#shut up danni's talking#hi yes i always feel happy as FUCK when i read a v long fic but doubly so when i realise that i caught up before the end#i have spend idk how long maybe 4/5 days reading a 700k+ word fic#w only two more chapters left and i just. oh BOY#i cannot even begin to get into all the details i adore about this fic#and yes i am absolutely talking abt mortified#i spent the majority of the time listening to it via text to speech while playing mindless games#but when i got to the parts i hadn't read before (like the last 50 chaps i think) i had to give it my full attention#i just. there is so much i love.#it just adds so many aspects of world building that feels so right that its almost unnatural when i see things that goes against it#i just.#also theres no shortage of pride in there too bc wow 700k words in under a week? deffo good#HOWEVER my goal w listening to it rather than reading was hopefully something that'd take longer#considering how i read faster than it takes to speak things alas i'll have to wait for chapters again which is weird#i have been behind on it for so long#i have this mega word doc summarising the fic that i was working on to help me keep up w plot threads#and im not joking abt the mega its mammoth and i gave up in parts#i'll probs work on it as i reread it again at some point#its deffo smth i'm gonna share when its done bc i it is LONG and i know ppl don't have as much time as i do#but i want the opportunity for ppl to not balk at the size of the fic to not even attempt to read it#or if they want to read it but can only read a chapter a day so they'll need a reminder#one of the things i'll always be thankful for in fanfics is when ppl bookmark fics with a summary of the plot#its just. its reassuring to me to know vaguely what's going to happen#esp bc some plot elements will always instantly call to me#i can't begin to tell you how many fics i've ebbed and erred on but were ultimately swayed by bookmarkers' summaries#also i like to reread seconds of fics if i don't reread the whole thing#so knowing where those sections are located is v v helpful#anyways thats my lil fan project for mortified lol#always get a lil flustered when i interact w the author bc WOW the skill????? the dedication??? always a lil in awe#now to zone out and stare at my ceiling trying to process that masterpiece

What are your personal favorite Gallavich fics?
OKAY, BUCKLE IN!
I actually answer this fic and Tumblr like glitched and deleted it and I was crushed about it, but now I'm back. Ready to tackle this again!
First off, I have 90 Gallavich fics bookmarked. So let's start with the fact that I have a lot of fics that I LOVE and I'm going to link you right here to my Gallavich Bookmarks, should you want to look. I didn't add to my list any purely smutty fics and I have A LOT of amazing ones Bookmarked.
That being said, here are my personal standouts. I'm NOT putting these in order of how much I like them, because I would simply die on the spot under that kind of pressure.
BELOW THE READ MORE: 25 FIC RECS & SHORT RAVE REVIEWS
Life, or Something by @palepinkgoat
This fic encapsulates a lot of things that I crave in a fic that is designed specifically for my tastes. Personal journeys that begin rocky and work toward healing. Dark themes that are treated in a very matter-of-fact way instead of rolling in angst. The growth of mental health. You'll probably see those themes a lot in the fics I love. I also have a fascination with all things death, as someone who has almost died many times and who struggles with a chronic illness. This fic is so. . .beautiful? Articulate. FEELING. I love everything about it.
Belladonna by devovitsuasartes
Oh, THIS. Oof. Okay, this is fantasy HOW I WANT IT. So intricate, so unique, so embedded into the world-building that isn't word-dumped on us with exposition, but SHOWN to us. Witches and forced familiars, complicated family dynamics, rough pasts, coming full circle between the beginning and the end. Emotional journeys, coming back from tough experiences, PINING. This is the fantasy for ME.
Is There Somewhere by andchaos
Soulmates! Soulmarks! Mute Ian who is really fucking funny and sweet and Mickey who doesn't think he has a soulmate because he has no 'first words said to me' mark. I love the dance, I love their rapport, I love how warm this fic is. I've read it several times for comfort.
You Can Bite Me by @goodkwuestion
It's easy as breathing to love all of this author's fics, but this is the one for me, and it has nothing to do with the fantasy vampire aspect. This is one of the only fics that has made me cry. I don't cry from fics, almost ever. The write in this goes from hilarious, witty, clever, and sharp, and then swoops you into appreciating the beauty and sanctity of life, traversing the journey of loss and grief, embracing the passage of time, welcoming love into your life, and simply embracing what it means to be human. This fic touched me in ways I'll never be able to express without a five page essay.
Etherized Against The Sky by Snarfle
A canon-divergent story from 1x09 onward. I couldn't put this into words if I tried, because it is EVERYTHING. Everything that I could ever want in a canon compliant type of fic. Holy shit, does this make me ache. It explores so many facets of their growth, mental health, self-acceptance, found family, rebuilding blood family, and learning how to live in the world of Shameless, but this time, thriving. A complete work of art.
You make me feel human by Dragona
Listen. LISTENNN. Are you listening? Anything that is considered a 'dark' AU is going to be my jam. Anything that dips its toe or severed foot into Hannibal or Murder Husbands type worlds are not just up my alley, but they're leading right up to my fucking house and knocking on the door. This is it, folks! This is the one! No one did it like this fic did it! PLUS: A happy ending? Bitch, I'm on the ground.
My Nine Lovers by @annatrow
While we're talking kiss kiss bang bang gun boyfriends, let's just slap this fic right down here, because holy fuck, I have read it at least three times. The pining? The smut? The secrets? SEXY MURDER BOYFRIENDS TURNED HUSBANDS??? Yeah, honey, I'm here in the front row with my little #1 fingie! My Bookmark comment says "This was so fucking clever and reverent and heartening and joyful."
The Mask of Insanity by @annatrow
Yeah yeah, I am trying to pick only one per author, but I simply cannot with this one. It's so fucking gritty and smart and sharp and emotional. Full of depth, character growth, strange life coincidences, bad boys and good guys and where they fall in between together. I'm big on fics that make you fall down, get scraped up real good, then pick you up by the armpits and say, bitch, we're got more to go!
Conflict of Interest by @thisdivorce
Everyone and their mom knew this was coming. It has everything I crave in a fic. Exceptional characterization. Deeply flawed, real humans living through real life events. The struggles of being queer and unsupported, specifically within the trans community. Journeys through mental health and the pitfalls of navigating the world when you don't see it as clearly as others might. Tearing and screaming out of the confines you've built around yourself, even if they're comfortable and safe, but knowing it's no longer right for you. This fic as everything and more and I've read it three times now because it fills my heart.
(And since this author is possibly probably my fav ever in this fandom, check out WIPs Reckoner and Change Like Shifting Shadows because their writing speaks to my pain and love on a bone deep level.)
Burden of Proof by DodgerBear
Okay, I really fucking like crime fics. Whether on the good side, bad side, or grey side, I love crime fics. This one is soooooo good, and I LIVE for the pining, the draw between them, the SPICE. Please! This is so fucking well done! Whip smart and sexy!
(and shout out to WIP by the same author, Quatervois, for which I will wait an eternity to update, I don't care, go read it NOW.)
