It is kinda funny seeing people talk about Seungmin lately because he definitely has gotten more bold and confident for sure. He's also just getting opportunities to be perceived as an individual on his own as well for the first time in a while but it's still jarring to see people be like Aw he was always such a quiet goodie two shoes little nerd and it's like...... he was the one to leave and seek out his own vocal coach and blatantly talk about it, which of course lead to I.N and Lee Know also doing the same, he was the one to go on bubble and tell off sasaengs who used to camp outside their old dorm for invading members privacy but also because it effected other residents and staff at the complex, something that i'm certain upper management wouldnt have been happy about, and he wasn't curt or nice about it either. like he's never actually been a wallflower, he's always had a pretty strong backbone and seems to stick to his principals, its not really new.

As a multishipper I'm thinking about something. As a BKDK fan, I am, I guess preparing for a possibility?
I had a thought with this last chapter, and how this battle is literally about to end. That we are indeed at the very end of the line.
And I am thinking of the "Do your best, Izuku" theme and how everyone started chiming in on it, how it has become basically the closing motif to the battle. And how Tenya brought up the OG, ochako, who said the "Deku" seemed to her like "Do your best", and of course, ochako is seen saying the same.
So my thought is, if Hori is going for a Izu Ocha ending, this might be how it comes about.
(I am not saying it's one hundred percent satisfying, bc once again, Izuku has shown virtually no interest in her beyond friendship, and the relationship, to me, is still thematically and developmentally, one sided.)
So I don't know if hori is going to go with the idea that "do your best" bringing the relationship of Izu Ocha to the forefront after kicking it to the side for so long...but I guess I can see the thematic possibility he MAY be going for if that is the case.
Once again, I am hoping it's not a blatant thing, if anything I'd like no pairing to be outright "canon". Realistically I think that may be the case. Simply bc izu ocha just doesn't have enough reciprocity behind it and, bakudeku...well, obviously is highly unlikely due to the nature of Shonen/cultural precedence by very reason of it being Queer.
I am just thinking about the whole thing and it may be where Izu Ocha enters the Chat again.
As always I am letting Hori cook, and tempering expectations. I don't dislike Izu Ocha so I won't be terribly bummed out, I just wish there was a little more developed into it(namely, on izukus side)
As I always disclaim, it's Horis story to tell, and I am here to read it, and I'm not stopping now.

The thing about being a bitch and a hater is that you need to be charismatic about it for people to still like you somehow. And most importantly you need to be a poor little meow meow people will want to help see win.

coriolanus snow gets me every time because he was written as a villain from the very beginning. yet there was still, somehow, so much tragedy as he gets steadily less and less human. i think it’s because you saw opportunities for him to change at almost every turn. he was young, tigris was beautifully kind, his acquaintance was passionately rebellious. he saw horrors that should have and could have dissuaded him from his violent path to power. yet he never changed. each opportunity to improve was taken as an opportunity to lose himself in greed and selfishness. why? fucking WHY?
i want to sit here and tear apart his entire life, to somehow understand how someone could be so cruel. how he never strayed from their own predetermined destiny. i’m sure, at some point, he began changing for his family. power and pride were tools for survival, in the capital. and then… he didn’t even care about his family. the only answer i can think of it that he believed sacrificing his humanity was the only way to survive in his position, and then it was too painful to recover the things he let go. love. empathy. kindness. passion. theres no nowhere to go, once you’ve damned yourself. only greed, only power, only resentment and anger.

this is coming from a musical background but i hate the false dichotomy of “art has value because people like it or the powers that be decide that its good” or “you should just make whatever you want for yourself that makes you happy” like it doesnt have to be capitalist consumption or individualist babying... for me the two poles are actually “art is something you do in order to benefit from the process rather than the end product” and “art is an experience you share with other people with the end goal of enriching their lived experience in some way”. i just think there is so much creative narcissism on this earth but actually making art should be the humblest thing in the world because you’re willing to wring out your whole psyche in order to painstakingly create something that you hope will benefit someone else in this intangibly meaningful way. acting like its like shallow and selfish to care how others perceive your art is such weird liberal nonsense and literally your art as a product has no purpose if youre so indifferent to its audience... the process is for you to enjoy and its also acceptable to stop there but if you are going to ask for others to spend their time indulging it then i think u should actually care about how it benefits them..sorry

so yea im here again to bother (anonymously bc thats the only true way to communicate to ppl amirite)
so let's pretend rgg writers didn't pull an asshole move on him and he lives and now hes like. a side character or whatever u can catch him to chat whatever the point is hes alive AND THE QUESTION IS:
do you think he keeps appearance aoki-style clean and tidy or he goes back to masato-style emo swag? or is he gonna be the most cursed mix of these both
cause i can't decide what to draw and probably im gonna just sketch it all slap it on one sheet and post but i've been hit by sudden interest about what my fellow aoki fan thinks?
my heart wants him to go back to his e-boy swag ways in this purely hypothetical timeline but honestly im not sure, it's somethin i ask myself a lot also: it's beyond just aesthetics and the sort that make up masato arakawa and ryo aoki, so i can't confidently say one thing or another
if you dont care bout aimless ramblin uhh skip the Read More cause i could just wrap up this ask here :)
heh. you care about my aimless ramblings :]
'ryo aoki' represents 'the paragon of japanese men' yk: clean shaven, conservative haircut, neat and tidy (glasses are just bonus points for 'yeah he looks smart') etc etc. that's not to say ryo aoki was purely a facade or persona, masato obviously had to harbor some puritan ideology beforehand in order to pursue his career as passionately as he did (though spite and a need for love and attention are strong, he probably wouldn't have been as effective in his position if he didn't believe what he was preaching to an extent)
im rambling about all of this cause without the need to keep up that 'perfect image' anymore and being ready to start over, aoki would be free to present however he wants without worrying about his image. would he still like to be seen as immaculate ? would he be ok with that more rugged look again ? a part of me doubts it since that was 'the lowest point' of his life, so why go back to it
that's not to mention how preppy was his aesthetic from birth to his 20's, though now i ask if that was his choice or if that's how masumi thought to present him to look like a regular civilian (not saying masumi was being a control freak over him obvi, im just saying did urge masato towards that kind of style yk. it's just a things parents do, and considering masumi is aware the yakuza lifestyle isn't something to aspire to i'm sure he wanted his son to appear as detached from it as he could--but now this is turning into a ramble about masumi SORRY)
plus, by 47/48, i think he would have outgrown the gritty-yet-flashy aesthetic. if anythin, maybe he'd just dress like masumi did during his 20's- not exactly the same, but something similar
assuming he wouldn't be in jail in this timeline and he was Just Chilling, i also have to ask if he'd want to restart his political career but genuinely this time and pursuing things that would actually benefit japanese society. that's tiptoeing into greater speculations tho but it's somethin' to consider if you want to ask 'what would aoki be like in LaD8'
