2. evancelion: hi nicole! I love the outdoors and urban exploring, especially at night. I love your album covers and on-location music videos and photoshoots. if i can ask, where do you find the pictures and locations that you use (excluding album covers that are drawn artwork)? For example, the flowers of flesh and blood, beautiful and bad EP, etc. etc.?

Nicole: for those u specifically mentioned (flowers of flesh and blood, beautiful and bad EP)- flowers cover was a victorian mourning photo, and the beautiful and bad ep was a photo of my friend matt's head actually haha - but as for abandoned locations..for the sake of preserving those places, i don't want to disclose where they specifically are ( i just noticed that is generally a code amongst folks who enjoy exploring abandoned places). generally the east coast tho. ♡

3. bratzaliciouz: do you have any favorite youtubers/youtube accounts you like to watch?♡♡

4. cocobanana: hey nicole!! im like your #1 fan im so excited to be able to ask you a question omgomg. you are sooo cute and inspirational! you have NO idea how much your music means to me, its gotten me through some tough times. my question is what is your opinion on drakes song toosie slide? and if maybe we might see you dance to it?? i would love that!!! haha love you!!!!!

Nicole: that means so much to me! Thank u so much. Oh my god my opinion is that I have not knowingly (maybe on the radio unknowingly?!) heard that song. I’ll have to listen haha

5. westernstars: does the uncertainty of how some of the more macabre aspects of the music is going to be perceived or possibly misconstrued by the listener ever concern you personally, or has it ever gotten in the way of your writing process?

Nicole: It didn’t before (like way way back), but I think at times it should’ve. It does now tho, and sometimes makes writing a lot harder

Nicole: its so hard to say with the pandemic and everything going on right now, but i've got 11 'for sure' songs for it right now and i'm using the quarantine to keep writing/work on new demos ♡

10. kieru: Nicole! idk if this is weird or selfish to ask, but I left some prints of artwork I made that were inspired by you with one of the merch guys at the Chicago Show in August, and I was just wondering if you ever got them!!

Nicole: omg yes! i don't have them up yet (all my picture frames have been a mess since i moved) but i'm putting them up. they are amazing! ur so talented. i remember when u shared the alligator blood one online way back ♡ Thank u so much.

11. coma-bby: Nicole! Im always fascinated by an artists process and im curious as to what album was most memorable/special to create? Or what album, if you can choose, is closest to your heart? Luv u + miss u!!

Nicole: hi!!! ♡♡ heart shaped bed is nearest and dearest to my heart bcuz i feel like it came rly close to being a swan song record. it was made during very bad years/an intensely abusive situation. so it will always hold this heavy weight 4 me! also matt and i put so much blood sweat tears into that damn thing haha :heart:

12. archangelofteeth: Will you ever be doing covers again? I've been listening through a lot of your old ones and it's so cool to hear your take on them ♡

Nicole: i really wanna properly cover i've written a letter to daddy haha

13. yungnick: favorite meme at the moment? of all time?

Nicole: it has to be the guy crying smoking a joint

14. dollface: what makes you cry?

Nicole: recently my dog had an emergency surgery and i was crying nonstop all the time. i would do anything in the world to be able to communicate a few things to him like, 'were gonna be back to get u soon' 'its going to be ok' and have him understand

Nicole: hey!! it put a lot of visual plans on hold, but using the quarantine to keep writing has been fun, i feel like because of this it's going to be a really long record ..

16. Bunny: Is there anything you want to let your fans know? Like anything you've been excited about or enjoy and just haven't found the right situation to tell anybody?

Nicole: this is such a cute question. one thing i'd like to let u guys know is that i fucking love u and appreciate u all so so much. i have a lot of anxiety around most social media stuff (as im sure most do), and i feel like that makes it really hard to interact sometimes. im so excited abt this discord bcuz it feels like a wonderful place to be able to talk ♡ thanks for being such wonderful and loving ppl.

17. gray: nicole are u still close friends with grimes

Nicole: we live on opposite coasts, but i love her so much. she's an amazing, amazing fucking person

18. laudanumat33: One of the most striking songs you've written has been "Cement." At first I thought you were addressing another person or possibly making a distant references to the film "The Cement Garden" (unlikely, but still). However, as time has gone on I've wondered if you are actually addressing yourself, but wasn't sure how. Recently I read somewhere that the lyrics might possibly be related to River Phoenix and letting the idea of him go. Was that the case?

