Chapter 2

It seemed that it was torn right down the middle, with some people loving this idea, but most groaning in protest.

Your heart was racing as she scanned the room, when finally her finger landed on you. Your face turned bright red and you could feel Sweet pea tighten in his seat. But her finger kept moving after she called your name. Your eyes narrowed. What is her game, you thought to yourself.

She settled a few seats down, on Reggie. Of course she did.

“Ok you two, go go go.”Cheryl said taking both your hands and shoving you in a closet. You stood there in near darkness in silence.

“Well you don’t have to be so stiff. What’s your name?” He asked while placing a hand on your hip.

“Molly. Remove your hand. “ you said taking a step back.

“Oh come on, sweetness,” he said coming closer again.

“If you don’t back the fuck away from me,” you started but he cut you.

“What? You’re going to have your serpent boyfriend kick my ass? Newsflash we already fought. Ask him how that went.” He lunged forward for a kiss and as his lips pressed hard against yours, your knee presses hard against his groin. Making him double over in pain.

“I don’t need anyone to fight my battles for me. I can handle myself, dick!” Throwing open the door, everyone’s eyes fell on you and Reggie’s slumped body.

You took off running for outside where it felt like you could finally breathe. You leaned against sweet peas bike and took a sharp inhale in and out, when you heard footsteps approaching behind you. You turned to see Fang’s tilted head looking at you. Standing up straight as he approached.

“Hey killer, you alright?” He asked placing a hand on your back.

“Yeah,” you couldn’t help but feel the disappointment waft through you.

“What’s wrong,” he nudged.

“It’s nothing,” you said shrugging him off.

“Alright…….But you’re missing your chance!” He dragged it out as he turned slowly.

“I like sweet pea!” You shouted.

He put his hand on his cheek dramatically. “Nooooo.”

You shove him as he laughed.

“Do you want me to take you home?” He asks putting his arm around you.

“Yeah don’t think I really want to go back in there.” You say imagining Reggie still on his knees in pain.

He nods and hands you the helmet again.

You tossed and turned since you got home and laid down. Why could it not have been sweet pea she called on. What was the whole point of putting you with Reggie? It really didn’t matter you’re just thankful Fangs took you home. Your mom is working late shift at the hospital again so the house is extremely quiet. So quiet that when your phone buzzed you nearly jumped out of your skin. You turn to grab it off the night stand and see his name light up the screen.

SP: hey I’m outside

M: wait what?

SP: open the door!

You put your slippers on and slipped through the house. You can make out Sweet Peas silhouette through the glass door. He’s shifting side to side as you open the door only to see him standing there with a huge black eye.

“Sweet Pea What the hell happened?!” You shrieked reaching up to touch his face. He winced as you pressed a gentle hand to the bruise. Grabbing his hand and leading him inside, you set home down on the couch before grabbing a pack of frozen peas for his face.“What happened?!” You repeated.

He shrugged.

“No, what the hell happened?”you asked a third time.

“I beat up Reggie,” he said hanging his head.

“Why the hell would you do that,” folding your arms across you chest and eyeing him. He shrugged again.Approaching slowly, you lifted his head with your index finger and kissed his forehead.“Well thank you. But again you didn’t have to do that. I can manage.” You say while placing the bag on his face.He winced but didn’t make a sound.“Just please tell me he looks worse than you do?”

He raises his eyes to yours and flashes a devilish grin and then nods.

“Good,” You say as he yawns. “Do you want to stay here tonight? You have to be gone before my mom gets home but I can make you a palette on the floor?”

“Yeah that would be awesome.” He nods while rubbing his eyes.

You get up and he follows as you walk down the hall, stopping at the linen closet.

“Soooooo we have two extra blankets….” you say to him.

“It’s ok I can just go home.” He says.

“Or you can just sleep in the bed, with me?” You offer.

“Uhhhm, oh-okay, Yeah, that’s fine, we’re good, yeah.” He stammered.

“Oh come on like you’ve never slept in the same bed with fangs or Toni?” You tease while leading him into your bedroom.

“Yeah but-“ he cuts himself off.

Kicking off your slippers you slid to the inside of the bed. You eyed him as he was unmoved from the doorway. Sighing and rolling your eyes, you tap the bed. He smiled and removed his jacket and boots.

“Are you sure because I can just sleep on the floor?” he said as he stood at the edge of the bed.

“Get in the damn bed, Sweet Pea.” you said before turning towards the wall. The mattress shifted with his weight, and you couldnt help but to admit, it felt nice to have him there with you.

“Hey, Pea,” you said in the darkness.

“Hmm,” he grumbled groggily.

“Do you really think I would make a good serpent?”

“The best serpent.” he said without hesitation.

You laid back and sighed, barely holding back a wild grin. “Alright, Im in.”

Hanamaki cackled, opening up his messages that were rapidly filling up with Oikawa’s frantic text messages. “This is so funny. How long do you think it’ll take before he facetimes one of us?”

Matsukawa popped a fry into his mouth, grinning. “I say… give it like… less than two seconds?”

Right on time Matsukawa’s phone went off with the Pokemon theme song blaring loud and proud in Mcdonald’s. A few customers turned around but Matsukawa wasn’t bothered. Hanamaki snickered as Matsukawa took an extra three seconds to answer his phone.

“Yeah?” Nonchalance dripped from his tone as he continued shoving fries into his mouth. “Sup?”

“Sup? Sup?! Are you serious?”

Oikawa sounds like he’s about to blow a fuse, Hanamaki mouthed.

