Eerie modern yukata/kimono by Furifu, depicting blooming manjushage (better known as higanbana/red spider lily) and what is described as a cute tokage (lizard).
Higanbana are linked to death imagery, because of buddhist higan equinoctial week (where Buddhist services are held and people go clean tombs), and the fact people once believed they bloomed on Sanzu river's shores.
I like to believe the little lizard could actually be a luck bringing yamori (gecko) thwarting the dark undertones - unless we agree on a more ominous imori yokai ;)?
Imagine laying in bed with your f/o. Whether it's morning or middle of the night, sleepiness makes them much more honest that usually.
"You know, I really love you, all of you. How you try your best everyday to reach your goal. Or how kind you are. How you get excited about your interests, I love listening to you when you're so passionate."
They laugh happily thinking about it. Damn, they really love that.
"And I love the way you smile. Or your eyes, their shape, how the light reflects in it changing its colour. Your jawline, i love it too. Same with your neck, your shoulders, arms... Just, all of you."
They are still very sleepy and probably haven't processed too well what they had just said, but that's what makes it feel so natural and assures you its true. They think the world of you.
Is Charmy a God? Like this can't just be a joke, right? The thing is she would've said something about it, but that isn't possible because she is 20 years old. Maybe that Is her ancestor? Probably.
Also
Yosuga, my man 🤣. When they meet, it better be Love in First Fight To The Death. Imagine them having kids, everyone around them is going to pray to god that doesn't happen. May god have mercy.
AniManga Clash! Yu-Gi-Oh! Season Zero Episode 18: Don't Touch the Forbidden Game/Manga Chapters 46-47
Today’s episode starts out with a dream the character of the week, Imori, is having about the Dragon Cards and the Shin Tsuen Fu (the jar that is sealed beneath the cards.) which I will explain later. The dream seems to show a Chinese emperor or other high-status figure trying to protect the ‘Senhai’ (I couldn’t find what that meant, and Google keeps confusing it with “senpai” but it’s referring…
Imori and Hebi are young parents of Tokage. They didn't have much of a backstory and arcs yet, but will be developed as they are a very wholesome couple. Both live with their daughter in Suncoast Town.
Imori Tsuikotsu
[29 years old, she/her, heterosexual, human, New Zealander]
Imori is a working-from-home graphic designer. Has bubbly and caring personality. She's also very artsy and spontanous.
Has a very strong bong with her daughter that she gave birth to pretty soon, being 19-20. Was very dedicated to learning ASL and passing it onto both Tokage and Hebi, so their household can function properly. She has a soft spot for Tokage, sneaking out to have pancakes with her on the beach, but on the other hand insisting she should be as independant as possible.
With a very young-looking face, cute hairstyles and comically big glasses, she always draws people to herself. She is also a good cook. Always sees the bigger picture, so anything that requires details, careful planning or being meticulous is not her forte.
Hebi Tsuikotsu
[31 years old, he/it, heteroromantic, demisexual, human, American]
Hebi was a twink for the longest time, but always a beautiful, delicate boy. That exterior lead him to both suffering and success. On one hand. be lives with the trauma of being molested as a child, hence he is very protective of Tokage and absolutely hates the fact she hangs around with Katya lately. On the other, with the support of his now wife (and a therapist, of course), he made amazing use of those looks and now is a confident model.
His photos in different makeups and hairstyles and clothes (or semi-nude) are hanging around the house, so the rest of the family doesn't miss him so much when he is shooting a session somewhere.
Also, only his wife and daughter constitute a space safe enough for him to be warm and open. Otherwise, he is perceived as a rather stern and cold man, not talking much, and if he does it is to complain or tell off. He doesn't have much friends, and his introvert nature makes him suffer through any promotional public events he is obliged by his contracts to attend.
-------------------------------------
Fun fact:
The Tsuikotsu family has a key to their names, similar to Merah's family, but all in Japanese, as Tokage used to be a bit of a different character I wrote up around 2 decades ago and wanted to bring her cute lil'face back.
tsuikotsu - malleus - a bone in the ear also called a hammer, making it possible to hear, pertraining to Tokage being Deaf
tokage - lizard
hebi - snake
imori - newt
before we get to business, first of all, heres bakuras game master abilities at play. one look and hes got the game, which literally just launched maybe a few hours ago, figured out. hes always been quick-witted 01, 02. terrifying, really.
the infamous and memed-on 仲間だぜ☆ lmao
anyway, what I want to focus on is the bit before that.
BAKURA: Don't worry... I'm not the same as before... You could say I've changed (ie. seen the error of my ways)...
time to make inferences!! yugis vs bakuras! again! because we have to do all the work around here!
we all know that if bakura isnt outright lying, he tells truths through omission. its his modus operandi. he definitely hasnt changed (and become a good person), but there has been a change in him: hes switched gears.
his monologues leading up to this point has him practically praising yugi and his worth as a vessel because the puzzle chose no one else to be its bearer in 3000 years.
BAKURA: Because Yugi is the only one to ever be chosen by The Puzzle.
BAKURA: Bear witness... to the power the bearer of the Puzzle holds!
with that in mind, lets then extrapolate to Ryou, whom Bakura also specifically chose despite his many options.
I wouldnt say bakura has high regard for Item bearers per se (in memory world, he reduces yugi to a mere vessel iirc), but he does know, or more like realize, the bearers are actually special.
what brought about the "change", of course, would be bakuras defeat in monster world, something ryou had a huge part in. it was ryou's sacrifice that instigated and ensured bakuras loss. afterwards, bakura was silent for a long time until he starts cajoling and sweet talking ryou in duelist kingdom.
what we can gather from that is bakura learned. his error was strong-arming Item bearers. brute force wont work (not on ryou anyway) because Item bearers do hold power over their Items and, therefore, the souls inside it 01, 02, 03. (essentially, if the bearer dies, so does the soul in the Item. bakura and atem are destined to protect their vessels.)
bakuras gotta be careful 🤭 if he misbehaves, ryou can and will kill them both. bakura knows this. his host has demonstrated his power over him already. ryou might have another power...? but we'll stand by on that... we'll get to it when I get to it in the story. I kinda doubt its anything substantial in the original jp manga tho.
anyway...
BAKURA: Quit while you're ahead... Getting involved with the Puzzle means death!
BAKURA: Hehehe... Your weak soul would be incinerated and turn to ashes the moment you wear the Puzzle!
Im not sure what exactly those are examples of? 🤔 is that bakura telling the truth through omission (because the Ring did immolate people) or just his way of saying Item bearers are fucking strong lmao ryou and yugi contain and withstand hellfire on a daily basis!
Imori was fine tho.
bakura, I think it was just you burning the unworthy to crisps. atem was chill.
tbh, takahashi kazuki-sensei prolly just forgot this tidbit.
or more likely, the slate was wiped clean when the series had a hard reset to focus on the card game.