Nicole: Thank u ♡ it was about how u can't possess/own people

19. Space Angel: Do you plan on making physical releases for your next album? And is there a reason NBL and HSB didn’t have physical releases?

Nicole: Yes I do! for both Natural Born Losers and Heart Shaped Bed, it was a decision mainly based on wanting to get the music released online first. especially with HSB, it had been so long since the last record, and putting off the release for even longer for vinyl felt like the wrong call. but i have plans for both of them!!

20. ana: Hi Nicole! Love you, I’ve been a fan since almost 2 years. Was just wondering, are you planning on releasing Heart Shaped Bed album on SoundCloud?

Nicole: omg i should do this later tonight , its wack i havent already!

21. nathanresi: hey nicole!! i was listening to the new code orange record and was certain i had heard your voice somewhere on the first two tracks! are the backing vocals on ‘swallowing the rabbit whole’ yours?

Nicole: i did samples 4 (deeperthanbefore), Swallowing The Rabbit Hole & Cold.Metal.Place ♡

22. ༓ shinigami ༓: would you redo or do part 2's or 3's of any songs?

Nicole: so far all the songs for the new record are all entirely new songs, but the 1 that im always tempted to 'redo' is only angels have wings. the demo of it was way less watered down in terms of lyrics and when i went back and listened to it i regretted chickening out /taking out some of the lyrics 4 the album version

23. dollface: what do you do when you have writer's block? love you so much btw, the beauty of your art is just /chef's kiss/

Nicole: oh god, the only thing that really helps me i guess in the end, is to write even when i hate every word. and to not obsessively edit and micro manage while i'm going... i think usually my writers block comes from critiquing it while im writing it. so i tell myself to keep going until i've finished 'the draft' . ugh im sorry if this is not much help. always having a book to read on the side definitely helps too!

⤑ VALETINE’S HEADCANONS

B : BOUQUET. does your muse like flowers? which ones are their favourite?

raleigh: he likes flowers in the sense of being around during hikes. so, if there’s a purple flower by a rock, he’ll comment that’s a pretty purple, internally or externally. but he isn’t someone to go out of his way to pick flowers out at a store (even, again, he may find a bouquet pretty when walking by) and he doesn’t really know the names of flowers compared to his preference of trees. he loves trees. but i’ll save that for another day. but, if he has to name a flower...

liz: yeah... she likes roses, mainly red or white roses. though, while roses are her favorite, she may buy something that looks nice / fits the current theme for her interior design. however, she’s not the best with maintaining plants, so they don’t last long. but she’s the most likely to buy a bouquet of flowers as a gift, either for a close friend she knows like flowers or a romantic partner. she’ll also make sure to know what flowers said people would like to best, which includes succulents.

jamie: im not quite sure about his own preferences to flowers, mainly because it’s not something he thinks about. however, like liz, he’ll buy flowers for someone he cares about. first to come to mind was his college ex, where he would always get flowers after on of her dance recitals.

maddie: she loves loves loves flowers! her favorite are sunflowers, but daisies, carnations, & chrysanthemums are on the top of her list. heck, she even has a tattoo (bonus link about all her tatts & the brothers; the main one here is #7 for maddie, though i do have to update this) she’s also someone who looks closely at floral meaning, though she often just uses her own meanings based on how she views the design / color & the other person. for example, she regrets how yellow carnations mean rejection since yellow is maddie’s color, but will combined yellow & red roses as both representation of liz & herself and the happiness having her sister around brings her. she may even wear floral patterns, definitely more than liz, and use floral designs in her artwork. and, yeah, more like to work at a flower shop in those tropey flower shop au’s.

D : DATE. what is your muse’s ideal date? where / who with / etc?

general: im answering this as the ideal first date, or early dates. while i think some of the settings to personalities shown in these answer may show the type of people that can fit these, im not going to say ‘who with’ since there’s a lot of flexibility on dating & “P” sorta answers that.

raleigh: somewhere that isn’t too crowded but isn’t too private either. so, don’t expect anywhere like a club or a home. he’ll like hiking the best, especially with his dogs & other pets around. while trails can be private, there’s also people that can come by & it’s not a crowded space. cafes at slow hours are also fine too. and outdoor settings, so like eating outside or dogs parks or just outside. he’s an outdoor person at heart, and spending hours in the hospital or off days where he can hardly get out the bed makes him appreciate any time he can get outside more, so he’ll prefer those as early dates, even if it’s as simple as reading on a park bench hearing the water. oh! and museums! he loves all kinds of museum & aquariums, maybe zoos.