Mattsun smirked, “Serious about what? The economy? Yeah it’s in a down spiral as we speak. How could I not be—”

“ —STOP YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN! How dare you do me so dirty like this? Imagine me, living my best life, going onto Instagram to bless my followers with an update and I see I’ve been followed by your couple insta account with Makki-chan?”

“Oh, that thing?” Hanamaki’s dying with silent laughter and Matsukawa’s voice was still dipped with uncaring tunes. Getting a rise out of Oikawa was always and would always be the highlight of his day. “Yeah. It’s a thing. I see you didn’t follow back though...hm.”

“It’s a pretty clever handle, yeah?” Hanamaki chimed in. “@Matsuhana, because it’s a play on both our names. Mattsun’s idea, spearheaded by me.”

“That’s not the point!” Oikawa rebutted as Iwaizumi mentioned in the background, yeah that is pretty clever heh. “I refuse to follow you back after—ACK!” A volleyball came out of nowhere, connecting to the back of Oikawa’s head. Most definitely thrown by Iwaizumi. Mattsun absolutely lost it afterwards. He cackled, tears at his eyes as he pushed the phone over to Hanamaki because he really couldn’t .

“Ayo, bossman,” Hanamaki’s grin was catlike as he took the phone, holding it up against his soda cup. “What’s good? Oikawa dead?”

“We can only hope,” Iwaizumi huffed. Hanamaki heard Oikawa go “RUDE!” in the background and he chuckled. “So this account is a joke right?”

Hanamaki and Mattsun exchanged glances, “Define ‘joke’.” Hanamaki asked.

Iwaizumi narrowed his eyes, “If this is another one of your guys’s shenanigans have fun. Be safe. Don’t do anything dumb.”

“Yes dad!” the two said at the same time. Iwaizumi snorted and Oikawa pushed him aside to get into the screen.

“Tell me the truth! Are you guys dating? Are you guys fucking around?! What is the truth—”

“—Enough, Trashykawa. We’re hanging up. Bye guys,” Iwaizumi gave them a nod before signing off. Hanamaki snickered, glancing up to see Matsukawa smirking down at him, affecting evident in his eyes. Weird. He still couldn’t get used to it—the finally noticing part.

“You were right,” Hanamaki stuck out his hand and Matsukawa reached out to lace their fingers. “This was so much better than us sending an accidental sext meant for the other person plan.”

“Thanks,” Matsukawa grinned, picking up his phone to look at the photo he posted on their couples instagram. A totally not fake but they were going to act like it was fake for the lolz and the rising blood pressure of Oikawa Tooru instagram account they made on the spur of the moment. It’s main purpose for being created was so they could recreate and mock super popular couple poses.

They started dating yesterday after Hanamaki, very casually but also rather adorably, confessed to being in love with Matsukawa for years. Matsukawa, being sidelines and hit with a truck by the confession, wasted on time in pulling in Hanamaki for a much needed kiss. Because when you’re caught in your feels it’s only natural to act upon them. They didn’t know how to bring it up to Iwaizumi and Oikawa. They were second years in college now and it had been a while since all four of them got together. Sure, they texted all the time but they both felt a little...off just dropping the oh hey we finally got our heads out of our asses and are dating. What’s good?

So Matsukawa decided that the best way was the subtle way. Make an instagram account dedicated to their couple shenanigans. Follow Oikawa. Say nothing and wait for Oikawa to rage text them in confusion. Again, they could have been upfront but when they weighed the options, this route had the utmost return favor of hilariousity.

The first post was rather iconic, if the duo had to say so themselves. They were holding hands and the picture was taken so you could only see Hanamaki’s hand holding Matsukawa’s as he was pulled down the street. Super aesthetic. Very hipster. Matsukawa even put a cheesy quote for the captain for effect: let your heart lead the way … love you. It already had 80 likes even though it was posted a couple of hours ago. Which honestly made it ten times funnier because the comments section was filled with people asking more or less, the same questions Oikawa had. Minus all the rage.

“What picture do you wanna post next, babe?” Matsukawa gave his lover’s hand a squeeze. Even though they’ve only been dating for a day calling him babe sounded so right to his ears.

Hanamaki hummed, and then raised his eyebrows as the idea hit him. “Nudes?” another pause, his lips curling into a teasing grin. “ Tasteful nudes? So we’re safe for work.”

“Oh. Yes. Iconic. You’re a genius!” he leaned forward and Hanamaki leaned in halfway for a kiss. Not their first kiss, but their official first kiss as a couple. They pulled back, matching goofy grins on their face. Matsukawa tilted his head for another kiss when his phone buzzed.

ONE NEW MESSAGE!

From: iwazooms Sent at 4:30pm Congrats. Oikawa will figure it out by tomorrow. Until then I’ll play dumb :).

“I love that man,” Mattsun muttered, shaking his head as he shut his phone.

Hanamaki frowned, “Cheating on me already, babe? I thought you’d wait at least until you met that cute little air flight attendant on our second trip to Europe…”

“That’s still in the plans,” Mattsun grinned and Makki snorted.

“Asswipe.”

“Love you.”

