“I’m really into shuffles. One of my favorite artists is Stevie Wonder, and if you listen to ‘Higher Ground’ [from Innvervisions], that shuffle he’s doing with his foot – because he’s playing the drums – is coming from the kick drum. I just love that stuff and that feel.

“I had started working with 5 Seconds of Summer, and a lot of people looked at them as a boy band, but they’re not. They’re all incredible musicians. They can all play every instrument. They love rock music. They can harmonize like skyrockets in flight. They just were making the wrong kind of music.

“So I started talking to them about different eras and different sounds of rock music. I told them, ‘I want to make something with a shuffle.’ We were messing around with these chords and the idea of this atmosphere building over electric guitar that eventually just explodes. That sounds like stadium rock to me. Ali and I got together with the boys, and I put down some chords with the kick drum doing that kind of shuffle pattern, and that became ‘Youngblood.’

“I tried different guitar parts to link everything together, and I ended up with this kind of muted part that has an Andy Summers or a Tears for Fears vibe. It really clicked. Then I got together with [producer] Louis Bell, who helped me tighten everything up and bring it to a whole other level.

“It became the band’s first number-one song. And then it was the most played song on the NFL that season! It’s like the song ‘Rock and Roll (Part 2).’ Something about going boom ba-boom ba-boom ba-boom makes you want to throw a football, you know?”

In ogni caso Emmanuele e Martino, in arte H/G, non sono scappati da Milano, dove sono nati e cresciuti e anzi, proprio qui hanno fondato nel 2010 Just This, pilastro della nightlife meneghina. Da lì hanno cominciato a conquistare le vette dei migliori dancefloor con il loro algoritmo sonoro nato dalla cultura rock/indie di uno e dalla sperimentazione elettronica dell’altro.

HOWLING - Phases (Counter Records)

Spojení německého písničkáře RY X a jednoho člena famózního dua Âme, sice Franka Wiedemanna vznikl projekt 'Howling', který má za sebou již po dobu dvou let mnoho práce a hlavně vydanou velmi povedenou desku 'Sacred Ground' (Monkeytown Records). Nyní, jak začátkem roku Wiedemann plánoval na svém facebooku, se blíží další vydání studiové desky. A první vlaštovkou tohoto chystaného počinu je právě track 'Phase', který se podle mého názoru velmi povedl. Track je zatím pouze v digitální verzi, kdy se vedle něj skví club a radio edit. V brzské době by měli vyjí také dva remixy od Alexe Do. a Tota Chiavetty. První dokonce pod hlavičkou Innvervisions Records. ...

Dlaším je track z prosince minulého roku od velmi úspěšného a nadaného britského producenta Butche. Na EP vyšli celekem dva tracky. Veni, Vidi, Vici a Truncatis. Track uveřejnilo vydavatelství Saved Records a je to ideální rychta pro nad ránem končící set. ...

Nils Frahm - Peter (The Drifter Remix) (Philomena Records)

Oficiálně vyšel pouze na 12' vinylu pod tajemným ,,white” labelem Philomena, který obyčejně vydává pouze pártrackové EP velmi speciálních a né tolik známých remixů od tvůrců, kterými jsou Dixon, Âme, Ripperton, Marcus Worgul, a mnoho dalších. Můj né tolik známý oblíbenec The Drifter již v roce 2015 pro tento label utvořil neskutečně jednoduchý a zároveň velmi přitažlivý remix songu 'Peter' od německého krále syntezátorů a klavíru Nilse Frahma. Na EP jako druhý track najdeme hrátky Johna Talabota. ...