Wild West Ian and Mickey by 09cityskylights
Always always always, I will be invested in Western AUs. Any fandom, anywhere, any time. I love for Westerns and this author does it so perfectly. I fucking adore this journey and I can't recommend it enough.
Can't Figure You Out by Crimson_Bebop
If I'm going to pick one office AU from the lot (and there's so many good ones, check out this post for more), it's gonna be this. It's nerve-wrecking, hot as hell, an emotional rollercoaster. You're rooting for both of them so badly, but they both require different but equally important things in their lives, and finding that middle ground is MESSY.
Dancing After Death by @squidyyy23
Oh man. Oh shit. I don't know where or hot to start, because this combines two of my fav things, Sons of Anarchy with Shameless. It combines them, yes, but more important, this is completely it's own beast with an incredibly detailed timeline of events. It's hot as all HELL, it's gritty, it's real, it's loving and tender and difficult and highly charged with emotion and struggle. LIVING FOR IT. I have read this three times.
Teenagers Scare The Living Shit Out Of Me by Mellow_Yellow
Oh hey, we're back at the Lala Loves Murder & Crime Show, and yeah, this one is FULL of it. It's so fucked up. It's so well written. The character growth is fucking A+, the murder reveal is exceptional, the mystery is FRAUGHT WITH DANGER. Guys! It's so fucking GOOD!
Teenage Dirtbag by @celestialmickey
Hah. . .I have read this three times. I'll never have read it enough times. Ian is 17 in 1999 here and I was 12 at the time, so everything this fic speaks to speaks of my entire adolescence and I just. Deeply cherish every moment. I savor every chapter of slow build. I revel in their victories. I sing along to all of their songs that I already know by heart, I wiggle in my seat to the Spotify soundtrack, I live for the vingettes of their happy ending. This fic is so magicl and wias written with such love and care.
you'll never see us again by @spoonfulstar
Okay okay okay, listen to me. Yes, we ALL love Intro to Quantum Dating by this author. I fucking adore it. I open it up at random chapters just to read and make myself smile. But THIS FIC??? THIS ONE??? You have got to be kidding me. I cried. I fucking yearned. I hurt, I hurt so bad down to my toes, and I smiled when things went right, and I teared up when it didn't, and I hoped and prayed for a happy ending, and yes I got one that was fulfilling and beautiful and poignant. Did the fact that I am a kidney transplant recipient play into my deep-seeding feelings about this fic? Absolutely. Do I think everyone should read this fic to grasp what exceptional storytelling looks like? BIG TIME.
Solid Skies and Slate-Blue Earth Below by @sentimentalspiders
This is one of the weirdest fucking fics I"ve ever read and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. Best alien!Ian! Exceptional, fascinating, vivid writing style! The narrative is articulated in such an ethereal, out-of-the-box way that is perfectly fits a story that is about an alien and a very lost man. It's SOOO COOL.
Brand Spanking New by J_Q
I don't know what to tell you. Micky gets sent to a fuckin' retreat when he gets professionally spanked (by Ian) to fix his horrible behavior. He gets out of there and then he and Ian start a very detailed BDSM relationship. This is SOOO my wheelhouse of JOY, but if it is not yourself, y'know uh. I mean, I still recommend it anyway. It's so wildly delightful and hot as FUCK.
That's a Wrap by @crossmydna
Am I biased because this was written for me as a gift? Shut the fuck up, of course I am. But also, no, because well before Cross took on prompts, they were working on The Menagerie which is in my top five favorite Gallavich fics of all time, and I read it all the time AND YOU SHOULD TOO. Anyway, back to this fic. What can I say, it's EVERYTHING I WANT. Actor AUs! Meet Ugly, the hottest smut imaginable, banter that's sharp and strong, badass Ian & Mickey, everything everything everything.
The Stargazer by crazynadine
Hey yeah, hi, welcome to my Daddy Kink. There's a lot of it. Let me show you around, its got scrappy heart of gold sex worker Mickey, it's got age difference bearded and jaded by life Ian, it's got panties and road side motels, and secrets, jealousy, and hot hot hot smut, like holy shit. But if daddy kink is not your jam, then y'know. . .ahem.
The Question of Normal by blue_newman
Ian is a prison counselor and Mickey is in prison. The way that I LIVE for Ian breaching any of his professional protocols to help Mickey (this goes for so many fics in my bookmarked fics) is unholy, but how about you five me a fucking break okay. I just like it when they break the rules, as they should, because this is Shameless LOL. But seriously, this is so thoughtful and heartening and left me feeling really fucking right in the world after I read it.
Well, I hope this helped! This is only about a fifth of my Bookmarked fics, and I wanted to write about SO MANY MORE. Anyone is always welcome to ask me to rave about fics, I am always here for it lol.
I said this in the begining, but I have bookmaked A LOT of smut fics that I think are exceptional works, so I suggest you filter my Bookmarks by works under 10,000 words and you're gonna find 'em all.

if you wanna indulge me, id love to hear your opinions on sing (all of mine are detractory which i know isnt the complete view of the song)
omg id love too!! sorry this took me a sec to formulate post-work haha. i know we don't agree about sing but honestly that's the beauty of music opinions- I feel like it becomes easier to define what I like about things when faced with legit measured criticism anyway
for me, i want to start with the structure and instrumental since it's usually not mentioned (most of the criticisms of sing are exclusively lyrical or intention-focused). it's so cool. and evocative. and full of tension!! my favorite use of synth on danger days, plus the keys and the drums (man i love the dd studio musician drums lmao), really emphasizes sing as a suspended moment both in the album (necessary bridge, tonally, between bulletproof and planetary imo) and in the track itself- its alllll building up to that bridge and final chorus. but there's all these little pieces- the backing vocals, there's so many hidden guitar parts that riff just under all the noise, that opening like, tambourine. sorry for not having a quote on hand but Ray's said he really loved writing sing and it's so totally obvious to me. especially live- part of the reason I was soooooo excited for sing swarm tour edition is that even during dd ray was like absolutely shredding for sing after the bridge. and everytime time it's so good. part of the reason the lyrics don't bother me is sing could stand alone instrumentally and I'd still want to listen to it. (sing also reminds me of Ray's solo music- the sentiment is more significant that the lyrics and the music is itself a vehicle for storytelling)
also though, i think there's a lot of intention with sing (it's up to the listener to determine if that paid off obv) but within the context of dd the record as a pirate radio station, sing has always read as a trojan horse song. making it a single too, like once a song takes on a life of its own outside the record there's new meaning and circumstance. so both within and outside the killjoy universe sing is a vehicle for not just the bridge but the overall sentiment of dd (how fucking excited was gerard when glenn beck took the glee bait) like, yes, i do agree they could've benefited from another pass over the lyrics (i will always defend keeping "sing it till your nuts" bc its sounds like sing it to your nuts though) but I don't personally get the criticism that sing isn't "specific enough" about what exactly it's against or is too optimistic about "sing it for the world"-- i think there are songs on the album (notably planetary right after it!) which do that job just fine. dd is gerard in arguably top lyrical form so theres a lot of meat in the rest of the record like. sing it for the world is a purposely simplistic art is the weapon. like those are the same sentiments rendered very differently!
also like. i do think there was a very directed target at the younger part of their fan base here (girl/boy) which is sweet. to me. like i did hear sing first when i was a young teen (one of the few dd songs i was familiar with) and it did feel huge and empowering at that moment. my chem are their best when they are navigating the dualities of their specific fame, which includes simultaneously making very serious, adult rock music which is concerned with violence death grief and sex, as well as being a role model for younger people and taking them seriously and neither of these are in rhetorical conflict with each other. so like whatever sing is a little juvenile. but it's still filled with passion! taken as a legitimate project with a creative instrumental and a narratively-driven music video. I like that aspect, it works for me. I'll never call it my favorite my chem song but its certainly not the worst when you add in the bridge (i wanted to prove my point without the bridge but like. damn!! it's a good bridge!!!). that's my spiel.