“Love ya too. Asswipe.”

major: medical laboratory science

minor: mathematics

sports: tennis team

clubs: was a part of math club and won a regional competition when he was only a freshman,,,,the math dept begged him to switch majors but he said he wouldn’t be able to handle a degree that made him a teacher,,,,,because schools can be,,,,,,,a mess

taeyong is like the model student and everyone in his major thinks he’s a genius,,,,,,,,,,,,but in reality he just stays up three nights in a row neurotically drinking coffee and listening to edm remixes of like jazz songs,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,like that is the Truth of his college life

was originally going to go into pre-med,,,,but when an emt came to visit and was like “sometimes blood just gets everywhere! and i mean EVERYWHERE” taeyong was like,,,,,,,,,,well he first got out his hand sanitizer and decided then and there that working with machines and in a lab was his aesthetic instead

having random people cough on you in the ER is not

like blood is cool in the study of hematology and taeyong will get enthusiastic over working with new specimens in his microbiology lab

but ,,,,,,, he’s a theory person,,,,,,he wants to help doctors figure out why someone is sick and then the doctors can treat them

taeyong is a-ok being behind the studying and lab work,,,,not on the front lines

which is baffling to most people because taeyong puts effort into going unnoticed but,,,,it’s Impossible to not notice him

even in his lab coat, thick framed glasses, and the usual perfectly bland outfit of black jeans and a button down,,,,,,someone might be like haha what nerd

but,,,,,,,one look at his face and it’s like WOAH WHAT

and countless times on his way to his internship or when he’s out getting lunch wtih jaehyun and ten people will be like excuse me,,,are you a model? a site model? a idol? are u on some tv show?

and taeyong seriously doesn’t get why he gets asked this so many times,,,,every time humbly apologizing that he’s not the person they’re looking for and getting a little anxious when people are obviously taking photos of him

like the amount of times jaehyun has literally had to get up and sit in front of taeyong so people wouldn’t be noisy is insane

and the amount of times ten has started an argument on taeyong’s behave is even more because ten is always like taEYONG YOU HANDSOME FRIEND OF MINE I GeT THAT u R BEAUTiFUL but WhY DO peOPLE JusT DISREGARD UR prIVAC-

and taeyong always has to calm ten down but all of their friends agree that it’s super weird and gets out of hand

but taeyong is too nice to shut it down himself,,,,,so most of the time he slips on those glasses and a hat when he goes out and avoids looking people in the eyes

johnny once came over to his dorm and was like “bro i got you this wig. wear it if things get too creepy.” unfortunately the wig was the bright color red and mark was like hey johnny i know ur a senior and all but,,,,,,is ur head in the game,,,bro,,,please,,,

is the designated mom of his dorm’s floor because he has evERYTHING on hand from extra chargers, to a first aid kit, to pain killers

and every time someone comes into his room (taeyong begged for a single bed,,,,roommates can get a Bit) they’re always amazed at how a boy in college keeps his room sparkling clean

and i literally mean sparkling his bed sheets are white, his desk is completely free of everything except his laptop and a cup to hold pens in,,,,,his closet is organized by color: white, black, grey, and brown

and he has a little whiteboard where he writes due dates and everyone is like ur seriously a star student why cant i be clean and organized like u

except they don’t understand,,,anytime before finals the clean room turns into disarray,,,,,like taeyong literally pulls all his covers off the bed and takes power naps at his desk only to wake up with post-it notes stuck to his face

and when finals are over he goes on a cleaning spree in which he offers to do the laundry for everyone on his floor because it calms his nerves

he’s a sweet, polite, hard-working kid tbh with the face of an actual god which makes some people think he’s stuck up when he’s the absolute least from it

like taeyong is that kid that tutors his seniors for FREE in subjects they should be tutoring him in like what an angel?????/

anyway you’re taking organic chemistry with him this semester but the only problem is ,,,,,,you transferred in the middle of the year and therefore are completely falling behind

to the point where you don’t even care about saving your grade because no one wants to help and the teacher is super like “well,,,,,,,,,,do it urself im not doing it for u” kinda stick up their butt situation

so u start skipping class

because everything else ur doing fine in,,,,u have people sharing notes and teachers who get ur situation but organic chem????? the Devil

until one day as ur standing in line at the school cafe and u feel a tap on ur shoulder

and u turn around to see this guy,,,,,who u know but ur not sure from where until he’s like “taeyong,,,,im in your organic chem class.” and you roll your eyes at the name of that class but then ur like sORRy,,,,,it’s just that class is so,,,,,

and he’s like “ive noticed you’ve stopped coming,,,,,is the material too hard?”

and you kind of are taken aback because this chem class isn’t ,,,,,,small it’s a lecture hall full of like 150 people and he noticed,,,,,,you?

but you shrug not wanting to come off like ,,,,, obvious and ur like “i transferred and a lot of things didn’t make sense,,,,so i gave up? ill just retake the class next semester.”

but taeyong frowns and for a moment you think to yourself: how does someone still look so attractive frowning wth

but ur like “it’s whatever, it can’t be helped.” but taeyong is like ,,,,,,,if,,,,if you still want help,,,,,,i can help you

and for a moment you’re gonna laugh because there’s like four weeks left of classes,,,,,,the only way to save your grade is to ace the big course final

but taeyong seems to fidget a bit when u don’t answer and he goes “b-but if it’s weird,,,,if i seem we,,weird,,,,,,im sor-”

and you’re like no no it’s not you,,,it’s just,,,how can u teach me so much in so little time ?? it’d be a lot of work on ur part and we don’t even know each other?

but taeyong seems unfazed by the amount of work,,,,tbh he smiles a little when u mention how it’ll take hard work and u dont know because ur new to the school but it’s because every1 always tells taeyong he does too much and works too hard,,,,,but to him it’s all fun like he has fun in his major

and he shakes his head and looks at you and again u catch urself sinking a little into his dark,,,pretty eyes and he’s like “im in ,,, if you’re in.”

