        Anne Maria had never considered Zoey competition.  They were on the same team from the start and, although she may not have liked the other girl’s style; she seemed harmless.  Anne Maria was tough, but she was one to get along with just about anyone unless they rubbed her wrong.

         Unfortunately, the whole situation had rubbed her wrong.

         Filing away at her nails, one leg crossed over the other, Anne Maria eyed Zoey from her seat; unimpressed.  “Yeah, no, that seat’s taken.”

         okay, so, lindsay is the youngest of three daughters. ever since she was small, her older sisters had been dictating what to do and when to do it (being the youngest, her vote got cast last so even if she disagreed, it wouldn’t matter because of the 2/1 vote). thinking became less and less of a priority because she had someone to do it for her. she didn’t have to remember anything because her sisters would let her know what to do, or who people were.

        when she got to school, her sisters were in grades above her, or already in different schools, so she didn’t have that support. it took longer to pick up on things because she expected sonya or paula to come out of the woodwork and give her an answer they would have picked.

        it wasn’t until she started gymnastics did she come into her own a bit. she learned all of the moves easily, and practiced constantly. It was nice to have something that wasn’t difficult for her; something lindsay could understand. focused, she found it easier to remember things (this later helped when it came to cheer and getting those routines down.)

        her main difficulty in remembering is names. she’s usually pretty good with faces (if we don’t take into count the tyler fiasco of world tour but that’s another story), or little unique details that stood out to her. It just takes a while for things to stick, dependent on how much time she spends around someone (like, to my knowledge, she never got heather’s name wrong? so take that as you may–).

        so its kind of like subconscious selective short-term memory.