liz: she doesn’t date. don’t say that you’re dating. who cares if she spends more time with you, mainly doing things you like or asks you to meet her at her special chocolate shop so she can see what types of chocolates you like while you seeing all the dark chocolate she selects. or cooks for you or she even helps you with things you’ve been struggling with, even as she struggles herself at certain things. you both go to the bar together without either of you hooking up with anyone else despite that being “the purpose.” hell, who cares if the two of you made out while stargazing on the top of a skyscraper or travelled to an open field or even woke up to the smell of breakfast the morning after. who cares if everyone calls you a couple or you fell yourself falling for her & the private moments you know she doesn’t share with anyone else but you: she 👏 doesn’t 👏 date. 👏

jamie: a sporting event may be something fun. and especially couple workouts. but also horseback riding together or being around animals. there’s also him cooking for his date, though he can tolerate going out to restaurants. but, overall, there needs to be some sort of active activity alongside the date just because he has a hard time staying still.

maddie: concerts from other artists or her & the date playing music together. but she likes museums or aquariums too, though she leans towards art museums or photo galleries. then there’s even more exciting events like paintball or roller skating. i think she’s inbetween jamie & raleigh in the sense that she needs to be active but can be tranquil when the moment is right, and that she prefers more public locations but can be in big crowds.

P : PARTNER. what does your muse look for in a partner? looks / personality?

raleigh: uh, someone that’s strong & independent. someone that can take a leadership role but isn’t too demanding. while feeling he needs guidance sometimes, he likes his independence too. and definitely someone who doesn’t mind being around his dogs or mind husky hair on them, of course.

liz: these are not things she necessary look for, but things i’ve realize occurs with romantic ships... someone she feels needs some sort of guidance in their life or someone that accepts liz trying to take care of everything. so someone submissive (mainly in bed) yet being able to remind liz to not overwork herself. because a lot of her partners give her advice or suggestions that can change her mindset or try to work to what the partner wants, even if she pretends to remain distant about it. she’s VERY internal & isn’t going to communicate her own wants, because she does get to the point where partner > her. and im about to go off topic since this isn’t about what she looks for in her partner uh... she likes tattoos & leans towards artistic people or people in subjects that can tell her things she doesn’t know much about (and she likes all sorts of knowledge). occasionally she’ll realize a fwb is getting to close, and sometimes that ends up as something more but usually her attachment issues kicks in & she leaves. :/

jamie: uh i guess someone who’s physically fit? or at least can keep up with him. as in, the other person doesn’t need abs but can learn to throw a football or walk a couple miles with ease. it’s more due to this being the types of people he hangs around with due to his job. he’s also drawn to sophistication, if that makes sense. like, his college ex was a ballet dancer. but it’s also like, someone he feels some sort of awe too, which could be being sophisticated in lets say physics or have a smile he feels is worth a million bucks.

maddie: usually she ends up with another fellow musician or artist because it’s the folks she hangs around with & finds comfort in having that same interest. and she CAN loose interest pretty quickly in terms of dating, but can remain as friends.

Q : QUESTION. would your muse ask the big question or expect their partner to?

raleigh: he’ll ask first, but would be fine if the other partner asks. especially if they feel impatient with him trying to gain courage to ask. tho like someone else i could see him asking when drunk and not remembering in the morning & be like ‘... oops.’

liz: next.

jamie: he’ll ask. all the way. he’ll feel the most weird if someone asked him.

maddie: the partner to ask.

U : UNREQUITED. has your muse had their heart broken?

raleigh: yep. half the time he breaks it himself because he puts high expectations on either himself or how things with someone will go.

liz: no. because she doesn’t have one. actually her parents have broken her heart as in her struggles with any sort of attachment, romantic platonic or whatever, due to her mother leaving and then her father’s later dependence on liz / his constant reminders of never get close to people have really damaged her but we won’t go there.

jamie: yes. mainly with irene leaving him, though that was all his fault. there’s also the married woman and how she manipulated jamie’s heart where he has a hard time trusting others but we won’t go there.

