Reblog don’t repost please!
Hope everyone likes the new direction for the comic! Changing the name to Pip in the multiverse! All plot will now be replaced by cameos and vaguely threatening platitudes!
Did I do prank right? Am I an april fool? It would probably make more sense for me to just draw regular fanart for other AUs and artists i like, but this seemed more fun! I wanted even more cameos but ran out of time!

Influencer
Tumblr media
“Beware the leaven of the Pharisees.”
It’s an odd line in today’s Gospel. But Jesus is pointing out something that’s true for all of us.
A little leaven, a little yeast will influence the other ingredients for bread, changing what was just flour and water into something very different.
In just the same way you and I are influenced and changed by the people that we are around, that we listen to, that we follow online.
The internet label of “influencer” may sound made up, but points to this truth.
No matter how we run into them, whether it’s online or in person, some of the people that we let ourselves be influenced by are what my grandmother called “professional troublemakers.”
They complain, spread gossip and rumors, turn minor inconveniences into giant problems, and even just make things up. All for the sake of getting us upset. Drawing us in, so we’ll keep paying attention to them.
That’s who Jesus is warning us about in the Gospel.
The Pharisees (the professional troublemakers of the first century) may not be with us anymore. But it feels like a million other people have stepped up to take their place.
Because of the way that you and I are impacted by other people, we have to be careful about the people that we listen to, the people that we pay attention to.
Most professional troublemakers aren’t bad people. They just have issues that they aren’t dealing with.
They’ve fallen into the comparison trap. And jealousy is causing them to lash out at the people they desperately wish they were.
Or they’ve been hurt by people or things that happened to them. And now they’re stuck. They haven’t been able to let go, and it’s still hurting them.
Or they’ve made mistakes. Looking backwards they can see where they messed everything up. And they can’t forgive themselves for it.
And now they’re spreading all their garbage – because they’re not dealing with it.
So why is Jesus warning us about other people’s garbage? Because Jesus knows something about us (no surprise there, He’s God).
Jesus knows that you and I have a tendency to pick up that garbage and to carry it around. And anything that we pick up and carry around will influence us.
And what Jesus is telling us to do is to be intentional about what we let influence us.
Before we pick something up and carry it around, we need to consider the source.
People who are secure in who they are don’t waste their time tearing other people down. Healthy people don’t waste their time complaining. People who are healing don’t waste their time pointing out what’s wrong with other people.
If someone is always negative, bitter, angry, jealous, complaining – that’s the sign of someone who needs help. Not someone who needs to influence us.
The thing about us? We cannot go around with empty hands. You and I are going to pick up things and carry them around.
And what we carry around will influence us. It’s just human nature.
That’s why we have to be intentional about what we pick up and carry around.
The best place to start? With the only safe bet. With the One who made you. With the One who has always loved you and who always will.

Scripture Of The Day - March 10, 2024
Joshua 5:11, "And they ate of the produce of the land on the day after the Passover, unleavened bread and parched grain, on the very same day. Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year."
The day the children of Israel ate of the food of the Promised Land the manna ceased the day after. Now they were living in a place of breakthrough because they had crossed over into the place of God's intention, establishment, promise, and blessing.
Too many times the Body of Christ is in "retreat mode" in reaction to the enemy but we need to be in a "pursue and overtake" mode plundering his camp. Instead of living with a mindset of "self-preservation" we should be "invading territory". It is a completely different way of thinking.
Acts 10:38, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."
Jesus was always taking territory. God calls us to invade and have an impact. We don't need to wait around for something to happen then "react" to it. Rather our actions should be making the enemy react to us. We are in a battle to see people restored to the Father, restored in their lives and made whole in the presence of Jesus.
Be intentional about all that you do. Know that Jesus has given you power, authority, influence, and a life PURPOSE in the Holy Spirit to see lives changed. Expand the horizons of the possibilities in what God can do through you. He has no limitations and intends to overflow our lives with His life-changing presence.
Matthew 28:19 – “Go therefore and make disciples….”

Who are you following?
Who are you following?
It’s one of the central questions of life. Because who we follow determines who we are. And we answer that question a thousand different ways.
Sometimes we answer it in terms of where we get our news from, who we’re following online, etc. That may seem like a very shallow answer. But it’s really not.
Because any voice that we let speak to us regularly? We will become a follower. It’s just how we’re wired (the sheep metaphors in the Bible are way too close to the truth when it comes to you and me).
Sometimes we answer it in terms of our own ego, insisting that we chart our own course. That we’re followers of no one.
In fact, that is the shallow answer. Because it means any one of several things (and sometimes a bit of all of them). That we’re unaware of who we’re following. That we’re lying to ourselves about who we’re following. Or that we’re ashamed of who we’re following.
But no matter how we answer the question, for most of us who we’re really following usually isn’t the result of a deliberate choice.
You and I didn’t wake up one morning and say, “well it’s time to pick the people who are going to determine who we are.” Then research them and have auditions, so that we could pick the ones who had our best interests at heart.
And it shows.
If you’ve ever wondered why you respond badly to certain things and people? If you’ve ever noticed that your preconceived ideas about certain things just don’t work? This is why.
So what do we do about it? Start by being intentional about who we follow. Do the research, have the auditions, and intentionally pick who we follow. Based on whether they truly have our best interests at heart.
Our first pick? The only truly safe option. The only One who will never lead us astray. The only One we can trust to be our most important influence. The only One who always has our best interests at heart.
The One who made us, who has always loved us, and who always will.
