me clicking on it and seeing, as i knew it would be, because every job in my industry is, that it's in fucking london, and "remote" actually means "you have to come into the office in central london at least two days a week even though literally every part of this job could be done from home, making it completely inaccessible unless you want to uproot your whole life, move halfway across the country and live in a shoe cupboard*:

Its not exceptionally creative nor rly detailed yet tbh. its situating show louis even more in our era by making him be born earlier & all that entails. struggling to think of how old lestat would be tho if hes younger too or like canon [shrugshrug]. i still dunno if i wanna make em vamps or have it be a generic human au yet. but i have louis’s character / his la arc somewhat outlined & its mostly me mapping his arc to the sociocultural+political situation of this now era in mind. ldpdl facing real prison time but les busts him out [or bails him out? idk yet] and lou sets the prison on fire b4 they leave is definitely something i want to happen. now will les burn w this? who knows :) it depends on how the rest of the story folds. william jefferson , marc morial & master p canon compliant-esque cameos in the same way the show had historical composites :3

I think the most fascinating thing about the US being a shit place to live is the fact that from all the indicators it shouldn't be. Like yes, there are far worse places to live for many people. But the US is the world's largest economy. Its hegemonic media and celebrities dominate the global culture. Its business exploits the labour and resources of billions of people and its military is the most dominant on the planet. By all rights it should be a pretty good place to live and instead it's just...bad.

Went to see Idlehood and The Loneliers. My buddy Tom filled in drums for the opening band Sangre, who I also recorded. I unfortunately had plans last minute made so I dipped after The Loneliers and couldn't stay for Desert Shark, but go follow them anyways!
