How would wolfstar act during Barbenheimer? Who wants to see what? How are they dressed?

EEEEEEE i am ALWAYS doing these ALWAYS i love them so much 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶 ((i have some unanswered ones in my inbox i promise im getting to don’t worry 💕💓💞💖))

okay first off we’ve established that they’re both insufferable wanna-be film critics & everyone hates them for it. so keep that in the background. they’re annoying as hell.

so they get wind of oppenheimer first. the teaser plays at a midnight screening of “nope” ((sirius is a jordan peele stan)) and it’s just a bunch of fire and black and white shots of cillian murphy so they’re both like “🙂 huh okay fun.” but then christopher nolan’s name is on the screen and sirius is nearly flying out of his seat bc he’s potentially the world’s biggest chris nolan stan. and he’s hitting remus on the arm and he’s all “👹 FUC K! !!!” and remus is like “oh good another nolan movie that’ll be fun love that” and enduring sirius’ semi-quiet fangirl moment but then he catches on to what the trailer is actually about and “oppenheimer” comes on the end card and then he’s ALSO having a freakout moment & he’s all “oh fuck 😧😧😧 oh fuck it’s oppenheimer 🫢 oh fuck 😵 oh fuck cheistopher nolan’s doing oppenheimer 😵‍💫😵‍ oh god.”

so for the next couple of months they’re both telling all their friends “yes so we’ve heard the inside scoop about nolan’s new film, very ambitious, word on the street is that it’s all practical & the b*mb isn’t CGI” and “did u know that christopher nolan himself created an atom b*mb on set to 1/36th scale” like they’re just making shit up from these random reddit threads & illegitimate news sites and everyone’s like “yeah great okay sure no one cares 🙄”

but then fall rolls around & remus overhears someone on the actual street talking on the phone about a barbie movie. and he does a little google and there it is, greta gerwig is doing a barbie movie with margot robbie, and holy shit sirius is going to freak ((he’s also a greta gerwig stan, they both are, obvi. sirius’ favorite of hers is ladybird and remus’ fav is little women, also obvi)). remus makes the mistake of sending sirius the article ab the movie in a text instead of in person where he could have done some damage control and he immediately gets a facetime where sirius just screeches at him for a good three and a half minutes before a single coherent word comes out of his mouth. so yes, he’s very excited for barbie, and remus is excited for greta gerwig to make everyone cry over a doll.

so they know about the movies separately and then the barbenheimer phenomenon takes over, and they become aware that not only are both movies coming out in july, they’re coming out on the same fucking day. and when they find this out they’re at home on separate sides of the apartment and marlene texts in the gc like “are we doing barbenheimer weekend orrrr” and they both take a minute to catch up but then they’re meeting in the living room like WHATTTTT😵😵😵😵😵😵

they plan a whole weekend. on saturday morning remus gets up early and makes waffles in the heart-shaped waffle maker sirius found months ago specifically for barbenheimer weekend breakfast and even puts red food coloring in the batter so they’re pink hearts with whipped cream and cherries to top it all off. and they do black coffee to drink because it gives oppenheimer vibes & they couldn’t think of anything else appetizing to go with it in a breakfast scenario.

they’re going comfort over style for the premiere bc they’re ab to be at the theater for like seven or eight hours, but sirius is wearing a hot pink malibu barbie baby tee for the occasion. remus is ✨not✨ wearing hot pink bc he’s a ✨warm autumn✨ & it’s ✨not✨ his color but he made sure sirius took one of his sweaters bc he always gets cold at movies and complains he’s freezing until remus gives him his own & that is “not happening this time, sirius, get your own fucking sweater.”

they’re doing barbie first. they got the tickets the second they went on sale, two seats in the middle of the row ⅔ of the way back into the theater bc that’s where sound designers sit for screenings & it’s a perfect view. they get their giant sodas and a big popcorn to share, plus some m&ms they snuck in to do an m&m/popcorn mix ((god tier movie snack fr)). they’re enraptured from the very first scene. giant barbie on a desert background. barbieland. the dream house. ryan gosling. all of it. it’s a masterpiece. they both cry at the end & they’re caught off guard bc wtf this wasn’t supposed to be about mothers??? what the hell???

they have a forty-five minute break between movies where they recover in the lobby for a while & refill the popcorn, but they’re getting one water bottle to share this time bc bathroom breaks are not an option & oppenheimer has like a three and a half hour fucking runtime. like they’re doing bathroom breaks twenty seconds before the movie starts bc missing part of this film would actually destroy them psychologically

they do it in IMAX, obvi, ⅔ back in the middle of the row. it’s an out of body experience. they don’t speak or move the entire time. they don’t speak or move while the credits play. they leave the theater in silence. they go home and sit on the couch and stare at the wall and remus goes “we……we should have seen barbie last.” and then they both look at each other like 😐👀? and then they’re getting up and rushing back to the theater and seeing barbie again

the next day they’re getting together with all their friends to do barbenheimer day 2 and trying not to spoil it but they’ve already talked to each other about the individual movies too much, like they laid in bed and talked about the fucking movies like idiots for multiple hours, so they need new feedback to talk over & correct everyone’s wrong opinions

and like obviously everyone hates them

more Human!Edward headcanons because its about time I add on to my prev list 💙💙

Edward makes his own paper from scratch, change my mind. If anything, he probably likes to scrapbook and has an aesthetic going on.