So, yeah Palworld.
Despite the tone/direction of the hype, it's not really a replacement for Pokémon.
It is, however a replacement for ARK. And it's been quite good at that so far.
And considering the BS ARK pulled with their pricing and release plans and all that recently (not to mention their apparent utter aversion to optimizing the game even slightly - I'd really rather not have to dedicate nearly half of a hard drive to keeping it installed and updated, only for it to still struggle to run certain parts thank you very much), I know a lot of people that were looking for something to scratch that itch.
It might not be dinosaur-flavoured, but the mons are an appealing substitute on many levels. And the more direct automated use of them in more complex tasks is definitely a neat addition - And that's before even getting into the whole "parody of cute monster taming games" aspect - Which I don't think would have carried a game on its own for me, but is a solid enough flavour element here. Plus, expressly elemental creatures also creates more opportunities for use in the base system.
Also, as a quality of life thing - I really like that within a base, all storage is linked, so you can start building without having to go back and physically carry the materials to where you're using them. Hopefully though, a future update goes even further with this and has a system to link storage across all bases. So that you don't have to run, say, metal back and forth from the one base that produces it to others that have the more advanced production facilities.
Also - Battling/catching is a far less tedious system than KO'ing a critter and sitting there, keeping it unconscious and feeding it (especially feeding it only specific special optimum taming food) for hours to add a new critter to your team.
Something I hadn't thought of until just now - The Breath of the Wild-style movement/stamina system has felt very great! Movement feels speedy enough, the third-person perspective feels good for the sort of things you have to do, and being able to just start climbing is amazing! Something that's definitely lacking in both ARK and Pokemon (well, until you get the right upgrades in Sc/Vi, anyway). Is it the best implementation of such a system? Oh, definitely not, it still feels very unpolished compared to, say, BotW/TotK - But for this type of game, it's a very nice addition.
The actual battle system has very little in common with Pokémon - Not even something like Legends: Arceus. It's definitely much more of a free for all. It's honestly closer to Pikmin than Pokémon, but honestly still closest to stuff like ARK.
Anyway, yeah, it's been a solid zone-out and do tasks while watching YouTube/tv/whatever game, which has been a niche I've needed filled for a while. Much as I love Alan Wake 2 and my old standby Dead by Daylight - You do need to actively pay complete attention to those ones and can't have something else running alongside them.
The actual Pokémon has been sort of filling this role for a bit, but I've reached a point there where I'm just running around levelling my mons, which is fine, but familiar. Palworld is a new world to explore, with tasks that aren't quite as mindless. So it's a nice change of pace for the time being.
My sleep schedule however, is not a fan of the "Just one more thing..." Mentality I get from it (and a much of this whole genre).
------
One last note - The controversies.
Believe me, it absolutely raised my suspicions when I first heard about it overall - How could such a game not be a cheap cash-in? Probably just a bare bones, barely functional early-access asset flip game with a splash of edgy "pokemon (but just legally-distinct enough) but what if guns and expressly killing and eating them" for flavour/a gimmick, right?
But then it seemed like there was an actual game there. Systems had been thought out and appear functional - At least on a level that's on par with other decent early-access games. So, at least so far, it's not a cash-grab rip-off.
When was the other shoe going to drop?
Well, there's two drums people seem to beat loudly right now: "They're ripping off Pokemon and Nintendo's totally gonna shut them down!" And "The game totally uses AI for it's designs!", with a final offshoot of that to the effect of "This company's a scam!"
Well, to that first point - Nintendo is infamously litigious and very quickly moves to take down anything infringing on their copyrights. So, the fact that this game, being made by a "proper" development studio/company (ie: not just a couple of fans working on it as a hobby), which had publically discussed the making of the game over the past few years, made it to the point of early-access release without being taken down - That probably speaks to the "just-legally-distinct-enough" nature of their mon designs and capture systems, which are probably the two aspects most similar enough to raise eyebrows.
Now, certain visual elements do appear to be the same/incredibly similar - But I'm not sure that "facial features being used in conjunction with each other" is something they can copyright. As long as these devs/designers reverse-engineered their own versions of things, and didn't actually just rip Nintendo/Game Freak's models, I don't think there's much that actually is actionable there. The parody element is another angle that probably provides some broad cover as to the design similarity (in that you want people to clearly understand the reference you're making, so you want some similarities).
At any rate, I imagine the most profitable media franchise of all-time is probably gonna be just fine if someone makes allusions to them and their designs in an entirely different game. Pokemon doesn't really need anyone starting a crusade on its behalf, y'know?
To the stuff about the company (Pocketpair) itself. Well, there's a little more meat to those complaints there.
The big one - That AI was used in Palworld's design/development. That appears to be not true, or at the very least, not something that's been confirmed. If it were true, they'd have to disclose that for their Steam store page. So, at least, they did not openly use AI here (and its dev cycle began before the rise of the big AI boom, so it's less-likely that it was used). They'll probably face some sort of repercussions from Valve if they were deceptive about using AI, and there's not really a great reason to not be upfront about it, so, for now, I don't think they have used it here.
Believe me, if I suspected for a moment that AI was being used to cheat artists/designers out if work, I'd be out there, beating that drum too. But, given what evidence we have now, I just don't think they have for Palworld.
That being said...
Their CEO has definitely made some very sus statements about wanting to use AI going forward. Including comments about mon design in-general (nothing specific to Palworld, though, as far as I'm aware). And they have expressly used AI before, in their game AI: Art Imposter - So there is definitely a willingness on their part to use it (Though I'm not sure calling it 'Art Imposter' necessarily constitutes uncritical, effusive praise - But still, they used it in the game anyway). So that's definitely something to keep an eye on.
The whole situation with Pocketpair's other big game, Craftopia being an anime-styled, open world sandbox survival crafting game still in early-access definitely rubs some people the wrong way - Not the least of which are people who have been playing that game and feel as though they may have been playing an elaborate beta test that's going to be abandoned in favour of Palworld. And, like, I do get that - But, so far anyway, development appears to still be proceeding on Craftopia as well. So, I guess you can pick your preference from them - Whether you want the edgy Pokemon parody content in your game or you'd rather just have the "not-blocky Minecraft" type of stuff.
