He had gone quiet and the man tilted his chin up. “I don’t know,” Bruce said honestly. “Do you want to talk about it?” Bruce snorted with dry amusement. “We don’t talk. Not for real.” The guy shrugged. “Sure, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care.” Suddenly, Bruce felt like his chest was caving in. He didn’t want anyone to care, not about him. He got up and put his clothes back on and said, “I’ll talk to you later.” He didn’t plan to talk to that man ever again.