Furniture he buys is usually thrifted in decent to great condition. If it's in a decent condition, he'll refurbish it to what he thinks it originally was (I would like to take the moment to blame a YT vloggers I have been following for some time, following her journey in restoring her first and second homes 🥺). This is actually where I got the thrifting headcanon from adksfjhskd

His birthday gifts for his friends and loved ones are poems or some sort of writing (he loves poetry)

He likes horror! Just make sure to keep an eye on him after watching a horror movie about killers or unfortunate situations- (source: his sisters)

He is short compared to James and Emily. They tease him about it (affectionately). He's 5' 6", Emily is 5'7", and James is 5'10".

He used to have contacts but stopped wearing them after no longer participating in equestrian events

the injury equivalent of Edward's Exploit is an accident that pretty much took him out of equestrian events for a couple months. you can imagine how heartbroken he was when he received the news of the extent of his injuries. (he collided with another competitor in a race and fell off Maisie, who trampled him by accident out of fear)

When he recovered, he chose to quit for the sake of Maisie. She was getting older and he knew that her time was just around the corner.

He owns porcelain dolls (listen, they're very pretty imo). Do they creep out his friends and loved ones? Yes.

A decent cook. He's learning. (like me frfr)

you bet he went ahead and watched the Barbie movie with James and Emily. took a lot of convincing but he dressed up with them as one of the outfits from the movie. I was originally going for the first outfit Barbie wears (plaid dress) but im thinking a jumpsuit equivalent the original barbie doll.

he's got a sweet tooth! but he does have a limit as to how much he consumes as it begins to disgust him (it doesn't take much)

he LOVES shrimp, especially shrimp cocktail. When Ashima (she's Indian-Mexican in this AU, only because i made her outfit Selena-esque(???) by accident and a friend pointed it out to me) married into the family, she introduced them to a shrimp cocktail recipe that Edward absolutely loves. He uses this recipe instead since then.

Only person capable of making this man swear is Coppernob. (Canon in every universe btw)

one of my favorite parts of the pre-beforever historical doll collections was that each doll came with her own doll!! it said a lot about what toys and toy culture was like in each girl’s respective time period and was a really sweet detail that ive really missed so here’s the doll that i would give to the recent historicals that don’t have one!!

for nanea, you could maybe give her a souvenir hula girl doll just because those were indeed A Thing (and still are) and she might want one since she does hula herself, but it would probably be more realistic for her to have a baby doll. since this is in the early 1940s and plastic isn’t as ubiquitous as it would be after the war, her baby doll would probably be made from oil cloth and maybe latex or celanese acetate. a popular baby doll brand at the time was ideal, so i would give nanea an ideal baby doll!!

for maryellen, 1955 is just before barbie was introduced, so she would probably have a baby doll or a similar kind of doll meant to be tended to in a maternal way or dressed and combed. if we want to stick with maryellen’s theme of getting hand-me-downs, she could get a tiny tears baby doll, which was first introduced in 1950 and could “cry” real tears. she probably wouldn’t be too interested in a baby doll, but it would be a great detail to emphasize her frustration with being stuck in the middle of her family and wanting to explore new things

for melody, she would’ve been growing up during a Big time for dolls and could have her pick of barbie and friends, chatty cathy, and tressy. however, because the importance of melody’s culture in her story, it would be best to give her a doll that looks like her!! she would have a vogue “lil imp” doll, which was briefly popular in the ‘60′s before being drowned out by the more popular fashion dolls. vogue dolls were actually introduced in the ‘20′s, but the 11 inch lil imp dolls debuted in the mid-’60′s and expanded on the original mini fashion doll line to include a black doll that has the hair-brushing and fashion elements a little girl like melody would’ve wanted from a doll in this era!!

yes i know julie got the barbie styling head but that doesn’t count. she needed to have one of the 1974 sports set barbie dolls. any of them would’ve been great.

finally i understand why courtney was given an ag doll and it is a cute little wink but im not sure how much she would really want a molly doll. its probably more realistic that courtney would have wanted a jem doll or she-ra action figure based on the popularity of media-based toy marketing, but for the sake of not doing too much marketing for another doll, courtney would get a my buddy kid sister doll. the my buddy kid sister was one of the most popular toys of 1986 and makes for a great representation of courtney’s burgeoning sense of belonging in her new family!!

just for shits and giggles i want to make a list of dolls i want. from both realistic options to ones that are completely out there

g3 lagoona core refresh - everything about her is soooo adorable. her hair her pants her bag!!! im so serious i neeeddd her. she;'s such a glow up from the first release and i adore lagoona's g3 design

g3 catty noir - she's a cat, she's pink, and she's g3's first plus size doll! i love her so much the more i look at her the more i want her even though i dont need this many dolls...

