Hey! So I've been following you since you posted a lot about good omens in 2019ish? I remember you talking about wing fics vividly, but I just want to ask:
How are you doing after season 2?
Good! I enjoyed season 2, and I look forward to seeing how things resolve in season 3.
I think there are a lot of folks upset about various things, for various reasons, a lot of which boil down to "the season didn't go how I wanted it to/thought it should go" or "the season didn't end wrapped up neatly like S1 did." Neither of which, imo, are fair judgments of a season that a) isn't that person's story and b) was meant to be a bridge not an ending. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, of course, and to their feelings, but I do wonder how many have taken honest assessment of those feelings and opinions.
In my opinion, it's unfair to claim a story is bad JUST because it didn't do what you wanted it to do. It's not a bad story just because characters didn't act how you predicted or wanted, either. Some of the responses I've seen hinge almost entirely on "but canon didn't do what fanon/I decided is best" usually with the caveat of "before I even saw the season" and that's... ignoble at best. It's fair to criticize poor storytelling, but I feel like you have to have the whole story, or most of it, to do that, and we don't have that. We're actually smack in the middle of the story, by my judgment.
This season was never meant to be The Whole Story, we have known for a long time that there is a season 3 planned (whether or not it's ever able to come to fruition is a separate issue, it has been planned since a long time ago). As such, I don't think it's fair at all to the story to be angry that the season didn't stop at a nice, neat, happily-ever-after, because this isn't the end of the story.
To quote one of my favorite authors, Peter S. Beagle: "Things must happen when it is time for them to happen. Quests may not simply be abandoned; prophecies may not be left to rot like unpicked fruit; unicorns may go unrescued for a very long time, but not forever. The happy ending cannot come in the middle of the story."
They cannot have a happy ending until they've fixed the problems, and even before the end scene there, problems abounded. The unicorns are still unrescued. It's still the middle of the story.

thinking about a stoncy dynamic that’s not romantic or sexual or necessarily even platonic, but it used to be all or some of those things, and now it’s like they don’t know each other really at all anymore unless there’s danger, and then they immediately fall into perfect step with each other without even noticing
they don’t talk and they kinda avoid each other socially after they tried out every configuration of the three of them and none of them worked, but the minute a threat appears suddenly they’re flanking each other without having to discuss it. they fall into battle formation without even a glance. they always know where the other two are in a melee, they don’t have to check. it’s instinctive- stay equidistant, fan out, protect the party. one of them loses their weapon and one of the others throws them another, and they catch it and keep fighting. neither one looks, neither one breaks stride. they move around each other on reflex, like magnets.
just battle-hardened kids who are awkward as hell kids but also seasoned warriors who know each other down to their bones, but only in a fight.
something something the only place you fit in my life anymore is with your back pressed to mine and your weapon raised

bro. i completely fucked up my headphones case (stupid mistake. my fault) (my poor beloved headphones) the other day and ordered the newer version of the same thing bc my same ones wouldn’t arrive in time for my trip (leaving thursday) and they were on sale ($38!) (i have off brand bluetooth ear buds) (i’m not spending $100 on headphones sorry) (my cheap ones work just fine) and the new ones came today and the sound quality was absolutely awful. tinny and horrible. and they wanted me to download an APP!! waste of money and time. so disappointing. however i did just find my same ones (they could never let me down) on walmart dot com (for $44. acceptable) and they are supposed to arrive on wednesday. pray for me

wait I’m thinking of haikaveh 13 going on 30 au …… but instead of 13 it could be post akademiya fallout. kaveh wishing that he never met alhaitham, and he never worked in this project to begin with, and he swears that he can be successful without this joint project and in 20 years he’ll be the most famous architect in sumeru all the while sticking to his own philosophy and ideals. then cue kaveh waking up 20 years older in fontaine. he’s a celebrity and he learns that he’s not just famous in sumeru, but in all of teyvat. he runs his own design firm and there’s a studio in every region. life is good for him, except that alhaitham is completely out of his life.

even if their ages did work their personalities are terrible for each other, all they would ever do is make each other upset it would be super toxic
nooo but literally... i do not think they are on the same level of openness at all and while i do love them being great friends i think them being in a relationship would put a lot of pressure on their characteristics that clash hard and barring the ages i can understand shipping something that isnt 100% healthy and will crash and burn but sonamy fans.... dont do that <3