maddie: yeah. though she’s fickle in relationships, but it hurts anytime a guy breaks up with her or she has to break up. and it’s happen enough where she became reserved about letting others know about dates because telling others ‘yeah we broke up’ hurts her a lot. :/

why hello again my sweet morgy~!! 💞🌠🍭 what a lovely evening to wind down with some writing and a glass of wine! hopefully you are doing alright!! well, of course school is going to make our days a little worse for now, but fingers crossed that i can offer a little brightness to you 😊💞 the second day of virtual school was extremely boring, i hate having to sit at a computer for hours,, so i ended up daydreaming and playing with fidget toys and eating lollipops hehe (1/8)

"yet again, you prove to be quite the charmer my dear morgane, out here once again with all of your smooth-talking! i swear, you will be the death of me one day, killing me with kindness,, i can only wish to be such a sweet person like you!! until them, i just have to keep pulling my dumb little one liners in hope of possibly flustering you back 😘 (2/8)

and today i made the unfortunate discovery that i have my ex and lots of mean people in my classes,, and so little of my friends! this is gonna be such a hard year i suppose :( sadly all i can do is hope that this year will be better than the last,, after all, as long as i can ignore/avoid them all staring at me and making comments, i'll be okay ❤ (3/8)

i had a hard time focusing in lots of the class video calls due to anxiety, so i doodled some portraits of my teachers!! i needed the practice anyway,, i haven't drawn in a while! i sent them teach the finished sketches and they both gushed with compliments!! it really cheered me up, i'm glad i was able to make people happy with my little doodles! 💖 (4/8)

speaking of drawings, i woke up to more artwork made of me! it's so so flattering, truly!! it shocks me how some of these artists do such amazing drawings for free, they're all so talented!!! ooh, and this reminded me, i should probably tell you all that all of the art, picrews, etc that's made for me and morg is saved in a special little photo album on my phone,, i call it "things people have made for me 💕" (5/8)

i like to go through them on bad days to lift my mood, so when i always say that your efforts mean a lot to me, i'm not lying 💓 but don't fret darling, even though we do deal with a lot of trouble in our daily lives, there'll be a time in the future when we'll get away from our bothersome struggles, no? and i do look forward to that incredibly so,, (6/8)

But like i felt that on a spiritual level online claases make me absolutely bored and i almost fell asleep so many times in the past also bc my sleep schedule is fucked so unlike the times i'd get up and freshen up a little now it was like me fighting off with my own body 10 min before online class starts asmr dhshdhdhd (i also basically end up playing video games or watching anime when shit really gets boring lmao)

Now i could only ever dream of having such a positive attitude as urself bc my dumbass gets thru life by ignoring and pushing down everything which is hella unhealthy but do we care n o t a t a l l ksshhx if anything im glad u keep maintaining a positive aura urself and i have to agree we have so many plans its unreal.....it just succs that life b kinda wack🤡🔪

hi! i have a problem with drawing. right now i have artblock and yesterday i tried to draw something like 3 times, but i can't do anything. i try to somehow calm myself so that i don't get hysterical. and, of course, i tried to find something about it in internet, but i found nothing. why people don't talk about art struggles, mental struggles and emotional burnout? what to do if you can’t draw because you’ll get hysterical or anxious at the end of the process?

Hmm… I don’t really know your situation, I don’t know if it’s because you draw too much (for school/job), feel some social media pressure, or if it’s just this “I can’t draw for shit” stage that every artists seems to have from time to time.

The anxiety when you don’t produce art might be overwhelming. You draw and nothing comes out right. People post beutiful art every day and are successful with their zines, comics, books. They get featured, they’re hired, they are a part of big projects! And you can’t draw the pose right, it’s stiff and you know the lineart will look even worse. People won’t like it, you’re such a disappointment. It makes you want to scream. It’s a horrible feeling. I know that feeling. But… to quote the classic: “Let it go!” \(u-u)/

Take a deep breath. (´ο`)=3

My advice (I’m not sure if useful) would be to stop drawing for a week or so. Do something else, watch some new series, go for a walk, read books you haven’t read yet, try some games, definitely try something new. If you were in a particular fandom and created for it or drew inspiration from it - stop. You’ll feel itchy and will try to draw but don’t. And don’t feel guilty about it! You need to recharge, so instead of producing stuff try to comsume something new. Enjoy it.