i also admit the leak of fearbook toralei is very tempting. i dont want her as badly as the other two upcoming releases but as a toralei fan i am so excited to see her with show-accurate hair!

g1 ghoulia yelps - honestly im very confused on the status of her creepro release but i definitely want to grab her if i can. i love ghoulia and i prefer her g1 design so i want herrrr

g1 scarily ever after draculaura - ive been kind of 50/50 on the color scheme of this doll, but the princess who loves lala in me wants this doll... she's definitely an easier g1 doll to get secondhand

g1 sweet screams draculaura - this is probably the most unrealistic, but i simply. LOVE HER. so much. SHES SOOOO CUTE. she's 100% my fav g1 draculaura doll. unfortunately everybody else has the same idea, so she'd be sooo incredibly expensive... really putting the "dream" in "dream doll".

tts rapunzel & cass - i'm always SOOO mad i never got these dolls when they were available . i want to make cassunzel hold hands sooo bad.... i mostly want cass from this set but having them together would be a dream.

i'm not really crazy about rainbow high, but if i ever got a doll from the series... it'd definitely be a pink one! i like these three:

junior high bella parker (i am looking at that bag so intently)

and priscilla perez

i really love the inset eyes on these dolls but something about the proportions of their face / heads turns me off from these dolls. but some of them are very cutes!

im runnign out of ideas so uhh.

princess liana - this doll is very familiar so i think i might of had her actually? i cant wait unti l ifind all my old dolls and fix them up. but the diamond castle is my favorite barbie movie & liana's dress is lesbian colors so of course i want her

id also like princess anneliese.. her dress looks a lot nicer than liana's tbh, but i imagine she's a hard find since patp is such a popular movie.

there are a lot of barbie & disney dolls that id probably loveee to have but i dont have the energy to go through archives of dolls right now. maybe ill add to this in the future lol

i no longer own pink.

yesterday i watched the barbie movie with my mom and naturally i wanted to dress for the occasion.

as i sifted through my closet, i was hit with the realisation that i simply dont own pink anymore.

as a young girl, pink was my favourite color.

shirts, jackets, dresses, accesories, shoes, you name it. along with my love for disney princesses, hello kitty, and of course, barbies.

i was such a doll girl.

i was blessed to have a barbie dreamhouse and a pink corvette in my collection of gifts from several christmases and birthdays.

sometimes i drew on my dolls with marker and/or cut their hair.

but i also took care of them, and i like to think that in a way, they took care of me too.

i remember the initial shift.

growing up my mom and i were very close. back when being young meant your mom was your best friend and spending time with her was free of conflict and misunderstanding.

once we reached the age where our interests began to diverge and early indicators of the version of myself i would finally grow into finally emerged, i suddenly felt alone.

i remember at this point, i had coped through my dolls. too young to articulate how my first encounter with the realities of growing up made me feel.

but now that im older, i can finally give it an earnest shot.

growing up is thinking your mom didnt love you anymore because she didnt want to play dolls with you. then realising it was because she gave birth to another human being and wanted to experience him instead.

growing up is realising you actually had a beautiful childhood. that the things that forced you to mature too soon had obstructed your memory of what it felt like to be a kid.

because you grew up with a younger brother, and both parents, and even two sets of grandparents.

growing up is realising that on average, parents have eighteen years with their child. that is a shorter amount of time than we realise while we are living through it.

growing up is aknowledging that you couldve expressed more gratitude, couldve complained less or acted less annoyed when your mother wanted to take photos of and with you.

growing up is realising the depth of the quote from the film: "we mothers stand still so our daughters can look back and see how far they have come."

growing up is realising how similar you are to your mother and finding more and more parallels between you and her as you get older.

to grow up is to realise the concept of growing up.

it is to grieve the past versions of ourselves while simultaneously stepping into the next one.

as we get older, time feels as though it passes faster because we become increasingly conscious of its value and its loss.

growing up is like watching the barbie movie and its message piercing like a needle through the fabric of your childhood.

but it does not damage you with its puncture. instead, it gently pokes around, as if tickling your inner child to wake it, reminding you of how it felt to grow up as a young girl playing with her barbie dolls.

it is crying at the movie theater with absolutely no shame.

it is smiling at the young girl and her mother in the row in front of you when you walked in the theater and seeing the lone elderly woman in the row behind you, who also sat through the credits, for you all came to watch the same film.

it is remembering that you gave away all your dolls once you "grew out of them" at a certain age.

it is then remembering that you left your two-story barbie dreamhouse in the trash room when you moved countries cause it was too big to conveniently fit anywhere and had a lot of missing broken parts.

it is wishing you had kept at least one doll.

it is realising the same thing applied to your childhood clothes, given to younger family members, donated, or (for the really worn out ones) simply thrown out.

growing up is realising why you dont own pink anymore.

and it is wanting to go and change that.

A Brief (?) Analysis of the Barbie (2023) Teaser

here’s the teaser itself btw

ok So. first of all getting a teaser that looks so polished this early on (considering this comes out in July) is kind of amazing. it makes me wonder just how much special effects it will have, and if there’s any particular reason for it to be released specifically in july of 2023 (apart from competing with nolan’s latest).

but to what matters: i have three big questions regarding this movie so far. 1. who’s the target audience, 2. what time it is set in, 3. what place it is set in. all of them are more ambiguous than it sounds.