Ultimately, I don't think Pocketpair has any sort of loftier, noble ideals about being a better kind of gaming company or anything. They're certainly not a company that has earned any great leeway or trust from me - But they're definitely not just a cut-and-run scamming asset flipper gaming Steam's storefront.
I won't say Palworld is a "completely unproblematic fave forever" or anything like that, but from what I've been able to find, there's nothing in it/it's development history right now that makes it morally objectionable enough to avoid in my books. It's fine.
It's fine.
Other people might have different standards for what's unforgivable; but, the controversies about it definitely seem overblown or misrepresented - In my mind, at least. Its premise certainly could be alienating to a lot of people - But if you don't want to play it, you don't have to. If you don't like it, you can just say as much. You don't need to build it up into a whole big moral crusade to justify not really feeling like playing it. That's fine.
That's fine.

got back in sims 4 cause i missed my sims so much, but i'm struggling with the immersion especially the world-wise. wanted to ask how do you deal with it?? cause you're right when you say it really breaks the game + was wondering if your save is a base game/ea save that you're modifying with lots and tool as you go on or if you started with a blank save or something like the plumbob kingdom one that already had some tool in it
Weirdly enough I don’t use custom saves, so I just fill worlds with lots I find here or on the gallery as I need them. I use TOOL, but sparingly, since despite being useful, it’s still quite time consuming, and I spend long enough working on sims and actual lots as is. Especially since it isn’t so much how the world looks that pulls me out of it, but how tiny, empty, useless, and sometimes void of other sims they feel. Sims walk around it yes, but it’s obvious that they’re just there for the purpose of convincing you the world isn’t empty, so it all ends up feeling very Truman Show, as opposed to The Sims 3 where they walk around town, bc they actually have things to do, and jobs to tend to.
Now I’ll be honest, there really isn’t any way to avoid a lot of these feelings, I’ve tried, but this game will always find a way of frustratingly reminding me these problems exist, but I think the most I really enjoy playing this game is when I create a household I really like ( or a few to rotate through ), and build the world up around them for their specific needs. Giving them plenty to do off of their home lot helps keep things interesting, if for a while until you burn out, bc sadly the biggest issue The Sims 4 has is that its just very limited, in almost all aspects save a few.
You need to be willing to micromanage, and fill in a lot of the blanks with your own imagination, bc many of the systems and gameplay to do that for you is virtually non-existent, or stuck in the UI, and mods can only add so much to a game that lacks a lot of the content it needs to build off of.
This does have its pluses though if you’re a generally creative person, who doesn’t mind interpreting stories through pictures, but if you’re just purely playing ( as opposed to posting ), you’d probably be better off focusing on challenges, or idk, building a giant death trap for a bunch of unlucky sims to see who survives, as I’ve done at times when regular gameplay gets boring, although at that point I’d just likely play something else. 😆

DL1 is a great game whose one main issue is the story. The gameplay is well balanced, and the parkour aspects can be tough at first but you can adapt. The story feels short and flat, predictable, and you'd expect DL2, to fix it, which it doesn't.
DL2's story is filled with plot holes, inconsistencies, just flat out lack of attention to detail and the devs just going "eh I don't feel like doing that" with so many things it's fascinating. Choosing a side doesn't do shit as far as the main story is concerned.
The staggering amounts of needlessly cut content and constant, and I do mean CONSTANT shifts in what the game was supposed to be during development made this worse, but didn't cause all the problems.
Just the map feels inorganic. DL1's slums were great due to the different levels the game would take you through. The starting point, the Tower and its surroundings, have relatively low buildings closely together, allowing inexperienced and low-level players to be eased into the parkour aspect rather than just dropped in head first. What's more, there are hills, bodies of water, unique buildings- landmarks that aren't necessary to the main quests that make the world feel alive. Harran is a living, breathing city with a history and a reason to be the way it is, split between absolute poverty and fancy, modern buildings that most of its native population won't ever visit.
Old Villedor is flat and hastily constructed with every building looking the same, except for when the storyline demands you to go somewhere and do something, in which case you'll get a tower or maybe a church. Everything is level and thus boring.
The movement, while fine in most part, lacks in climbing. DL1's parkour was janky, rough but with great flow. You could feel Crane fighting for his life when he just barely grabbed onto a ridge or jumped up while climbing.
DL2 aims for a more fluid, floaty feeling, which doesn't work well when you start climbing and Aiden constantly pauses in nonsensical places, or starts going down instead of up or grabbing onto random shit when you want him to jump. I don't actually have a problem with the different direction for what it's supposed to feel like, it's just not done well in some areas.
This brings me onto one of my main issues gameplay wise. The fucking key bind combinations.
See, in DL1, all you needed apart from the standard movement buttons was C, E and B, with the combinations required for certain tasks not overlapping. Run, jump, press E, and you get a kick. Jump, press LMB, you smash an enemy head in.
DL2 makes you do a whole series of tricks before letting you just stomp an enemy's head. Instead of having a specific weapon type for a 360° attack, you press LMB and Tab at the same time (???) and maybe you get it right. You need Tab, Ctrl, C, E, often in weird combinations in incredibly specific moments that make it feel tedious.
The skill tree is poorly balanced. Instead of adding a lot of passive abilities, or affecting your crafting/bartering system, most of DL2's unlockable skills add an active skill. It quickly becomes overwhelming.
DL2 fails because it changes things that didn't require it, and keeps the issues from the first game. DL1's graphics, for a game that's 8 years old, hold up spectacularly well. The world feels alive and moving. The game is terrifying at times, and even during the day, it's eerie to see everything just stopped in time. Shops are open and their signs are on, posters welcome you to Harran, the Stuffed Turtle is still blaring its tune.
Of course, with the large time-skip, DL2 is going to have a different atmosphere, but seeing survivors on every corner while you're lucky to find a group of more than 5 zombies at once takes away from that lonely, uneasy feeling. I've found that the fear and panic of the first game turns into simple stress in the sequel- and not the fun kind. The night-time chases are boring, because there's random safe points strewn about the map, and the removal of the look back while you run feature doesn't help. The new volatile designs also just don't hit the same imo. The red, visceral aspect of the original designs is much more interesting than the grayish skin in DL2.

hello everyone, annoying spaniard here!!! these last few days i've been stressing over assignments so i didn't have time or will to post one of these, but i'm back and this post is gonna be a bit longer so yay!
if you don't know what i'm doing, i'm just playing pokemon scarlet and violet and commenting on any references to my culture i come across :) here's my previous post btw
let's start with porto marinado's marketplace!! markets are big in spain, they can be found all throughout the country and i feel there's not a single market that served as inspiration for the paldean one, below i'll just add the ones i know the most / the most representative ones: the la cebada and san miguel markets in madrid, the la boquería market in barcelona, and the central market in valència
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
staying on this topic, i also really like kofu as a gym leader and specifically as a chef! as you could already imagine by looking at paldea, food is incredibly important in spain, it is part of our cultural identity and it plays a huge part in almost every aspect of daily life. there's 283 michelin stars in the country, and spanish chefs have won the title of best chefs in the world on numerous occasions. cooking shows are very popular, and in most of them there's always a section where the chef goes to the market to get fresh produce, just like kofu does! his personality reminds me a lot of famous tv chef karlos arguiñano, while his design is more similar to chef josé andrés, an incredible human being who's done a lot of humanitarian aid around the world and who recently got awarded with a honorific plaque in kyiv by ukrainian president zelensky as well as with the order of honor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i've already commented on this but i hadn't seen the actual postal office building until now; the colour of mail service here is yellow, just like in the games :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i found a new restaurant which means new food yay!!!
