lindsay LOVES the hustle and bustle of the mall, although it's a completely different playground during the holiday season -- screaming babies unhappy to meet santa, frantic last-minute shoppers all trying to find that perfect gift, and everything in between. they happen to fall into all three categories ( minus the screaming and being unhappy bits ) !!

of all the last-minute shopping they had done thus far, lindsay holds the little bag from SANTA'S WORKSHOP with the picture she thought would be totally cute of she and mike with santa ( and she was right !! they look adorable !! ), and in her free hand is mike's, while he somehow manages to balance her in the mix of presents for other people, and things lindsay thought were too perfect to pass up for herself.

"are you sure you got all that ??" she asks, looking up at him with her head tilted. lindsay is a professional shopper, having been carrying bags upon bags of goodies since her dad gave her his credit card for the first time and let her loose at the mall with her sisters -- but she's also a professional princess, and can't help but think its VERY ATTRACTIVE of mike to hold her things for her.

"oh !! over there !!" lindsay's fingers are tucked into the crux of mike's elbow as she tugs him through the partygoers. the venue is packed, contractually obligated contestants in a room with each other when they would all rather be anywhere else, but not lindsay !!

christmas is linday's second favorite time of the year ( first, being bikini season, of course ), and she actually likes most of the other campers -- the ones she knows ( and even if there are old grudges, lindsay is more than civil with everyone ). but they aren't important at the moment. her eye caught on one of her favorite christmas traditions hanging in one of the doorways, one that many other partygoers seem to be avoiding like the plague, but not lindsay !!

she smiles up at mike because it all just seems EASIER and WARMER with him by her side, navigating people to get to what she wants, even though what she wants is already in her hands.

and to drive home that point, lindsay cups mike's face once they have reached the destination, once they are settled directly beneath the mistletoe, and she pulls him down to her so that she can press her lips to his. her lip gloss is candy cane flavored, and she's not sorry at all about the taste she gives him.

"okay but this goes sooo much faster with you here !!" lindsay says, cross-legged on the plush carpet while the fireplace warms the room. there is every kind of festive wrapping paper, bow, bag, and ribbon imaginable spread around them -- and healthy amounts of glitter over just about everything, 'tis the season !! while the hot chocolate on the coffee table cools to an edible temperature, and christmas music plays from lindsay's speakers, she tries her hand again at another attempt at wrapping one of the presents.

hers are decidedly more LUMPY than zoey's, but she's not half bad at curling ribbon.

"waitwaitwait --" she hops up, as if she had forgotten something VERY important, and hurries over to one of the shopping bags sitting on the couch. lindsay rummages in it and produces two santa hats. "eee !! we can't be good santas without the right outfit."

lindsay places the hat on her own head and then kneels back besides zoey so she can fix it on hers as well. she gasps and smiles, "awh, red really IS your color !!"

Specifically, clips from the rock & roll biopic challenges, in which they aced one challenge each. “Man, wish I had kept that fake guitar. It looked cool…” He looked at Lindsay again. “And you were born for the camera.”

for as shallow or dumb as people often thought her, lindsay could relate.  it had really hurt when beth condescended her during that challenge !!  they were supposed to have been bffs ( and they had gotten over it, for sure, but in the moment it hadn’t felt nice ).  “omigosh, i loved that challenge -- i can’t believe i went home for it !!”  even if she had been the deciding vote.  she watches the recap of pressing on her own face at elimination, and feels her cheeks warm again in renewed embarrassment.  “sometimes they made things sooo difficult.”

GWEN COUNTS HER BLESSINGS that of all the things to have changed over the years, lindsay’s good spirit isn’t one of them. gwen had nearly avoided saying anything — what good is the thought of getting someone a gift ? — but lindsay’s reaction makes it worthwhile. as always, no bad blood. dark lips curve into, well, nearly a smile. “ i mean, you also get another year, you know ? kind of like, a gift from the universe. that’s pretty cool. ”

lindsay gasps and grasps onto gwen’s hand.  “you are sooo right,” she agrees.  smiling, she closes her eyes and squeezes gwen’s hand.  “awh, thanks, universe !!”  although, after all the insane things they were forced to do for total drama, it would be totally LAME if the universe were to take her out now ( also, how dark !! ).  “i totally never thought of it like that, but how cute.”

”okay, that is a total bummer,” she agrees.  

yeah, their team HAD had some rotten luck so far !!  like, their name was TEAM VICTORY, weren’t they supposed to win ??  and it was only them left, so they were going to have to work extra hard -- and lindsay was already having a hard time trying to think of words to sing during the challenge, let alone trying to actually win them.

she eyes the proffered peanuts and offers a small smile.  “no, thanks.  i don’t even really want mine,” she says and shakes her little bag full.  “are peanuts low carb ??”

   ❝ i hear that, ❞  He agrees, looking down at his own disgusting packet of peanuts with a saddened optimism.  ❝ i’d feel a lot better if i wasn’t hurting all those poor animals, though. ❞

         Call him naïve, but DJ truly believed that with his ROTTEN luck, he was definitely headed towards the exit by the next challenge.  Sure, the money would’ve been great for helping out his Mama, but is it worth hurting this many animals, even if most of it was by complete accident ? 

         He doesn’t think so. 

   ❝ i’m not really feelin’ hungry, do you want my peanuts ? ❞  He asks the blonde, nudging his packet in her direction as a sign of friendliness, despite his less than friendly relationship with animals as of late.

well that’s KIND OF GROSS.  lindsay totally doesn’t want to get into a sweat hot tub.  chlorine kills that though, right ??  she doesn’t linger in it though, owen’s enthusiasm is infectious and a complete upgrade from how grumpy heather had been all morning.  like, lindsay’s miserable about how run-down camp is too, but that doesn’t mean she’s not going to at least try to have fun ( -- as long as it doesn’t jeopardize the alliance !! ).

“awh, i hope we don’t have ANOTHER day of running around too soon.  i’m going to need an emergency pedicure stat.  it’s like, hellooo, these boots are made for WALKING, duh !!”  lindsay gestures to her signature cowboy boots, which are already a bit tight.