1. who’s the target audience

we don’t get a mpaa rating, but i’m gonna assume it will be pg-13 (as most movies are nowadays it feels like). i do not believe this will be targeted towards kids, which makes me curious to what sort of message it will try to send its audience and what themes it’s trying to convey. from the admittedly unreliable original plot that was announced, in which barbie is kicked out of barbieland for not being “perfect” enough (which tbh i dont love as a base concept), i had a feeling this would be a sort of enchanted 2007-style movie. barbie has to leave her dreamhouse for the grimy reality, ken might chase after her through the real world to bring her back, maybe will ferrel’s big bad executive discovers shes left and tries to ‘discontinue’ her or something, barbie will learn about self-acceptance or bravery or self-reliance or her own inner strength along the way, happy ending. i want to give gerwig and baumbach a little more credit, though, and say that they can do something more interesting. not being focused on sending a positive message to kids, and hopefully being allowed by mattel to actually put barbie in challenging situations can help this happen.

also, there has been (again, unreliable) reports on the movies that influenced this barbie feature: where i had thought, thinking of a children’s movie version, about enchanted 2007 meets the lego movie 2014, or even something like legally blonde 2001, theres jacques demy movies and the truman show 1998 --which i think is absolutely fascinating. this does promise a more “grown up” narrative, which im excited to see.

2. what time it is set in

one of the first images we see are of little girls playing with baby dolls, dressed in this old-timey but still twentieth century fashion.... considering the reveal at the end of this sequence, it would be safe to say they’re meant to be 1950s little girls. i have a feeling this sequence is either just for the teaser or it won’t have much actual weight in the movie --it’s meant to be a joke, is what im trying to say. still, it does give a glimpse of what the general style and tone of the movie will be like.

(this is also just a detail but i love how the girls’ clothes are all in these dusty dirt tones that make them blend with the background, its very much in line with how “life was all dull and grim until Barbie™ showed up!!”)

and also, it makes the pink pop out, of course. but the lettering is usually a great indicator of tone and time a movie is set in: and this lettering in particular, used around the late 1970s throughout the 1980s, i think is really good to make a guess. i don’t think the movie will be set in any particular time (at least not the scenes in “barbieland”, but more on that later) but choosing a styling more associated with the 80s does make the story one that is less focused on modern critiques and successes associated with the brand and more on the nostalgic feeling of the doll itself. separating the modern brand from the past also allows for a much broader critique, which makes for any self-aware jokes much easier than if it mocked decisions made by modern-day mattel, is what i mean (this is what i meant by associating it with enchanted 2007: the disney movie was made decades after the cliches it mocks, like the helpless princess who sings to animals and marries the prince rightaway, so at least to me it was funny but not particularly topical or timely. like a modern mocking of victorian corset-wearing, its not the sort of critiques i find particularly urgent or interesting to make)

3. what place it’s set in

the united states of course, probably los angeles --but i mean it in what reality its gonna be set. from my enchanted-meets-lego movie perspective, i thought it would differentiate between the barbieland (the clear artificial space these characters inhabit) and the real world (where barbie goes to learn a valuable lesson)

(the lack of privacy is astounding, which, if we are really going to go the truman show route, is pretty cool in and of itself. and also an amazing feat of set design, if it’s all real sets)

the teaser shows all “artificial” spaces, which by the production design all seem part of barbieland. i’m assuming its to convey the fun glitzy comedy tone of the movie so far, which would probably be more developed once we get a full length trailer. though, if the whole movie is set in barbieland (since those reports of the plot are admittedly pretty old and i think gerwig and baumbach have done extensive rewrites, if not a complete overhauling of the script), that could also be very interesting. by not having a parallel reality, we would have to see barbie develop own opinions and change this whole society from the ground up, instead of having the influence of a real world’s views affecting her and pushing her to change. i don’t think thats truly the case (the existence of will ferrel’s lord business-style matter executive villain/antagonist throws a wrench on this theory) but it would still be fun to see.

all in all, even with a brief teaser we get a lot of info. i believe so far that this will not be meant to be a children’s movie (so any hopes that it will do a shoutout to the direct-to-video movies are rather moot), it will focus on a nostalgic version of barbie instead of any set in the present or in an actual time period, and that at least the reports of there being a “barbieland” are true. it exists, and its plastic, and fantastic, and very, very pink

I saw Barbie last night, I dont think i have a long film review of it for yall but idk I'll put some thoughts under a readmore I guess?

-Right off the bat, I enjoyed it, it was fun. It was a fun pink poppy romp. Thats about what I expected of it, and thats pretty much what I got

-Its not particularly radical in its gender/feminism takes, its very basic, which, I saw a number of ppl mention that before I saw it so I wasnt expecting anything radical. It couldve done better. it was. fine. im shrug about it i guess.

-My mom enjoyed it and was apparently not expecting any sort of emotional depth or story at all so it caught her off guard. I heard her crying. she cries easy at movies. I'm glad my mom liked it. Maybe she'll absorb some of the very basic feminism it drops idk.