Tumblr media
the first dish is just pintxos, similar to tapas but make them basque, and that area is really big on fish and seafood so it makes sense than their pokemon counterpart also has them!
even if arroz con leche is usually associated with argentina, it actually originated in spain and it is a traditional dessert still handmade in rural areas and widely consumed all over the country
ceviche is peruvian!
the fourth dish is probably a reference to espetos
the fifth is just pasta lol
even though levincia is 100% inspired in valència, both because of its location and its modern / technological look (also its name), the business area looks like it took inspiration on the cuatro torres business area and the AZCA district in madrid, the heart of business stuff in the country.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(btw the four towers in the pic are now five so much closer to their pokémon counterparts)
also as a quick note i find very funny the fact that the largest company in paldea seems to be a construction one, as the 2008 spanish economic crisis started (among other factors) due to the high speculation within that sector lol
Tumblr media
i also find iono a hilarious concept for a paldean gym leader cause streamers are actually very popular in spain, i would say most young people (including myself) follow at least one streamer, and just looking at the top streamers list for november 2022, i'm counting 4 spanish streamers in the top 50 of the world. spanish youtubers are pretty high in the hispanic twitch community and for what i've seen on the internet recently younger latines are beginning to associate spain with twitch and streamers which lol. and of course, i cannot talk about spanish streamers without talking about ibai llanos, probably the most influential person to young people right now in the country (and a pretty good influence that is); he has the 4th most-followed twitch channel in the world, he's won the streamer of the year award in 2020 and 2021, held many irl events that have broken twitch view records, and has managed to rival mainstream television. in fact, spanish television seems to hold an absurd grudge against streamers and sees them as direct competitors, it's all very bizarre and makes all of iono's thing even funnier.
Tumblr media
also - and i realise this is only a thing that happens in the spanish version of the game but it brought me immense joy and i wanted to share it with you - all of iono's lines and in general all of her gym was full of references to twitter memes and basically internet slang, it was both delightful and painful. here are some of my favorites:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
she would say 'hacer la combatición' ('do the fightation') instead of 'combatir' ('fight'), and this is a reference to twitter slang; instead of saying 'morir' ('die') people would just type 'hacer la morición' ('do the diation'). it's just a funny and nonsensical way of saying it, that's it. also i've said this irl so it's one of those expressions capable of jumping outside of the internet into everyday vocabulary
at one point she calls you 'monstro/a' ('monster'), which is an expression the singer and celebrity rosario flores uses during the the voice auditions (she's a coach there) a lot, to the point it became a meme.
this one made me holler because it is one of my favourite expressions and one i use all the time... anyways when you defeat this trainer (i believe he's the first one?) he says 'emosido ganados' ('we have been beaten'). the correct way of writing that phrase is 'hemos sido ganados', and it is a reference to this graffitti which has become a staple in the twitter reaction meme repertoire ('emosido engañado' reads 'we have been fooled', the correct way of writing it is 'hemos sido engañados'). i unfortunately also say this one irl from time to time rip me
and that's all for this post!! i hope you liked it!
here's next post :)

Press Release: Southstar Drug x Maxicare Fun Run in Naga City
Why Running is a Must-Add to Your Wellness Routine
Did you know that running has been proven to make your brain literally grow by aiding in the creation of new brain cells? This helps improve a person’s overall cognitive function and reduce cognitive decline when done regularly. Aside from this, there’s a plethora of other health benefits that you can enjoy when you start lacing your shoes and getting those steps in every day. Read along to know more!.
Strengthens bones and muscles
Because it’s a high impact exercise, running helps improve bone health and can increase bone density. The stress applied to your legs, pelvis, and spine whenever you run allows the bones to repair and strengthen themselves. Similarly, running also helps build muscles in the lower body, particularly the glutes, thighs, and calves.
With strong bones and muscles, you are more protected from injuries plus your balance, coordination, and flexibility are also improved.
Reduces risk of chronic diseases
Various studies have already proven that regular physical activity like running can prevent and/or better manage chronic health conditions such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol that lead to heart diseases as well as diabetes and many forms of cancer. Together with the right diet and healthy lifestyle choices, running can improve the quality of your life so you can be at your best every day, not just for yourself but for your family as well.
Enhances mental well-being
Do you ever notice how your mood always seems to be much better after a good workout? It’s the endorphins and serotonin working their magic! Aside from improved mood, running also works like meditation in the sense that it can give you peace of mind and allow you to stay in the present, helping you manage and relieve the stresses of daily life. So the next time you feel overwhelmed or anxious, consider going for a run for an instant pick-me-up.
Interestingly, adopting running in your day-to-day routine enables you to improve other aspects of your health and wellness, including what you eat, how many hours you sleep at night, setting goals, and taking control of your time. This holistic approach is what Southstar Drug and Maxicare aim to promote through Run for Wellness.

Endless Ocean Luminous is here! I can't find any websites where I can post my review without being an actual paid article writer, so I guess I'm posting it here.
First, let me start with some background.
I got the first Endless Ocean game for my 10th birthday back in 2008, and the second one for my 12th birthday in 2010. They were my first real video games, and I loved them dearly. I have been literally dreaming of a third game since finishing the second one, so when I saw the trailer for Endless Ocean Luminous, I preordered the game right away. My dreams were coming true! Surely they can't mess up an Endless Ocean game, right?!
Judging by my tone, you can probably tell that this will not be a kind review.
When you open the game, you get a splash screen while it loads before it goes to the main menu. The main menu has several options, but most importantly it differentiates between story mode, solo dives, and multi-player dives. I went straight to the story mode because that was the best part of the old games and what I was looking forward to.
Which brings me to the first problem: the story mode. It's…VERY basic. Each chapter is atrociously short. Most of the objectives are placed directly in front of you, and once you reach them, you get some dialogue and then the chapter is over. The story itself is shallow. There's a world-ending threat to the ocean that you can solve by scanning fish. It would feel more important if there was more time to build the world and get to know the only two NPCs (one of which is your ai dive guide, while the other is more akin to a dive buddy who's just a recolor of your own model), but there's just not that much focus put on the story mode. In fact, you are required to play the solo or multi-player dives just to progress in the story mode, as each chapter has an unlock requirement of scanning an obscene number of fish. It really feels like the devs were trying to artificially inflate the play time when they did this. Anyway, fish in such numbers can only be found in the non-story dives.