Then try to draw but don’t expect anything. Find a few photos, very simple ones, of the sky, field, something not too complicated and study colours, try to draw with big shapes, blocks of colour, don’t expect it to look good, it’s just a study. It’s about reigniting the curiosity and pleasure of creating. When you try to draw something more complicated treat it as a study, a sketch, a stage. Draw something you’ve never drawn before, design a chair. Focus on the chair and not on the feeling you should be drawing something else and it’s just a waste of time, it isn’t. Draw a few thumbnails, you don’t like it, start a new one until your hand gets loose and you start to get some new ideas. If it’s getting too frustrating go for a walk, or dance to your favourite song.

(Also, go to people who inspire you, not those who make you feel shitty about your art. I’m not talking about negativity or toxic people. Some artists are the best human beings and they are very good at what they do but sometimes they make you feel not good enough. It’s not true, and it’s not their fault, but it happens. So sometimes it’s good to find someone who doesn’t overwhelm you with their detailed artworks, huge followers count, achievements etc.)

Allow yourself to make bad art. You won’t escape from it. All the art you see on the internet was chosen by artists for you to see. And there are tons of shitty drawings on their computers and in sketchbooks they chose not to show. Sometimes you open your canvas and this is your end result for the day:

And there’s one thing I suppose is very important if you want to fight art axiety. Don’t think about the drawings you made before, they’re done. Don’t think about the drawings you will do, you should do, or you want to do. Open the canvas, draw not thinking about the result, don’t expect it to be good or bad. To quote another classic: “Be in the moment.” Don’t be scared to ruin your drawing with the wrong line, try a different option and allow yourself to be surprised with the result. The result is bad, well, tough. What does it change, you won’t post it online? Who said you have to? Draw for yourself, not for other people, not for followers (don’t share your art with a big audience for some time, even if it’s good), not even your inner critic. Discover rather than force the outcome.When you draw a line don’t think about the final result, think about what that one line does for the drawing in that very moment.

And if you find yourself panicking about your art my ask box is always open, we can chat about art and exchange doubts. It’s all about not overthinking stuff because it doesn’t help.Wow, it’s a bit lengthy… xD Hope you find something that’s usefull. It’s based on my experience. I’m not saying that I got over it, I still stress over art and everything but I try to get better at calming my mind, and those things help me.

How did you discover your bias?

I kept seeing him on a friend’s Instagram, and I kept asking a group chat I’m in about who the “cute one with the braces” is.

What’s the first word that comes to mind when you think of your bias?

Smile.

What does your bias make you feel?

I feel kinda serene. He’s always so joyful and fun and he gives me a sense of hope almost. I’m smitten. When I see him, I have the urge to smile and cry.

When is the last time they made you cry?

I mean,,,, I tear up every time I see him. I think it was a couple days ago though.

When is the last time they made you smile?

Just earlier today.

What’s one of your favorite moments of theirs?

I don’t really have a specific one. Seeing him performing on stage or messing around at fansigns are aways precious to me. I love him singing Tomorrow, Today.

What do you wish for your bias?

I wish him to live the life he wants and for him to stay healthy and happy. I want him to find someone who will love every aspect of him and love him with all they are, and for him to do the same in return. I wish for his past problems to become present fixes and develop to future salvation.

What Reminds You Of Your Bias?

Sight? The colors powder blue and a light pink (like the color of my pointe shoes). The sky during sunset when you see the blue sky with pink clouds floating by. Trees moving in the wind. Happy friends hanging out, excited about something like a concert or acing their exams.

Sound? Wind chimes clinking in the breeze. Indie love songs that you love the aesthetic of. Rain drizzling outside.

Touch? Soft pajamas and blankets. A much needed hug from a friend or family member. Feather touches and figure eights being drawn into skin. Cold wind blowing on your face. A warm cup of tea in your hands.

Smell? Freshly baked pastries. The food you’ve been craving being served. Lavender when you need to sleep. The candle you recently bought being lit.

Taste? That first bite of long waited for food on your tongue. A fresh baked warm biscuit. A home-cooked meal made with you in mind.

Locations? My bed (I have a photo of him on the ceiling (don’t ask, I don’t know either)). Downtown during the farmer’s market or art festival. Thrift stores. Cafes or restaurants, when I’m sat with an empty space in front of me.

Feelings? Relief, excitement, serenity, joy, melancholic.

Situations? When I’m being lulled to sleep with my music faintly playing in the background and the smell of my lavender is nearby. Being cuddled up to someone. Watching movies on my laptop alone. Dancing and singing in the kitchen whilst cooking when nobody else is home. Painting the perfect flower on an artwork you’ve slaved over. Finding the exact word you were looking for.