-I knew the Kens adopted patriarchy and introduced it to Barbieland but it felt lile that happened very fast, idk.

-The ending....I. is her going to a gynecologist supposed to be like. shes gotten a vagina by deciding to be human?? or is she trying to schedule a surgery or something? that felt pretty weird to me if im honest, i thought it was gonna be a job interview or smth... Especially with how everyone was like "Barbie is ace (heheeh i agree) cos she has no genitals! (sorry what. excuse me. wanna run that by me again?)" like okay that makes that headcanon reasoning even more dewply uncomfortable that it already was?

-I enjoyed weird Barbie. i wish theyd cast someone else cos iirc ka/te mckin/non was a transmisogynist? unless she apologized or said she changed her mind on the topic since like 2017?? but i havent seen anything? idk. just. annoying to keep platforming these ppl. i guess theres probably other actors involved that have shit views of trans ppl. whatever i guess.

-I did dress up a little. i feel like my outfit had Weird Barbie Vibes. maybe ill post a pic.

-I did enjoy it and it had a number of shots and or transitions i liked, i think the one with the disco ball to the moon or whatever was enjoyable.

-god we really are so weird about barbie

-it just feels factually incorrect that all dolls pre barbie were baby dolls? idk. im sure it was the most common kind. but idk. not to be weird about The History Of Dolls but like. the porcelain dolls from the Victorian era. idk if those count as baby dolls. iirc those were to help young girls practice prepping dead bodies of loved ones for funerals or smth??? but i guess porcelain dolls have a sort of babyish look about them. and are fragile so you cant play rough with them.

-Like i Know its a 2hr long toy commercial for mattel but also god that cant be right. even if they werent filling the same niche as barbie as idk basically a fashion doll? there had to be other dolls right?

-I know the flat foot thing is Supposed to be over the top and silly for them all to get upset about but also tbh. as a bitch with falling arches the way some of yall make jokes about flat feet still is uh. well. rude. but also lmao man. the day my arches started hurting for no reason while i was barefoot did sorta feel emotionally like her feet falling to the ground lol.

-i want to introduce barbie to margot robbie's harley quinn owo. i think that would be Fun :3

-i want Ken's job. how do i do Beach as an occupation.

-I actually liked how they handled Ken and Barbie's rship til the end. i feel weird about that ending overall and also it feels weak wrt her dynamic as Ken. they make him grapple w her not reciprocating his feelings the same way but then she just leaves barbieland anyway?? and ig they dont get to explore a friendship or qpr dynamic. ok. its fine i guess.

-her saying she has no genitalia felt so transgender in a way im not sure it was intended to. ken saying he has all of the genitalia felt even more transgender. headcanoning them both as extremely transgender in fun weird new ways and no one can stop me.

-Allan is my favorite character i think. bro me too

One of the first barbie movies i watched as a child was nutcracker and it was so terrifying it traumatized me and i cannot rewatch it to this day

Island princess also somewhat confused and disturbed me as a child like "why cant she understand people what" and the whole POISONING ANIMALS thing but i got over it its not terrible lol

When i was 7 i went to a family event sort of thing and they had prizes for the kids and i got to choose between a doll+dvd set of swan lake or princess and the pauper. Iirc i chose swan lake but later swapped because p+p had Two girls on the cover but i eventually went home with swan lake because her dress was pretty. I ended up hating the movie and my friend beheaded the doll (with my encouragement) when i was 12

I hated nori and nalu from mermaida alike growing up because nori was a bitch and at least nalu had that silly carousel of confusion moment but its only very recently that i discovered that norinis actually. Very pretty. Ahem-

I ended up buying the barbie i was eying off at my local big w. turns out she’s actually not a fashionista, she’s a career barbie so. sorry for misleading you guys lol. She’s the interior design barbie, or, as i call her, prosthetic leg barbie. She’s the only modern barbie’s ive ever purchased, and second only playline barbie i’ve ever got new. Interestingly, or not, prosthetic leg barbie is almost always the last doll standing everywhere i’ve been to that sells barbies, which is what prompted me to commit and buy her. I like to root for the underdog.

As far as the doll herself, she’s really cute! I think my issue is not with the dolls themselves, modern barbies are all very cute -- Though my preference will always be the kind of cunty looking 2000′s bitches -- I just think the lame and ugly clothes always let them down. This doll is no exception. Her pink dress had no shape, and was boring and ugly. But I did like her little houndstooth david jones jacket and pink slip ons. Her little plastic ipad feels cheap but she can hold it, her other accessory is cardboard. which is kind of lame. Her hair was rubber banded down and has a crease in it, but that doesn’t bother me. I might fix it next time im boiling dolls. we’ll see. As for the prosthetic itself...it’s okay. It does come off, which is kind of cool (?) I wonder if that’s so you can change out the silver one for the pink one if you have that doll? Not sure. I like that it’s removable but it feels a bit pointless at this juncture. It’s unpainted - Normal for mattel - and i guess it looks like a prosthetic if you’re a child and you don’t know what a prosthetic limb looks like.