So let's talk about the solo dives, as I have not gotten to play the multi-player dives just yet. If you don't have friends with a copy of the game, solo dives are where the bulk of the game takes place. There's a lot to talk about here, from the missing features from previous games to the new features of this one.
There are three new features: scanning fish, the "ever-changing" map, and the UMLs, or Unique Marine Life.
Scanning the fish was obviously meant as a quality-of-life improvement, but instead just adds to the impersonal feel of the game. In the old games, the player could only focus on one fish at a time. It felt personal and even a bit special. The first game went so far as to make you earn a fish's trust before you discovered its info. In Endless Ocean Luminous, however, you can scan many, many fish at the same time. Scrolling over their name in the list of fish you scanned last will give you its information. You can read through it, but why would you? There's at least 500 fish in the game, and why would you waste your time reading optional information when there's other fish to be scanned? In my opinion, the scanner function is a product of the lack of care from the devs and the increased importance put on the numbers aspect. It's all about the grind.
Meanwhile, the "ever-changing" map is basically just battleship, but it's topographical features instead of ships. The whole dive map is gigantic—big enough to take multiple hours to map the whole thing—with several features plopped into it. These are the battleships, which I will be calling biomes for simplicity. Each biome has a specific selection of fish only one map that might be flipped or rotated and placed multiple times on the same dive map. (To be clear, the biomes are not placed by the player. That is not a feature of this game, and it was never advertised to be.) Unfortunately, most of the biomes are quite small, and there are only enough on the dive map to cover maybe 60% of the map? Which leaves 40% of the map as basically-empty seafloor. Having the "ever changing" map work like this just feel LAZY. And this will not be the last time that word is brought up.
The UMLs are probably the most solid part of Endless Ocean Luminous. They're the legendary creatures of this installment. (Not to be confused with the legendary creatures from the old games, which are now scattered liberally throughout the solo dive maps) There is only one per dive map, though you can make it appear multiple times with enough grinding. To make a UML appear, you have to find fish with "unusual biological signatures." These fish will pixelate when you scan them, along with playing a sudden, jarring sound. The effect never fails to make me jump, and is extremely immersion-breaking. Once you find one of these fish, the rest you need for the UML to appear will be marked on your map. The problem HERE lies in the fact that the part of the map getting marked has to be FILLED IN for the mark to be visible. Again, it takes HOURS to fill in the map, so a lot of the search for these fish is just blindly scanning everything in front of you. The UMLs themselves are pretty neat, at least.
Now for the removed features. The removal of one of these features is a boon, but the rest are removed at a detriment to the game.
The one thing I'm glad they removed is dangerous animals attacking you. It makes sense that they removed it, though, as the way that was implemented in Blue World (Endless Ocean 2) was that getting hurt depleted some of your air. There is no air gauge in Luminous.
As for the removals that negatively impact the game…you can't ride the whales. You can't pet, poke, grab, feed, or whistle at the fish. You CAN have fish follow you, but you actually have to level up that feature now. You can't surface, let alone walk on land. There's no underwater pen. There's no zoom mode (which means no sea slugs!! Biggest L for this game I swear). There's no diving with non-player dive buddies. There's no aquarium. There's no dive-level progression, as you don't have to unlock diving abilities like deep-water diving or night diving. In fact, time of day is meaningless. It might be present, but without being able to surface it's hard to tell since you have a dive light.
The music very rarely plays, and there's no lyrical music that I've encountered at all. It's all new too, which upset me until I heard one track from Blue World and realized that hearing music from the beloved older games in this one? Just made me ANGRY. When you find yourself thinking that a game doesn't deserve to use music from its predecessors, and that the nods to the previous games are actually insults to said previous games (I'm looking at you, old legendary creatures)…well. That's when you know that the devs fucked up.
Overall, the game feels like a lazily designed waste of time, and frankly it's insulting to try to pretend otherwise. This is not an Endless Ocean game. This is the husk of a dead IP. The soul moved on a long time ago.

Why We Chase Victories in the Online Gaming World
The world of online gaming has exploded in popularity, captivating millions worldwide. But what drives this fascination? Why do we spend countless hours battling opponents, conquering challenges, and chasing victories in virtual landscapes? The answer, like the games themselves, is multifaceted, weaving together the threads of human psychology, social interaction, and the pursuit of mastery.
The Dopamine Rush: A Reward System Built for Success
At the core of our drive to win lies the powerful neurotransmitter, dopamine. This chemical plays a crucial role in the brain's reward system, flooding us with feelings of pleasure and satisfaction when we achieve a goal or overcome a challenge. Online games are expertly crafted to tap into this system, offering a steady stream of dopamine hits with each victory, point earned, or level unlocked. Whether it's dominating the leaderboard or completing a particularly difficult quest, these successes trigger a positive reinforcement loop, motivating us to keep playing and striving for the next win.
Beyond the Win: Building Social Connection and Camaraderie
Gaming isn't just about individual triumphs; it's often a deeply social experience. Online games foster communities where players can connect, collaborate, and forge friendships with like-minded individuals. Guilds, teams, and chat rooms provide a platform for players to share strategies, celebrate victories, and commiserate over losses. This sense of belonging and camaraderie adds another layer of enjoyment to the experience, making victories even sweeter when shared with a supportive group.
Tumblr media
The Pursuit of Mastery: Honing Skills and Pushing Limits
For many players, the allure of online gaming lies in the constant opportunity to learn and improve. Games provide a safe and engaging environment to develop strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and hand-eye coordination. Each match presents a new challenge, pushing players to adapt their tactics, refine their skills, and strive for mastery. Overcoming increasingly difficult obstacles and mastering complex mechanics offers a deep sense of accomplishment and a testament to one's dedication and growth.
The Escapism Factor: Immersing in a World of Fantasy
Online games offer a unique form of escape from the everyday. They transport us to fantastical worlds, allowing us to step into the shoes of powerful characters and embark on thrilling adventures. Whether it's exploring vast open worlds, engaging in epic battles, or building intricate creations, online games provide a much-needed respite from the mundane and allow us to explore different identities and experiences within a safe and controlled environment.
Beyond Victories: Finding the Right Balance
While the pursuit of victory can be a powerful motivator, it's important to remember that it's just one facet of the online gaming experience. It's crucial to cultivate a healthy relationship with gaming, prioritizing well-being and maintaining a balance with other aspects of life. Taking breaks, setting time limits, and focusing on the enjoyment of the experience, rather than solely on winning, can help prevent negative consequences and ensure gaming remains a fun and enriching activity.
Ready to Explore the World of Online Gaming?
If you're curious about the thrill of online gaming and the reasons behind its immense popularity, why not create a ทางเข้า w88 ใหม่ (new w88 entrance) and dive in? Embrace Style and Comfort: A Guide to Buying Big and Tall Jackets for Women
Introduction: In the realm of fashion, finding the perfect jacket can be transformative. However, for those who identify as big and tall, the search for stylish outerwear can sometimes feel like an uphill battle. Yet, the landscape of fashion is evolving, and inclusivity is at the forefront. Today, more brands are recognizing the need for diverse sizing options, catering to individuals of all shapes and sizes. If you're a woman who falls into the big and tall category, fear not! This guide is tailored to help you navigate the world of jackets, ensuring you find pieces that are not only fashionable but also flattering and comfortable.
