hope they don't forget his ruthlessness though haha#I love the masked fool air of his boss fight and how well that works with the drunkeness he feels when having his life at risk#I love the apparent mix of preservation‚ drive to survive‚ getting drunk on death and the seemingly numbness for his own safety#If the leaks are true I think I'll love him dying. If the leaks are true I think I'll hate him dying. I am torn#The writing choice can be so good. I wonder about the ramifications of his writing‚ if it will feel coherent and good#And also... I'd miss him I think. As much as characters can be missed in this game#since every introduction and story has been kind of rushed and our time with every character not that long#It takes time to build intimacy and fondness and we go through worlds and dynamics/relationships so quickly they all feel so superficial#But I find myself thinking that I would. I would miss him. Or the idea of him#I would feel the lack of expecting or hoping for him to appear in the future#I would miss the idea of coming to miss him#Which I guess in a roundabout way means I would miss him#I was going to delete this but I'll save the tags for a bit I want to write something down

Sunday
#Okay but. I may die haha#I was scrolling down this artist's blog because they posted an amazing WIP of Jack and behold the amazing Sunday I had queued for some time#The character that got me interested because he reminded me of Jack#And damn is his expression wonderful as it is Jack's#(his softness in thst context called my attention in the best most juicy way. How soothing and languidly elegant. How beautiful)#This Sunday piece is everything. I love his calm smile with that deranged eye‚ the half veiled face‚#the part shown partly concealed by his hand#And what you can see is spattered in blood. wow. I'm going to be disappointed if Sunday doesn't turn out to be even half as this piece is#Anyway... Bskfbskd I had to come to the sideblog and reblog this before losing it again in the queue#The excitement I felt weeks ago when I saw this Sunday. The excitement I felt when I saw that Jack#The excitement I felt just minutes ago when I saw it was the same artist haha damn. Truly the expressions are what make these characters#And the style is so pretty#I could dance with to the tune of the harmony of the spheres right low haha made my day#Sunday#art#I talk too much#AAAAAHHHHHHH ABFOBAFKNABD#They're also the artist for that amazing dark piece of Blade in the water and that other one of Jing Yuan with the Thunder Lord#that's mainly monochrome and yellow#Two of my fave pieces in the whole fandom for those characters sbfkabfk#I could even sing along to the harmony of the spheres haha

Torn between "they're woobifying Aventurine too much to appeal to people who can't stand the idea of liking villainous characters" and "they're heathclif.fying Aventurine and that's catnip to me"
#If they do keep heathclif.fying him this is going to suck for me because I would have two Heathclif.f adjacent characters#and one would lean more towards the orphic and Jack side#while the other perhaps more towards the Odysseu.s/all for keeping alive/that other side of Jack/plays with words side#I adore both sides#And I think it's exceedingly interesting what they're doing with those thought experiments/game theory eidolons#What it brings to his characterisation and even the concept of deals/gambling#This game made Divination in the Luofu mainly a thing of analysing patterns and is making gambles so much a thing of game theory#And it fits so much with Aventurine over and over saying he's trustworthy because if you do have trust in the other person in some of those#thoughts experiments‚ then the outcome is often overall more convenient for both parties. It's super super interesting#The fact that it's or can be so closely related to logic is such an interesting choice and yet so fitting#and goes so well with again Penacony and ironically so well with Aventurine's whole deal. I'm so down for it#Anyway... I'm loving him. I only hope they don't make him so much of a sob story he ends up being only a wet dog so to speak#That they don't forget he can also be ruthless and all that. Because I do love that side of him too#And as I said before‚ he can do whatever he wants at this point‚ set on fire the IPC‚ Penacony or the Express for convenience#Or revenge#He has gained the right haha#I talk too much#I should probably delete this later