Overall. I think she’s really cute! She kind of looks like the little sister of my cuntier 2000′s barbies. She actually looks more like my steffi’s than my barbies tbh. So. There you go. I caved and brought a modern barbie.

the first and only time aria and ten had a duet was during their last concert on superm’s first world tour. during the second half of ten’s solo performance, aria emerged from the left side of the stage, coming to join him in the centre stage. no one had ever seen aria as serious as she was then, both herself and ten becoming completely different people in the moment. midway through, aria spun with her back to ten and leaped backwards into the air - eyes closed - completely trusting ten to be where she needed him to be to catch her.

despite what they might say to each other, they don’t mean any of it - and winwin has been seen several times raising his eyebrows with a questioning look at aria to make sure she wasn’t taking any of his playful jabs to heart

the entirety of nct is terrified of them

the day sm gives them a circus act is the day that kun and taeyong have a heart attack

quietly supportive of each other - catch aria “playing” with a water bottle and not getting up to get it when it conveniently rolls across the floor and into winwin’s leg

he makes sure to save some new chinese sweets whenever the wayv members get packages from their familes, and sneak it into aria’s room before the managers can catch her breaking her diet

not really physically affectionate with each other, which played into czennies idea that they didn’t like each other but aria cleared it up in a vlive

there was a mutual agreement to not try fill the silence with awkward small talk, so they sat in silence when left alone together

he was a little intimidated of her at first, but also really curious about how she was holding her own against the other members

hendery knows what it’s like to miss home, to miss your parents, etc etc

and so he tries to make aria feel as home as possible - especially with wayv, because they’re all foreigners who know how she feels

whenever he gets packages from his parents who have sent things over, he always makes sure to keep some of the small treats/sweets back for aria

1. because he knows she’ll appreciate the thought and she gives good hugs

2. because he knows she’s on a diet constantly and never allowed eat these things when she’s in the dorms with managers around

FAN FAVOURITE MOMENT.

filming the Resonance “Wish” event, aria was put in a skimpy minimalistic mock-suit to differentiate from the others’ clothes. unfortunately, that left aria with a little too much shoulder and chest on display than she would like, and she was noticeably uncomfortable with her clothes, constantly pulling it up and even going so far as to just hold it with her hands.

hendery saw this, and knew he was finished filming his segment for the time being, so he pulled off his own jacket and tossed it over to aria, who caught it with a grateful smile. “thank you,” she mouthed to him, tugging the dark blue material over her shoulders.

they met before yangyang’s debut was announced, in a practice room that had let them accidentally overlap their practice times

instead of working it out between them, they actually just started to alternate their songs - and the other gave them some good, constructive criticism

when they found out they were going to be in 90s Love together, they were so happy

it was going to be their first official schedule together

all the behind-the-scenes videos are just aria and yangyang being children and then ten coming over and cooing at them

they love ten, but they will trash talk the man behind his back

yangyang confessed to her that he sometimes feels nervous when speaking korean, like he’s going to make a big mistake

so she tries her best to teach and correct him where she can, and make him as comfortable as possible

if you look at any of the 90s Love promotions - aria is always beside yangyang

"So maybe I am jealous"

Nathan Young x Reader

Word Count: 1.7k

Warnings: nothing really but slight language, heavy kissing

a/n: This is just Nathan getting jealous when you go to the bar, he starts getting a little possessive

This is my first Nathan Fic so yeah, constructive criticism is definitely wanted 💛

As you were cleaning the windows of the community center you were not oblivious to the glances Nathan threw at you. This had been going on for a while now and you were desperately waiting for him to finally make a move. He was usually too cocky for his own good, but when you actually wanted him to be honest and upfront he kept his pretty lips sealed.

You thought your hints were quite obvious, the way you laughed at his bad jokes and smiled at his disgusting antics. Nathan didn't seem to pick up on all of this though.

Wiping down the soapy window, you spied a young man walking through the community center looking around rather lost. You walked past Nathan, sparing him a lingering gaze he didn't notice and stalked through the double doors into the community center.

-"hey, I saw you wandering around in there multiple times, uhm anyway can I help you find your way?"

-"yeah that would be nice. This place is like a labyrinth and I keep on walking the same halls over and over again"

-"oh, believe me I know. Where can I guide you... ?", you asked noticing you didn't know his name yet and letting your sentence drifting off into nothingness.

- "I'm sorry, it's Ken, I am looking for Sally, do you happen to know her?"

-" I'm [y/n]. I know Sally, she must be wandering around here somewhere doing whatever she does all day long, but I can show you to her office if you like?"

-"Thank you [y/n], you are my saviour!"

You chuckled lightly at his comment and started to lead him to Sally's office, still smiling softly to yourself. Ken was a good looking young fella, there was no denying that. Easy conversation flowed between the two of you as you passed the window the other five were currently cleaning. You could feel their gazes on you as you passed. Nathan's eyes followed you far longer down the halls than you would have expected.

-"What is she doing there with that twat?", Nathan exclaimed rather irritated.