Understanding Your Body Type: Before delving into the world of big and tall jackets, it's essential to understand your body type. Every individual is unique, and knowing your body shape can significantly aid in selecting garments that accentuate your best features. Whether you have an apple, pear, hourglass, or rectangular shape, there are jackets out there to complement your silhouette.
Choosing the Right Style: When it comes to selecting jackets for women in the big and tall category, the options are diverse. From classic denim jackets to cozy puffer coats, the key is to choose styles that align with your taste and lifestyle. Additionally, consider the versatility of the jacket—opting for pieces that can seamlessly transition from casual outings to more formal occasions.
Prioritizing Fit and Comfort: One of the most crucial aspects of buying big and tall jackets is ensuring proper fit and comfort. Ill-fitting jackets can not only detract from your overall look but also lead to discomfort and self-consciousness. Look for jackets with adjustable features such as drawstrings, elastic cuffs, and customizable hoods, allowing you to tailor the fit to your body.
Exploring Fabric and Material: The fabric and material of a jacket play a significant role in both its aesthetic appeal and functionality. For cooler climates, opt for jackets crafted from insulating materials like wool or fleece, providing warmth without adding bulk. Alternatively, lightweight and breathable fabrics such as cotton or polyester are ideal for transitional seasons or layering.
Tumblr media
Embracing Trends: While classic styles are timeless, don't be afraid to embrace current trends when shopping for big and tall jackets. Whether it's bold colors, statement prints, or innovative designs, incorporating trendy pieces into your wardrobe can add a modern flair to your look. Just remember to prioritize styles that make you feel confident and comfortable.
Finding Inclusive Brands: In recent years, there has been a notable shift towards inclusivity in the fashion industry, with many brands expanding their size ranges to accommodate a diverse range of body types. When shopping for big and tall jackets, seek out brands that prioritize inclusivity and offer extended sizing options. Additionally, don't hesitate to provide feedback to brands about the need for more diverse sizing—it can make a significant impact.
Conclusion: Finding the perfect jacket for a woman in the big and tall category may require some patience and persistence, but rest assured, there are options available that combine style, comfort, and functionality. By understanding your body type, prioritizing fit and comfort, exploring different styles and fabrics, embracing trends, and supporting inclusive brands, you can build a wardrobe full of jackets that make you look and feel fabulous, regardless of your size. So, go ahead, embrace your unique style, and conquer the world—one fashionable jacket at a time!

How realism changed the film industry. REVISED (Franco Morgante)
Much like the entire world, the film industry underwent massive changes when World War II ended. Audiences had grown weary of every film being made on a set and were craving something more realistic. This led to one most decisive change to the film landscape, which was the rise of realism.
Films all around the world started to depict more realistic settings and stories that related to real life events. One example can be seen with Roberto Rosselini’s 1948 film Germany Year Zero. The film depicts a family in Berlin after WWII as they struggle to survive with their home being destroyed by the allies. As well as feeling emasculated since their country had just lost the war. A quote from an article by Torunn Haaland depicts why this film feels to different than previous films of the time, by saying “the documentary tendencies that more by choice than by necessity became a way to authentically portray social realities and lived experiences were not exclusive to Italian directors'' (Haaland). The choice to add elements of documentary filmmaking uplifts this film from just being a product for entertainment, but one to capture a certain period in time. The film uses many tropes found in the neorealist style films such as non-professional actors to make the characters seem more like everyday people. But most importantly the film features no sets and was filmed in the actual Berlin. So, all of the shots of the city’s destroyed buildings were real locations and not a set that was constructed. This gives the films an almost documentary-like feel as a major purpose of this film is to show what life was like for German citizens after the war. This is best depicted in the scene where the characters find an old record player and start playing a speech from Adolf Hitler where talks about how proud he was to see Germany so strong. But then the film juxtaposes the speech with shots of Berlin in ruins. It visually depicts the identity crisis the country was going through at the time as even though they were pariahs on the world stage, they were at least a strong nation prior to the war. A film like this would’ve been much less effective if the neorealism movement hadn’t begun, as if it was done on a set, it could’ve been seen as a fake struggle. But the choice to shoot in real war-torn Belin really shows the audience that all of the hardship the characters are going through are one's people are going through in the real world at the time.
Tumblr media
Hollywood also started to take influence from the realism movement as well. As can be seen with Jules Dassin’s 1948 film The Naked City. The film takes place in New York City and the main highlight of this film is its cinematography. The film starts with an amazing aerial shot of 1940’s Manhattan, and they often use wide shots to show the many streets of the city. The opening shot also has a narration which says that everything was shot in a real location, and nothing was shot on a set. An article from Film Quarterly shows how this film used its realistic location to enhance its cinematography, they say “The giant screen, on the other hand, emphasized the boundless dimensions available to Hollywood" (Film Quarterly). Shooting in the real New York City allowed the film crew to take advantage of a movie theater's giant screen by having the wide shots provide much more depth than a set ever could. That being said the film doesn’t take inspiration from every aspect of the neorealism movement. The story isn’t about the day-to-day life of a New Yorker; rather it’s a murder mystery story that just happens to take place in the real city. In a sense it would fit right in with previous films that Hollywood would produce in previous decades, but it just takes some influence from the neorealism movement when it comes to set design and cinematography.
Tumblr media
A modern-day example of a realistic film would be Cinderella Man. Which is about a boxer in the great depression struggling to provide for his family. Even though the film obviously wasn’t recorded during the actual great depression, the film does its best to make sure the costume and set designs are as accurate to the time period. The film also makes the depression a crucial plot point as most if not all of the characters are teetering on the edge of poverty, and it displays what kind of labor average people were willing to do just to try and make ends meet. It also proves how realism is still popular amongst American audiences as it currently sits at an 80% on rotten tomatoes. This could be explained in the article written by Robert Brustein, where he says “Because of their distance from everyday life. Americans can now afford to be indulgent toward grubbiness and poverty because they have been enjoying over the past ten years a prosperity unparalleled in their history” (Brustien). Even if modern audiences are super removed from the time period of the film, the commitment to authenticity shows that realism can immerse people into time periods that are vastly different than the ones they are living in.
Tumblr media
Overall, the switch to more realistic stories and settings was arguably the most decisive change to the film industry as it proved that not only could films be made in realistic settings. But they could also be used to depict a certain period in time for generations to look back on.