and the line has moved up and the bored looking girl behind the register asks what you’d like to order and ur like ,,,,, one sec- and she’s like i don’t have time tell me so you say ur order,,,turn back to taeyong and ur like “ok,,,,let’s try.” and he’s like “meet me in the library at 8.”

and you watch him give a little bow and turn around and for a moment u cant be really sure that just happened,,,,,,,most people in college dont waltz up to others to offer to tutor them,,,,,

but as u pay the girl for ur coffee she goes “don’t try asking taeyong out. he never dates.” and ur like ????? what a guy like him definitely has a significant other????? right?????

so 8pm comes around and u bring a fresh notebook and the textbook u bought for the class and find that u dont even have to look for a seat because u can see taeyong already at one of the tables

and he’s got his lab coat over his chair,,,,his laptop open with some charts up and a heavy looking medical dictionary ,,,, he looks like a straight up doctor tbh

and u sit down,,,startling taeyong who’s glasses slip down his nose just a bit until he’s chuckling and closing his laptop

and u think how good of a tutor can he be to help someone as hopelessly lost as u,,,,,,,,,,,,but the minute taeyong begins to explain it’s like,,,,it’s like everything makes /sense/

nothing is complicated or abstract,,,,and u can’t help but be entranced by his smooth, slightly deep voice and the way he points out keywords and writes down formulas in near perfect handwriting

like everything about him is so Professional he’s like,,,he’s like a professor,,,,

and it’s kind of super cute how when u ask him to repeat something he doesn’t get ticked off,,,no he gets excited because it’s obvious,,,,this is something taeyong loves

and at the end of ur first study session u feel so much better about everything

to the point that u even show up to ur class the next day and taeyong doesn’t look up from his notes,,,,,so u cant say hi but,,,,,suddenly it’s not like the teacher is talking nonsense

and every other day taeyong comes to the library to teach u,,,although he moves the time up to 10pm and ur not sure,,,maybe classes or clubs

and by the sixth time as ur packing up to leave taeyong goes “i see ur coming to class, that makes me happy.” and u don’t know why but,,,,,,,

just saying that,,,,,,,,it,,,,,it makes ur heart skip a beat

but u remember the words of the girl from the cafe about taeyong never dating and u itch to ask him,,,,but u don’t want to make this relationship more awkward

which is why the only time u do ask is when u end up in another class of urs partnered up with yuta and taeil,,,,two boys who immediately go “you’re the one taeyong is tutoring right?” and you’re like,,,yes??? and yuta scratches his head and is like “for organic chem or for immunology? or wait,,,,he’s giving someone tennis lessons too right taeil??” and ur like wow,,,taeyong sure helps a lot of people

and taeil nudges yuta but nods and is like “taeyong is really too nice for his own good,,,,,,,,,,” and u nod and try to focus on the project,,,but taeil gives u this like ???? knowing smile

and ur like ,,,, w-whats up and taeil is like “u want to know if taeyong is seeing someone?” and u straighten up because ur like ,,,,, UM,,, no-

and yuta laughs into his palm and is like “it’s ok,,,i know taeyong as a fellow pretty boy everyone always asks us that” and taeil rolls his eyes but he’s like “he’s not, he hasn’t dated anyone in college.” and from the shock on ur face yuta can only nod his head and go “i know,,,it shocks all of us,,,,,,hot girls and hot guys and everyone else all the hot people on campus have made moves on him but he just,,,,,,”

and yuta throws up his hands in defeat and taeil shrugs and for a second u think,,,,,,,,well what kind of chance to i stand,,,,,,,but u shake it off and ur like “maybe he’s just waiting!! he’s really nice i hope he finds someone.”

and with that u leave after class,,,realizing that taeyong is helping u from the goodness of his heart,,,,,not because he might harbor something towards u,,,,and u need to accept that

but what u dont realize is that as u head toward ur dorm,,,,,taeyong is waiting in the library and when u don’t show up,,,,he goes into a panic

and the next day in organic chem he comes rushing up to

and for the first time his perfect face is scarred with worry and his hair is a mess and he looks like he hasn’t slept and he’s like,,,,,a,,,,are you ok?? and ur like yes wh- and he seems to calm down and even get embarrassed a bit as he steps back and is like “wi-will you come to the library tomorrow??” and ur like ofc omg

and as ur trying to concentrate,,,u look over to see taeyong dozing off,,,,something he never does,,,,and u wonder why he didn’t sleep

and when u go for tutoring taeyong seems a little more reserved,,,,like usually if u make a joke he’ll laugh or if ur fingers brush it’s nothing

but now it seems like he’s keeping his distance,,,,,a bit more than usual and u want to ask if something is wrong,,,,,

so when ur done with the problem set he has and he gets up almost as if he’s in a hurry,,,,ur reach out and ask him if he’s ok and taeyong,,,looking down at your hand on his wrist ,,,, mumbles that u didn’t show up to tutoring so he thought he’d messed up but u explain that it just slipped ur mind,,,,,,taeyong could never do something wrong

and taeyong,,,,looks up at you and smiles just a bit and he’s like “if i do do something wrong,,,please tell me and ill fix it.”

and,,,,,,,like,,,,,,,,the pureness of his voice,,,,the way he’d gotten so worried over you,,,,,it makes your heart burst because where else could someone find such a damn near perfect boy

and before you can think and stop yourself from speaking you ask; “the final is in a week,,,,,after,,,,,would you want to go out?”