-"What do ya think, dickhead, she's talking to him", Kelly stated matter-of-factly while rolling her eyes at Nathan. His thoughts kept bothering him. He didn't know why he was so irritated by you hanging around with another guy, it's not like there was something going on between them, was there?

You arrived Infront of the office doors and saw Sally sitting inside talking animately on the phone.

-"I should get going before she sees me. I don't want to get any more work put on my shoulders today. See yah around sometime?", you said hurriedly, really not wanting Sally to catch you there when you had work to finish.

-"wait!", Ken called out to you as you turned around, "would you like to go out for a drink tonight?", he finished, his cheeks starting to glow in soft hues of red. His smile stayed on, though, and turned quite cheeky. He was up for mischief and you most definitely knew it. He actually had the balls to ask you out, unlike the guy you set your eyes on. Getting your mind of Nathan for a night won't hurt right?

-"yes I would like that"

-"I will meet you here at seven then [y/n]?"

You agreed before bidding your goodbyes and hurrying back to the windows, smiling goofily.

"Mind telling us who the guy was [y/n]?", Alisha asked smirking, nudging a very grumpy looking Nathan.

"Uhm, that was Ken, wanted to talk to Sally I guess", you answered, unsure where this conversation would lead.

"he looks like he could give you right a good time, you know?", Alisha added, evil smirk broadening, splitting her face.

Nathan grumbled a quiet "I'm done" under his breath while turning to leave.

"I might find out t'night, we're going out for a couple pints at the bar later", you answered not knowing whether or not you wanted Nathan to hear about your plan. The question answered itself as soon as you finished when Nathan twirled back around, eyebrows pulled together and exclaimed: "Oh really? Have fun shaggin' the bastard then tonight". You noticed the sarcastic tone in his voice and for a split second you thought you heard a pinch of pain in his voice, but the thought disappeared as soon as Nathan stomped away.

"What's the matter with 'im?", Kelly wondered out loud. The answer was unknown to you all, Kelly probably hearing your thoughts trying to put the pieces together.

Later in the locker room you took your time, hoping to get a moment alone with Nathan but he seemed to be too much in a hurry to get away from you. He did not look back, he didn't even say goodbye to anyone that day. You tried to shrug it of as well as you could while changing out of your orange jumpsuit.

At seven sharp you reached the Community Center and saw Ken already waiting for you, looking at his watch absentmindedly. As you reached him you couldn't help but smile. He was dressed in Jeans and a dress shirt. You looked out of place dressed in your usual jeans and sweatshirt.

-"You look lovely tonight [y/n]", Ken beamed at you.

-"Thank you, you don't look too shabby yourself there", you answered, slightly blushing at his words.

You walked to the bar close to each other but not quite touching. Smalltalk flooded the cool evening air and you welcomed the comfortable heat inside the bar he chose, as you stepped over the threshold.

He was the definition of a gentleman all throughout the date. Polite, charming. But something put you off, it seemed forced and not genuine. Nonetheless you enjoyed yourself and you had a good time.

He walked you home that night, confidently grasping your hand, his grip was tight and not comforting at all, but you brushed it off. When the two of you arrived at your doorstep you lingered for a few moments.

-"so this is it. That's me right here."

The moment you said that Ken leaned down and his face closed in on yours. Shocked and overwhelmed by his sudden action you turned your head away. His lips brushing your cheeks instead. He pulled away, "when will I see you again?", he sighed.

-"soon", was the only thing you muttered as you turned and opened your door, slipping inside and leaning against the closed door, letting out the breath you held.

As you walked to Community Service early the next morning you thought back to the little date you had the night prior. Even though it brought a slight smile to your face and a glow to your skin, it also made you shiver slightly.

Last night after the community service Nathan left the locker room as fast as he could. He didn't want to talk to [y/n] then, he doesn't want to now either. In his tiny mind you chose that bastard over him. So that night he sat alone on the balcony, letting his legs tumble down swinging them lightly. He had pizza that night, but the knot in his stomach didn't let him finish it. He himself couldn't tell what was wrong. A scowl decorated his usually carefree face.

"Ken? What's that for a Barbie doll shit name?", he mumbled to himself. But there is no way he could be jealous of that wanker.

Nathan looked into the mirror. He had it all, face, body hell his hair should be enough to sweep [y/n] of her feet.

He was back to his cocky self when you entered the locker room, slight spring in your step and a gentle smile tugging at your lips.

"Hey there, how are you today?", you greeted him, trying to sound casual.

"Amazing, why wouldn't I be ? How was your date with Barbie?", he bit back.

"Is somebody jealous?", you teased wondering where this new found confidence came from.

"Why would I be jealous of him? I mean have you seen him? Have yah seen me? ", Nathan replied hastily, you could see his tough exterior faltering slightly.

"Nathan, I think you are", you were getting more and more sure of yourself, some might even say you were getting cocky.

"So yeah maybe I am jealous but what does that matter anyway now? You got that dickhead with ya now", he didn't even try to hide his sarcastic tone.

"Who told you that, I am nobody's property", you told Nathan as you stepped closer to him, "I think you're cute when you're jealous, Nathan".