Revival...?

I know it’s been over a year since I last updated this blog, and I apologize for that. My priorities had to shift some, and the momentum I had with this blog initially died down significantly. However, I want to approach the idea of reviving this blog slowly but surely, with a few changes to make things a little less stressful on my end, the main one consisting of the use of stock images for the registry.

I do not want to use stock images anymore. Mostly because one of my biggest fears has been using stock images incorrectly, despite giving credit and linking back to the original creators. I don’t have the time to always keep up with changes in the creator’s policies, so I would like to first get away from using them initially when a horse or breed is registered, and instead use my own “stock” drawing if artwork for the horse or breed is not submitted along with it (for example: if someone submits a new draft breed, I would use my stock “draft” banner instead of having to dig around for and edit a fitting picture to represent the breed).

This is just a minor change on my end, but it also opens up the possibility of having another way for people to contribute to the registry through art. An example: if there’s a breed you really think you could draw well or like enough to want to try your hand at it, you could draw an image that you think captures the look of the breed as it’s described and submit it. If the breed was created by another person I could send them a link to the image to have them look over it. If they approve, then your image could be used for the banner instead! If there are multiple submissions for the same breed and all are approved, the banner could even be a collage of all the drawings together, with everyone getting proper credit.

So in the coming days I will be working on making the major change as stated above, and I will also be working on “stock” icons for registered horses that don’t have their own art submitted with them (if your horse is currently using a stock photo and you would rather not have the stock drawn icon once they’re being used, let me know and we can work something out). NOTE: If your registered horse is one of the base game breeds or can appear accurately in-game (such as a palomino Nordic Draft), you’re welcome to submit a screenshot instead of a drawing. Non-game breeds are not recommended for this unless the model is accurate to the breed’s description.

In the meantime: I want your opinion on the art-submission thing. Do you like the idea? Are you neutral? Or do you think the submitter should be allowed to provide artwork for their breed? Your responses will determine whether or not the feature is available once everything else is in place.

A Royal Commission (4)

@fleetstreetfatality WHO YOU SHOULD ALL FOLLOW BECAUSE SHE”S PERFECT OKAY The cafe is….quaint is probably the word. It surprises him because the place looks like a blue collar sort of joint and yet, Noctis is leaning against the outside like he fits right in.

Prompto glances around, because he’s the Prince.No one is giving Noctis a second look. A couple people’s gazes linger on him though and he shifts uncomfortably, wondering why as he closes the distance to Noctis.

“Hey! Thanks for meeting me here, I hate bringing the car, everyone stares at it.”Prompto just blinks at him and then laughs, a tilt of his head and brightening of his eyes. Noctis grins at the sound and gestures to the building.

“Mama Claire has the best fries, outside of Kenny’s. They’re always so busy though.” He makes a disgruntled noise and pushes the door open, leaving Prompto to follow him in.

The inside is full of older booths and small tables cluttered with chairs, a bright blue and pink color scheme that reminds him of every late night film he’s ever seen, and a counter where a woman in a blue uniform stands, smiling a little.

“Hey boys. Just the two of ya?”Noctis nods and they are lead to a booth off to the side, the wall beside Prompto is clustered with photos of unfamiliar faces on fishing ventures. He takes a moment to appreciate some of the better shots but Noctis’ laugh draws him back.

“Marice always seats me here, she likes to show off the fish her husband catches.”Prompto raises an eyebrow at Noct, even as he reaches to look over the menu sitting in front of him.

“Fishing is great dude.” Noctis sounds like he’s restraining himself from something and Prompto can hear the excitment in his tone. He glances up and grins, “I’ve never been, but I bet it’s awesome. You should tell me about it Prince Charmless.”

Noctis laughs in response and it makes Prompto’s toes curl a little as he shifts again, looking back down at the menu as Noctis starts to tell him about fishing adventures.

He finds himself getting drawn in quickly, laughing as Noctis describes the size of a fish Gladiolus and him caught once, his eyebrows furrowing and annoyance touching his features when he mentions all the shit Gladio gave him for how much he struggled.

“It’s not my fault I’m not half-behemoth! He’s the one who nearly let it go though, trying to grab it like an idiot.”

Prompto waggles his eyebrows, “Guess he’s not used to handling big items huh?”

Noctis’ eyes light up and they both end up laughing far too loudly as the waitress comes back for their orders. It’s warm and the food smells amazing around them and Prompto finds himself leaning forward in his seat, animatedly explaining his dream shot of a catoblepas.

