I don't need to deal with anything. Yes, that character can be awful & makes frankly the dumbest choices. I'm not pretending this character is a whole-ass different person who did different stuff. Then they are someone else, so what's the point?

Here's the thing about the royal family not fully understanding that Wilhelm and Simon were *truly* in love though.

And subsequently, why Wille's coming out to the entirety of Sweden was so so powerful: them not knowing, or simply refusing to acknowledge this, no matter how many times he tried to tell them, actually gave Wille a much higher edge over everyone trying to cover up the scandal, even if he didn't realise this at first.

Every single person had a misunderstanding that this was something he wanted. That they were doing him an obvious favor by helping him cover it up, preparing a speech for him, threatening him whenever he got sidetracked. Or at least something he'd see sense in once he got past that "hormonal driven teenage tantrum" and understand that covering it up was the best course of action. Of course he wouldn't bring the other boy and his feelings into all of this. Simon was just an experiment right? Who'd go so far as to sabotage themselves to bring justice to someone they didn't even love and care about?

And this. this exact misassumption was what eventually brought them all down in the end.

Take August for example. If he had secrets and lies as his weapons and to keep his crimes in the dark, Wille had the truth. A whole truth bomb in the palm of his hand, all this time. And no matter how ballsy Wille was trying to be in that "I'm gonna slowly ruin August's life" mission of his, he was still fighting fire with fire. He only won when he clashed against August as an exact antithesis of him in that coming out speech. August's whole plan was doused only when Wille spoke the truth and refused to play along with his games.

I mean really, had he not done this, what would've happened at worst? August would've.. gotten voted out of being rowing captain?? Maybe he would suffer a bit then, but would it really matter in the long run? August knew that, and so did Wille, deep down, but he ignored that part and instead convinced himself that he was at least doing something to make himself feel better.

Because honestly?!

August never understood, or even cared to! He'd pretend to be sorry whenever needed and go right back to being where he was if needed, as long as he was gonna be king. The moment August actually. genuinely lost to him was when Wille did something not out of hatred for August, but out of love for Simon. And when he did, without having August in his mind, but the person he loved and cared about, he made it impossible for August to go anywhere from there on. It wasn't revenge, it was reconciliation that finally got him. (And simultaneously saved Wilmon's relationship too, for that matter 👀)

This has such poetry in it btw?? I can't properly explain it, but it does remind me of atla and Zuko's arc in a way. How there's a whole world of difference between his firebending when it's fueled by rage, and when it's fueled by wisdom, focus and harmony within the elements. The difference in outcome is so visibly there when the motivation is switched, and when Wille has love and understanding and bravery in his heart instead.

The whole time, the entire Hillerska staff, student body, royal court and royal family and tHEIR ROYAL FAMILIES- *deep breath* WERE AFTER MY BACHCHA had anticipated Wille to lash out for having his royal image tainted and getting at odds with his family but the fact that he'd do it on Simon's behalf never even crossed their brilliant little minds. They had equiped themselves, sure, but never for this >:) Because for all their brains and strategising, no one had actually sat down and thought for once that Wilmon were actually in love. There was a power in it that no one had anticipated.

Deep Space Nine is a Community of Misfits

I feel like we don't discuss the fact that the Deep Space Nine Federation crew was basically sent there to rot. It was a shitty assignment, and likely issued to officers that weren't very promising. But when the wormhole is discovered, they rise to the challenge. When the war starts, they rise to the challenge. The Bajorans initially see the Federation as more conquerors (see: Kira Nerys) and they know the Starfleet officers don't want to be there, so they're openly hostile, which makes the federation hostile right back. They absolutely don't trust each other. The odds were not in their favor. Deep Space Nine should have failed.

And yet, miraculously, Deep Space Nine fucking THRIVED. The wormhole had nothing to do with that. If anything, it made it harder. With little very functioning equipment and people who are likely less than stellar at their jobs, Deep Space Nine should have collapsed under the pressure. But it didn't! Starfleet used Deep Space Nine as their trash can, and yet the officers proved themselves to be remarkable. They weren't stellar at first but they became it.

For realsies? I don't think Deep Space Nine could have succeeded in the way it did under anyone other than Sisko. Sisko knew what needed to be done and his... flexible morals ensured that it got done. Like using Nog, a child, as a bargaining chip to keep Quark on the station.

The crew, and indeed the whole station, are a community of misfits; ones who are saddled with baggage and trauma no less. Each character defies expectations and becomes so much more than the sum of their parts. GOD. I don't know how to end this but like.

Deep Space Nine is where outcasts and the broken go home.

So @neroushalvaus told me that in the current Finnish production of Så som i himmelen, after a big assortment of other questionable choices, they interpret the finale as some sort of Literal Vision of Heaven... and in there, Tore magically heals of his disability.

The more I think about this, the more disappointed and angry I feel about it.

I mean. The whole entire point of the character of Tore is that the others learn to accept him exactly as he is, and that he has a unique, valuable voice just like everybody else. Besides that, he's a very rare instance of disabled representation within musical theatre. Sure, he's often played by non-disabled actors – but the Helsinki production showed us how you can achieve great results by splitting the role between a disabled and a non-disabled actor, so the role can also be an opportunity for disabled actors, given that they're provided enough support throughout the process.

Or it can be an opportunity for a non-disabled actor to treat disability like a costume you can simply take off when you're done with it and for a production to imply that disabled people are not good as they are, I guess. Cool beans!

Incredibly disappointed with the director and everyone else involved.

#they also cut the whole prologue and have Daniel coughing up blood and whatnot #unlike the Tore thing those choices are not offensive or anything. but I do think they're very very dumb #dunno! this detail has just been haunting me #I'm sure the actor and/or the director could explain why they've made such a choice...#but personally tbh I'm not super interested in hearing that #I think they're sending an awful message re: disabled people no matter the reasoning #oh well! reread X-Men Forever and FotHX twice this week just to piece it all together. Kieron is at his most dense and opaque and I can't tell if it's time crunch and editorial pressure, or if he's just indulging in his all of his most Gillenish instincts at the end of things.

explaining my lifestyle: no see this looks like horrible depression but I actually feel much better than I did when I was putting work into improving myself ♥️

Trying to imitate the shows art style for comics has me feeling like I don't know how to draw, so I decided to try and figure them out in my usual style.

I couldn't commit to a full human disguise though because I crave their more demonic aspects.

The burger poll reminded me of the reason why I struggle giving Takouji a kid. Would the bby starve? Who would cook for them? Takuya should seriously hire a butler or some private cook, which wouldn’t be a problem since he will be certainly rich, but he would get to that decision after having put the kitchen on fire with Kouji and having given the kid A THRAUMA🤣.

So many times, when both Dads are miracolously home, they will promise each other they will manage to cook something good for the bby, but they will end up fighting over who can cook the best meal and will forget about feeding the kid.

Probably, bby would be independent enough to call Zia Cook Izumi or Zio Junpei and order some pasta or pizza from the restaurant. What a pity in my hc Takouji live in Rome, Junzumi in Milan but Izumi can make those two behave by just yelling at them on the phone, I’m sure🤣.