taeyong seems to need a moment to register what u mean,,,,but when he does,,,,it’s like all the heat in his body has rushed up into his face and he stutters over an answer until he just goes “im sorry,,,,,,,” and that’s enough for you to get the hint

you apologize at least ten times and ur like thIS is awkward,,,ill go and make a dash for the door as quickly as possible

because everything is so damn EMBARRASSING and ur like WHAT WERE U THINKING @ yourself the whole time u go to your dorm

and for a good hour u just lay down with ur head in ur pillow like gkhdlfjssdf whY DID I OPEN MY MOUTH

but taeyong,,,,,who also gets to his dorm just sets down his laptop and tries to think himself,,,why,,,,,,,why did he say im sorry?? when he wanted to say yes,,,,,

and the week goes by and the final comes and goes and at the end u want to ball ur eyes out because well one that final was hARD AS HELL but thanks to taeyongs help u feel like u did decently,,,,,but also the whole time u couldn’t help but look over at taeyong and not once,,,,,,did u guys cross eyes

and ur convincing urself that he’s forgotten about it,,,,,about you and helping you,,,and every night u spent in the library getting closer and god dammit if u hadnt gotten all worked up over him saying he was worried thiS wouldnt have happened

until you walk right into someone and they’re like “woah! watch yourself” and you look up to see the familiar face of taeil and ur like oh right whoops we got an A on our project did u get the email? and taeil nods but he’s like “more importantly,,,,,,,,hows taeyong?”

and ur like ?????????/ idk im not his frie-

and taeil is like ur not??? taeyong literally tutored u right after his internship for four weeks straight sacrificing his time for u and ur not even friends? doubt it

and ur like wait what

and taeyong is like yEAH why do u think u had to meet so damn late the poor guy had a class load + an internship in a lab + tutoring and believe me as kind as he is,,,,,,he wouldn’t go to such lengths for a stranger

and he’s halfway up the steps when you get up into the bus with him and the driver is like ? and you lean up to kiss his cheek and you’re like

“yes,,,,,,,please take me on a date. it would make me really happy.”

and the bus driver is like hello are u also getting on and taeyong turns cherry red but he tells u he’ll call - but wait ur number - and ur like oh !! message taeil he has it we were partners and taeyong is like ok!!

and the driver is like AHEM but this nice old lady is like “don’t ruin their moment”

and basically,,,,you get off the bus and wave to taeyong in the window as it leaves and practically skip back to school because oh my god the undateable taeyong,,,,,,just asked you on a dATE

and the date,,,,,,is so simple and sweet

everyone thinks taeyong is some stuck up snob with high taste but nooooope in reality u two go to a cafe that specialize in board games and u guys play monoply on ur first damn date and then some connect four and when u beat him at jenga ur pretty sure he might cry

but ur like “taeyong,,,,,,top of ur major and yet,,,,,,,bad at jenga?” and he’s like !!!!!!!! im not rematch!!!!11

but u win again and poor taeyong has his head in his hands but he’s having fun and gladly does the penalty (which is buying u guys two more drinks)

and it’s like afterwords u learn that taeyong is not flashy,,,,,he takes so much happiness in just walking u to ur dorm afterwords and when u tease him about jenga he just bites his lip and mumbles that it just wasn’t his night tonight,,,,,,

and when you lean up to kiss him gently taeyong mumbles against your skin if it’s alright to take u out on a second date and u think how cute,,,,but completely agree

and two dates turn into more dates and before u know it u and taeyong are dating with matching couple rings to prove it

which yuta thinks is cheesy but taeil just tells him to shut it and be happy for taeyong

but on a real note taeyong takes dating as seriously as his studies,,,he puts his efforts into making you happy and learning more about you

and it’s so adorable when he’ll point something out and be like “it reminds me of you!” and,,,,it’s like,,,,,,,what an observant, caring boyfriend

you tell taeyong once you don’t like this specific kind of fruit so when u guys get a fruit salad he asks if u want him to pick out the ones u dont like and u just laugh and go i can just not eat them!!! and he gets red,,,,but like it’s the sentiment that counts

taeyong works most of his week and studies super hard so u don’t get to go out a lot and taeyong apologizes for that

but you just hold his face in your hands and tell him that no. his studies come first because it’s his future

and once taeyong mumbled that he hopes ur his future too and it made ur heart,,,,,,,,,it literally made ur heart burst and you were like taeyong don’t say things like that and he was like im sorry,,,but why not

and u were like because it makes me want to kiss u and u have calculus homework right

people that took pics of taeyong when u go out always just get super long glares from u and at one point u were like “that’s illegal i can sue on behave of my boyfriend”

and taeyong was like ,,,,angel it’s ok,,,,,,,but u were like anyone who wants to disrespect him come @ me i will prote-

u and ten get along really well just fyi

taeyong introduces u to mark and ur just like !!!!!! wow!!!!! so adorable and taeyong is like rIGHT he’s so cute he’s my son and mark is like ??? but both u and taeyong dote on him and sometimes he’s like guys,,,,please,,,,

but most of the time he likes it because u and taeyong will cook for him if he asks LOL

for someone who hides behind his glasses taeyong sends u selfies whenever he’s with mark because he’s like !!!!!! look how cute

but also sometimes he sends some of himself and he’s like ‘i look so bad ive been studying for 4 hours’ but in reality. he doesn’t look bad. he looks like a model. what the heck. what the actual heck

taeyong keeps his desk super clean but he’s recently let u put up some photos in frames,,,one of them is his sister ,,, another his parents,,, then one of him and his friends ,,,,,,,and then one of u guys,,,,shyly holding hands under fireworks and it’s cute

because before he used to keep everything completely in check but when u doodle a heart on his whiteboard he can’t erase it,,,,he just thinks of u and smiles