"I am not cute [y/n], do you want me to proof that to yah?", Nathan , now smirking, closed the distance between the two of you. You backed up against the cold metall of the locker with a thud. His green eyes bored steadily into yours, occasionally flicking to your slightly parted lips. You were at a loss for words at his sudden boldness, but you weren't complaining. This was what you were waiting for all along. As your thoughts tumbled around your mind, Nathan leaned in an captured your lips with his. Slowly at first but the kiss grew heated fast.

Your heart rate exhilarated, and both of your breaths grew heavier. You pulled away to get a gasp of air into your lungs. One of Nathan's hands rested next to your head and the other softly at your hips. Your foreheads leaned against eachother as you caught your breaths.

"You don't know how long I've been wanting to do that and way more to you", Nathan breathed out. "Yeah, me neither", you contered, chest still heaving heavily. Without any more words you leaned back in, continuing where you left off. Tounges battling for dominance exploring each others mouths thoroughly. Nathan's narrow hips started to grind against yours, eclicting a soft moan from you, harmonizing with his low grunt. You totally lost yourself in him when the sound of the heavy locker room door destroyed the atmosphere.

"Oh .. my god... That is disgusting", Kelly exclaimed, "what do you think you're doing in 'ere?"

"I was just showing [y/n] there that I am not cute, and was about to give her a demonstration of the beast that is now awake", Nathan said while biting his lip and suggestively winking in your direction. You blushed, the taste of him still lingering in your mouth, leaving you wanting more. To be continued, you hoped.

ITS CLEO TIME!! pt 1

it stopped raining :)

thanks to @madam-melon-meow for asking for more pics, I just love photographing my queen :)

Og versus reboot

first thing I noticed is that the originals were quite diverse i their outfits and colors pallettes, it all still made sense to her style and character yes one Cleo is wearing an outfit that isn't hers, I got her at a peddlers mall. from what I have of the reboot and what I've seen, its kind of hit or miss.

Some of the reboot outfits matched the theme she was given, but don't seem to match Cleo. I dont think ive ever said this but its no secret that the Electrified Cleo is my absolute least favorite. They did her so incredibly dirty. Actually they did all of them dirty, why the hell did they bring back crimped hair!?!?

but back to the clothes really quick, a good chunk of the og outfits had a bandage motif to it or added bandage bits to the overall look. None of the reboot dolls have that. Yes they have the molded bandages on her arm and leg (which i actually like, I think its a neat little detail) but it feels like an after thought, just left out. Shes a mummy!! Its apart of her you can't just leave it out!! Otherwise she looks like a very fashionable normie.

theres also the fact that og Cleos outfits had a lot of detail and were normally multiple pieces to create the look. Reboot ones are like maybe two pieces if that. Yea some og ones were just a dress but at least it looked good and felt right for her.

back to the hair: the quality of the hair also went down significantly. The reboot hair feels cheap and much more plastic-y and never wants to lay how i want it, I mean you can see that some of the bangs are messed up. I mean the originals weren't always the greatest, but overall I never had too much issue aside from some tinsel.

in regards to the face ups, holy heck it was so easy to tell what Cleo was what just by her eyeshadow!! there is so little difference in the reboot faces. Its really only the hair that gives it away. I do enjoy her reboot face somewhat tho, its cute but also Cleo is 5,000+ yrs old and in the reboot she looks like a child, I mean her eyes are so much larger too its almost a little off-putting. I much prefer the more mature looks of the originals. It gave her a more serious im-in-charge kinda vibe.

Also all the lip colors are practically the same. I mean you gotta match it to the outfit and that doesn't seem to be what happened.

Really quick umm I love the og outfit, its probably my fav but the og doll herself was uhh well... the re-release they did it my fav hands down. There was a time I brushed her hair religiously every day bc I was just so obsessed with her which also speaks to the quality. Its so soft and lays how I want it to this day and I've been carrying her around (yes sometimes she just lived in my bag) for years and she still looks good. The re-release outfit is lacking some minor details but nothing too serious.

Og Cleo versus reboot og Cleo. I gotta say, I kinda like it but it will never be anywhere near as iconic as her og outfit. Like nothing can top that tbh.

The details and colors are nice, but it doesn't feel her. Again its that feeling of aging her down and thats reflected in the color choices, not to mention the random pattern choices. That shirt with those pants? Og Cleo would eat you alive. The earrings slap tho, I want those.

You can also tell that the reboot Cleos are a lot more orange. I think they were trying to make her darker and failed in that respect.

Didn't know where to add this but also reboot accessories were seriously lacking in details. Like a lot of modern barbie stuff, its just a chunk of plastic that might have a neat pattern or design but it gets lost bc its just the one color. Also nearly all her shoes were just gold, like I get it but come on aside from the reboot og those were... a choice. quick note, one of the reboot Cleos isn't wearing her shoes which are my favs actually bc the heels are cats. That was the best thing to come from the reboot hands down, like I actually bought the doll just for her shoes. I'll see if I can find them for pt2.

I cant add anymore images, but I did want to talk about a few more things lol this is just an off the top of my head kinda info so consider this part one of two as the title says :)
