Post mountain Jaskier accidentally stumbles on the Von Everec estate just in time to save Iris from wasting away. After much talking no jutsu the whole sordid story comes out and Jaskier is livid for Iris’ sake:

Jaskier: “Look at you! You’re beautiful! You’re brilliant! You are *so* talented, and you’re gonna- what, pine away for a man who’s ignored you, abandoned you, taken you for granted- “Oh gods, what have I done with my life??“

Iris: “pardon?”

Jaskier: “Nothing! nothing. Self awareness kneed me in the- anyway. This- this thing we are doing? we are not doing it anymore. We are done. Finished.”

Iris: “Uh-“

Jaskier: You know what we *are* gonna do?“

Iris: “Um-“

Iris: “We are gonna get drunk! we are gonna get mad! we are gonna get *so hot*, iris! and we are gonna get OVER those ungrateful assholes, who never deserved us to begin with!“

and then they sell the house, annul her marriage (since Olgierd fucked off for years) and jaskier proceeds to take Iris to party hard, introduce her to all his friends and set her up in Oxenfurt so she can expand on her art classes while she figures out what she wants to do with her life.

It’s jaskier and Iris’ hot girl summer, no assholes invited!

of course then it turns out there’s a contract on a toad under Oxenfurt who bring one certain asshole witcher and i turns out he was hired by some other asshole-