doesn’t share his hoodies but it’s ok because when u hug him his smell gets stuck in ur clothes and u love it

u taught taeyong how to use emojis the right way because when u sent him a bunch of hearts he was like ‘isn’t one enough’ and u were like taeyong no i love u much more than one heart emoji and he was like oh! i should sent more too because i love u so much and it was cORNY but so damn cute

his pda is kept to a minimum because taeyong sees intimacy as something very special and he always wants to make sure it’s shared between you and him

and he’ll like it when u take control because taeyong wants to do anything to please u and sometimes u have to remind him that it’s ok for him to indulge

and he’ll just shyly hide into ur neck but it’s ok because when u run ur hands down his spine u can hear a low sound from him and it’s,,,,,,hot

also loves being kissed on the back of his neck like the nape it always makes him really soft and if he’s overworking himself

ull like come up from behind while he’s hunched over a book and kiss his nape and he’ll completely kind of loosen up and let u drag him out for a snack so he doesn’t die in all his class notes

and taeyong tells u after sometime that dating,,,,,and being close to people always worried him because he didn’t know if he could make someone happy

but you tell him that he makes u the most happy,,,,even if he has quirks about him and gets excited over math,,,,,that’s so adorable to you

like you’re the one person that taeyong should never be scared of hurting,,,,,,because you know how much effort he puts into his work and u know he’d never do anything to harm u or his friends

and it’s cute,,,,,,u wait for him to get back to campus after his internship and taeyong is always like !!!!! it’s cold and dark dont

but ur always there and when he gets off the bus he makes u wait till it leaves but then u guys kiss and it’s cute and u laugh against each others lips

and although taeyong doesnt like to share his clothes he’ll pull his lab coat over the two of u and be like “kiss me again” and ur like ooo someone is actually more into pda than we thought?? and he’s like shy,,,but also u do kiss him and it’s soft

my conclusion is college!taeyong is soft ok everyone please be nice to him

how do u explain to people that youre stressed out not bc of the education system or bc your teachers are giving u too much work or even bc you “have a lot on ur plate” and youve “tired yourself out” but because ur a weak ass person who cant handle failure and u have a ridiculous amount of unrealistic pressure on urself to do well and to get into oxford and youve been working yourself so hard for the past few weeks that when someone tells you to “go out and have some fun” u genuinely have to stop and think bc ive lost all my passion for things i used to love bc i cant even see past this fog of stress and anxiety and pressure and so when i am failing which is in most of my subjects at the moment i take it so fuckin hard bc ive been working my ass of tirelessly and no good is coming of it and i still havent heard from oxford so i dont know whether im good enough and most of my brain is telling me im not but i dont think i can handle that and being such a failure just makes me want to work harder and harder but i cant because im so burnt out but at the same time i just cant afford to take time out during the week and ive noticed this cycle that i get into and i dont know how to break it bc on mondays i have a full day so im exhausted by the evening and then dont do any work when i get home after work at 6 and then bc i havent done any work monday night i feel guilty tuesday so i work super hard in all my frees and after work in the evening to try and make up for it which burns me out emotionally and mentally and then wednesday i have a super long day and then stay at school in the evening which forces me to work and exhausts me again and then thursday mornings are always tough bc im burnt out from the (always late) night before and come into school early to get more work done bc i get into the mindset that i absolutely have to be working 24/7 and then for the past few thursdays ive worked myself to the point of tears in front of my form tutor or teachers and so then they convince me to take some time off so i always go home and take an hour or so but then i have extra french lessons and guitar so i get so tired after that but ofc since ive taken like 2+ hours out of studying to do that i need to compensate thursday eve and “its fine its only friday tomorrow” so i stay up really late and get into school on friday and cry again and just how do u explain that to people who’ve always seen u as an overachieving girl who has everything together and always gets good grades

Give Me a Reason (3/9)

March 2013

Celestino insisted on carrying the majority of Yuuri and Phichit’s luggage up the stairs to their apartment. “You’ve earned it, boys,” he told them. “I’m so proud of you both.”

Yuuri frowned. He didn’t want to directly contradict his coach, and it was always awkward feeling bad about his own performance when Phichit hadn’t even made it past the short program, but fifteenth place was not what he’d worked so hard for all season.

Celestino was having none of it. “Did you skate your best?” he demanded. Yuuri muttered a grudging affirmative.

“What was that, Yuuri? I didn’t quite catch what you said.” Yuuri had hoped that Phichit would be fully engrossed with his hamsters by now, having made a beeline for their habitat the instant the door was unlocked. Apparently the universe wasn’t about to let him get that lucky.

He sighed heavily. “Yeah. I skated my best.” Maybe if he played along, they’d drop the subject. There was nothing else to do if they were determined to gang up on him, anyway.

“And did you improve on last year’s performance?”

“Yes.” Last year it had been Yuuri who had missed being in the top twenty-five. Phichit hadn’t even qualified for Worlds in 2012, ending his own season after a disappointing 4CC.

Celestino beamed as though that made it all better. “And that is why I am proud of you, and why you should be proud of yourself. Keep training as hard as you have been, and next season you’ll be in the top ten for sure.”

“And in the meantime,” Phichit added, “It’s time to start the post-season off right with the ritual Eating of the Carbs. I’m thinking Pizza Papalis?”

Yuuri shot him a halfhearted glare. “Your Nationals are still coming up,” he pointed out, but there was little actual heat in his voice. It wasn’t Phichit’s fault that his ‘freshman fifteen’ had been the opposite of most students’, resulting in a good third of his class plying their ‘precious hamster son’ with varying foodstuffs to ‘keep his strength up’.