“Okay I know it’s probably the dumbest thing to try but can you imagine how cool it would be the get a shot that close? All the ladies would loooove it.”

Something flashes in Noctis’ eyes but it’s already gone when he just sighs, “Just don’t get yourself killed before you finish my tattoo blondie.”

Prompto rolls his eyes, “As if, I never leave work undone...well...okay, artwork at any rate...how’s it feeling by the way?”

Noctis rolls his shoulders, as though testing, “It’s alright, still a little sore and I’ve been careful not to lay on it or anything. Ignis’ been helping me put the stuff you gave me on it and keep it clean and all. It feels a little dry though so..”

He shrugs.Prompto nods and is about to respond when his food arrives. There’s a plate of fries between them and an open face burger covered in green chili for Noctis, a plate of bisquits and gravy for Prompto. He can already smell it all and nearly forgets what he was going to say.

“Im glad it’s doin’ alright..this looks so good man, I’m going to have to put in an extra hour tomorrow but, it’s so worth it…” He cuts a bite and then pauses, “If you want, I’ve got some of the stuff with me, I can put it on your ink when we’re done eating?”

Noctis, mouthful of fries nods quickly and gives him a thumbs up. Silence falls between them as they focus on their food, Prompto sighs happily at the taste of good gravy and snags a fry to dip into it, his laugh turned into a giggle at Noctis’ glare.

“This is unfairly good, how are you so thin?”

Noctis just shrugs at that, “Iggy’s pretty big on me not eating out too much, so probably that. Well, and Gladio thinks an unbruised skin means I’m not working hard enough so…”

Prompto nods, “Yeah he seemed pretty intense, those feathers...some of them could not have felt nice. I think I learned a bunch of new swear words from him during one of our last sessions...It’s still pretty cool though.”

Noctis raises an eyebrow, “Yeah? He say it hurt?”

Prompto laughs, his grin tilting a little more than usual, “I will happily tell you in high detail about how hard he was squeezing the chair and “mother of a shiva fucking cuntlicker that fuckin’ hurts” especially when I did the names.”

Noctis laughs, falling back in his seat, “He told me that it was a piece of cake...liar. What names?”

Prompto pauses, fork stuck in what’s left of his food, “Uh, I figured you’d noticed them..he’s got a few names in some of the feathers on his chest? Said they were people he wanted to keep close to him.”

Noctis’ smile is softer but still edged with mischief, “Oh yeah? Big guy’s gettin’ soft on me…”

Prompto sticks his tongue out a little, “Better not harass him too much or he’ll come in to have yours covered.”

The look on Noctis’ face when he realizes what Prompto’s telling him send the blonde into another laughing fit. He reaches out and pats Noctis’ hand, chuckling.

“Y-yeah, he’s got your name on there dude...don’t worry it’s not weird.”

Noctis gives him a long look at then casual asks, “Not weird like you’re wall of pictures of me?”

Prompto chokes on air and glares at Noctis, “It’s not a wall of just you Noct! The citadel is pretty and you’re pretty and I wasn’t trying to take so many but you just kept being there at the right time and I dunno…”

Noctis’ cheeks are a little pink but he asks anyways, “I’m pretty huh?”

“Yes! My camera thinks so too, it always registers your face and when I was trying to draw you earlier I figured out why, you have perfect porportions and it’s not fa-” He cuts off at the grin spreading over Noctis’ cheeks, “Eos, I just admitted all of that huh?”

Noctis nods, still grinning, “It’s cool man, I know you’re about the ladies.”

Prompto flushes and waves a hand, “Yeah...sorta.”

Noctis gives him a look, his eyes pinching a bit and frowning in concentration, “Okay..sorta?”

“Look...does it matter?”

“Yeah...and no. You can do you, but I’d like to know if I have a shot.”

Prompto’s pretty sure he’s dead, that he’s somewhere on his way to heaven, because there’s no way the Prince just admitted to wanting a shot with him, let alone to liking guys.

“O-I..I’m sorry? With me?”

Noctis smiles at him and shrugs, “If it’s weird, I get it but...I dunno, you’re pretty cute and you let me rant about fishing, so, yeah, why not?”

Prompto doesn’t know if it’s his overzealous heart or his troublesome mouth that gets him into it, but he nods jerkily, “Yeah...yeah I think you have a shot, highness.”