Sims 3 world building conclusions pt.2
(4)The world is so big that I have to go on a vampire hunt to find other townies. Just…why??? 😭 What is that? I did get bored from playing in my world after a few months, but this made me yearn for that medium world life again. And now, I find myself loading up the test save I shelved. I guess that's a good thing. I also started working on large map for the same world. (5)Fifth is that a large world should be comfortable to play in. What I mean is that I find moving around large chunks of pointless land to be tedious. Moving to five points of a map may sound cool, but it may not be practical. I have seen this done right, but I've come to the conclusion that this is not the way for me. I don't want to people to feel like they are running a marathon with their mouse. And if they do, make it worth it. It isn't always worth it. (6)Six is a little off the beaten path from the rest of list. It's also what prompted this post. CC in world builds. I'm not a builder. I try to stick to Maxis stuff as much as possible but somes cc can add a little extra touch where my abilities can't reach. I try to be as respectful as possible to cc creators because I love what they do. It's hard work and you can end up creating more than you play the game. I know this because I've been self learning cc creation for the last two weeks(at a steady pace, of course). It's doable but nothing to sneeze at. As I have started building, I have noticed some of these rules are ridiculous. I ended up removing an entire folder from my game because I felt the rules were too ridiculous. A few of them basically meant "You can only use my cc for playing your game." Fine. Sounds alright if you say it that way. But if you feel that way, just say so. Stop listing out 10 bullet points to say one thing. I feel like it's become a thing in the Sims community to beat around the bush. It doesn't make you more official. And I specifically have an issue with no cc for builds. Hear me out, because I know people will be ready to disagree immediately without understanding what I mean. If the cc is not in your mod folder, it will not show up in the game. The Sims will substitute the item to the best of its scrambled code abilities. If someone puts your cc in their builds, links your website for the items, and credits you, what's the problem? They didn't steal if they didn't repost it without credit and it never shows up in any users game. Credit doesn't seem to be enough to them and it makes me wonder why they even started creating custom content in the first place. It takes steam out of building. It reminds me of people complaining about Lilsimie using the same items in her builds. There are only so many items you can use silly. (7)Seven is that you also shouldn't go wild with cc. No one wants to download a million items to use your world. The biggest gripe I have about CAW usage is creating world that can't run smoothly. What's the point of a world you can only look at? Take pictures? Go on vacation? Sure, but ultimately, it collects dust in InstalledWorlds until the user decides to remove it. I don't want that. I want people to enjoy my world. At least until the adults decide to have a family and move to a family world. (Last words) D7 Large will be a little more family friendly. The young adult life will still be there. A large section of the map is going to supernaturals. There are basically two income brackets in this town. Poor and rich. No middle class. I'm pushing a narrative. I couldn't really push this narrative the way I wanted on the medium map without taking away certain aspects. On a large map, I can. All and all, building D7 made me understand what kind of world I was aiming for. Poor, rich, supernatural, human, college, and a relaxed night life.
Deep breath*
Also, I'm working on a fantasy world. D7 has caused me to become more inspired. Browsing through Temu did as well 😋. I'm still playing with terrain.

Whether you're an amateur photographer looking to enhance your portfolio or a business owner wanting to create stunning visuals for your website or marketing materials, outsourcing your photo editing can offer numerous benefits. First and foremost, using a professional photo editing service saves you time and effort. This means they can perform intricate edits such as retouching skin imperfections, adjusting lighting and color balance, removing unwanted objects or backgrounds, and even creating artistic effects that will take your photos from ordinary to extraordinary. Moreover, working with a professional editor allows for consistency across all of your images. They can create custom presets or apply specific styles based on your preferences so that every photo maintains a cohesive look and feel. This is especially important if you are building brand recognition through visual content. In addition, collaborating with professional editors opens up opportunities for learning and growth as they often provide feedback on how certain aspects of photography could be improved in future shoots. Their knowledge of composition, lighting techniques, and industry trends can help elevate not just the current set of images but also inform future creative endeavors. Lastly yet importantly, hiring an external expert removes any bias or emotional attachment one may have towards their own work when it comes time for critical evaluation. It allows fresh eyes - those trained specifically in image enhancement -to assess what needs improvement without personal biases clouding judgment. Remember that quality should always be a priority when selecting a photo editing service. It's worth investing in professional assistance to ensure that your images are enhanced effectively while maintaining their authenticity.
How to choose the right photo editing service for your needs
When it comes to choosing the right photo editing service for your needs, there are a few key factors to consider. First and foremost, you'll want to evaluate the quality of their work. Look at examples of their previous edits and see if they align with the style and aesthetic you're looking for. Next, take into account the range of services offered by each platform. Some may specialize in specific types of edits, such as retouching or color correction, while others offer a wide variety of options. Determine which services are most important to you and find a provider that meets those needs. Another important consideration is turnaround time. If you have tight deadlines or need edits done quickly, make sure to choose a service that can accommodate your timeline. Price is also an important factor when selecting a photo editing service. Compare prices across different platforms and weigh them against the level of quality and service provided. Don't forget about customer reviews and testimonials. This will give you insight into other clients' experiences with the editing service and help guide your decision-making process. By carefully considering these factors – quality, range of services, turnaround time, price, and customer reviews – you can select the right photo editing service that best suits your needs!
Tips for preparing your photos to be edited
Tips for Preparing Your Photos to be Edited 1. Organize and categorize your photos: Before sending your photos to be edited, it's essential to organize them properly. Create folders or albums based on the subject or event of the photos. This will make it easier for both you and the editor to locate specific images. 2. Choose high-resolution files: To ensure the best quality edits, send high-resolution files to the editing service. High-resolution images contain more detail and allow for greater flexibility in post-processing. 3. Check for exposure and composition issues: Take a close look at each photo before sending it off for editing. Look out for any overexposed or underexposed areas that need adjustment. Also, pay attention to the overall composition of the image, ensuring that all elements are well-framed. 4. Remove distractions: Clean up any distracting elements in your photos before submitting them for editing. This could include removing unwanted objects, adjusting background clutter, or even enhancing certain details like colors or textures. 5. Provide clear instructions: Communication is key when working with a photo editing service! Clearly articulate what kind of edits you're looking for - whether it's basic adjustments like color correction and cropping, or more advanced techniques like retouching or compositing. 6. Save copies of original files: It's always wise to keep backup copies of your original unedited files in case you want to revert back to them later on. By following these tips, you'll set yourself up for success when sending your photos off to be edited by professionals!
The importance of communication and feedback with the editor
Effective communication and feedback are crucial when working with a photo editor. It ensures that your vision is understood and executed correctly, resulting in the desired outcome. Clear communication helps establish expectations from the start. Be specific about what you want to achieve with your photos. Provide detailed instructions or references if necessary, so that the editor can grasp your aesthetic preferences. Additionally, maintaining an open line of communication throughout the editing process allows for adjustments and revisions along the way. Regular check-ins help ensure that both parties are on the same page and prevent any misunderstandings. Furthermore, providing constructive feedback is essential in achieving optimal results. If something doesn't meet your expectations, don't be afraid to communicate it politely but assertively. A good editor will appreciate your input and work towards rectifying any issues. Remember, effective communication goes hand in hand with being receptive to suggestions from the editor as well. They may have valuable insights or alternative approaches that could enhance your images even further. In conclusion (not using "in conclusion"), strong communication and feedback foster a collaborative relationship between you and the editor – leading to exceptional edits that bring out the best in your photos!