“I’ll be good after tonight!”

“You could at least blush when you lie through your teeth like that.” Yuuri rolled his eyes. “Fine. Spinach and mushroom, extra garlic, you’re paying, and you’re handling all of the human interaction.”

Celestino laughed. “I am not hearing any of this. Celebrate well, boys. Ciao ciao!” He let himself out amid Phichit’s whoop of joy and subsequent call to the pizza place.

Yuuri curled up on the couch and opened his laptop. For once he wasn’t jetlagged after a competition, this year’s championship having been held a bare two hours’ drive away, in Ontario. He was still tired – a week’s worth of too little sleep while dealing with far too many strangers was stressful enough even without the pressure of competition – but he wasn’t sleepy. It was an odd, but not unwelcome, feeling.

so the all the kids love their moms a Whole Heck of a Lot right and obviously kara and lena love their kiddos more than words can describe and its not that there’s any favoritism?? at all, like none, its just that stella is sort of naturally closer to lena?? in the same way that finn and maia are sort of naturally closer to kara, like there’s a certain sort of distance created when you’re a kid and you physically can’t Be a certain way around one of your parents

so there’s not distance per se but just....things that kara can do with finn and maia that she cant do with stella and things that lena can do with stella that she cant do with finn and maia

and its not a Thing but then it sort of becomes a Thing ?? not so much for finn and maia bc lena and kara have gotten creative in making sure that lena’s always been able to be as involved in their lives as kara

but heres the deal: maia and finn have kara’s powers and kara trains them. that’s cool, thats fine, stella gets why she does; kara takes them to the deo with her a lot and they punch cars together (especially maia, she’s got a Lot of Rage to work through) and they go flying and kara helps them practice control over their powers and stella can’t help but feel a little left out?? bc for the most part, because her siblings are in control of their powers, they have the option to do everything she can with lena but stella doesnt have the same option with kara

and she hides it rlly well! she does! bc its not kara’s fault and its not finn and maia’s fault, its just how they are, and stella decides it has to be her fault which in turn feeds into the dark thoughts she already has bc, you know, empath that acts as an emotional sponge for the world

kara and lena both notice little stella withdrawing, kara notices its more around her than lena and is like..heartbroken. just fucking devastated bc holy shit what did she do how did this happen she fucked up she fucked up and lena tries to comfort her but she’s p worried too like fuck whats going on

and it doesnt help that stella can literally feel everything that they feel??? so she just shoves her feelings down even more and bounces back and then it boils over and this one in her class says her brother said that her brother is a word that makes stella shake with anger and she just hauls off and punches the girl

lena’s usually the parent the school calls first but she’s in opal city for a conference so lena calls kara, then the school calls kara and she’s in the middle of an interview and she let lena go to voicemail bc if its urgent she’ll call back but then she’s like “crap, it’s my daughter’s school” and her subject (idk wonder woman or smth) is like “omg no don’t worry, family first” and is super understanding when kara bolts

and like.......she would have expected this from maia, maybe (maia, who still takes the supplement that suppresses her powers bc she doesnt trust herself not to, maia, who gets so numb she just sometimes hits stuff just to feel something) but not stella?? not tiny little stella that used to sob when she accidentally pulled lena’s hair as a toddler or completely forgot kara had superstrength and would apply bandaid after bandaid when she bumped her elbow on the table

so she gets to the school and stella’s just Not Talking, in full shut down like she gets when she gets fried from the world (its sort of sensory overload?? thats the best way to describe it) and she shies away when kara reaches for her, tries to tip her face up to get a better look at the black eye she’s got forming

pls note that stella’s maybe eleven and still Small and she looks even tinier to kara now, looks more like the baby she pulled out of an abandoned car on the pier, and kara’s heart twists and twists at the way stella wont look at her

so she lays her phone on the chair next to stella and marches into the principals office and, while she agrees that stella shouldnt have resorted to violence, she also fully trusts and believes that her daughter wouldnt do anything without reason and she just verbally eviscerates the other mom, who tries to make it out like her daughter hasnt been harassing stella for years or anything (bc kara fucking commits every name to memory, every person that has ever hurt her kids, remembers their names what they said or did and she seethes bc she cant ?? fix all their problems for them???)

and when she marches back out, stella’s playing candy crush and has managed to escape with only suspension for the rest of the day and she still wont look at kara but she grabs onto kara’s hand with surprising force and kara’s like Okay, everything is going to be Okay

eventually stella says it, not to kara, but to alex bc she cant face her mom, either of her moms, with this, not when she’ll feel everything kara feels and she cant handle how it’ll hurt her to know that stella feels so angry and so useless, feels like she cant keep up with kara so she doesnt feel like she should even try, like she doesnt deserve to be kara zor-el’s daughter

so alex asks if she cant tell this to kara and stella sort of sobs out a please and alex is a lot better at compartmentalizing, which is a skill stella appreciates bc it means all she can feel is alex’s love for her, kindness, warmth, not the way alex’s heart is breaking for her youngest niece

so alex tells kara and kara is fucking devastated like holy shit how did she not see this and alex and lena both are like hey its okay, she buries her feelings, thats part of her powers and lena’s like i didnt see it either but none of it helps bc kara’s like i failed her, i failed my kid

stella usually carpools w/ her best friend home or to lena’s office after school but kara all but demands an afternoon off, storming into snapper’s office and throwing him for like.....several loops with the way she basically tells him she’s taking this thursday and every thursday hereafter off. and she calls ari’s mom to tell her that she’s picking up stella and she’s the first car at pick up and she picked up stella’s favorite drink from starbucks on her way over and her heart sort of twists a little at the obvious surprise on stella’s face to see her but she works extra hard to box that up and it must be working because stella’s stormy expression has already cleared a bit by the time she makes it to the car

