you’ll need to learn html coding but there are loads of free templates you can use! this layout generator is a great place to start, and neocities also has their own starter guide. i promise coding is not as scary as it looks, once you learn the basics it is rewarding & fun!

having a personal website on neocities is like having a little virtual house that you can freely customise how you want then you can go and visit other ppls virtual houses. it’s comfy, slow-paced and very welcoming compared to current social media.

Myself and everyone I have ever met, from my childhood classmates to the people I have blocked on my Twitter account, have been watching in real time as a government tries everything it can to wipe out an entire civilization of people in cold hatred. Families permanently separated. Journalists slaughtered. Trauma that is going to persist for centuries beyond our lifetimes. While all sides of our own government sponsor it.

That's the most chilling aspect of it all for me.

I know it had no consequence on anything important, but this does feel melancholic to me.

I grew up watching the shows there. It was a big part of me getting hooked on the franchise.

But at the same time, it signifies the change in the internet. It's not the same anymore.

We used to have websites and forums. Now we have platforms. You play by the rules of the big corporations.

I don't think it's all doom and gloom: it's just how the internet has turned out.

But it is melancholic. The digital world I once walked has faded into the aether.