when they pull up to the deo, stella figures that it must be time for her like biannual brain scans, to see how she’s matching up with other telepathic aliens bc they still dont know that much abt her species, but then kara’s guiding her down a different hallway, still just chatting with her abt her day and stuff like that

they walk into one of the Many training rooms and stella’s like ????? and kara tosses her a gym bag from a locker that stella notices has her name on it and is like i know it’s really hard to not be able to do what your brother and sister can and i am so sorry that i never saw how much you’re struggling. and i know its not fair that you dont get to punch cars with us, but you can punch this punching bag and talk to me and stella’s sort of overwhelmed?? but in a good way for once

so thats how they start spending thursday afternoons. kara has alex teach stella proper form after that first day and then they figure out a routine—kara greets stella with a snack afterschool and they head to the deo and dont talk about the heavy stuff until after stella’s changed, after kara’s wrapped stella’s hands, until stella’s gotten a few good punches in, kara steadying the bag. then it all starts coming out, all the terrible thoughts stella has, all the horrible things she feels that arent even her feelings to begin with, all these awful orphaned emotions that she takes on without meaning to

but ! for the most part he’s not the beat ppl up for my sisters kind of brother, he’s the do you wanna talk about it brother, the you’re on your period so i ran over to the corner store and got those stick on heat packs you like and also three pints of ben and jerrys brother, the your date bailed and youre crying in your room and think i cant hear it so i cancelled my plans and now we’re going to have a movie night on the couch, mama ordered chinese food brother

he’s the one that follows maia and cleans up the mess she’s made but only after he’s wrapped her up in the tightest hug he thinks she’ll tolerate and promised not to tell moms anything. he’s the one that helps her keep a lid on it most days, appearing from a classroom and pulling her into it when it looks like she’s about to rip a locker door off its hinges. the one that intervenes with teachers on her behalf after she blows up in class, smoothes things over so their moms dont have to get involved or ever know about it

he’s the one that acts as a buffer for stella a lot of the time, especially when they’re very little. he keeps by her side when she’s very small, still unsteady on her feet and that’s their holding pattern, her stumbling and him right beside her and offering her his hand. he’s the one that acts as a go between for her when the world overwhelms her and, ranking just below their moms, is one of her favorite people and one of her Certified Safe Places. the list is a small one (basically consisting of lena, kara, finn, alex, maggie, eliza, and j’onn), it’s v prestigious in his opinion

MAIA IS SUCH A FIRE STARTER OH MY GOD i love her i love her so much but she is destructive as hell. like the best way to describe it is this—u know how soft finn is? he’s kara danvers. maia? kara zor-el when angered. she screams and she rages and she’s a hurricane and she breaks things and burns things but she is so fucking careful with the people she loves and even though she loves flying, she loves not worrying about hurting them more so she keeps her powers suppressed for like.....basically from birth to when she’s about twenty or so and she’s a mess but she’s a mess you call when you’re in a fight in a denny’s parking lot and you know she’ll show up even though it’s 2am and you started the fight

and she loves her family so so much?? so much it hurts??? and she’s not good with feelings like finn and can’t read ppl like stella so she doesn’t know what to do with the way she feels most of the time so she beats ppl up for her siblings without them even having to ask

she finds finn locked in the girls bathroom once and doesnt even say a fucking word, she just storms into the boys locker room and starts threatening ppl until they point her to the ringleader and he well he never messes with finn ever again and quite honestly flinches whenever maia danvers walks into a room

stella gets called a freak? technically maia doesn’t beat the kid up that said it, bc he’s like twelve, but she still intimidates the hell out of him. in college, stella comes out and like most ppl r cool w/ it but this one dude in her freshmen seminar calls her a dyke and stella doesnt even necessarily tell maia, but she’s in the city and has brunch with her the next day and can fucking see it in her face and so she does beat him up

most ppl at school dont realize their mom is Lena Luthor bc she’s mostly known as mrs danvers or maia/finn/stella’s mom/other mom and she rlly looks v different when she’s at the school or at a recital or performance or game, usually in casual clothes with her hair down and sunglasses on, so no one ever rlly puts it together but once maia heard these kids saying that any luthor still standing is a threat, you know? and she sort of destroys them

they also dont ever say the name luthor within their high school ever again

when she gets older, she sort of mellows out thanks to age and maturity and also a fuck ton of therapy but she still verbally destroys ppl and is that person that’s always like they’re not treating you right? leave their ass

and stella oh little stella

she’s like very much the baby of the family, like there’s abt five years btwn her and finn and three btwn her and maia and she idolizes her siblings even if she’ll never voice it

she is also a giant brat sometimes like she mercilessly blackmails them for rides and party invites and whatever else she wants (obviously not mercilessly, never about the big stuff, never about anything real) and they know she’d never follow through on her threats but they give her whatever it is she wants anyway bc that’s sort of part of the game they play, you know?

she also takes like.....a lot of care for them. like as much as they protect her, she protects them. she’s usually the first line of defense when things get shitty, bc she feels it?? and is sort of forced into noticing first. when finn starts getting nightmares, it’s stella that clambers into his bed and starts telling him stories. she’s the first to get a Bad Vibe from maia’s bf and she fucking acts on it, tells their moms. she knows when her siblings are happy and she cheers them on so fucking loudly and she knows when theyre hurting and she’s the first to bring them kleenex and snacks
